so gang....there's this historian...who's only had approximately 21 minutes of screentime...
unhinged rambling over a fictional character under the cut
I have always loved ulysses ever since the prologue came out back in december 2022, but after my recent rewatch in preparation for chapter 1 coming out later this year, my interest in his character has sparked into a full-blown hyperfixation??? it feels like ulysses wilhelm was designed specifically for me I'm going to be so honest. like, there's the surface level being that he's a boyfailure twink and that kind of character always seems to attract me, but everything else about his character from his design, his personality, his voice, the little aspects of him like the fact that him specifically noting down classmate birthdays and him updating a common phrase to sound more modern shows a genuine desire to connect with his class despite his clear social ineptitude, and also just...him having knowledge about the internet enough to know about internet arguments despite disliking computers?? silly ass. I've also like, never really seriously headcannoned a character with a mental disorder before, even ones that I have myself, but I am actually being so serious when I say that ulysses is literally just my inattentive adhd manifested into a person. I have not felt so represented in so long, and its by a character who doesn't even canonically have it, and I think its very special and a testament to how talented the writing crew behind p:eg is that they can make me feel that or anything I'm typing in this post despite, again, this character only being on screen for 21 minutes he is literally just me in every single way possible, actually. we literally even have the same birthday. I'm not a supernatural person, but like..I think me saying that this character was made for me might not be hyperbole after all. ...he's also just so fucking cute. Can I say that?? LOOK at this fucker??
his slightly scruffy hair that looks like he just woke up from one of his naps, his small but silly little smile, his dumb eyebags, his fucking VOICE, his lame as fuck sense of humor, his sprites, his dumbass sleepy noises, the fact that he's the shortest out of all the male characters, his everything?? I want to be his friend and listen to him yap about history, and I also want to make out with him sloppy style. I am sleepy all the time but he is sleepier, which means I can spoon him. I'd imagine his lifestyle of constantly being in his office doesnt really lend itself well to him receiving affection. he is probably very touch-starved... what if he encountered my persona. would he initially think the lack of sleep has finally caused him to hallucinate, considering I doubt you see slutty demons with big wings in real life. when he finally realizes that I am actually there, would he be fascinated at the sight of such a nonhuman creature being right in front of him? a new piece of history he has yet to discover? what if we become best friends. what if we become best boyfriends. my brain is moving at 200 miles an hour and I cannot stop it, I need him so fucking bad. if you have read this far, I'm not sorry and I'm not ashamed for my actions. except if you happen to be doctor pap (ulysses' va), in which case I politely ask you that you forget everything I have said today. thanks for reading
#i've also been calling him “my prince” when talking about him with my friend... i wonder how he'd respond if i actually called him that#...would he be flustered?? like that one sprite that was shown to us along with the grace one?#i need to stop#also to truly put into clear terms just how down bad I am for this man#whenever I am confronted with the knowledge that it makes perfect sense for him to die in ch1 or ch2 i feel actually anxious#like??? i dont get that way for characters at all#i should repeat#21 minutes of screentime#anyway cant wait to see my prince again on the 20th :3#project eden's garden#p:eg#ulysses wilhelm#p:eg ulysses

imagine aeron slapping davos tho 😭
anon’s referring to @ladymorghul’s great post here. That’s literally all I want, anon.
Like, imagine the first time Aeron slaps Davos. Maybe Davos corners him, tries to rile him up. They used to play together, they were friends, and Davos knows that under all those knightly manners and anxious avoiding, he’s still the same Aeron who once punched him so hard he thought he bit off a piece of his tongue. The same Aeron who used to laugh until he snorted. The same Aeron who liked to brag about how he knew the lay of the land so much better because he was always on his own on horseback like a great rider. (Practicing, away from the others so no one could see him fall. He’s not that great of a rider, actually.)
Davos keeps pushing at him until Aeron snaps and slaps him and it’s like they’re seeing each other for the first time since they were torn apart. They haven’t been able to stay away since.
I like to think about their ugliest fights. When they just lay into each other and dredge up their greatest fears and biggest insecurities. Davos is tired of Aeron’s denial and Aeron is tired of Davos constantly pushing, as if it’s that easy. (Imagine falling in love with the boy who serves or may even be related to the man who killed your uncle and wants to kill the rest of them too. There’s some serious baggage here!) Aeron loves him so much he’s willing to walk away to save him. So that Davos doesn’t become a traitor or a kinslayer. (Doesn’t he care? About ruining them both? Maybe Blackwoods really are a bunch of heartless and immoral heathens.) And Davos just wants to spend every minute they can together. (Isn’t that enough? Isn’t Davos enough? He’s not stupid, he’s aware of the reality of their circumstances, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to give up without a fight. He’s not a coward like Aeron.)
