March 2nd 1316 saw the death of Princess Marjorie Bruce daughter of Robert the Bruce at the age of only 19.
Marjorie may have been a princess, but her short life was marred by tragedy from her birth, she was the only child of the 1st marriage of Robert I, The Bruce and was probably born in December 1296, the same eventful month that Edward I of England, the self-styled 'Hammer of the Scots', invaded Scotland and laid siege to Berwick.
At the end of June 1306 the 9-year-old princess, together with her stepmother and other women-folk of The Bruce's family, were sent for safety to Kildrummy Castle, escorted by Nigel Bruce and the Earl of Atholl. It was intended that they would then take refuge in Orkney until times were easier, but the English army was already at Aberdeen and the royal ladies moved on to Tain, north of Inverness, still hoping for a boat. Here they were captured in the sanctuary of St. Duthac and sent to Edward of England, then at Lanercost Priory in Cumberland. They were separated from each other and Marjorie was sent to a convent, where she remained until her release 8 years later.
She was not yet eighteen at the time of the battle of Bannockburn, 24 June 1314. One of the heroes of that great victory over the English was her second cousin once removed, Walter Stewart, 6th Lord High Steward, some four years her senior, whom she married in the following year, within a year she was with child.
Whether through rashness, fearlessness or ignorance of the possible consequences, Princess Marjorie went out riding near Paisley while heavily pregnant. Her horse, taking fright at something, reared up, Marjorie was thrown violently to the ground and immediately went into premature labour. Her only child, the future Robert II, was delivered at the roadside by Caesarean section (the first authentic record of such an operation being performed since the birth of the eponymous Julius Caesar). The beautiful Marjorie died within a few hours, aged only about 19 years, her last words are reported to have been 'He's a laddie; I ken he's a laddie; he will be king'. Her improbable dying prophecy eventually came true, but not for another fifty-five years.
A cairn at the junction of Dundonald road and Renfrew Road in Paisley is said to mark the area where she fell, it reads.....“Near this spot the princess Marjory Bruce was fatally injured by falling from her horse 1316. Her son born posthumously became Robert the second First of the Stewart kings of Scotland”.
Now that's the traditional story about Marjorie Bruce, however more recent historians say she may have actually survived the birth of her son, perhaps for as long as 18 months after, they can't agree on this though, some are saying she still died due to coming off a horse, others don't go into the detail, no matter what, she still died at a young age.
Marjorie Bruce was laid to rest in Paisley Abbey.

Ostar and Nabuka
Settlement, Formation, and Foundation
The landmasses of Ostar and Nabuka were first settled around the 6000s BCE; and by the 3000s BCE, the region was believed to have been governed by numerous and ever-changing small kingdoms and republics.
Founded initially as a kingdom in the 2840s BCE, the city-state of Motan became a Republic in 1482 BCE, and then an Empire in 389 CE. Between 391 and 392, well-organized conquests gave the Empire direct control over all of Nabuka and Ostar. In the 920s, the Motanian Empire began building its first settlements along the East Coast of Canticula. And another Imperial conquest expanded Motanian borders Westward over North Canticula, where they eventually came face-to-face with the Kingdom of the Great North, who was expanding its colonial territories Eastward. The two rival powers grew at odds with each other and almost fought a terrible war, but negotiations and diplomatic comprises were formed, allowing the two parties to co-exist peacefully. In the 1070s and 1080s, the Great North withdrew its influence from Canticula while leaving independent protectorate states in its place, the latter with whom the Motanian Empire was required to adhere to non-expansion compromises. Otherwise, the Empire maintained its borders until 1209 CE.
Peak Society
The Motanian Empire experienced unprecedented growth in its economy and political presence between 850 and 1200. A large scale construction project chartered by the Imperial government expanded its capital, Motan, tenfold, and involved the completion of the colossal Imperial Stronghold in Northern Motan, finished in 860 CE, and the completion of the equally impressive Market District in Southern Motan, finished in 872 CE. In 880 CE, the Great Causeway, lined with shops and living places, was built over the harbor between the North and South districts of Motan proper.
