He just is, have you seen him?
Ok, maybe I should clarify that it's s2 mephone specifically, but s3 mephone went to rehab and we're all watching him slowly relapse.

"It was amazing to work with Benedict on this. He was with us for one day and a lot of my scenes with him were kind of listenening to him tell his story... I mean, he´s such a skilled actor and is incredibly generous and fond. We had this sequence where we had to dance and we were all a bit nervous, a bit anxious but he just went for it, you know. He´s all about the work, yeah it was amazing, it was so great to work with him." x "We'd been shooting for a good few weeks. It was a Friday night. When we got to the dance part, we had ten minutes, two takes. The moon was so full, we put the music on and it was incredibly cathartic. I think as well because it was an intense shoot, and we just had this moment where we could kind of let go. Everyone was vibrating, which was nice. It gives such a huge release for the characters, it's that split second where they lose all inhibitions and forget the reality of where they are. And it was great that it was Benedict actually, because he just came in and he was like, 'Let's go!'." x - JODIE COMER, about filming with BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH.
THE END WE START FROM (2024)

The Hollywood Reporter
A Different Man’ Review: Sebastian Stan Drops the Mask in a Provocative Dark Comedy With a Heart0
Renate Reinsve ('The Worst Person in the World') and Adam Pearson ('Under the Skin') co-star in writer-director Aaron Schimberg’s twisted New York-set fable.
BY JORDAN MINTZER
JANUARY 21, 2024
Looks can be deceiving in A Different Man, writer-director Aaron Schimberg’s endearingly twisted take on actors, playwrights, egos and the plight of the profoundly disfigured.
Like the famous “Eye of the Beholder” episode of The Twilight Zone, in which humans turn out to be society’s freakish outcasts, this dark comedy suggests what happens when an aspiring thespian afflicted with neurofibromatosis manages to find a miracle cure, only to long for the life he had when he was still deformed.
The thesp in question — a nebbishy New York actor named Edward, or Ed — is played with tongue-in-cheek gravitas by Sebastian Stan, who dons several layers of prosthetics (courtesy of ace makeup designer Mike Marino) until peeling them away to reveal his true face. But that hardly gives Ed the life he bargained for, in a film that piquantly questions how others look at us and, more importantly, how we look at ourselves.
The fact that Pearson is stricken with neurofibromatosis, and that Stan wore tons of makeup to mimic that condition, may raise a few eyebrows. And yet A Different Man is very much about art imitating life and vice-versa, contemplating the different masks — whether real or artificial — we put on when going out into the world.
At first, the story plays out like your typical NYC indie dramedy, with Ed living in a grubby one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn while trying to make it as an actor. He has a nosy super, at least one neighbor who hates him, and there’s a leak in his ceiling that grows so big it risks swallowing him up. The catch is that Ed’s disfigured state makes him completely stand out, at least to the viewer. For those who already know him, he comes across as just another shy and curmudgeonly New Yawka.
Things start looking up when a new neighbor, the radiant Ingrid (Renate Reinsve, The Worst Person in the World), moves in next door. Like Ed, she’s an aspiring artist — a playwright, in fact — and the two soon hit it off, even if Ed is very much inhibited by his looks. Ingrid is more open-minded and curious, and one novel aspect of Schimberg’s script is how, unlike in David Lynch’s The Elephant Man, nearly everyone Ed meets treats him with respect and compassion.
Schimberg explored a similar theme, albeit in a more artsy fashion, in his 2018 behind-the-scenes drama Chained for Life. That film co-starred Adam Pearson, who many may remember from his haunting sequence opposite Scarlett Johansson in Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin, and who winds up stealing the show here as a totally charming and nonchalant threat to Ed’s newfound existence.
The failing actor’s humdrum life takes a major turn when he agrees to participate in an experimental drug program that could cure his condition. After several scenes of Cronenberg-esque body horror, he starts peeling away his tumors like a snake shedding its skin, transforming into a brand new person with Stan’s well-defined face.
You would think this would all be for the better, but as A Different Man goes on to reveal, things actually get worse. Ed soon comes to miss the man he once was, especially when Pearson’s character steps into the picture and very casually hijacks his life, including Ed’s burgeoning love affair with Ingrid.
That and other plot mechanics in Schimberg’s screenplay can seem a bit over-the-top, particularly when Ed begins to lose his mind in the third act as everything unravels. Still, the story’s twists and turns maintain our interest throughout, with the narrative taking on a cleverly deconstructed play-within-a-film format reminiscent, at times, of Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York.
The antics are captured in grainy naturalistic visuals by Wyatt Garfield (The Kitchen) and backed by a score from Umberto Smerilli that shifts between indie vibes and the classic melodies of Hollywood B-flicks. A Different Man shifts between several genres as well, but Schimberg manages to tie things neatly together by asking the same question, in various ways, until the very last scene: What’s in a face?