They blow up, Aeron slaps Davos and Davos slams him into the wall. Aeron’s practically yelling until Davos puts his hand over his mouth to shut him up. Aeron likes secrets, he likes hiding, why start yelling now? Then Aeron bites him and instead of snatching his hand back Davos leans into it, lets him bite until he draws blood. Lets Aeron push him to the ground where they fu[gunshots].
#I’d like to reiterate that they had only 2 minutes and 21 seconds of screentime#Like the delusion is bad over here I am so sorry#davron

21. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Down with Love (2003)
Genre: Comedy/Romance
Rating: PG-13
Director: Peyton Reed
Starring: Renée Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, Sarah Paulson, and David Hyde Pierce
Synopsis: Aspiring author, Barbara Novak, trades her small-town life for the Big Apple in order to promote her new book, "Down with Love." The book stirs up controversy with its message to help women achieve equality by saying no to love and yes to sex. When Catcher Block, resident playboy and New York's #1 journalist, is personally affected by this shift of the sexes, he plots to expose Barbara Novak as a fraud by getting her to fall in love with him.
Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character Catcher Block. Catcher is famous for being THE socialite of New York City. Women want him, men want to be him, and he's highly respected in his field as a journalist. Yes, life is perfect for him...until Barbara Novak shows up out of the blue and turns society on its head! His pride and reliance on the status quo can't bear to see this happen. So, he does what any logical man would do: wage a battle of the sexes! Ewan surprisingly speaks in his Scottish accent for this role! He also speaks in a southern accent which isn't any good, but I'm going to give him a pass this time because of the context. He has two shirtless scenes and LOTS of kissing scenes. I'm talking straight up making out, y'all. There are sex jokes galore and he gets to make his fair share of them. He doesn't have any sex scenes but he does have an implied erection scene. Lastly, he has a stellar song and dance number. His acting performance is incredible. I also just want to add that he is outlandishly handsome in this movie. I don't know how to explain it, especially because he's handsome in practically all his roles. He's a naturally handsome guy, but the way his attractiveness was amplified ten-fold in this movie did not go unnoticed by me. Please tell me if you understand what I'm talking about.
Screentime Percentage: Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 47/102 minutes making his SP 46%.
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan in general? 1000% YES! Is it worth watching in general? Yes!
Where to Watch: "Down with Love" is available for rent on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Google Play Movies and TV. You can watch it for free on soap2day.
Closing Thoughts: This movie is an homage to the sex comedies of the 1960s and is played out like one. It takes place in 1962 and the way it transports the audience back to that time is nothing short of fantastic! The costumes, editing, set design, manner of speech, soundtrack, everything down to the last detail was dripping in nostalgia and it was a blast! I feel the need to stress though that this a SEX comedy. It's about sex. It's all the characters talk about, it's the driving force of the movie, and dirty jokes/sexual innuendos are the foundation of it. Just think it over before popping it in for family movie night.

How much Aziracrow can we hope for? (I did the maths)
tl;dr It's 17 minutes.
I went over both seasons of Good Omens over the past few days and I wrote down how much screentime Aziraphale and Crowley have in them. Then I did some maths…
*Btw. I've rounded my equations for clarity because I reckon tiny fractions don't matter that greatly. I have a whole excel chart with the scenes length counted in seconds and meticulous calculations based on that if anyone wants to see.*
I'll start with season 2 because it has spoiled us rotten. The season (without the opening and ending credits - though I did include e6 credits up to the point where their faces blur out) lasts 259 minutes. The scenes with Aziraphale and Crowley take up 118 minutes of that. That's 45.5%. If you apply that number to the 90m, you get:
90*45.5% = 41
Forty one minutes of Aziraphale and Crowley's shared screentime. Depending on how you take it, it doesn't sound like much (in fact it's 21 minutes less than all their screentime in the minisodes), but it's like an entire season 2 episode made up entirely out of their screentime.
Except…
Over a half of their screentime (62 minutes to be exact) in s2 is in the minisodes. And, let's be real, we're not getting any of that with just 90 minutes to tell the story of another Armageddon't. So! Season 2 minus the minisodes is reportedly 142 minutes. 56 minutes of that are taken by Aziraphale and Crowley in scenes together, which gives us 39.5%
90*39.5% = 35.5
That's roughly 35 minutes 30 seconds. Still doing okay with that? You'd better, because we're about to leave our sweet delululand.
Season 3 was never supposed to be like season 2. That was our "gentle, quiet and romantic" intermission, a backdoors prologue to the final season. Season 3 was always supposed to be like season 1: another mad-paced stop-the-apocalypse narrative. Just like the majority of season 1 focused on Adam and a plethora of side characters that had a role to play in stopping the Armageddon, the 90m will have to tell the story of the Second Coming and show how those characters move across the board towards stopping it (let's remember that Shadwell is low-key confirmed to return, so yes, we are getting thost side characters and each of them will need screentime); as well as the child of god themself, of course.
