Amidst the sea of cheers for our school's team, the Vipers, my heart took a detour to celebrate a different allegiance.

In a surprising twist, I found myself passionately cheering for the Stallions, not out of rivalry but out of love. My boyfriend, a proud Stallion, was part of the team, and my loyalty naturally shifted. Each rebound, every successful three-pointer, became a personal victory, and the cheers for the Stallions resonated with an extra layer of emotional investment.

The camaraderie and friendly banter between fans intensified the experience. It was not just about which team triumphed on the court; it was about the bonds we forged, the playful rivalries, and the shared joy of celebrating each other's victories. The basketball court became a stage for unity in diversity, where friendships flourished beyond the boundaries of team colors.

Amidst the sportsmanship, the day unfolded with the grace of a well-played game. Volleyball spikes soared through the air, badminton shuttlecocks whizzed in calculated arcs, and the mental agility of word games kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The cheers and applause became a chorus of encouragement, creating an electrifying ambiance that transcended individual victories and losses.

Watching these Olympic badminton matches made me miss the good old days when I was actively competing as a varsity player. What if nauso na nung time na yun ang magvideo ng plays? I could rewatch all the matches I did since Grade 4 hanggang 2nd year college ☺️

Just like to share two of my most memorable matches:

First, Grade 6. March 2006. Few days before Elem graduation. At Olongapo. CLRAA Meet. Semis for Singles. I was representing Pampanga, and my opponent’s from San Fernando. I was ahead of 7pts sa first set (not yet rally point system, meaning you can only earn points when you served the rally). Pero in the middle of the game, naputol ang racket string ko, and di ko gamay yung spare na racket. Ayun, natalo. And I admit, malakas naman din yung kalaban, but kayang talunin, na overpower lang ng utak kong pinilit isipin na di ako sanay sa spare racket. But still ended up winning Bronze. Yey. And during graduation, I was surprised that I was awarded Athlete of the Year (yiii kilig) sabay two thumbs up from dear Principal Sir Songco. Hahahaha. May pa torch-bearer na ganap pa ako during elementary and hs intramurals nun hahaha.

Second, 2nd year high school. 2008 (can’t remember the month). At San Fernando. Tournament (governor’s or mayor’s cup?). Championship Match for Doubles. (Played doubles na during HS). And ang kalaban? Yung nakatalo sa akin ng CLRAA 2006!!! (I should avenge for myself ang tema) I think our match was the last during that cup, and madaming audience, and it was a beastly match! Umabot ng third set, and the adrenaline rush and competitiveness namin ng partner ko were really boosted. I told her, we have to beat them, I have to beat that girl from CLRAA 2006!!! Hahahaha. And yes, we did beat them!! We are the champions ang peg with cash prize (that we used to buy matching badminton bags) Hahaha!!!! Intense and really memorable!! I remember umiyak si clraa 2006 girl after the match. That kinda tore my heart a little, but both of our teams gave our very best, and we showcased a really good match naman (given na we were only 14/15year olds back then).

And yup I still remember other few memorable matches, but these two above were the greatest matches for me. Panalo man or talo 🫶🏻🏸

Day 1

I woke up early because I was so excited for the first day of our intrams. I was already at school at 5 in the morning and got our props ready and at 6 in the morning we went to the oval to start the parade🐎

Day 2

on the second day of our intrams here, our basketball game started, we weren't even lucky to win, at least we still enjoyed it🐎

Day 3

on the third day, the men's volleyball game started here and the silver stallion's opponent is the fearless falcons

Day 4

in the four days since the pageant started, we were very happy because our friend concha won

DAY 5 OF INTRAMURALS(LAST DAY)

The basketball men fearless falcons championship started against the legendary lions, their fight was very tight but the fearless falcons still won the champion ship, the awarding for all teams also started here

INTRAMURALS - DAY 1

PARADE DAY

On this day the parade was held, we woke up early so as not to be late and not be left behind in the parade, it was amazing what we heard and saw that yell performance, on this day I became an usher and it was a very happy experience, there were other teams performed and you can really see the effort of each one.

