A equal tee is the most common pipe fitting. It is used to either combine or split a fluid flow. It is a type of pipe fitting which is T-shaped having two outlets, at 90° to the connection to the main line. It is a short piece of pipe with a lateral outlet. A tee is used for connecting pipes of different diameters or for changing the direction of pipe runs. They are made of various materials and available in various sizes and finishes. They are extensively used in pipeline networks to transport two-phase fluid mixtures.
When we call a steel tee “equal tee”, means the branch diameter of this tee is same with the main pipe (Run pipe) diameter of this tee. When we see only one size of tee in its description, it means this tee is the equal tee. for example, 8″ Tee mean the tee main pipe and branch pipe both are 8 inches. Sometimes the equal tee also described 8″X8″ which is the same meaning of 8″ tee.

ASME B16.9 ASTM A403 WP316L SMLS CON RED is used to join pipes or tubes sections on the same axis. They provide an in-line conical transition between pressurized pipes of differing diameters. A WP316L SMLS CON RED can be a single diameter change or a multiple diameter change. The pipes cannot recognize what the outside configuration of the pipe reducer looks like. The pipe flow is affected by the inside diameter conical transition configuration which can be axially moved and externally reconfigured to provide for more economical reducer fittings. Thus, WP316L SMLS CON RED connects pipes of unequal size but have a common centerline. In other words, it is a type of pipe fitting with different size ends to join pipes of different diameter that joins pipe sections on the same axis.
WP316L SMLS CON RED is designed with the small and large diameters on opposite ends and joined by a cone shaped transition section. They are available in both seamless and welded construction.
Use of WP316L SMLS CON RED is as follows:
WP316L SMLS CON RED will transition gracefully between the piping and the pump.
The WP316L SMLS CON RED helps in transporting slurries or abrasive liquids.
They are useful in services where cavitation is present.
When transporting between flanges or pipes of different ratings and wear protection is necessary, concentric reducers are ideal.

Notes:
1) Gasket face finish shall be in accordance with ASME B16.5 for raised face flanges.
2) The lap thickness T shall not be less than nominal pipe wall thickness.
3) When short pattern stub ends are used with larger flanges in Classes 300 and 600,with most sizes in Classes 900 and higher,and when long pattern stub ends are used with larger flanges in Classes 1500 and 2500,it may necessary to increase the length of the stub ends in order to avoid covering the weld with the flange.Such increases in length shall be a matter of agreement between the manufacturer and purchaser.
4) When special facings such as tongue and groove,male and female,etc.,are employed,additional lap thickness must be provided and such additional thickness shall be in addition to (not included in)the basic length F.
WP316L SMLS Stub End
What are they?
WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.
They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.
How do they work?
A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.
Why?
Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.
WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs' Types
WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs are typically manufactured by two methods. Type A & B Stub Ends are made similar to forged fittings such as Elbows and Flanges. Type C Stub Ends are made by forming pipe to the desired dimensions.

Concentric Reducer
ASTM B366 Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer Concentric Reducer is used to join pipes or tubes sections on the same axis. They provide an in-line conical transition between pressurized pipes of differing diameters. A Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer can be a single diameter change or a multiple diameter change. The pipes cannot recognize what the outside configuration of the pipe reducer looks like. The pipe flow is affected by the inside diameter conical transition configuration which can be axially moved and externally reconfigured to provide for more economical reducer fittings. Thus, Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer connects pipes of unequal size but have a common centerline. In other words, it is a type of pipe fitting with different size ends to join pipes of different diameter that joins pipe sections on the same axis.
Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer is designed with the small and large diameters on opposite ends and joined by a cone shaped transition section. They are available in both seamless and welded construction.
Use of Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer is as follows:
Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer will transition gracefully between the piping and the pump.
The Alloy 625 Concentric Reducer helps in transporting slurries or abrasive liquids.
They are useful in services where cavitation is present.
When transporting between flanges or pipes of different ratings and wear protection is necessary, concentric reducers are ideal.

What are they?
WP304 Stub Ends are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.
They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.
How do they work?
A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.
Why?
Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.
WP304 Stub Ends' Types
WP304 Stub Ends are typically manufactured by two methods. Type A & B Stub Ends are made similar to forged fittings such as Elbows and Flanges. Type C Stub Ends are made by forming pipe to the desired dimensions.

An eccentric reducer is manufactured with the smaller outlet off center to the larger end, which allows it to align with only one side of the inlet. The eccentric reducer must be installed with straight side up so that it can prevent trapping air at the pump suction. The eccentric reducers allow simple connection of different sized pipes.