So, let's look at the numbers for s1 instead. Season 1 lasts a little over 306 minutes (again, minus opening and ending credits). The scenes with Aziraphale and Crowley take up 73 minutes of that. That's 23.8%.
90*23.8% = 21.5
Twenty one minutes and thirty seconds. Ouch.
Unfortunately, we're not done yet. 30 minutes of Aziraphale and Crowley's shared screentime is in the first half of e3 (the much-loved through-the-ages sequence) and the second half of e6 (the body swap plotline) - both of which only found their way into Good Omens because there was time left. The scenes in total last 56 minutes (btw I decided to count in the whole epilogue, minus the Ritz, even though a lot of it shows the aftermath for other characters - if I'd counted that into the "main" season, seeing as a lot of it is in the novel, the numbers would look even worse), leaving 250 minutes of the actual season 1. The scenes with Aziraphale and Crowley now take up a bit under 48 minutes. That gives us 19%. So, ready for the final equation?
90*19% = 17
Seventeen minutes of Aziraphale and Crowley's shared screentime.
That's less than 2/3 of the through-the-ages sequence. It's roughly as much as there is of them in s1e1 (only the episode itself is 47 minutes long - it's the second most Aziracrow-heavy in all of s1).
And just so we're clear, when I jotted down the scenes to include, I took ALL scenes that have both Aziraphale and Crowley in them - not only those that are about them, when they are talking or otherwise interacting, focused on each other, but also e.g. when Crowley talks to Gabriel and Aziraphale stands in the background, or when they bring back Job's children. I did that because MS and DT are brilliant actors and I firmly believe they can saturate each such scene with love and longing so much that it'll leak off our screens. See? I can be quite the optimist.
So yeah, enjoy your New Year and the upcoming 6 weeks of filming, I guess.

The little robber-girl was about the same size as Gerda, but stronger; she had broader shoulders and a darker skin; her eyes were quite black, and she had a mournful look. She looked earnestly at Gerda, and said, —
“They shall not kill you, even if I do get angry with you; for I will do it myself.”
"The Snow Queen" (Danish: Snedronningen), fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, was first published 21 December 1844 in "New Fairy Tales. First Volume. Second Collection", 180 years ago.
I wanted to commemorate its anniversary by drawing my favorite character from the story, and one of my favorite fictional characters of all time, The Little Robber Girl, as she appears in 1957 Soviet animated adaptation by director Lev Atamanov. Design of the character belongs to artist Alexander Vinokurov.
This character, with her short appearance in the movie, had impact on me back in childhood: she’s feisty, violent, and self-serving, and has grown up among the people with no moral conduct, but she’s able to recognize love and courage, and be magnanimous and caring. And in the movie, she’s got a convincing arc from antagonist to ally in just about few minutes of screentime.
One person once observed that I seem to like “dark characters with warm hearts”, it may be accurate in that regard.

Basically continuously during this campaign posts have popped up about BH's not talking as much as the Mighty Nein, or the relationships not having as much depth.
And while this may be due to the plot structure or the character dynamics, I think it is easy to underestimate just how much the increase from an (average) of 6, to a 7 and now 8 player group has on the 'screentime' of individual pairings (pairing as in literally two people, not a relationship pairing).
So here is a mathematical breakdown of exactly that. The results might shock you!
Let's focus on the unique one-on-one pairings, so for example Chetney and Laudna, or Caleb and Beau, and limit us to PCs. I'll ignore trios and more because those get even more complicated, and the same principle applies.
Let's say that an average episodes takes 4 hours, and about half of it is dedicated to interaction between characters instead of combat, plot related stuff, etc, so about 120 minutes. These numbers are all arbitrary because it is all relative, but an example makes it easier to interpret. Let's also say for the sake of simplicity that each pairing gets allotted the same amount of screentime on average over all episodes.
The M9 had 6 PCs for most of the campaign. This means that there are 5+4+3+2+1= 15 unique pairings. If each pairing gets an equal amount of dedicated screentime, each pairing has 120/15=8 minutes of screentime.
Now take BHs. They usually had 7 PCs which means there are 6+5+4+3+2+1=21 unique pairings. Each has 120/21= 5.7 minutes of screentime.
So for each episode, each pairing of the BH has 2.3 minutes less than or about 70% of the screentime of a pairing in the M9, just because of the number of players.
So what does this mean?
If BH's pairings only have 70% of the M9s screentime, this means that for each M9 epsiode, BHs need 1,4 episode to reach the same amount for each pairing. Reversely, the amount of screentime that the BHs reach at say episode 100, is reached by the M9 as early as episode 70.
So in other words, in the 100 episode we've had of BHs, they've had the same amount of screentime as the Mighty Nein at episode 70.