DAY 2 - DAY 3

BASKETBALLS GAMES

In this day we fought the LEGENDARY LIONS BASKETBALL TEAM. we fought but we couldn't handle it, we gave our best but we still lost but it was a very good fight, in the afternoon we fought the SILVER STALLIONS BASKETBALL TEAM and we won and it was a comeback.

In day 3, we fought the LEGENDARY LIONS BASKETBALL TEAM again and we lost here, everyone gave their best but still lost

DAY - 4

MR & MS PASIKLABAN

This day will show the beautiful and beautiful people of each team, in the morning we watched VOLLEYBALL MEN and BADMINTON MEN, each team will show beautiful.

In the afternoon I prepared for the runaway model and it was a very good experience for that, it was very fun to hear people's shouts.

In the mr and ms pasiklaban 2024, my friend alxeandrey concha won the mr. pasiklaban 2024 from vicious vipers.

DAY - 5

LAST DAY OF INTRAMURALS

In the morning we watched the volleyball men's championship, the LEGENDARY LIONS won the championship, next is the basketball men's championship FEARLESS FALCONS fought against LEGENDARY LIONS and the FEARLESS FALCONS win and became the champion.

In the afternoon is awarding ceremony, my team is vicious vipers amd it's only 2nd place but the important thing is that we all enjoyed it. 🐍🐍🐍

DAY 1 ( THE START OF A GREAT WEEK)

THE PARADE DAY

In this day parade happens, we woke up early so that we can prepare and go early to our respective areas as we start our 2024 PASIKLABAN INTRAMURALS. Also in this day when the "INDAK INDAK SA KADALANAN" happens, I can see the effort of all the teams so that they can win the competition. Also I supported my friend in singing in the "DRAMATIC DUET" later that afternoon I even wore my voice out cheering for them.

I also support my idol, my beautiful and gorgeous girlfriend on their performance that morning in dancesport and my cheer and shouts are worth it because they win it, they got the title CHAMPIONS for DANCESPORT COMPETITION.

DAY 2 - DAY 3 ( THE START OF THE MOST AWAITED BALL GAMES)

BASKETBALL GAMES

In this day, our first ever game started but we fell short to the LEGENDARY LIONS BASKETBALL TEAM. We fought hard but still we aren't even close. Later that afternoon we beat the SILVER STALLIONS BASKETBALL TEAM with a ferocious 15 point deficit comeback.

In Day 3, we met our end when the team of the LEGENDARY LIONS BASKETBALL finish us with a close game. We fought very hard but we lost and we will come back next year!! Vicious Vipers!!!!

DAY 4 ( MR. AND MS. PASIKLABAN )

This is the day where our beauty queens and handsome men's showcase their talent in pageant. In Vicious Vipers there's my friend Alxeandrey Concha who joins the Mr Pasiklaban for our team. Then at first he was nervous and when the Q&A comes. We was shocked for his astonishing answer that gave him the title MR. PASIKLABAN 2024.

Also my cousin join this said pageant MR. and MS. PASIKLABAN 20204. Princess Abegail L. Maguate, My very own cousin. Behind all the struggles all of the tiring preparation and hardwork that she needs to go through. She came through on top! She wins! She succeed in her goal. I'm so proud of my cousin even though she has many bashers right now I'll stay right by her side always and always. Congrats to MS PASIKLABAN 2024 Princess Abegail L. Maguate.

DAY 5 (THE END OF AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE)

In this day the basketball championship commends and the winner is the FEARLESS FALCONS. Later that morning the LEGENDARY LIONS wins the volleyball men category. At the afternoon there goes the awarding ceremony as my team, the VICIOUS VIPERS takes 2nd place only but that's alright because we enjoy the intramurals it's a once in a lifetime experience. Wazzup Kuya(?) Kagan!

