Oliver Kirkland 🧁 Gen. Headcanons

Oliver is considered to be the nicer of the 2ps—he's cooperative and leans more towards peaceful resolutions whilst retaining a cheerful disposition! The reasons behind his sweet smiles come from a deeply-rooted principle of ‘the golden rule'.

He chooses to abide by this principle, not because of fear of others, but because, out of most of the 2ps, Oliver is more excitable to violence. If he wanted to, he could hurt everyone around him in the worst of ways.

In his Empire days, he was known to be one of the more violent nations; however, during modern times, Oliver likes to stray away from what he once was. Even if he's significantly tamer than he was in the past, he still holds a slight temper but doesn’t show it off as much as his counterpart. 

Oliver’s relationship with his 1p is a bit strained due to conflicting personalities and interests. While he tries his best to reach a compromise with his counterpart, it usually just ends with Arthur being grumpier than before.

Oliver’s hobbies include reading, knitting, brewing tea, and baking. The latter grew fond of these muses because all of them are soothing by nature. He's the type to stress over things easily, so doing things like baking helps manage his emotions whilst reducing the chances of going into another psychotic episode.

If and when he goes into a psychotic episode, Allen [and sometimes Matthieu] would be tasked to deal with him. During these episodes, Oliver’s violent tendencies would resurface. Having been raised by the Brit, Allen knew how to properly deal with him without hurting him or himself. 

There was one time Oliver’s psychotic episodes were becoming too frequent which forced him to become isolated longer than he’d fancied. He's a social person by nature, and being separated from others was mental torture even if he knew it was the only thing that kept people safe from him.

But even with his struggles, he owns a small bake shop and surprisingly manages the business quite well. But the process of owning a small [yet successful] business along with handling the duties of being a personification is easier said than done.

It took a lot of convincing and compensation for his boss to finally give in but Oliver was happy nonetheless. He reasoned that by opening a bakery, he’d be able to blend in more with the crowd, indulge more time in his hobbies, and ultimately calm his nerves to prevent any lingering stress. 

The way Oliver interacts with his citizens strongly contrasts with how he speaks to fellow countries. When talking to other nations, Oliver tends to be more formal while keeping up his zestful attitude. But if he were to engage in small talk with his customers, he’ll add a little bit more honey to his words. 

It’s known by literally everyone that Oliver has a soft spot for kids. To him, kids are a pleasant reminder of a time when he took care of Allen and Matthieu when they were small. Even now, Oliver still views them as such but doesn’t voice it as he knows it’ll most likely offend them. 

He believes that children are a bit smarter than adults in many ways. The reason is: they're the only ones who can sense that he [and other personifications] aren’t exactly human.

hot take: hima's original concept design for 2p! England is SO much better and more creative than the fanon one

There's not a lot of fanart of his design that I've seen but it is very pleasing. I'm not exactly sure where the the fanon design really started but it's ok I guess. it doesn't really share the same vision as this version of Britain though. I don't know if the whole bowtie-sweater vest thing was supposed to be street clothes and got out of control, but yeah.

I will still be biased and always stick to my headcanon that Oliver is a strawberry blonde though, and I'm honestly happy that the art I've found of his original 'war' outfit depicts that pretty well.

I feel like Romano got the same sort of treatment by the fandom. Though I don't personally hate the fanon designs, I just have to sit here and wonder where they got the idea to make him pink.

Massachusetts state flower is the mayflower. Massachusetts = original 13 colonies + “mayflower” hahahaha + mayflowers are named after the English Hawthorn (also called Mayflowers) whihc are found in ancient woodland parts of Britain & have historical ties there.

Something about Massachusetts, which hosts huge historical moment for the rev war, having a flower that has ties to a DIFFERENT flower from England specifically………. Food for thought.

Aaaa it's a little embarrassing to admit, but I was a very big fan of Britain. >_< he was my number one, including his 2p counterpart. Oliver was the perfect amount of unhinged and creepy, all wrapped up in pretty pastels. BUT OHHHH MR. BRITAIN!!!!! I was down so horrendous for him. Perhaps it's because he's so pathetic and silly and babygirl, but I liked how he was just such a grumpy tsundere all the time! And the fact that he couldn't cook and everyone made fun of him for it hehe. But his pirate era............... omg. (/ω＼) the many facets of Britain had me ensnared back then. I was but a maiden blindly in love.

I also really liked Spain, the Nordics, Canada, America, and Russia. Truthfully, I would love to write for any and all of the Hetalia characters, even the 2ps!! I have so many years-old concepts written in my Google docs because I had no one to share my thoughts with back then, so Google docs was my outlet lol. If I do write for Hetalia, it is a merakiui guarantee that some of the nations are getting breeding kinks and the concepts will be, as they often are, dark and twisted and creepy. >:D it is also a a merakiui guarantee that the yandere Hetalia debut fic will most likely be for Mr. Britain. I need to return to my simping roots somehow.

again, "best" fluctuates depending on certain factors like current fixation and general mood, I guess. SO here are some categories that make them good contenders along with some negatives imho(humble):

Tony Stark: experience = great at switching and has an abundance of toys. down to experiment and push limits.

con: emotionally unavailable/handicapped so no strings unless he wants you to fix him

SIM!Tony Stark: very attentive to your reactions and will play you like a fiddle.

con: will literally treat you worse than normal verse!tony on a bad day, like give you the best orgasm(s) of your life and throw you off a cliff afterwards without a second thought

Clark Kent: superpowers = sex is practically limitless with dangerous kinks to safely do (to him more than you so sub king) and he'll genuinely care about the act and doing it with you (awww).

con: may be too vanilla at times (especially as Kent) and will either refuse to be too rough or end up being too rough in the act

Lupin III: very flexible and respecting consent is his religion, despite his pervy jokes, wandering eyes, and twitchy hands.

con: won't stay around for long, if at all- so just a bang and runs off into the night or literally being caught in the act and leaving you exposed/embarassed and unfinished

APH!Britain: dom/dom-leaning switch with a voice that can play wicked deviousness and melt buttered-up hearts. roleplay king who will thoroughly shag you.

con: quite selfish in his needs and may suggest acts or initiate activities that you may not necessarily want to do and that he won't actually budge on, bringing it up every other session

2p!Britain: will bend to practically all your needs while having his moments of decent topping, plus the best food kink partner.

con: too whiny and sensitive at times, usually never initiating anything and making you do all the work

APH!America: an enthusiastic partner that can pull off being serious, sentimental, and playful in the act. and will do it about anywhere, probably.

con: being pushy in his needs leads to uncomfortable moments and miscommunication issues

2p!America: need i say more than a secretly hopeless romantic and tounge piercing?

con: being a criminal means you will be an accomplice to murder by association whoops

Needles Kane: absolutely dirty words and messy finishes, balancing raspy degradation with complimentary groping. also, a generally heavy upper build for manhandling you in many ways.
