These Car Colors Have the Highest (and Lowest) Resale Value
Even though black and silver vehicles, for example, are much more popular with new car buyers, research from iSeeCars.com shows that vehicles in common paint coats can lose value quickly. “There are just too many cars available in those colors to elevate resale value,” Karl Brauer, an analyst at the car search company, said in a report from June. The value of the average vehicle drops 22.5% in three years, but the falloff is much lower for certain color cars, like yellow, coming in at 13.5%. Compared to the average three-year decline in value of $9,674, yellow cars lose $6,588, a difference of more than $3,000. “While not many people want a yellow car, there are clearly more people who want one than exist, which is why yellow performs so well on the secondary market,” Brauer said. What the research says For the car market in general, the above-average colors for resale value are yellow, beige, orange, green, red, white and blue. These could be good choices if resale value is a top concern. Here are some of the other insights from the data: Compared to last year’s analysis, beige moved up from the No. 9 spot into second. It can be hard to say exactly why a color performs well in terms of holding its value, but iSeeCars.com suggests beige cars are faring better than other colors because some special trims of off-road trucks are made in that color, including the Jeep Gladiator Mojave and the Toyota Tacoma TRD, which are coveted vehicles. While yellow performs extremely well for resale value in the coupe and convertible segments, shoppers for other types of cars seem to want something less flashy. Overall, brown is the second worst color (only ahead of gold) if you’re trying to sell your vehicle, but it’s the best color for sedans if you want your car to hold value. Brown “blends in and doesn’t make any waves,” which used sedan buyers seem to be into, according to the report. Green does well in every category, but that’s especially true in the minivan segment where it’s the top ranking color for resale value, “suggesting the conservative earth tone matches the minivan demographic,” according to the report. Bottom line Resale value isn’t always a consideration when Americans are shopping for cars and choosing colors. More often, buyers probably pick a color based on what they think looks good. Or, with vehicle inventory as low as it has been, they may focus simply on getting the right trim at a fair price and the color is an afterthought. As it turns out, however, a car’s color matters quite a bit and can possibly make a difference of several thousand dollars when it’s time to sell. But you can’t necessarily just buy a yellow car and bank on being able to sell it for a high price in a few years. It’s not that simple because trends vary depending on the segment and the car model. Not to mention that the potential difference in resale value may not be worth the head turns, if that’s not your thing. Best Trucks, Cars, and SUVs for Camping
New Post has been published on https://eazycamping.net/best-trucks-cars-and-suvs-for-camping/
Best Trucks, Cars, and SUVs for Camping
No matter what kind of camping you’re into, you have to get to the campsite before you can start camping, so you’ll need a car, truck, SUV, or van that will get you, your stuff, and your companions there in comfort, safety, and style. Not every car is well-suited to the demands of camping, whether you’re at your nearest carefully manicured state park or deep in the wilds of America. Still, fortunately, many are, and you won’t even have to break the bank to afford one.
That’s not to say you can’t spend six figures on a camping vehicle — you can, quite easily, and that’s before you start customizing — but it is to say you don’t have to. In fact, it’s possible to get a great vehicle for camping for around $10,000. Buying used can also allow you to afford more vehicle than you would when buying new, so it’s not only about tight budgets, either.
Whatever kind of vehicle you’re looking for, we’ve put together a list of some of the best camp vehicles on the market today. We’ve also compiled some great camping advice from Ben Stewart in the links below to help ensure your camping vehicle purchase is the right fit for you.

The available trailer reverse steering system makes hooking up your camper trailer a breeze. If you opt for the Ram 2500 Power Wagon trim, you’ll get some serious off-road upgrades like a disconnectable front anti-roll bar, a Warn winch, electronic locking differentials, and more. 2011-2015 Nissan Xterra

The Features Your Vehicle Needs for Camping
By Ben Stewart
The Case for All-Wheel Drive
Campsites and the roads that lead to them are incredibly varied. Some sites can be accessed from the pavement and have bathrooms nearby, which is quite convenient. But many recreational campers want to tread a little further away from civilization. And that means leaving the paved roads behind. Dirt roads that lead to remote locations tend to become a little less like roads and more like trails the farther you go. If this sounds like a fun adventure, consider choosing a vehicle with all-wheel drive and more ground clearance than a typical car.