How you been? It feels weird calling you a kuya since you’re technically me, but at this point, I’ve gotten used to the numerous younger scholars calling me kuya anyways.

In case you forgot who the hell you were, hi! I’m Grade 12 Kagan. I am writing this letter the day after I took the ACET and two days after we clinched the 2nd seed in the basketball Intramurals. Both situations sucked. You probably already received a letter failing the ACET because I tanked the exam by not reviewing any math concepts at all (sorry for setting you up like that), and we blew a 20-pt lead against the black team because their star player is just that dude. Nonetheless, the experience is what counts for me.

I’m still on that writing and reading grind, and I hope you are still on it too. Well, I cooled off a bit because Pisay is asking for way too much, but it is what it is. I’m using this Ugnayan break to work on getting on track with my hobbies and accomplishing bucket list items, and hopefully that bucket list on your end is filled with check marks.

With that being said, there’s three quarters left to go, and I could not be more terrified. The ACET situation was really a wake up call for me to go full force on my college applications. It was actually a relatively easy exam, except there were strict time crunches and I didn’t review. This isn’t even mentioning the lack of an exam for UP admissions, which are going to be reliant on grades. I really hope you are in UPD Psych right now, because that’s currently my dream future scenario and I cannot handle the question marks floating in the air. Lastly, I don’t know what’s next on the curriculum. Heavy requirements are fast approaching (Research defense, Fili research, Bio case study, etc.), and while I’m not even close to being burnt out right now, I don’t want that fuse gone by December. Hopefully, I can make it last.

Well, if you’re reading this, you probably survived the curveballs Pisay and college apps were throwing at you. You’re about to enter university! Isn’t that great? It probably isn’t at the moment, but I’m so excited for the opportunities that will come your way. Professors featured often on ABS-CBN, new classes, and perhaps even beautiful women are around the corner. Embrace the moment, but don’t disregard the future. Keep the ones who were with you from the start by your side and perhaps integrate some new ones down the line. It’s a battle of networking there, I’ve heard. Lastly, get a fucking girlfriend for once. Stop making academics your excuse to mask your true feelings.

Well, that’s it. I’m done talking. I’m not going to ask you any questions this time since I would much rather find out the answers on my own, but please do write back once you get word of your college results. Thanks for everything. Soar high, king!

Last intramural day, I gave him a bracelet. At what cost? Nothing really, I just didn't want to keep looking at the bracelet in my wallet for another year.

Since then, it has been dry asf. We didn't communicate nor did he show any signs about it. What if he threw it away and discarded the meaning?

It's the 2nd week after that day. Lowkey glad I wasn't able to interact with him that much. I'm actually planning to give up and really focus more about myself.

Our experience in the Intramurals 2024

Kepler school of science.

This will be split into 2 lightning jamz experience and golden flames experience starting with lightning jamz. We got into our groups and we started discussing the chant and getting our jerseys numbers and sizes after that we started practicing the cheer and that's basically it. Next were the same then they started practicing the dance and next week they started picking people for sports like basketball, badminton, volleyball, chess, and scrabble and the day after that we started practicing cheer dance I was a drummer and it was mostly the same until the intramurals day where I was switched to hold the background. Now the intramurals days they started with a parade and lighting the torch lighting and flag raising then the sports started the golden won most of the sports but lightning won some too. 2nd day we won the 2nd basketball game and volleyball we also had mister and misses intramurals and then the golden won the 3rd game of basketball and we won the cheer dance dance but he golden were the over all winners.

My experience being in the Golden Flames team.

Day 1, it was a sunny day. I arrived at the school late, I saw alot of people, the team leaders were giving out balloons. After that we went to the parade. When we arrived at the Civic centre we were split into 2. After that we did our national anthem(Bayang Magiliw), after that we did our prayer. After the prayer, we waited for the teachers to annouce to start the games. First we did the lighting of the the torch, then we did the banner raising. The games were basketball, badminton and badminton. During the basketball it was really intense and fun. The first quarter the Lightning Jamz won, but the second quarter the Golden Flames won, the Golden Flames had a very big advantage, it lead them to win. It was 27-33. During the badminton, I didn't really watch anything because I left the building.