Economic prosperity and political power were at its peak for the Motanian Empire beginning in the early 1200s. However, there was also growing economic equality and worsening corruption within the Imperial government. Worst of all, Emperor Ryshak Otamus was continuing a kleptocratic status quo that involved keeping loyal Imperial Generals under the discipline of a favoritist mentality. In other words, each General thought he was right with the Emperor while the others were wrong. Furthermore, military and naval forces were stretched and strained, primarily with fighting a group of sea barbarians known as the Vandalians.
In 1206, Emperor Otamus died, leaving no heir to replace him. In accordance to Imperial protocol, a Provisional Regent by the name of Istis Bystan ascended to the primary role of governance but served only the role of trying and appointing a candidate and his family most worthy of earning the sovereign Imperial title. Such a process was expected to take years.
Fall of the Motanian Empire
With Motanian Generals engaged in mutual but civil rivalry, military forces stretched to leave the city of Motan proper, itself, the least defended of the entire Empire, and no living Emperor, the Vandalians seized the opportunity and orchestrated an attack on the Imperial Capital. After thorough planning, skilled concealment, and slipping past front lines undetected, the Vandalians launched an aerial and naval attack upon the Imperial Capital with 10'000 of its own fighters on the night of 11-12 April 1209. Within hours, the Market District and Great Causeway were destroyed, and the Imperial Stronghold occupied, the latter of where Imperial Legion General Orman Korpcheck was killed, Provisional Regent Bystan committed suicide, and the Vandalians assumed a new government under the leadership of King Vandalish.
On 13 April 1209, the Ostarian Imperial General Kistor Mart arrived in Motan, where he defeated the Vandalians and gained total control. However, such a gain was challenged by the Nabukan Imperial General Kreytor Nolan, who arrived later and engaged the Mart's forces in brutal conflict. By 14 April, the Nolan had the Northern Imperial Stronghold and General Mart the ruins of the Market District. The next day, General Mart received reinforcements and was able to retake the Imperial Stronghold. However, on 20 April, Imperial Navy General Mortinhand Tolmay and his forces arrived to the ruined Imperial Capital, where he convened with General Nolan and launched a counter-attack against General Mark and his forces. This battle lasted until 24 April, when General Tolmay and General Nolan succeeded in taking all of Motan as well as the Southern portions of the landmass of Ostar.
In May 1209, General Mart convened with the East Canticulan Imperial General Tanner Haedric and returned to Motan with reinforcements, retaking the occupied Ostarian territories and the ruined Southern Market District of Motan. In June, however, General Haedric was overthrown by the Canticulan local population, who then established the Republic of Laye. Seeing that this undermined support for General Mart, Generals Nolan and Tolmay retook all of Motan as well as the entire landmass of Ostar, defeating and killing General Mart in the process.
In September 1209, General Tolmay, betraying an unofficial diplomatic alliance, launched an assault and overtook the landmass of Nabuka in an attempt to defeat General Nolan. The Nabukan General was prepared for this, however, and launched a counterattack. By October, General Nolan retook Nabuka and the Imperial Stronghold in Northern Motan. For the next four years, fighting would continue between the two Generals while occupation borders remained in an immovable gridlock.
1213 to 1300
In May 1213, labor uprisings emerged across all of Southern Canticula and very quickly spread influence to the North. By September of that year, such sentiment reached Ostar and Nabuka, where renegade soldiers led by Verak Nulman, who supported such a labor movement, overthrew and killed Generals Nolan and Tolmay. However, in October, Ostarian and Nabukan nationalist forces emerged to counter the labor movement forces, and captured all of Motan as well as the surrounding territories. In November, nationalist forces in Ostar drove labor movement forces completely from the landmass and established the region as the Federal State of Ostar, to be governed by an incumbent-appointed presidential council (an authoritarian government) in what remained of the Market District of former South Motan, now named the city of Aldonya. In December, a similar event occurred in Nabuka, except that the labor movement forces were able to hold their ground to the North and establish the Confederation of North Nabuka. Meanwhile, the nationalists to the South formed South Nabuka, governed by a system similar to the nation of Ostar from the former Imperial Stronghold, now named the city of Kronlon. Over the next fourteen years, North and South Nabuka would be engaged in constant warfare while its border would remain in a relative gridlock. Similarly, North Nabuka would also be fighting the nation of Ostar, allied with South Nabuka.