airing my grievances
| aug 1st, 2024
Tumblr media
i am in hiding from everyone in my life.
my friends (because i've been so stressed lately and i tend to turn into a hermit to cope)
my parents (hiding my distain, disgust, and disappointment of them that i have (re)uncovered in therapy)
my grandma (i cannot stand her views on life and the fact that she ties my self-worth to my weight)
my uncles (where do i even start????)
my therapist (i was walking down the street today with my parents and i saw her walking her dog? i didn't say hi as i was in shock + i was with my parents and did not want to start an uncomfortable dialogue that i believe would go something like this: my mom would ask my therapist too many personal questions about themselves and that would be awkward as it is indicative of not respecting the therapists personal life (are you starting to realize that my mom does not understand social boundaries?). my dad would not know how to act in this situation and would generally act as charming as a rock. i would be stressed out from how my parents acted in front of my therapist and would start profusely sweating more than usual (mind you, it was 30 degrees celsius and the antidepressant that i am on makes me perspire excessively although i did have a sweating problem long before i was put on antidepressants). i would also turn more beet red than usual (combo of slight sunburn + dehydration as i am depressed and not drinking enough water to save my life!). if it were me alone, i would take a friendly but cautious attitude: say hi but keep it brief. not a "stop and chat" because we all know firsthand from larry david that the stop and chat SUCKS. the "hi" shows that i am considerate enough to say hi, that i care about them, and that i participate in "normal" social conventions. the briefness shows that i respect my therapists' privacy as i imagine that it would be awkward as a therapist for patients to find more about ones personal life (awkwardness due to patients acting more comfortable (and not in a good way, like asking questions about the therapists personal life more in detail which is problematic as the session should be focused on the patient, not the therapist) and keeping a good work-life balance (it is imperative to be able to wind down from work and one of the best ways to do this is to keep the two lives separate!)
my emotions (i have a lot of difficulty physically expressing my emotions, whether that be through uttering words or expressions such as crying. i was on public transport today and i felt so upset about the situation with my parents that i wanted to cry. but i just couldn't. it would be too awkward for me. i hate drawing attention to myself, especially if it is pity. the imagined scenario: i would cry on public transport. the asian aunties would throw a begrudging look my way. the local crackhead may come over and bother me. someone may call the transit police and think that i may be contemplating death (because yay rails! also i am aware how this part of the scenario is extremely unrealistic but i cannot think of this situation in any other manner.) i would receive a lot of stares and some may try to help bc the culture in my country is way too friendly at times. either way, crying on public transport creates a lot of anxiety inducing scenarios. but not being able to express my emotions also has consequences. it encourages my further descent into emotional suppression and by practicing this repeatedly, it becomes a habit. the problem is that i am trying to live true to myself. being open with my thoughts, my emotions. but i cannot shake my social inhibitions. i wish i could lose complete control of my social inhibitions. i feel truly free when it occurs. i have broken free of my constraints. however, order has to exist in my world. stability is needed. ahhhhhhh contradictions !!!!!!
my habits (in talking about losing my social inhibitions, i have found ways to achieve this. having a mental breakdown, panic attacks, drinking, taking edibles. all very unhealthy and i cannot believe that i have picked up those last two habits. if you told me three years ago that i picked up these habits, i would not have believed you. i don't know if my consumption has become a problem but i certainly feel guilty about taking this. but this could be a result of my catholic religious upbringing that i am desperately trying to break free of. either way, i am in conflict with myself. how i want to live comes into conflict significantly with my guilt.
anyways this was a lot but i felt so scared and overwhelmed today. money stresses me out. why does simply existing have to cost so much money? let alone getting an education so i can get a "proper" job in the future. not to mention my constant overwhelming anxiety about not being good enough as a student to deserve to attend the institution that i am attending. i feel so stupid while the world around me is so intelligent. is it self-delusion? stress? or am i as stupid as i think? at least i am somewhat self aware. but with self awareness comes consistent stress and inner conflicts.
one positive thing today: i am cherishing my string lights, music, and my "jazz club" maison margiela candle that i received as a birthday present (thought i would mention that it was a present since i was just complaining about the cost of living again)
songs that define today: me and mrs jones by billy paul, it's not the same anymore by rex orange county, evergreen by omar apollo, and illusione perfetta by piero piccioni.
talk to you tomorrow!