Day 2

Day 2 it was a cloudy day. The games were the same it was basketball, badminton, volleyball and chess. I didnt really watch all of it but all i could remember was watching the basketball. Day 2 during the afternoon, the Grades 4-5 danced. After that we did our dance after that it was Lightning Jamz' turn. The winners of the cheerdance is Lightning Jamz. After the winners of the Intramurals 2024 were annouced. It was Golden Flames!

Intramurals 2024, Day 2

Day 2 was exellent and not bad at all. We went to continue basketball game 2 and 3, and badminton. The thing so special about day 2 is that it has so many great people grouping, chanting their time like is was the olympics. I dont really want to discuss my 2nd gane but the third game. The teachers went out to call the basketball player's parents, and thankfully my advisor chose my did, since he is the one who always coaches me in every game. Now, thanks to say he did let me play and i finally held the ball. His plan turned out to be great and we almost gad a 12 shooting streak because of the plan mixed with kuya Angelo shooting. After i finally got in the court for the 3rd time, Franz passed me the ball and i couldnt resist but to show no mercy against my opponent. Kuya Gabo was guarding me, and i couldnt let down and kept dribbling, but 2 people fouled me and i had to get a freethrow. And then i got back to bench and we won the basketball game. Finally. Now the badminton game continued and my friend Erriane fought Nadine, and o cheered for Erriane, and so she won. Now, i went to skip the games and continued with the awarding. Us Golden Flames won the game, Lightning Jamz won the cheerdance, and them the overall score, goes to GOLDEN FLAMES! After i heard the should i ran and jumped everywhere, truly i was proud, and i couldn't forget the moment that i won, and then we finally exited the court, and went back to our home.

My Experience During The Intramural 2024

1st Day: During the 1st day of intramurals I was very nervous because I was selected as a representative for the Mr. and Ms. Intramural. Even though I lost,

I still had a lot of fun during that time. After that we went to City mall and we ate at Jollibee because we were very hungry. After eating we went to the second floor to play some games at the arcade and we saw our classmates already playing so we decided to play with them and we had lots of fun. After we played

a couple of games we went to Mr. DIY because some of our classmates wanted to see some things in that store. After that we went back to civic center to play some sports in the afternoon.

2nd day: During the 2nd day of intramurals our school played a lot of sports

like: badminton, basketball, and volleyball just to name a few. After we played several games we all had our lunch. After eating lunch I went back to Civic Center to play another game of basketball and we won 2 games and lost one game. We were very happy that we were declared the winner in basketball. After we played

basketball we had our cheer dance competition against the other team but unfortunately we lost so we felt a little sad. After that every player who won was given an award. The most exciting part was when we were announced as the overall champions of the intramurals 2024. Everyone in our team was very happy. The End

Chasing Dreams: A Tale of Sports, Dance, and Self-Discovery

My love for sports came at a very young age. I was this young kid who wanted to play with people twice my age. It was basketball that I fell in love with at first. When I picked up the ball, I felt like a kid who has dreams of entering the NBA. I would train day and night just to reach my goal of playing in the big league. On August 21, 2017, this was my first ever basketball game representing the school. I was the shortest kid of all the players we were up against. We lined up, and the starting five were called. The commentator then said, "Number 4, Point Guard, Antonio Acaso." My heart was trembling with excitement as my name was called. As the game started, I was so nervous that I committed a lot of turnovers. My coach then told me, "Anton, just enjoy the game and play it like it's your last game.". As I went back to the court, I started to relax a little bit and started to get into a rhythm. Shots were coming back and forth while people were cheering for our school. I scored a total of 10 points, garnering a victory for the MMIS Burgandy Hawks.