In 1226, as a consequence for having a corrupt government voting to supply aid to Northern Canticula during the Great Continental War (1221-26), the Republic of Laye was divided into three territories by the victorious Southern Canticulan powers. In 1227, the Congress of Circlaria, on behalf of now-questionable accustions of the nation giving aid to the Vandalians and their allies, launched a cooperative assault upon the Confederacy of North Nabuka, toppling its government and establishing a Federal Republic in its place. Negotiations and treaties would govern peace between the new nation, Ostar, and South Nabuka.
A pro-democracy uprising toppled the nationalist government of South Nabuka in 1251, leading to the establishment of a new Republic. In October of that year, the new South Nabukan Republic voted to join the North and form a single Republic of Nabuka with its capital in Kronlon. A similar movement occurred in Ostar but failed to toppled its nationalist government.
In 1291, working class insurgents retook both Aldonya and Kronlon as well as the Southern portions of Nabuka and Ostar, establishing the Southerly Confederation of Ostar and Nabuka.
1300 to Present
In 1314, a military coup took place, driving Southerly Confederation leadership from the city of Aldonya. The area South of Aldonya became established as the City-State of Kysornen, while the Southerly Confederation retained its territory to the North and East as well as its Ostarian territory to the West. In 1343, however, an aggressive entity known as the Esurchians, responsible for the establishment of this new City-State, migrated to Ancondria as part of an international agreement. This left the City-State to be divided into the Four Democratic Counties: North Aldonya, South Aldonya, West Aldonya, and East Aldonya.
In 1347, national representatives from Nabuka and Ostar held a special Conference with the Canticulan Union, where it was agreed to separate the Southerly Confederation into the Southerly Confederation of Nabuka and the Southerly Confederation of Ostar. The nation of Ostar to the North would become a Federal Republic while all other countries in the Ostar-Nabuka region would be governed democratically. Furthermore, a peace agreement was signed between all the countries.

Te Wairoa Buried Village: a Maori village obliterated by an 1886 volcanic eruption.
Located 24 kilometres south-east of Rotorua, Tarawera is a curious-looking mountain, with several large domes and a broad, flat top.
This distinctive profile formed during eruptions around 1314 AD.
However, early Māori and the Europeans who arrived in the 1800s did not realise that it was an active volcano and, in June 1886, it came to life in a violent one-day eruption – the deadliest in the history of New Zealand settlement.

ineffablefool’s 2019 fanfic post
I started writing Good Omens fanfiction in my head, while trying to sleep, on the night of June 30th. I put the first actual text down on virtual paper (using the sticky note app on my phone) on July 1st.
My AO3 account had to go through the queue for creation, but I officially joined up on July 15th, and posted that first fic on the 17th.
I have been writing and posting fanfic for six months, and according to AO3′s count, have put up precisely 151249 words. Now, that’s... not accurate, because I have 18 advent ficlets up, each of which have about 15 words of not-story preamble, plus some song lyrics and such here and there. But I am pretty sure that there are still fully 150k legitimate words of Soft Zone(TM).
That’s a lot. I feel pretty accomplished.
Here is a list of everything, oldest first, WIP last. Every single story is completely asexual, and every single story is completely fat-positive. That’s the Soft Zone(TM) promise.
Thank you to everyone who’s been riding along with me in 2019. I hope to bring you even more words in 2020.
Something That Keeps You Here (T, 4880 words) A love-confession fic where Aziraphale is worried that his corporation is too soft, but good news! It isn’t!
They Are A Pale Picture Of You (T, 4567 words) Kind of like the first one, but from Crowley’s POV -- a love-confession fic with a self-conscious Aziraphale.
Calling You An Angel, Calling You The Nicest Things (G, 1464 words) A lIght-hearted established-relationship fic revolving around pet names.
