Going into 2024 sad, lonely and depressed, it’s just going to be another year of never doing anything or going anywhere. On the plus side though maybe I won’t be sick for 8 solid months with a horribly painful combination of infections. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So there's a note in the 2023 game where the Painter is quoted about his wife's music accompanying him in the future. This note is read by someone else in the game proper.

Here, the Painter is reciting his own line from the article, but includes his wife's name (though her name on the note itself is keysmash, I'm sure they meant to scratch that out)!

But anyway, we finally hear her name: Joanna!

In addition to this, I did find a short voice clip by the Painter that just said, as if reading out a letter: "Thomas Caldwell, Joanna Gallery." Which opens another can of worms unto itself.

Did the wife own a gallery with Thomas, or was it just named after her? Did her family have something to do with it? All very hard to say, but I feel like this connection could maybe add to my theory that her family is involved in the occult parts of the art community and know about the Rat Queen (but that's just my conspiracy theory).

In any case, since the Musician's name has been cut from the game, we're left in the dark if this was meant to be her canon name which was cut to keep it mysterious, or they decided they didn't like it and cut it out. Whatever the reason, it's certainly a nice placeholder name for her!

Thus far, I have not found any hints for the Daughter or Painter's names, unfortunately.

Honestly, the song At All Costs sounds kind of like a love song. It could just be me, though.

Yeah, but it’s sung to a room of bubbles. It might as well be a love song written to a room full of photographs and family brooches, wedding rings passed down through generations. It’s pretty but it’s the wrong kind of song for the thing that’s receiving it.

Inktober Day 26: Remove

FULL PICTURE UNDER THE CUT (slightly gore + disturbing eye imagery)

Fanart for the fanfic In Ictu Oculi by @wikipedianna. The idea came to me after reading a very memorable scene. Style-wise, I was seeking to emulate 19th century scientific illustrations, such as those you could find in a textbook, but with an additional horrific and surreal touch to it.

(All the hatching has been done by hand, but no wrist has been harmed during the process.)