White Picket Fence and All! - Part 2
Tumblr media
June 9, 2024
Happy 9th day into Pride, everyone! In yesterday’s blog about my white picket fence, I focused on one relationship where I had everything, but ended up losing all that I had. Today’s entry is more about the how and why I lost everything. One thing that I would like to note is right now I am sitting and staring at my computer screen. I’m struggling to start. I’ve come to understand that when I get like this, I know that something will eventually spill out onto my screen. I know that I will also feel better for having done so.
Yesterday, I wrote about how I met “Joe” and how our relationship went. To really go in-depth, I need to back up into the “kid in a candy store” phase written in my June 7th, 2024 blog entry. During that time, I had a teenage boyfriend situation with a guy close to my age. We hung out until I left to go back to college. I’ll call him “Rick.” Rick and I met at the Parkside Continental one night. I was with someone else, but wasn’t really into him. So, I excused myself and left to meet Rick, who was outside my apartment after I left the other guy go into his apartment. Looking back, I wasn’t really a nice guy - lying about feeling sick and that I wanted to go home. Nonetheless - that was my thinking back then. I wasn’t a really nice guy! Anyway, Rick and I played that night in his bedroom in his family home. The next morning, I met the family and was surprised at how open Rick was with his family.
Rick and I had fun together, the sex was hot and we would go out to the bars together. I remember a time, we were dressed in only jockstraps parading around Myrts and later the Backlot. Interestingly enough, I didn’t seem to have any inhibitions that I later developed. We parted ways when I went home to go to college. I also went home with a case of the clap because Rick and I had had a foursome with two other guys. My mother really gave me a hard time about it - having to go to the doctor, getting a shot, etc.
Anyway, I’ve already written about not wanting to be in colleges and quitting to return to Calgary to live my gay life. Rick and I didn’t reconnect as I had met another guy at the bathhouse and I started my second relationship with another guy. I saw Rick from time-to-time, but he was in his own world of hunky guys, working as a waiter at the Parkside and a new boyfriend. We eventually lost touch until about 7 or 8 years ago, when we had a breakfast in Las Vegas and caught up on our lives.
This second guy after Rick was five years older than me and to be honest, I’m not sure why we got together. I guess it was because the sex was good the first time. I ended up living with him for about six months in his mother’s house. That’s where I told my mother that I was gay.
When that relationship ended, I went back to really playing the field. I had sex with a lot of men and didn’t focus much on anything other than going out to bars, drinking, having sex and then going to work. I think that I developed a very hedonistic and rather self-indulging lifestyle that wasn’t conducive to growing as a person. I say this because, through that time and even into my third boyfriend, I was not honest with others, I cheated on him, judged others for who they were, put guys down and was downright rude to guys that could have been really close friends. This third boyfriend and I decided to be just friends, which we were until he died of AIDS in 1990. I am writing about all of this because I often wonder what would have happened if my life hadn’t taken a turn in another direction…
As I wrote yesterday, I met “Joe” and got into a relationship with him. During those first couple of months, I played on the side without him knowing about it. This was just before the whispers of the “gay cancer” were starting to surface in New York and San Francisco. Joe and I had unprotected sex for the first couple of years and we went on living our lives - our jobs, living together in an apartment and later a house together.
During the time of the apartment, something happened. We had just gotten back from Expo ’86 in Vancouver. One day, I got a stomach ache that progressively got worse. Since my doctor was on vacation, I went to a walk in clinic. The doctor who treated me, decided to have bloodwork done to find out what was causing the stomach issues. When she suggested that, I immediately said, “Well, in this day and age of AIDS, it’s important to know.” She immediately asked me if I were gay and I said yes. So she told me that she must test me for HIV. I agreed.
I went back to work and didn’t think much about it. Two weeks later, I got a phone call from the doctor. She told me that I was positive and wondered if there was anything else she could do. I just said no. I can remember walking home in a fog. When I got there, I told Joe that I was positive. He hugged me and said that we would get though this together. Joe got tested and was negative. Life continued on even though I didn’t really deal with the HIV issue. I just let it fester inside me. Poor Joe became very distant when it came to intimacy. It go to the point where he wouldn’t even kiss me. I felt so badly and likened myself to a leper. So what did I do? I went back to my old ways.
I started having sex behind Joe’s back. When we moved to Toronto, as I wrote in yesterday’s blog, I continued to cheat on him because we didn’t have sex anymore. I would go to the dirtiest bathhouse possible and have anonymous sex because I felt dirty and because I was a leper, I deserved to be like that. I really began to hate myself. I lost my job, Joe and I split because I told him in a counselling session that I didn’t want to be treated like a leper anymore. Joe pleaded with me to keep trying, but I would have none of that. I had already set my sights on another guy and thought this would be the time to split.
Needless to say, my life took a spiral downwards. I can remember hearing a newscast on the radio where the announcer said outright “If you have AIDS you will be dead in six months.” That one statement threw me into a deep, dark depression. My white picket fence had disappeared for good - at least that was what I thought.
I’ve already written about that period of life in my other blog: https://www.tumblr.com/otterenergy1962/614775925789294592/stage-two-act-three-silence-death?source=share. For Pride, I would like to acknowledge something in myself: I am who I am because of what I experienced in my life. It may be hard to believe, but HIV did me a favour. I became a different person. Who knows what I would have become if I hadn’t seroconverted? It might make an interesting blog entry to retrace my steps and conjecture what my life would have been like.
I’d like to end this blog entry with one idea: We are the sum of all of our parts, including experiences in our pasts. Shame and guilt can be big deterrers, preventing us from moving forward. I’m no longer ashamed of my HIV status. I don’t feel guilty for the things I did in the past because I learned and changed due to them. So when I say “carpe diem” every blog entry and every day that I live, I am really trying to seize the day and live life the best that I can.
Seize the day, everyone! I feel better having written this, as I thought I would. Happy Pride.

