Another cute yuri manga. I really enjoy the main characters. It's got some nice moments and drama, but the way it introduces characters and how those characters influence the main relationship feels somewhat unnatural. It’s still quite a cute and nice read nonetheless, but it doesn’t manage to be as emotionally fulfilling as I’d like it to be.

I decided to go for a few more promo items for my favs while I was getting the rest of the green manga bonus booklets since it was going to be a flat paper shipment anyway. Didn’t have to pay a big yuri tax on them either for once…. I totally thought the 2DK ones were postcards. Turned out to be closer to baseball card sized but I already have some card protectors to use anyways. I need to start reading the measurements closer. Had a big laugh about it while opening. The cooking one was printed as a “used” postcard including a stamp and note on the back.

2DK, G-Pen, Alarm Clock (Vol. 5) by Yayoi Ohsawa

here's an old read i've been following for a while now! i found it after it was picked up by one of my fave scan groups, though they've dropped it some time ago. reading it's been on/off since it's still scanlated by other folks, just not very consistently, but lately a new group's picked it up and did all of volume 5!!

the plot's taken a convoluted turn now as ms. ohsawa tries to push her two leads into action, in a way that felt p contrived imo. it kinda comes off like she'd unintentionally made most of her main cast either unwiling or incapable of actually initiating anything romantic, writing herself into a corner, and she had to scramble to squeeze new elements along in order to push things into happening lmao

seems like the actual manga's finished publication aaages ago, it just hasn't been fully translated into english yet. here's hoping that the current scan team keeps trucking on!

ive got a few that i recommend checking out: 1. school zone i hesitate to recommend this one bc its currently on indefinite hiatus BUT. its also genuinely like the number one greatest yuri manga of all time. hands down 2. 2dk, g-pen, alarm clock really really good yuri despite uh. so the scanlation group(s) that did this one gave the main character a scottish accent to show that she speaks with kansai dialect. its a weird choice but you get used to it

3. the guy she was interested in wasn't a guy at all longass title. sincerely one of the best. only real flaw is it does Four Page Chapters which is just not enough for how compelling it is

4. catulus syndrome

this one is kind of wack but i still really enjoyed it bc i have an insane mind. this is also the recommendation that you probably wouldnt get from anyone else bc this manga has been read by like 6 people

The Real Momoka by Arai Sumiko angsty, complicated relationship between a bartender and office lady (same author/artist of "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy At All" btw, so you know it's the good stuff)

Summer Love by Shino Hirofumi city girl x country girl, food is their love language

Still Sick by Akashi Dynasty Scans | Amazon MC works a serious tech job but draws yuri doujin as a hobby, her coworker discovers this and chaos ensues... I really dig that the story covers their time as an established couple, not just getting together.

2DK, G-pen, Alarm Clock by Ohsawa Yayoi office lady x mangaka omg they were roommates slowburn - the main couple's great and all, but some really interesting side characters elevate the series IMO

Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon by Usui Shio Dynasty Scans | Amazon ace/aro rep let's go! The main characters figuring things out together is super sweet and well portrayed.

Still got more but a lot of them are ongoing... But I think this is a good batch to dig into. Enjoy!