So while it is true that BH don't talk as much, they also have literally less time to have one-on-one conversations.
Now with Robbie, the party has increased to 8, which gives us 7+...+1=28 unique pairings, which is almost double of the M9. (28 / 15 =1.86). So we need 2 BHs episode for each M9 episode.
Now of course, an episode needs to do more than just people talking to each other: the plot has to progress; plans have to be made; shenanigans have to ensue. But because the run time is limited, this only detracts from the time for individual pairings.
So while discussing BHs interactions, keep in mind that while there is only an increase of 2 players, that means we have twice as much pairings to deal with, and so half as much time for each of them to talk.
(For those curious, if we look at trios, so let's say, Veth-Fjord-Jester or Orym-Dorian-Fearne, it goes from 20 unique combinations for a 6 player party, to 56 unique combinations for a 8 people party. Yeah.)
#this math is wild y'all#it goes up so quickly#and the larger the group how quicker it goes#not quite exponentially#but there is probably a word for it#critical role#cr meta

I know everyone else is hyped as shit but I'm like 90% sure the sekai movie will be bad and disappointing
balancing at LEAST 21 characters in a movie with like lets say around a 90ish minute runtime (animated movies tend to not have very long runtimes) or something is uhh not going to work i'm pretty sure the result will be way to fast paced or just not ever have the characters have a chance to interact or half the cast just wont get screentime
doesn't help that the fact the two existing anime have way too fast pacing (i know they are shorts and one is just a glorified highlight reel but still) it does not inspire confidence
also the movie will suffer with the dilemma of whether or not it should be open to newcomers where either they have to dedicate some of the runtime to introducing everything again making even less time for stuff to happen or they just throw you in so you literally cannot watch it unless you have played the game already
I'm not against a sekai anime but i see it working way better as a 12-24 episode anime than a single movie where you can actually have time for everyone to do stuff along with being able to split the runtime between the groups better
and to be clear i don't just wanna be contrarian personally i would absolutely LOVE to be wrong but i feel almost no hype twords this lol
tldr I know we are all hype but i need you to step back and realized there's a good chance this is goin to be not good if you think about it for more than 12 seconds

Castlevania Season 4 is an anomaly, because when put next to Season 3, it feels like either Season 4 was finalized before it's predecessor, and they had no time to update it to be more congruent with Season 3's developments, or they were exhausted after finishing Season 3, took a long break, and they lost all of their animation copies and continuity notes, so they had to write follow-up stories from their memories, but they also wanted to tell something new by then. Know what I'm saying here?
I do. I believe two factors impacted Season 3 and Season 4:
Season 3 was not meant to exist. The story was effectively done by S2, after Dracula's death. Or rather... the three protagonists were done, as per Dracula's Curse - Hector and Isaac should have, by all means, transitioned into the Curse of Darkness story. But the original script, the one revised by IGA, only accounted for a Dracula's Curse adaptation. I believe there is a reason S3 was announced in 2018, but was released in 2020: that suggests production issues. Basically, Ellis received more freedom, but he also didn't know what to do anymore, and it's written all over the season. It's obvious they (Ellis and the Deats brothers; I don't think Shankar had much input by this point) were all throwing shit at the wall to see what stuck, only vaguely inspired by the idea of a "vacuum of power" left by Dracula. The Trephacard gang, in particular, has screentime only because they couldn't be dropped as characters, but they really should have been cut.
S3 was criticized by the fans for being simultaneously bleak and a waste of time, and Ellis was accused by dozens of women of sexual misconduct. The story needed to have a happy ending that would make up for all the previous cynicism, and it needed to be wrapped up quickly to cut ties with the man (they couldn't replace him, I suppose: Nocturne is proof of how recognizable Ellis' style is). Season 4 was painfully rushed as a result.
I've read multiple times the theory that a 5th season was planned, and on Wikipedia they say this:
"On March 27, 2019, Netflix announced they had renewed the series for a fourth season,[21] stating on April 16, 2020, that it would be the series's final season.[22] On July 31, 2019, it was reported that amid a wave of sexual misconduct allegations being levelled against the show's creator and showrunner Warren Ellis, he would no longer have any involvement in developing subsequent Castlevania series after the fourth season's release.[23]"
And yeah, the timeline to say "welp shit better be done asap" matches.