To reach truly remote locations, you’ll need to take off-road trails. Go for a vehicle with a classic 4-wheel-drive system that includes low-range gearing. In short, be sure to know the type of terrain you want to explore before buying a vehicle.
The Deeper You Go, the More You Bring
Pack your vehicle for just one overnight, and you will realize just how much stuff is required to camp out. The longer your trip, the more things you’ll need to bring with you. Extra food, water, and clothing take up space and add weight. Venture further into the wild in a 4×4, and you might want some specialized off-road equipment, too. To be well prepared for off-road exploring, stock your vehicle with basic emergency supplies, recovery gear, and perhaps a few tools, too, should something break — and something usually does. Yes, this stuff will add even more weight to your vehicle.
Storage Space and Payload
How much cargo space do you need?
Once you have an idea where you might travel and for how long, you can zero in on the best vehicles for that lifestyle. No surprise, a larger SUV, pickup truck, or van will provide the most space and have the ability to carry more weight. But smaller vehicles are more maneuverable and easier to manage on tight trails.
Many campers strike a balance — they get vehicles that can carry lots of equipment and remain highly maneuverable. That’s why it’s essential to know how many cubic feet of cargo space is available with the seats up and with them folded. This will provide a standardized number for comparisons, and it will help you figure out if the vehicle you’re eyeing can carry what you will need.
How much cargo weight can your car carry?
You need to know how much weight the vehicle can handle — that is called the payload. This spec can be found on the inside of the driver’s door jamb or in the owner’s manual. Be aware the total payload weight can add up very quickly. For example, a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has a payload that ranges from around 850 pounds up to 1,300 pounds, depending on how the vehicle is optioned from the factory.
That number doesn’t just count the weight of the cargo on board; it also includes the people. So, two 200-pound passengers and their gear could take up a sizable chunk of Wrangler payload. And that’s assuming the Wrangler owner has not bolted on serious off-roading equipment. That electric winch and those heavy-duty steel bumpers add serious weight.
Tents and Rooftop Tents
One way to shave some weight from the camping equation is to forgo the tent option and sleep inside your vehicle. But generally, tents aren’t too heavy unless you opt for the rooftop variety. Rooftop tents are popular, especially for overlanding, which is long-distance off-road camping. They can provide a great sleeping experience because many are roomy, include plush mattresses, and are high off the ground (away from critters).
Plus, they save space inside the cargo hatch for other gear. But these tents can be heavy, ranging from around 80 pounds up to 200 pounds. That extra heft eats into your vehicle’s available payload. And because the heavy tent is also up high, it can affect the vehicle’s handling on the road and off.
See Best SUVs for Towing.
How much does all your camping gear weigh?
Let’s pack up for a virtual weekend camping trip and find out what kind of weight a typical trip could add to a vehicle. These weights are just an approximation and could vary wildly depending on what you might want to bring. We are packing for two people on this mock adventure who each weigh 180 pounds, plus a 40-pound dog.
Rooftop tent: 130 pounds Sleeping bags and pads: 6 pounds Clothing and toiletries: 15 pounds Four gallons of water: 32 pounds Three days of food: 12 pounds Propane stove and fuel: 20 pounds Cooking equipment/mess kit: 6 pounds Two folding camp chairs: 20 pounds Large cooler: 25 pounds Shovel and tool kit: 10 pounds Miscellaneous (soap, trash bags, etc.): 20 pounds Gear total: 296 pounds
The combined weight of our adventurers and all this gear is 696 pounds. That’s quite a bit of weight. The good news is that plenty of SUVs carry a payload rating right around 1,000 pounds. However, packing for longer camping trips could require more weight capacity.
Smart Engineering
When shopping for a good camping vehicle, look for intelligent ways that automakers help make gear-hauling easier. Here are a few we have found.