Hoping For The Chance To Start (G, 713 words) A Crowley’s Flat After The World Doesn’t End ficlet with light mutual pining but no romantic resolution.
And I’ve Waited For You (G, 1844 words) A love-confession fic with a bunch of pining Crowley up front.
Log Of Events In A Soho Bookshop (G, 1184 words) A light-hearted established-relationship fic where Aziraphale gets really distracted by reading.
Spoiled, Sweet (T, 1804 words) A love-confession fic which was written just because I got one moment stuck in my head and had to shove the entire rest of a story around it. Features pining but also silliness.
For Want Of A Scone (T, 3566 words) A lightly piney but mostly breezy love-confession fic. The first time I started getting really obnoxious about the fat positivity (and then I basically never stopped, and also won’t).
Crowley Wakes (G, 1604 words) A sort of angsty piney thing where actually there’s no need for pining at all. Crowley is kind of a disaster sometimes.
A Plea, A Petition, A Kind Of Prayer (G, 3607 words) Fairly heavy angst by my Soft(TM) standards. A dickwheelie letters fic where Aziraphale finds a bunch of mysterious unsent love letters from the 1800s and then shows them as a curiosity to Crowley. I wrote a handful of the letters and they are redolent of conifer.
Then I Knew, Oh Then I Knew (G, 3536 words) A love-confession fic with just a smidge of corporation angst from Aziraphale.
Tattlebones (G, 3345 words) A silly, breezy love-confession fic revolving around a goofy stunt and a plastic skeleton.
Armor Of Righteousness (G, 3209 words) A somewhat dramatic Protective Aziraphale love-confession fic. Exists because I couldn’t stop thinking about this sketch by speremint.
My Heart Your Home, Your Shape My World (T, 4974 words) As of when it was posted in August, my most blatantly yell-it-to-the-rooftops fat-positive fic. Established-relationship fluff, non-sexual intimacy, lots of softness.
Your One Pet Name For Me (G, 2615 words) A love-confession fic that I basically wrote because TheLadyZephyr got me thinking about pet names.
A Very Peculiar Feeling (G, 2639 words) A love-confession fic where Aziraphale can sense something from Crowley which definitely isn’t love, nope nope.
Sometimes The Truth Is Like A Second Chance (T, 3118 words) A love-confession fic where Crowley has an accidental fake boyfriend, like in this Tumblr post.
All Sorts Of Fascinating Things (T, 6855 words) Established-relationship crossover fic with Star Trek TOS, although it’s barely a crossover in that no important Star Trek characters have lines. Remember the episode “Shore Leave”? Yeah, it’s that episode.
So Soft, So Warm (T, 1314 words) An established-relationship very fluffy, very lovingly fat-positive fic.
A Snowy Night In Soho (T, 2463 words) An established-relationship very fluffy, very spitefully fat-positive fic.
To Carry All My Love For You (T, 6268 words) A love-confession fic where Aziraphale has large arms, with folds and lots of stretch marks and lovely things like that, because an anon asked for it.
It’s Beginning To Look A Bit Ineffable, I Suppose (T, 14653 words) Probably complete because I don’t expect I’ll do the prompt for the 31st -- 18 holiday-themed ficlets based on drawlight’s prompt list. Mix of established-relationship and love-confession; mix of canonverse and my INNW human AU.
If Not Now, When (T, WIP, 71027 words currently) Currently-updating human AU, 24 chapters posted thus far, 26 written, and 28 total expected. Crowley is trans and ace and falls hopelessly in love with a customer at the coffee shop where he’s briefly working. All the obnoxiously adoring fat positivity you can handle, plus Battling Personal Demons and the occasional stop-in at a very silly tabletop RPG game.
(Fun fact: my earliest stories were written with canon Aziraphale’s appearance in mind! The first one where I can for sure remember my visibly-fat-Aziraphale headcanon coming into play was For Want Of A Scone, although that doesn’t mean I hadn’t been spoiled by speremint’s lovely art earlier.)
(Additional fun fact: I hope you are having a lovely day, night, or other time period!)