I don't believe S4 was planned in advance. It is possible that as S3 was being written, they started to have a general idea of the kind of character development some characters would go through: for example Alucard was pushed into misanthropy by the end of S3, but with the idea that he'd eventually rise above his father, which happened, although in the span of one episode. I'm on the fence about Isaac learning to "live", because that feels like a response to his massive popularity more than something planned in advance, even though admittedly a few seeds were planted in S3. And as for Hector, I am positive the original idea was for him to go on a rampage in the castle, finally growing into the gigachad his fans wanted him to become, but someone in the crew fell in love with the Lenector ship (or saw how much fans loved Lenore), and they swerved his story into that direction at the last minute. That love story is no product of Ellis' pen, I can guarantee you: he only provided the sassy dialogue. basically what flynn did in frontiers lmao
(Trevor and Sypha did nothing relevant, ofc. Trevor was given the Death fight out of pity and I'm also positive about this)
#anti netflixvania#i would love to know more details#something happened in production i can feel it!#but no one has talked about it!#there are only rumors of ellis purposefully tortuing alucard and hector to spite shankar#but shankar was also kicked out of the franchise and i don't think he can talk about his experiences#something tells me those two had to be kept from biting each other's head off and that would explain the mess in the writing#not sure about the share of responsibility for the deats#aside from them cowardly deflecting criticism for s3 because 'kojima brought the horny'#but i think they have much more creative control for nocturne and it shows

in-yō / in-yō solovyova headcanons/rewriting/etc.
(november/21/1990)
scorpio sun | capricorn moon | capricorn rising
INTJ - 5w6 - sp/sx - 153 - RCOEN - Phlegmatic-Choleric
general headcanons:
• cis, she/her, aroace lesbian,
• when she was younger her care-keepers used to take her to a lot of psychiatrists because they were afraid inyo might have had something from antisocial spectrum,
• she is descendant of siberian indigenous people (the nenets/insert other uralic nation here) that assimilated with russians (so that's where her last name came from) and then they moved to tokio. so inyo is third-generation immigrant (this term sounds so american but i couldn't find better words to describe this),
• inyo just like tiger and miko was growing up in the orphanage but she haven't had anybody to help her with a second language so she learned russian all by herself,
• of course she also knows english, so it means that she knows 3 completely different alphabets,
• when she is stressed out, she starts quoting shakespeare in her head (this is hamlet most of the time, but also macbeth),
• her favourite movie is audition [1999],
• silver >>>>>>>>>>>>> gold,
• even though she doesn't seem to be that type of person, she is maximalist, she needs to have everything under her hand,
• also she is interested in fashion history,
• she has ocd 😄😄,
• she has obsessions related to taboo topics,
• one of her compulsions is opening and folding the umbrella and counting sounds of footsteps under her breath,
• i think she also has social anxiety,
• bcs of the mix of her ocd and anxiety she sometimes has panic attacks (especially when sexual intrusive thoughts pop out in her head),
• she is picky eater and hates fastfood,
• she only drinks real-real coffee. she doesn't like cafes like starbucks, costa etc.
throughts the series (og tv show, rewriting):
• (season 6, hot property episode) she is presented as this mysterious female coach that meets with suspicions from others,
• so, before cognito played against strikas both of the teams met and inyo talked to shakes, convincing him to look up for a new house and gave him a penelope's bussines card (she rented an apartment from her for the duration of her stay in south africa),
• yeah, inyo and penelope are two different people, but hold on,
• the next day, she and shakes met accidentally at penelope's office, so while inyo was there bcs of a "payment problems", shakes wanted to talk about penelope's house offers,
• when penelope and shakes left for a few minutes, inyo copied from penelope's phone other clients numbers (including shakes) so she could impersonate as one of the employees of penelope's company (or penelope herself) and mess up with shakes,
• after some time, inyo dressed up as the notary arrived at shakes's new house and started installing small cameras,
• she didn't even used it to spy on him, she just informed penelope about damage shakes and spenz were doing and what was caught on the cameras, so penelope terminated the contract with our beloved male mary sue,
• oh and cognito won in this episode.
• (between season 6 and 7) inyo would be more of a minor but still important character here. i think she would just ghost everyone in this series. also bcs of the fact that we all loved the idea of helena being part of iron tank team, inyo and helena have the longest screentime together, next to the interactions between inyo tiger and miko,
• (season 7, mind over matador) very similiar situation to what happened to shakes in previous season, but this time inyo impersonate doctor carmen (who is also a completely different person and not inyo's alter ego), so when the real doctor carmen is not around, inyo undercover is fucking up with el matador's head,
• aileen was the only one that had odd feelings about this, bcs doctor carmen she knew was never much of a hugger.
relationship with:
• helena: open interpretation tbh, they can be queerplatonic but also queer in general. helena probably was the one who get attached first. they are like moon and sun, winter and summer. and bcs they are around the same age and one of the few women in super league they were forced to cooperate. but inyo trusts helena more than anyone, even tho she would never admitted it
ofc they are like crack version of romeo&juliet and whenever inyo visits helena colonel looks at her like: 😤🙄😀
• altivo: tbh altivo is inyo's rival but also internalized crush and it would be so obvious for everyone and they would look at inyo like: i know what you are👁👁, whenever inyo would plot something against her,
• others: ?????
fashion headcanons:
• she doesn't buy anything from fast fashion stores, she wears tailor-made clothes,
• has thing for gloves,
• a lot of lace decorations,
• corsets!!!!
music headcanons:
• the biggest classical music enjoyer you ever know,
• r&b.