Toyota offers a sliding rear cargo deck for the 4Runner. It is rated at 440 pounds and has two positions, the farthest of which slides out past the bumper and can make loading gear easier. Similarly, Ford offers a cool cargo management system for the new Bronco Sport. It allows you to create shelves and separators in the cargo hold. You can even remove the unit and use it as a camp table.
Chrysler’s Pacifica goes beyond the minivan’s inherent usefulness by offering Stow ‘n Go seating. At the touch of a button, the second- and third-row seats can disappear beneath the floor. That allows for a completely flat platform behind the front seats — a perfect space to sleep.
Ford offers the option of several onboard generators for the F-150, which can help power lots of equipment around a campsite. In addition, the Ford F-150 is available with an onboard cargo scale, to make sure you don’t overload your truck with gear. Also, a continuously controlled damping system smooths out the ride by compensating for gear in the bed or a trailer on the hitch. And Honda offers official tents through its accessory division for both the Pilot and Ridgeline.
The Honda Ridgeline’s underfloor storage can be used as a cooler. This is similar to the available bedside storage in the Ram 1500, Nissan Titan, and the Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition.

AccuAir® Launches New Dynamic Lift Kits for Jeep® Wrangler JKU Models
AccuAir® Launches New Dynamic Lift Kits for Jeep® Wrangler JKU Models - All-new dynamic lift kits enable low-speed adjustability for “Crawl Control” on the trail - Full bolt-on kit for Jeep Wrangler JKU, includes all components and does not require any welding or cutting - Kit also provides “Tow Control” to eliminate sagging when towing - Made in the U.S. Merritt Island, Fla. – (May 16, 2023) – AccuAir Suspension, maker of next generation air suspension control products, has launched a first-of-its-kind, dynamic lift kit for the Jeep Wrangler JKU models. The full bolt-on kit enables an additional 3-inches of lift for Jeep Wrangler JKU. The system includes JRi shocks and an AccuAir e-Level Plus control system, which can be controlled via a hardwired Touchpad+ or by Bluetooth through the ePlus app. It supplements kits currently offered for the Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler JL models. The new kit features low-speed adjustability for “Crawl Control” on the trail, enabling on-the-fly height adjustments under 25 mph while also making it possible for drivers to lower the vehicle to stock for ease of cabin access or cargo loading. “This cutting-edge suspension system offers unparalleled adjustability and conveniences to Wrangler and Gladiator owners,” said Mark Turner, president, AccuAir. “Under 25 miles-per-hour, the system enables drivers to adjust upward to crawl over obstacles, or down for easy access for people and pets, or even independently adjust each corner for leveling while overlanding. It’s a complete game-changer for the off-road community.” The new kit provides “Tow Control” to eliminate sagging when towing. Easy hitch connecting is achieved through pressing a button to lower the rear, backing up to connect the hitch, then pressing a button to return to a level ride height. The Made-in-the-USA system includes: - An underbody mounted 3-gallon air tank for regulated onboard air for inflating tires and tools – saving valuable cargo space in the cab. - A fully bolt-on system with new lower control arms, sway bar links, and front track bar for increased strength and FMVSS 126 compliant handling. The full bolt-on kit only requires drilling a few holes for mounting, with zero cutting or welding, uncommon in the truck space, which consists mostly of static kits. In addition to the hardware, the system is equipped with some “smart” features, including: - Long-range Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity - RGB backlighting, enabling customization of the color scheme to match your vehicle - Three programmable heights - Automatic calibration - TruPosition Sensors for accurate leveling, regardless of load – excellent for towing and overlanding To purchase the new Jeep vehicle kit, visit: https://accuair.com/collections/jeep-dynamic-lift-kits Read the full article

Ram 1500 Classic Fans Rejoice: An Update Could Be Coming
There is no end date in sight for the Ram 1500 Classic pickup that FCA sells alongside its newest-generation Ram, and it may get an update, CEO Mike Manley suggests.
As a lower-priced option, the previous-generation 1500 lives on as the Classic and it continues to notch steady sales while increasing Ram market share and generally driving the competition crazy.
