23DEC2021: From Whole Foods, I continued my Westbound cycling/descent into the Rio Bravo/Rio Grande flood plain, turning left/South on Doniphan Drive. “Rosa’s Cantina” (immortalized in Marty Robbins’ song “El Paso”) was a brief photo shoot before I entered a protected bike/ped route. I was rolling well, and finally joined the very poor Paisano/US85 at Executive Center. I did turn left/North onto Spur 1966, glad to get away from this winding/unsatisfactory/hazardous/dangerous 3-mile/5-km stretch of divided asphalt. With two hours of Sun left, I cycled as directly as possible to Border Bicycle, an up-and-coming important shoppe on the upper Eastside. 23DEC2021: Another great day here in our “¡Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juárez y Las Cruces!” The white/feral/roaming/free-range momcat kept the stone wall in place while I rolled out. I began with a withdrawal from excellent TFCU, then extensive cycling (10miles/16kms) West to the Crazy Cat Cyclery World HQ (Baltimore/Stanton), where I enjoyed the camaraderie of excited /enthusiastic employees who were busy on bikes. I also enjoyed coffee & cookies, put out for the holidays. Very nice! Feeling great, I continued West on Stanton, finally merging into traffic on Mesa/Tx20. That, too, went quite well, and made good time to Whole Foods. Unfortunately, that became a most frustrating experience; none of the items my most favorite/number one son had purchased at the silicone valley Whole Foods were available.