My love for basketball suddenly faded away because I knew I had no chance to play in the big leagues with other good players because of my height disadvantage. It was the year 2018, and I heard a loud, booming sound from the quadrangle. I rushed to check it out, but it was Grade 9 students playing a sport that I wasn't very familiar with. I went down and asked them what sport they were playing, and they responded to me that they were playing badminton. They were so kind that they let me play with them. As a beginner, I was struggling a lot, but when I held the racket for the first time, I felt a connection that I was destined to play this sport instead of basketball. The school was offering a badminton clinic after school hours, so I decided to join as well. On the first day of training, I was having a hard time because of the different training they have from basketball. But as time passed, I started getting used to the sport. One year later, on September 21, 2019, to be exact, I was given the opportunity to represent the school and play badminton in the North District Athletic Meet. On the day of the competition, my coach told me that I was one of the youngest players in the whole competition, which made me feel the same feeling as in my first ever basketball game. I was nervous, and I was shaking the entire time. My coach then told me to relax and enjoy the game. With the racket being one with me, every hit of the opponent looked very slow from my perspective, which gave me clear shots on where I should put the shuttle. But at the end of the day, we only got 2nd place and didn't have the chance to participate in the unit meet.

Going back to the past, I was this very energetic kid who loved to sing and dance all day long. Which is how I fell in love with dancing at a very young age. I actually loved dancing because I used to watch my ate dance, which gave them the opportunity to represent the whole of Cebu in Manila in 2015. I grew up watching Matt Stefanina and following his online tutorials on YouTube. Which brings us to September 26, 2023. This was a day to remember; our blood, sweat, and tears paid off. You can hear the loudest roars coming from the senior high-prowling panthers. This was the last Grade 12 Intramurals at MMIS because we are graduating. With all the hard work, it paid off; we became the grand champions of the dance palabas competition. This was one of the best intramurals that I ever joined since I got to spend the last year of my senior high school years with my closest friends. It was also a very good experience dancing in front of the whole MMIS community because I was dancing with my heart out and I had the chance to dance with my friends, which made us the champions.

In conclusion, my journey through sports and the arts has been transformative. From dreaming of NBA stardom despite physical limitations in basketball to finding success and fulfillment in badminton and dance, each experience has shaped my character. Though basketball's height barrier redirected my focus, it led me to discover new passions and excel in unexpected arenas. Badminton taught me perseverance and the joy of competition, while dance became an outlet for self-expression and camaraderie. These diverse experiences have taught me that success isn't solely measured by victories but by the passion and dedication we bring to our pursuits. As I bid farewell to MMIS, I carry with me valuable lessons, cherished friendships, and an unwavering commitment to pursuing my dreams in whatever form they may take.

This was the day I've been waiting for this was our intramurals. On the first day there were just dancing and all other stuffs. 2nd day of our intramurals this was our game day we won 2 times in a row we just defeat stallions and lions and got advanced to the finals. 3rd day, we were just watching other sports like volleyball and badminton. 4rth day this was the finals between lions and viper's and the lions won and we've just watching some sports like takraw and the finals for volleyball. 5th day this was the day we've all been waiting for this was the day we've won, we beat the lions on the 2nd game. And it's not a bad experience for me because I'm a newbie at this school and I was amazed because how sports was priorities in this school.

I was taken as food committee of Ma'am Parcon what I did before was help to prepare the snack and giving them a food to the players.

When I have nothing to do I go in my team legendary lion to support them my experience here is so fun and I enjoy it.

Today i would like to share my heartfelt experience of the intramurals 2024 at GFI School. When we were told that our intramurals were coming up, I felt excited and happy because it was just now that I got to experience intramurals again and on the first day of our intrams, I felt happy and tired when I got home from school. 2nd day I was nervous because we had a basketball game when I got home I felt tired until the end of the five days I was happy because I experienced intrams again. All i can say is it's really fun and i enjoy a lot.