Since I'm a deeply unserious person, and there's been a lot of discourse about how much time and attention different characters have been getting in the 2nd half of G Witch, so while rewatching the show in preparation for the final episode I decided to time how long Miorine appears for in each episode of the show.
Now to be clear, it's not measuring the exact seconds that Miorine appears on screen for, I've measured the lengths of scenes that she is in. So, for instance, if Miorine is off-screen but another character is talking to her, I've still counted that in the timer. Also, since this is just me pressing the start and stop button on my phone's timer these numbers are pretty rough but should still give a fair approximation of how big of a factor Miorine is in a given episode.
Just to be clear this data of course is incomplete, not just because we still have one last episode to come, but also because this kind of stuff is better understood in comparison to other characters on the show. Like, it's entirely possible that most of the major characters in Cour 1 experienced a similar contraction of time from Cour 1 to Cour 2 when the show had more plotlines to juggle.
But that being said, yeah as a Miorine fan these numbers annoy me. With one episode left to go, Miorine has 25 less minutes' worth of scenes in Cour 1 compared to Cour 2, and even if with a big role in the final episode in the best-case scenario it probably ends up closer to 15 minutes less, which is a huge chunk of screentime in a show with 22-minute episodes.
Like the fact that she didn't appear at all in Episode 20 after the previous Episode ended on a very significant cliffhanger for her character is probably the most annoying part. And like, I'm very much aware of the fact that there was a lot going on in Episode 20 and cuts needed to be made somewhere, but Miorine is the deuteragonist of this show and is one of the characters that shouldn't be making way for screentime for secondary characters the way she has. Like, seriously they never even show her leaving Earth or processing what just happened. That all happens off-screen and she's just back with the Benerit Group for her like, one scene in Episode 21.

hello ily thanku 🥺🥺
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
well every time something's happening it's always the bylers or the steddies making noise. the harringrove gang can def be annoying too but something about the way the others think theyre like. morally correct for their ship etc is just like. give me a fucking break. ur litereally on tumblr dot com. wait actually not a ship technically but the people that are obsessed with the fruity four. literally shut uppppppp
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about?
feel like most of my opinons aren't common enough to weigh in here so idk? billy would never settle for steve fucking harrington? HEATHER would never settle for robin!!!!!! billy and max's relationship is COMPLICATED and the duffers did not get to/try to examine and show that in their limited screentime. so all the idiots that are obsessed with saying max hated billy/was happy he died, read the fucking room!!!!
11. number of fandom related words you have blocked?
lol
usually i don't blacklist things cos usually i'm chill but my dash had so much of them and i found myself like. getting actively annoyed everytime they were on my screen. so i started with blocking steve and was like wow. it's so nice here now that he's gone. lets see if i can make it even better.
unfortunate side effect of this is that i barely see any billy content now cos he's unfortunately linked hand in hand with the others. i miss him so much. it's okay tho cos i can cry into ur inbox about him and send my friend 25 minute audios about him and i made another billy sideblog thats locked that i can post headcanons and fic-ish things on so!!! it's fun still!!!! i may post on this blog like once in a blue moon but he's literally on my mind 24 hours a day. has been for almost five years now.
18. it's absolutely criminal that this fandom has been sleeping on...
six feet under crew. billy, heather, chrissy, and eddie all died. max i'm pretty sure technically died so she's an honourary member. yeah i know others died too but anyway. ANYWAY i think they deserve to have fun and start shit together yknow!!!! i think they'd all fuck each others lives up but also be there to help pick up the pieces!!!! stopping myself here becos otherwise i will not shut up. wait also just max, chrissy, and heather...... el too if we're feeling giving. i just think they'd have fun together!!!!!
WAIT ALSO tommy and carol. BRING 'EM BACK. the trio of billy, eddie, and tommy? but also ALSO the nightmare that would be max, heather, chrissy, and carol.
the idea of billy and max living at the trailer park and neil and susan fucking off? maybe susan stays? idk but just the idea of everyone coming to chill at their trailer or going between theirs and eddies, even though their trailers can absolutely not fit that many people??? friday nights getting fucked up and faded. making terrible life decisions. making permanent life decisions. no i need to shut up now....... fuck.... spending the hours between 11pm and 2am trying to nail down a tattoo design before struggling through work for the weekend, complaining about their bosses, making fucking disasters in the kitchen, carol and tommy surprisingly being the only decent cooks, max having a knack for baking. trying to plan concert trips, talking about how differnt their lives would be if they had went to go to college instead. bingewatching terrrible television. semi decent box-dye jobs. terrible at-home haircut jobs. high school spitting them out and them trying to find their feet in the real world, them all getting full time jobs and trying to like. fucking survive. find a reason to get through the fucking weeks. SHUTTING UP NOW i swear.