#ineffablefool original post#let me know if i got a link wrong there are like 30 of them so i probably did#you can rebagel this if you would like! sometimes posts are kind of weird to rebagel but i don't think this one would be

The Ladies ♕ Queen Consorts [11/25] ↳ Elizabeth de Burgh (c.1289 -1327), Queen Consort from 1306 to 1327
Elizabeth de Burgh was born in the year of 1289 to Richard de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster and Margarite de Burgh either in Down County or Antrim County, Ireland. She descended from a powerful Irish noble family and was a god-daughter of Edward I of England. In 1302 when Elizabeth was thirteen, she married Robert the Bruce, who was fifteen years her senior, likely at his manor of Writtle in Essex, England. At the time Robert was supporting Edward I and the marriage is thought to have been arranged by the King, as a way of securing the Scottish noble to his cause. Eventually events in Scotland would force Robert out of his allegiance with England and after a murder and much fighting, he gained the Scottish throne. On 25 March 1306, Robert was crowned Robert I, King of Scots, with Elizabeth at his side crowned, Queen of Scots. The coronation was only the beginning of trouble as it was in direct violation of English claims of suzerainty over Scotland and in June of the same year, Robert’s army was defeated at Methven. Elizabeth, her step-daughter and sisters-in-law were sent to Orkney for safety and tried to escape when English forces seized the castle they were staying at, but were captured and sent to England. The Queen of Scots was treated more kindly than the others; during the eight years of their imprisonment, she was moved occasionally from place to place. At Burstwick Manor in Holderness, Yorkshire, she wrote to the Edward I, complaining that she only had three changes of clothes, and no bed linen. In 1312, when she was moved to the Tower of London, her conditions improved as she had six attendants and received an allowance to pay them. Two years later, on 24 June 1314, Robert defeated the English at the Battle of Bannockburn and there was a prisoner exchange. Elizabeth, including the rest of the Bruce ladies, were released and the queen was finally able to have her own legal and lawful standing at her husband’s court. Elizabeth gave birth to three daughters Margaret, Matilda, and Elizabeth, as well as the first recorded set of twins in British Royal history: John (who died young) and David (who was later crowned King David II). On 27 October 1327, Elizabeth died at Cullen Castle in Banffshire at the age of thirty-eight. Her body was interred at Dunfermline Abbey. Eighteen months later, Robert died and was laid to rest beside her.

Was a bit lazy to go to those fancy websites to explain this battle 🤪 but it’s a pretty good description of what happened. Go Scotland 🏴

Philippa of Hainault (June 24, 1314 – Aug. 15, 1369) Queen Philippa was the wife of King Edward III and the daughter of the Count of Hainault; she was from an area that had once been ruled by the Moors. According to the website Englishmonarchs.co.uk, prior to marrying Edward III of England, Edward II sent someone to meet the woman who he wished for his son to marry. When the man returned, he noted the following: “Her eyes are dark. Her nose is fairly smooth and even, save that is somewhat broad at the tip and flattened, yet it is no snub nose. Her nostrils are also broad, her mouth fairly wide. Her lips somewhat full and especially the lower lip…all her limbs are well set and unmaimed, and nought is amiss so far as a man may see. Moreover, she is brown of skin all over, and much like her father, and in all things she is pleasant enough, as it seems to us.” No contemporary images of Philippa exist; but the ones that are now propagated show a very standard, delicate featured, Caucasoid woman, absolutely nothing like the woman, the little “brown” girl described above. ----------------------------------------------------------------- #aboriginalppl #blackamoor #blackcodes #blackwallstreet #buytheblock #capturedland #decolonizeyourmind #democracyisalie #economicempowerment #entrepreneur #indigenousppl #intergenerationalwealth #jimcrow #kkkristianity #massincarceration #melanoidnation #miseducationofthenegro #politricks #psychologicalwarfare #radicalchange #redlining #reparations #riseup #sheeple #schooltoprisonpipeline #systematicoppression #thisisamerikkka #whitesupremacy #whosnationalanthem https://www.instagram.com/p/B7MwT_YF3wz/?igshid=15z5t2h96kr93

On May 2nd 1316 Edward Bruce, brother of King Robert the Bruce, was crowned High King of All Ireland.