Blog - Title unknown
Sunday, May 12th, 2024
I woke up super late today. I decided to accompany my sister to a friend's birthday party whom she met through a guy who was heels for her. The party fast ended for us when my sister had a few too many tequila shots. The girlfriend of the birthday boy wasn't happy with how friendly my sister became after one too many shots of tequila.
I slept past my wake-up time to avoid attending church like I was going to do before we stayed up past 3 AM. There will be another weekend when I can do the things I plan to do again. The moral of the story is before I insert myself in other people's plans, set the ground rules before people get drunk so I can easily escape when I see the tail-tale signs of the demise of my plans.
Before this evening, I attended a pool party I waited for the previous weekend. I frequently ran into a group of guys at social event. I obviously do not fit the scene with my lack of awareness of freedom that pertains to gay “fun”. Did I not become comfortable enough, or did I need to lose my inhibition? I am slowly realizing instead of beating myself up for not being easily accessible to other people, the definition of sexual exploration, I embrace that I am OK without entering a social group that I do not care to deeply entangle myself with.
With my newfound inspiration for the "Sex in the City" as my muse, I left the pool party to go to the local erotica homosexual bar in downtown Phoenix. Where the men dance for a few bucks, and all the local boys meet once a weekend to support the local dancers for an hour. I saw a close friend of mine who is in a long marriage. I met his friends eager to catch the fresh meat in the market who happened to be us. My friend's husband, I could tell, was uncomfortably excluded from trying to connect the dots of conversations. He kept telling me how he was kept out of the loop. Is gay marriage one-dimensional, with one gay having total control of the situation passing control like a baton?
The single life seems like the most peaceful time of my life.