19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...
idk if i would say i'm ashamed or horrified or anything?? but idk i like dark fic/dead dove fic so like. that one w billy and the demodog? a fav. also i fucking love age gap so i would easily read billy/karen if it was out there. it is not. i've checked. wait forgot max/billy is usually frowned upon. read that easily too.
21. part of canon you think is overhyped?
i dont know a single person hyping up stranger things or it's plot lines/story arc's? fruity four i guess cos after season four that amount of ppl that made that a Thing? crazy.
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing?
'how does billy have fans he literally deserved to die becos [usual list of reasons here]' banging my head against a wall. move on with ur life. everyone else has.
'[insert harringrove hate here]' when ppl post rancid takes on them and then i have to defend it even when i don't care for it like. please. did u not see the shower scene? the basketball scene? the fight scene??? open ur eyes. i may be a hater but i'm not stupid. they fucked for real i'll admit that. the worse the take is the more i'm like damn maybe i do ship them maybe they ARE gay as shit for each other and married right now.
#msgs <3#lucdarling#wheres that post thats like u can be a hater but u need to balance it out with being a lover#i try to post my shitty takes as little as possible and hope that by making gifs and shutting up most of the time#that maybe thats the lover part of me coming out#and posts like these. are just. a blip in the radar u know!!!!!

21. part of canon u think is overhyped!! GENERATION LOSS RANBOO OHHHH MY FUCKING GOD LPEASE im sorry i love him too but can we please literally think about anyone else. ever. please. no not charlie. pick some other guy. pleas all my Other Character centric mutuals are dying + i need more people talking abt my guys hetch and the employees. and frank. and ceo i said it. talk abt the guy w 2 minutes of screentime.. go on (slash silly)
16. can't understand why so many people like this thing: CTOMMY BLUE CARDIGAN. if ur one of my friends reading this youve probably heard me get really mad abt this at at least one time because oh my god i genuinely do not understand why everyone is so OBSESSED w the blue cardigan i get its friend's wool but like im so sorry i rlly dont think he would like wool texture . maybe thats projecting i just dont think he'd have fun w that. shit is always sticking to wool things too ik his ass would not be having a good time picking all the sticks and pokey things out of it after his escapades (there are so many fanon/popular hc ctommy things that i cannot stand at all but i dont want to make this post longer than it's already gonna be . so)
#sorry i'm also doing like collab writing for encore rn so its taking me a second to get to these LMAO but u know#asks

last week i made a whole post about how gills' plot - which arguably is the most immediately involved and moving forward of the three riders - only takes up 3 minutes of screentime at best and here he is, only now appearing 21 minutes into the episode. i love this show

4. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Nothing but the Truth (1995)
TRIGGER WARNING: In this review, I mention sexual violence because that is what this movie is about. I don't go into great detail. Still, if the topic of sexual violence/assault is triggering for you then this is your warning to scroll past.
Ewan McGregor's first project of 1995 was the pilot episode of British television series Kavanagh Q.C. titled "Nothing but the Truth." You might be asking yourself, "television series? I thought those were going to be excluded?" You're right and the reason I included this episode in our movie review list is because it has a runtime of an HOUR AND FORTY-ONE MINUTES. Where I come from, we call that a movie. The episode is also a standalone project, meaning that you don't need to watch the whole series or even an additional episode to finish the plot or understand the narrative. Everything you need to know for the episode happens in the episode.
A couple fun facts before we get started!
In this project, Ewan works alongside Geraldine James again. You might remember her from our previous review as the ex-jazz singer in "Doggin' Around." I thought that was cool! Here, she plays Eleanor Harker Q.C. (Queen's Counsel) who is the prosecutor attorney.
If you've ever heard Ewan say that he met his wife while working on a project, THIS is that project! This is where he met his first wife, Eve Mavrakis, who is credited as the Assistant Art Director. The episode aired January 3, 1995 and six months later they were wed.
Let's dive in!
Movie Review: "Nothing but the Truth" stars the late John Thaw as the titular Kavanagh Q.C. James Kavanagh is a senior barrister and arguably the best. While he couldn't be more adept at his job as a barrister, the same cannot be said for his job as a husband and father. The demands of these roles pull him in different directions and cause friction between him and his wife. The main plot is about an affluent young man accused of sexually assaulting the woman for whom he works. Naturally, it's a he said/she said situation. He claims that it was a consensual fling while she claims the opposite. The evidence corroborates both of their stories to an extent which makes it even harder to know who is being honest. As one of the best lawyers in Britain, Kavanagh is tasked with defending the accused. Unfortunately, defending a man accused of rape only creates more cracks in the foundation of his familial relationships. Armed with his intellect and belief in the inherent goodness of man, Kavanagh is determined to find nothing but the truth.
Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character David Armstrong who is our young man accused of sexual assault. He has a posh English accent and is incredibly soft-spoken. He also has a stutter which sounds a bit forced at times. This role is my absolute favorite for his long, silky, hair era! We get a few shots of it in the half-up/half-down style but for the majority of the film it's all down. They must have given him a full on blow out because that hair was thick, long, and luscious! His hair needed it's own acting credit. Ewan also showcases his acting skills really well in this role. I've felt for a long time that Ewan performs best in roles that require subtlety and he does a great job in this one. On a more critical note, even though he often plays characters who are depicted in a negative light, those stories tend to require you to suspend your disbelief. That is not the case with this movie. This is a serious topic and the movie handles it with the seriousness it deserves. If Ewan brings you comfort and you only engage with his more wholesome roles, then this might not be for you. There are no graphic depictions of sex in the movie but there is sexual audio twice and in the court scenes the characters go into detail about the incident.
Screentime Percentage (All numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number): Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 21/101 minutes making his SP 21%.
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is this movie worth watching for Ewan content alone? Yes, even with the low percentage! Again, his hair is *chef's kiss* 🤌. We get to see him sweaty and working in the dirt as well as dressed up in a three piece suit. There's also a brief makeout scene and shirtless scene. Is the movie worth watching in general? This is very difficult for me to say but my answer is no. My opinion is that the movie is /only/ worth watching for Ewan. If he wasn't in it or was in it even less then it'd be a skip for me. The premise is interesting but the movie can be slow in places. Also, maybe it's just because this was the pilot episode or the legal system being different in Britain, but there were significant issues not addressed in the court scenes that make the ending a little less satisfying. If you like crime shows, then you might like this regardless of the Ewan factor. But be warned, this is not a flashy, fast-paced drama like Law and Order SVU or Criminal Minds. It's an old, British, drama about an old lawyer.
Where to Watch: "Nothing but the Truth" is currently uploaded for free on YouTube through the channel "Ewan McGregor Vault". Just search "Kavanagh Q.C. Nothing But the Truth with Ewan McGregor". If you want to watch the full series, all episodes are also uploaded for free on a YouTube playlist through the channel "o p i u m 1". Just search "Kavanagh Qc".
Conclusion: "Nothing but the Truth" is a hidden gem in Ewan McGregor's career. Unlike other crime shows I've seen, this movie was unique in that there wasn't very much information the audience had that the characters didn't. You really have to pay attention, trust your gut, and hope the verdict is the right one. This also makes the movie great for rewatches because you'll start to notice things in the background that add to the story. I highly suggest watching this with another person because if you're like me, you're going to have a lot to talk about as the truth is revealed.

For the character ask meme! Izzy, and (any of these numbers, your choice lol) 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 21?
(character ask meme)
Well I'm not not going to do all of them! I'd never pass up a chance to ramble about Izzy.
14. What outfit would you really like to see this character wear? Or what’s your favorite outfit of theirs?
Well first of all, it's absolutely imperative that he gets his tits out. Other than that, there's not much to improve on; I love the leather pants, and he can keep the vest as long as he leaves it open. Maybe he could get one of those leather daddy hats? IDK, he already looks pretty perfect.
15. Favorite line of theirs?
That's a hard one! I think ultimately I'll have to give it to the "oooooh" from episode 2. There's something about the delivery that's just perfect.
16. What do you think would improve this character? Like, character-arc wise?
He's already perfect, so the only thing I can think of that would improve his character arc would be to give him more screentime and make sure to validate his feelings. (I live in constant fear that his suffering will be played as a joke in season two; some parts of season one already get a little too close for comfort with that).
Actually they should just make him the main character! I know the whole point of Ed and Stede is that they're horrible, insufferable, unlovable people who found love with each other, and I love that concept in theory but it also makes them so hard to watch 😭 The show would be so much better if they were just there in the background for a few minutes each episode and most of the focus was on Izzy and the other characters.
18. What’s something you associate this character with? E.g. a certain color, object or scenery?
Ever since I noticed that both the scenes in the show with a storm focus on Izzy (I think I have a post about that somewhere), I think of him every time it thunder. I have no coherent thoughts about it but there's something there with the symbolism.
19. What would the show/book/movie be like if this character wasn’t present? (if it’s not an OC)
Stede would die on the Spanish navy ship in episode three and the show would end there, since Izzy was the only reason Ed heard about him in the first place. (truly the biggest tragedy of ofmd is that Izzy accidentally orchestrated Stede and Ed's entire relationship).
21. Wild card! Talk about anything to do with this character! Anything at all!
uhhhh I love him <3
