#Book 19 in the #20booksin2020 #challenge #AConspiracyOfBones by @kathyreichs the special #Costco edition. Totally an impulse buy especially since I have 2 or 3 more books from the library that I still have because of #covid19 but what can I say? As a #Bonehead I can’t resist #TemperanceBrennan books even though the #DrBrennan in the books is different in some ways from #Bones on tv. I loved the progress in Tempe & Ryan’s relationship. After 3 years, I finally got to read this cute little book. Daming "awww" moments. Parang all you need to learn about life, nandito na. 😊 Super practical, easy to read, with cute illustrations too! Nakangiti lang ako the whole time. 😁 I was originally planning to include this in my decluttering sale, pero hindi na lang pala. 😁 It sparks joy in me so I'm keeping it. 🥰 Officially my 5th out of #20booksin2020. 15 na lang! A book that's sure to be on my TBR!

Cycles of the Phoenix by C.A. Nicholas is definitely the kind of book I will not be able to put down once I started it!

Just gave one read of the synopsis and I was immediately set to putting it on my Goodreads reading list.

What kind of thrilling experience would I get from this book?

I don't know, but I'm sure to find out!

#Book #16 in the #20booksin2020 #challenge #TheBestOfMe by @nicholassparks There was a time in my life when I basically inhaled #NicholasSparks #books At one point I had read every single one of his books that had been published at that time.!But life happened. Life got hard, and I made the conscious decision to stop reading books that make me cry. I’ve been hitting up the #library every month since December and checking out a handful of books at a time and kept running into books that inevitable made me cry even though I didn’t expect them to. Case in point: Khloe Kardashian’s book. I completely forgot her dad died of cancer 🤦‍♀️ IDK if I was incredibly hopeful or just plain stupid for thinking I was strong enough to read a Nicholas Sparks book again after all this years. Yes, I cried at the end. But I’ve read over a dozen Nicholas Sparks books to know his writing style and suspect ways he’d make me cry and I was right. But I still cried at the end even if it wasn’t a surprising ending. Not sure if I’m gonna be rushing to read another Nicholas Sparks book this year. TBH I’m probably reading a book about vaginas next. #Book 5 in the #20booksin2020 #challenge - #TheLineBecomesARiver Dispatches From The #Border by #FranciscoCantu I admit, it took me a longer time that I expected to get through this book because it’s a lot of heavy stuff in the pages of this book. Interesting read especially given the political climate we’re in right now. The author has ties to San Diego. #Lategram #Book 20 in the #20booksin2020 challenge is Troubling #Dominance in Sport: Deconstructing Curling Culture(s) through Narrative Inquiry by @rjn.darksports Up until a few weeks ago I had no idea such a study existed. Thanks to @goldlinecurling for introducing me to Dr. Richard Norman through their #sharethemic IG sessions. I think it’s super important, especially in light of the #BlackLivesMatter movement that people confront #racism head on. We can all learn to grow as people. It’s been frustrating that many in the curling community have reacted w/ “curling is so welcoming” & “there is no race on the ice, just the human race” when clearly there’s so much work to be done in terms of #diversity and #inclusion . . I highly encourage all curling nerds and curlers to read Dr. Norman’s dissertation. #Book #15 in th #20booksin2020 #challenge #Becoming by @michelleobama I had been wanting to #read this for a long time but was ‘t able to get my hands on it until earlier this month. The #covid19 #quarantine means no group exercise classes, dance rehearsals, or curling league, and the technical difficulties I was experiencing w/ the #virtualbroomstacking just made me want to return to Michelle’s book so I was determined to read and finish. I admit, I cried at the end of the chapter where #MichelleObama talked about her father’s passing. Death is still a sore subject for me even if my dad has been gone 5 years. Reading the book made me nostalgic for the 8 years the Obamas were in the White House. I feel like we live in the Twilight Zone now.