Instant Relief Methods on How to Get Rid of Tooth Decay Pain in 2024 Naturally
Say Goodbye to Pain
Tumblr media
What is the fastest way to cure tooth decay?
The quickest method for treating tooth decay relies on its extreme. For beginning phase rot, fixing it very well might be just about as basic as changing your dental consideration propensities. Concentrates on showing that cleaning your teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and flossing daily can prevent decay from deteriorating. Ordinary dental check-ups, about two times every year, can likewise cause decay early.
If tooth decay has advanced further, a dental specialist might have to eliminate the rotted piece of the tooth and fill it with a filling. This strategy is successful in preventing decay from spreading. In additional serious cases, similar to when the decay has arrived at the tooth’s nerve, a root waterway treatment might be important to save the tooth.
For certain cases, for example, when decay has seriously harmed the tooth, extraction (eliminating the tooth) might be the main choice. In any case, this is normally thought about when different medicines are impractical or have fizzled.

What Causes Tooth Decay?
There are plenty of bacteria in the mouth, some are helpful to us, and others cause harm. These harmful bacteria are responsible for the decay of teeth. The bacteria together form a film (plaque) and participate in making acid from the food that you eat, mainly from sugars and starch. This acid formed damages the teeth, which we see as decay. As part of a natural process, our teeth keep losing and regaining minerals. If we do not care for our teeth properly, it results in the loss of more minerals than we can regain, thus leading to tooth decay.

Let’s Explore some Natural Remedies for Tooth Decay
1. Clove Oil Magic
Clove oil, an active ingredient in many dental products, is the best at-home remedy for tooth pain, according to Huang. “It is a natural antiseptic that reduces pain and inflammation due to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties,” she says. “It also acts as a temporary pain reliever.”
The active ingredient in clove oil can be compared to benzocaine, the numbing ingredient in many dental gels. To use clove oil, she suggests soaking a cotton ball in it and applying it directly to the area of the toothache, or rinsing your mouth with it.
2. Antibacterial mouthwash
Like all mouthwashes, apart from giving you a great smell and minty breath, antiseptic mouthwash helps prevent infection by inhibiting plaque from building up around the teeth. Mouthwash also loosens up and helps remove any hidden food particles during brushing and flossing. Even better, this antiseptic reduces the chances of cavities.

In ketosis, the body switches from using glucose as its primary fuel source to burning fat for energy. This metabolic state can lead to weight loss by promoting fat burning and reducing appetite.