As long as the Classic continues to make business sense, there are no plans to discontinue the truck based on the 2018 model platform anytime soon, Manley told investors on the second-quarter earnings call. In fact, it might get an update, Manley said.
No details are forthcoming right now, but it does bode well for those worried the Classic will make a hasty exit. The Classic has one very big advantage: price. A bare bones Tradesman with a bench seat, 3.6-liter V-6, and eight-speed automatic starts at $29,340, and at the high end, a Big Horn with the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 and a host of available amenities is priced from $46,240.
2019 Ram 1500 Classic
The all-new Ram 1500 starts at $35,135 and offers a fresh design, better fuel economy including eTorque mild-hybrid technology, greater towing capacity, a large Uconnect touchscreen, and other upgrades that a new generation vehicle makes possible.
Three Ram plants should be enough
FCA makes Ram pickups, big and small, old generation and new, at three plants. Warren Truck Assembly in Michigan makes the Classic and will add the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The plant in Saltillo, Mexico, makes the regular cab Classic as well as heavy-duty pickups. FCA retooled the Sterling Heights plant in Michigan to make the latest-generation Ram 1500, which debuted for the 2019 model year.
Manley said the automaker has ensured Warren can continue to build light-duty trucks into the future as a safety valve given the steady sales growth Ram is enjoying. Ram pickups now have 28 percent market share, up 7 points from a year ago. Ram has jumped past the Chevrolet Silverado to take the No. 2 spot behind the Ford F-Series.
New-generation Ram 1500
“If I look at overall volume demand today and the three sources that we have, even though it is true that the combined volume of those three sources is slightly in excess of what I would call today’s forward-looking demand, we seem to be growing at a relatively good pace so I think keeping flexibility going forward is important,” Manley said.
Two-truck strategy is paying off
“Which means if we make changes to the Classic, it may well stay as a Classic but updated Classic, if you know what I mean,” Manley said. This two-truck strategy is working well in the showroom with the Classic as an entry-level truck and the all-new Ram 1500 as the step-up. GM uses the smaller Colorado as the entry-level truck, stepping up to the Silverado. Ram plans to add a smaller truck to the lineup, but those plans have yet to come to fruition.
Meanwhile, production of the Ram Heavy Duty as well as the new Jeep Gladiator continue to ramp up. Gladiator has quickly secured almost 8 percent of the segment in its early sales days.
Overall, FCA had a strong second quarter given the slowing of the global industry that has caused many companies to report losses and revise overall financial forecasts downward. FCA reported a net profit of $884 million with a 14 percent increase in net income and a 3 percent bump in revenue, giving the company the confidence to maintain its guidance for the year.
The strength of Jeep and Ram contributed to a record second quarter in North America, compensating for disappointing sales of Maserati and struggles in Europe and China where sales are slowing.
Maserati product blitz is coming
Maserati has a busy time ahead with approved investment for 10 launches from 2020 to 2023 with three refreshes (Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte in 2020), four product renewals, and three additions to the lineup, all with electrified versions. One of the new vehicles will be shown next year at the Geneva auto show.
The new Maserati nameplates include a sports car next year—likely the Alfieri—followed by a mid-size SUV below Levante and a sporty convertible (Alfieri) in 2021. For 2022, there is a new Quattroporte and GranCabrio. Looking to 2023, Maserati will introduce the next-generation Levante.
In Europe, FCA is preparing to make plug-in hybrid versions of the Jeep Renegade and Compass in spring 2020 and will also make a pure electric Fiat 500 early next year.
Toledo North is getting ready to add a plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler next year, as well. A refurbished plant in Detroit will be ready in late 2020 to make the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee and a three-row Jeep SUV.

In addition to the hardware, the system is equipped with some “smart” features, including: - Long-range Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity - RGB backlighting, enabling customization of the color scheme to match your vehicle - Three programmable heights - Automatic calibration - TruPosition Sensors for accurate leveling, regardless of load – excellent for towing and overlanding To purchase the new Jeep vehicle kit, visit: https://accuair.com/collections/jeep-dynamic-lift-kits To read more news Click Here Read the full article