Bold, quick-thinking and utterly committed, Edward was Robert Bruce’s only surviving younger brother and right-hand man. A veteran fighter, Edward was a key figure in the desperate years of guerrilla combat before Bannockburn, besieging and capturing a number of castles in western Scotland. After the slaughter of his three brothers and humiliating capture of his mother and sisters by the English, the conflict had a keenly-felt personal edge.
It was Edward’s actions which triggered the battle of Bannockburn. In 1314 Edward held Stirling Castle under siege. He made a deal with the occupying commander, Philip Mowbray that unless the castle was relieved by the English by 24 June, then it would be handed back to the Scots. This spurred Edward II into action: the battle was on.
Edward commanded one of the three divisions of Bruce’s army. He led a tight-packed schiltron of spearmen who saw off the English vanguard on 23 June.On 24 June his schiltron advanced relentlessly, driving back the disordered English cavalry and slaying the reckless Gloucester. In 1315, Edward invaded Ireland, then under English rule, as part of Bruce’s campaign to defend all Scotland’s borders against repeat invasion from England.
Edwards claim to the Irish throne was not just one of a conquering force taking Ireland by force, being descended from Aoife MacMurrough, Edward could also claim a lengthy royal Gaelic Irish ancestry that included Brian Boru and Dermot MacMurrough; and also the Hiberno-Norse king Olaf Cuaran. He, along with his brothers, was also descended from Kings/Lords of Galloway, who were themselves a branch of the same Kings of Mann and the Isles which produced Somerled, progenitor of Clan Donald, Clan Dougall, and Clan Ruari.
He proclaimed himself high king of Ireland but was killed in battle three years later.

The Irish National Lottery is the state lottery of Republic of Ireland. National Lottery was established in 1986 as a way to help raise vital funding for good causes in the Republic. Ticket sales for scratchcards began in 1987 and were soon followed by the classic game, Irish Lotto, in March 1988. In 2014, the Irish government sold the lottery to Premier Lotteries Ireland, a private company whose investors include the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, who own the Camelot Group responsible for running the UK National Lottery.

Scripture Reading Plan
In order to get the full benefit of working with a journal in your daily devotional time, after browsing the reading plan, I would suggest that you take the time to go back to the journaling instructional page by Clicking Here.
Make sure that you do not allow the reading plan to become a burden to you, approach it with excitement, knowing that the Lord will use it to enhance your Christian walk with Him. Simply mark off the days you have read, and if you've missed any days and if you are able to make them up without it being burdensome, then by all means go back and make up the ones that you've missed. All too often with reading plans, by missing days of reading, a person can feel like they've failed or let the Lord down. They reason within themselves that they have too much to make up and then quit the program altogether. You need to know that's exactly what satan wants you to do! He knows that the Word will have great impact on your life if you continue with it, and you'll be much more difficult for him to deal with!
If you begin feeling like this, then don't worry about what you've missed and just begin again on the current day and don't worry about making up the lost days - it's okay. You'll become better at this as you go along. Remember, you are developing a new discipline in your life that the Lord wants you to achieve. He desires for you to reap the many benefits that will come to you through the knowledge of the Word. So just keep starting over if you need to, asking the Lord to help you, until it becomes a daily routine. I am confident you will eventually adjust as you begin to realize the many benefits that come from a continued application of the living Word of God.
When you begin your daily reading, may I suggest that you take a moment and lay your hands on your open Bible and ask the Lord to reveal His glorious Word to you that day. Thank Him for His presence and for His teaching and instructing ministry to you, and have an attitude of expectancy as you read so as to receive your personal nugget for the day from the Scripture reading plan. Realize that as you read you are not alone, you are reading as a student being taught by the Spirit of the Living God. How wonderful!
If you will highlight the current month below, then copy (ctrl-c) and then paste (ctrl-v) into your word processor, you can print out the current month and then cut it out in a 2 or 3 inch wide strip to place in your Bible as a book mark so you can refer to it from day to day, marking off the days as you go along.
I am sure you will find this to be one of the finest reading plans available. It is by far the best I have ever seen.
