Where did that come from?

Hyacinthe usually was a calm, composed person who was always gentle and kind. Sure, sometimes they were sad, but they would try to hide it. One thing that was certain was that they were never aggressive. This short outburst was definitely not like them. Their anger was not directed to Lorraine. In fact, it was not targeted towards anybody. They had not even controlled the words that came out of their mouth.

Slowly, as Lorraine flooded them with words they struggled understanding through their mind rushing a thousand miles per hour, Hyacinthe removed the hands they had pressed to their lips and looked down. Their fingers were shaking. "I don't... I don't know what home is like," they whispered, as the realization dawned on them. In their childhood, they had never had a place to call home and, even growing up free, they had moved too much to get used to one place in particular. "I'm sorry..."

"oh! this is a crap-tastically bad idea! a real shit show!" jinx grabbed the new creation she was working on and used it as a microphone. a new type of gun that operated on both shimmer and exploding bullets. it was going to be epic and do some real catastrophic damage! nothing made jinx as happy as a good explosion. blue braids whipped all over the place as she danced around in front of her friend. "what should we blow up first. a building. a person. people inside a building?"

"Of course, it's risky," Herbert did nothing to hide his irritation, having very little patience left for nay-sayers, "Nobody pioneers scientific advancement by playing it safe." He turned his attention back to mixing chemicals, "But... Every reaction-even a negative one-brings me one step closer to perfecting my serum."

"All I want to know is where to get bubblegum ice cream from that isn't from an actual ice cream store." Millie huffed a little and shook her head. "I have never seen it in a grocery store or anything. Keys is such a hater of it." Millie didn't really understand why he didn't like bubblegum ice cream. To her, it was the perfect flavour of ice cream and she wasn't going to deny herself of it.

"When I broke up with some shitty guys that cheated on me, Keys never had bubblegum ice cream. He literally had to drive me to an ice cream parlour to try and make me feel better."

"What worry about the other dancers? Yeah, I do actually but it doesn't help that there's a serial killer apparently hunting us here at this studio. I've checked at the other studios across town and they haven't been having most of their dancers turning up in garbage dumpsters." Dylan sighs and walks over to the bar at the side of the room starting to stretch to cool down "You know I would be careful if I were you when you walk home and don't let anyone follow you there. I would like it if the newest dancer to our group ended up dead so soon after coming here." He chuckles and shakes his head as he walks over to her "I could walk you home if you live within walking distance."

The silence that briefly settled between them was enough to soothe their nerves for a moment, yet, they kept shaking, but that came for a trauma too deeply anchored within them. So deep it would take more than just soft words and a hug to cure it. However, nobody needed to know about this. In fact, those who knew could be counted on the fingers of one hand. Daryl, Lucky - if a dog only counted - and themselves. No one else.

They did not want to tell Lorraine, but their situation was nothing alike. Nevertheless, the woman did her best to comfort them and let them know they were safe anyway. Hyacinthe did not even know why they had panicked all of a sudden. Maybe it was being without their boyfriend for the first time in over a year, maybe it was the way the house looked extremely similar to the one they had grown up in, maybe a little bit of both.

They did not even know why they had said they did not know what home felt like, because they did. Oh, they truly did. The past year had been just like a dream. And Daryl had become their home. But the child in them, the six-year old was still looking for the home he never grew up in. "Yeah, being a child sucks," they replied in a soft voice, trying to make up for their outburst. "But you'll find your home, I'm sure. I..." They cleared their throat, looking for a way to make a point without giving out too much of their life. "I didn't really have a childhood. I moved out at sixteen and have pretty much been on the road since then. I found my home last year. He's pretty much everything I have." A pause. "I guess what I mean is it takes time, finding your home. But we all will."

Lorraine had a feeling that there was something deeper going on and when she saw them shaking and hearing them say in such a sorrowful voice it made her want to comfort them even more. Especially sense Hyacinthe was usually so composed and chill it was alarming and concerning.

She immediately got a little closer to them not to close afraid she would be crossing boundaries especially sense they were having a meltdown, but close enough to let them know it was okay,” hey…hey it’s okay you have nothing to be sorry for okay you did nothing wrong not in the slightest,” she spoke to them in a soft and caring manner.

“I somewhat understand what not feeling like home is…trust me I do…I came from a wealthy family, but I turned away from them…even what they promised me…because with them it wasn’t home…it never was…and so I kind of get where your coming from…not really feeling like anywhere I go it’s not…so I get ya,” she added softly as she opened up to them a little bit.

Dylan looks at them with concern and then goes and gets a chair from the side of the room, carrying it back over to them "Here, maybe if you sit down then you won't be so tired anymore and we can talk about your lead for the next production." He sits down on the floor beside them, crossing his legs under himself as he relaxes there, perfectly at ease "Then you can go home and get yourself some sleep... or is there something else that's bothering you."