The Role of Ketones: Central to the ketogenic diet are ketones, which are molecules produced by the liver during the breakdown of fats. These ketones serve as an alternative fuel source for the body and brain when glucose is scarce. The primary ketone bodies include beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), acetoacetate, and acetone. BHB, in particular, is a crucial ketone that can be utilized by the body for energy production.
Essential Keto Gummies and Ketosis: Essential Keto Gummies are formulated to support the body's ketogenic state by providing a convenient source of exogenous ketones, primarily in the form of BHB. Exogenous ketones are ketones that are consumed externally, either through supplements or specific foods. By consuming Essential Keto Gummies, individuals can increase their blood ketone levels, potentially enhancing the transition into ketosis and sustaining it.

don't worry about it
From what I can tell, this is the culmination of a lot of work mostly out of Japan. Long story very short: sometimes animals grow extra teeth (hyperodontia), and sometimes they grow too few (hypodontia) or none at all (anodontia). By looking at what causes the extra teeth and where they come from they've zeroed in on one protein, USAG-1, that inhibits tooth formation. If you make a monoclonal antibody against this protein and give it to animals (mice, dogs) with genetic problems causing them to be born without teeth, you can make them grow teeth like they should normally! Cool! The clinical trial starting this year (fall of 2024) is mostly aimed at humans with similar congenital issues in its first stages.
Where this gets interesting for the rest of us who made the teeth right the first time around but then fucked them up, though, is very early in development. Humans and some other mammals actually do replace our teeth once, right? We grow baby teeth, then lose those and replace them with permanent adult teeth. Both sets start forming while we're still fetuses, they just hold off on fully forming and erupting until some later stage. There's some evidence, though, that we're actually born with the very faint makings of a third set of teeth. Normally in adulthood these just sit, dormant and barely-there, and do nothing. But they're actually where the extra teeth come from some cases of hyperodontia, so at least some of the time they're capable of becoming functional. And in one more animal experiment, if you give a high dose of the USAG-1 antibody to normal ferrets (who also grow one set of baby teeth followed by one permanent set) you can cause them to wake up some of those dormant buds and grow extra incisors. Mildly inconvenient for a healthy ferret, potentially a big deal for something missing a permanent tooth in that spot.
If the first stages of the clinical trial pan out they're planning to try it on people who are missing teeth due to "environmental factors". Ten years is definitely on the optimistic side for that, and obligatory disclaimer that clinical trials flame out depressingly often, but it could happen.
A few references under the cut-

Humans should have renewable teeth like crocodilians or sharks. I know there's that clinical trial starting this fall and we may get them via pharmacology within a decade, but we should have had them by default.

