The new tax season, TY 2022-2023, has already started at the beginning of July 2022 as usual, and it is going to last till the end of June 2023. Truckers and trucking taxpayers must report their Highway Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) for the whole tax period in advance around the beginning of the tax period. As per the IRS regulations, the last date to file and pay the form 2290 truck tax for this tax period, TY 2022-2023, is August 31, 2022. So, truckers should file their form 2290 tax returns to the IRS on or before the last date and get the IRS stamped schedule 1 copy to operate their trucking business on the public highways smoothly. Truckers and trucking taxpayers should remember that form 2290 HVUT due doesn’t fall on the due date of the vehicle’s registration. Form 2290 HVUT is absolutely necessary to register your new vehicle or renew your existing vehicle registration on its due date. So, tuckers should report form 2290 HVUT for every tax season before the deadlines, which is irrelevant to the heavy vehicle’s registration due date. @pay2290 @thinktradeinc @tax2290 @irs2290 @irs2290 @2290efile @2290tax @bigwheels2290 @trucktax2290 @trucktax2290

Meet the USS Wisconsin, an Iowa-Class Battleship launched on December 7th, 1943, the second anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. She served throughout the Second World War, Korean War, Vietnam War, and was recommissioned and modernized in 1988 to serve in the Gulf War, before being permanently decommissioned in 1991 and serving as a museum ship at Norfolk, Virgina, from 2006 onwards.
After her modernization, she was armed with 9 16in Mark 7 guns, 12 5in Mark 12 guns, 32 BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missiles, 16 RGM-84 Harpoon Anti-Ship missiles, and 4 20 mm Phalanx CIWS systems.
After the Brotherhood of Steel recommissioned and made mission-worthy the Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier USS George Washington, which they rechristened the BoSS Renewal, they set to work recommissioning the Wisconsin, under the previsionary designation of the BoSS Retribution. It is a slow-going process, as the George Washington was a fully-functioning vessel that simply had to be repaired of 200-odd years of disuse, whereas the Wisconsin has had entire systems removed and weapons systems disabled, which will take enormous amounts of manpower and effort, as well as retrofitting the ship to function off of a water-seal reactor similar to that of their flagship carrier.
The annexation of Pittsburg and its steel and ammunition plants have made the process of recommissioning the Wisconsin much easier on the Brotherhood, and she is predicted to be ready for launch sometime in 2290.

#truckers that have a #highway #motorvehicle with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more registered in their name must file Form #2290 and pay the tax. However, on vehicles they expect to use for 5,000 miles or less (7,500 for #farm -vehicles), they're required to file a return, but pay no tax. If the vehicle exceeds the mileage use limit during the tax period, the tax becomes due.
The filing #deadline is not tied to the vehicle #registration date. Taxpayers must file #Form2290 by the last day of the month following the month in which the taxpayer first used the vehicle on a public highway during the taxable period, regardless of the vehicle's registration renewal date.

IRS 2290 Form Due Dates
The IRS 2290 form is a tax form for heavy vehicle owners with a taxable vehicle gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more. You can decide to file your form 2290 utilizing both online and conventional methods.
If you wish to file online, you must use an e-filing agency with IRS authorization. In this article, you will learn about the IRS form 2290 due dates to stay away from the stringent IRS penalties.
When Should You File Your Form 2290?
You must file your IRS form 2290 for Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) annually. The tax period for form 2290 begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th of the following year. The due date for filing form 2290 will be August 31st of every year.
However, if you have purchased a new heavy vehicle, your due date will be the last day of the month following the month of first use.
For example, if you purchased a new vehicle on February 16th, 2021 and drove it home from the dealership over a public highway, you must file your form 2290 by March 31st, 2021.
Note: If the due date for filing form 2290 falls on a legal holiday or a weekend, then the deadline will be the next business day.
Filing Form 2290 After the Deadline
If you fail to file your form 2290 within the due date, you will have to pay the IRS late-filing penalties as well as interest rates.
The IRS imposes a penalty of 4.5% of the total tax you owe, which will accrue every month for up to 5 months.
You will have to pay an additional monthly penalty of 0.5% of your total tax amount for failure to make the HVUT payment.
Apart from this, you will face an interest rate of 0.54% per month.
Besides the penalties, not filing your 2290 form can also lead to other issues down the road.
For example, you must carry your new Schedule 1 copy when you operate your vehicle on US public highways. Your form 2290 proof of payment is also required if you wish to register your vehicle or renew the license plates at the DMV.
Choose an IRS Authorized E-file Provider
The IRS knows that it can be hard for truck owners to file their IRS 2290 manually. Thus, the IRS has approved a few websites to file form 2290 online.
To e-file, you must create an account in any of the IRS authorized e-file service providers. Since you are giving a great deal of data, choosing a secure web-based filing site with the best security frameworks is crucial.
Certain e-file service providers offer extra advantages such as free VIN corrections and unlimited refiling to make filing easier for you.
 In Conclusion
When you file your form 2290 on time and pay the HVUT return, you ensure that your business stays compliant and doesn't run into any trouble with the IRS.
As a truck owner, being aware of the different methods of filing and the due date will help you file your form 2290 with ease and get your form 2290 schedule 1 instantly.