The CBD market doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon. From oils and tinctures to gummies and chocolates, people are buying more CBD than ever. In fact, the market is expected to reach and surpass $20 billion by 2024.
Though it’s likely you’ve heard all about CBD by now, there’s a chance you haven’t heard about its sister cannabinoid, CBG. More people are exploring the differences between CBD vs CBG before buying products. The more you know, the more likely you’ll buy the products you need!
Keep reading to learn all about the difference between CBD and CBG
CBD, CBG, and the Endocannabinoid System
Before we can really get into the difference between CBD vs CBG, it helps to understand cannabinoids and they’re effect on the body.
Your body naturally produces cannabinoids called endocannabinoids. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is designed to receive and utilize endocannabinoids. Your body actually needs endocannabinoids to achieve equilibrium.
Otherwise, many of your bodily functions will go out of balance.
Hemp and cannabis plants contain plant-based cannabinoids. These are called phytocannabinoids and can include:
CBD
CBG
THC
CBDA
CBN
CBC
CBD stands for cannabidiol. CBG, on the other hand, stands for cannabigerol. These cannabinoids are only two of the 60 cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp plants.
Cannabinoids like CBD and CBG are both capable of acting on the human’s body cannabinoid receptors. Two of the most prevalent receptors found in the body are CB1 and CB2.
CB1 plays a role in regulating your nervous system. CB2, meanwhile, is responsible for inflammation. Inflammation is your body’s natural response to illness, invaders, and injuries.
CBG: The Stem Cell
We’ve heard more about CBD so far because hemp plants contain larger amounts of CBD than CBG. In fact, CBG is so scarce that scientists haven’t studied it much yet. Now that cannabis laws are changing, scientists are spending more time exploring this cannabinoid.
CBG is important, though. In fact, it’s the precursor to other cannabinoids, including CBD.
First, CBG appears in its inactive form, CBGA. With time, CBGA breaks down and becomes a base molecule. Other cannabinoids then use the CBGA base molecule to develop.
Without CBG, we wouldn’t have CBD and THC.
What is CBG used for, exactly? Remember, your body’s ECS utilizes endocannabinoids like CBG to achieve balance. The CB1 and CB2 receptors in your body are responsible for regulating:
Appetite
Pain response
Metabolism/weight
Mood
Cannabinoids like CBG can interact with your CB1 and CB2 to activate certain responses. These responses trigger physiological changes such as mood swings. By acting on your CB1 and CB2 receptors, CBG and CBD can keep your body balanced.
Without balance, you could lose your appetite, experience nausea, gain weight, feel tired, and experience pain.
It’s important to note that CBG and CBD aren’t psychoactive. In other words, they won’t make you high. Another cannabinoid, THC, is responsible for causing psychoactive effects.
The Difference
Now that you know a little more about the science behind CBG and CBD, let’s separate the two. Here’s what you need to know about CBD vs CBG.
CBD
CBD is best known for its ability to reduce pain symptoms. It’s also able to stabilize certain bodily functions.
Remember, the CB2 receptor is responsible for regulating inflammation. Inflammation is important for healing and fighting diseases. Too much inflammation, however, can have a negative impact on the body.
In fact, chronic inflammation can cause fatigue, mouth sores, a fever, and lasting pain. Long-lasting pain could impact your mobility and quality of life. It can also cause disability.
As the inflammation persists, it can also lead to a serious health condition, including:
Heart disease
Cancer
Type 2 diabetes
Obesity
Asthma
Neurodegenerative diseases
Rheumatoid arthritis
Failing to ease inflammation can damage your body’s healthy cells, tissues, and organs. In time, the damage could impact your DNA.
Many people are already using CBD products to ease the painful symptoms associated with these conditions. CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties can ease inflammation in the body to help with healing and prevention.
Reducing inflammation in the body can also help clear up eczema and psoriasis. Inflammation often contributes to skin conditions like acne by increasing sebum production.
However, every person reacts to CBD differently. While it might reduce one person’s inflammation and pain, it might not help everyone.
CBG
Since CBG is scarce within hemp plants, we don’t know its full range of benefits yet. Scientists are still exploring how we can use CBG for clinical purposes. By producing cbg seeds, companies could maximize CBG effects.
Some reports indicate that CBG and CBD offer different benefits. This is likely because CBG is a partial agonist for cannabinoid receptors. That means CBG influences your CB1 and CB2 receptors differently than CBD does.
With this in mind, it’s possible that CBG could help patients suffering from conditions beyond the ones mentioned above. However, there’s still a lot of overlap between what CBD and CBG can do for the human body.
Unlike CBD, CBG has shown promise in helping patients with glaucoma. CBG is able to relieve intraocular pressure, which could provide glaucoma patients with therapeutic relief.
CBG could help patients with colitis inflammatory bowel disease as well. In one animal study, CBG helped patients manage:
Weight loss
Appetite
Cramps
Abdominal pain
Joint pain
Nausea
We require human studies to determine if we can use CBG as a treatment option.
Unlike CBD, CBG could help inhibit GABA reuptake. GABA is an amino acid that causes fear, anxiety, and stress. By taking CBG, patients might reduce their stress and anxiety.
CBG could also help inhibit cancer cell growth (a potential benefit it shares with CBD). This study concluded that CBG might work as a tumor progression inhibitor, along with other cannabinoids.
Many cancer patients use CBD to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy (nausea and vomiting). Though more research is necessary, it’s possible CBG could help as a form of treatment for cancer.
Connecting Cannabinoids: CBD vs CBG Explained
By exploring the difference between CBD vs CBG, scientists could find a plethora of potential medical treatments. However, these two cannabinoids can also work together to promote health and wellbeing.
