2021 Zoomies: Vehicles of the Year Awards
Savage names his top car and truck picks for 2021 … While 2021 seems relatively fresh, and few of us want to reflect on the stinker that was 2020, this is traditionally when I do just that. I consider the 50 or so vehicles I tested last year and decide which are worthy of Zoomie awards. What’s a Zoomie? It’s my annual choice of the top vehicle I’ve tested in the past year. But there’s more than…

2020 Outback TURBO 🇯🇵 ______________________________________ [4/17/19] Subaru has just unveiled their all new Subaru Outback based on the new Subaru Global Platform! This new platform makes for 70% stronger body and even stronger in crashes! The new exterior design is familiar but borrows a lot from the new Legacy of which it is based on but adds a unique new rear trunk and new body cladding! A new Onyx Edition is basically a blacked out pack that gives the outback killer look! Along with an updated X Mode system, the seats have been coated in a new water repellent coating! 🔥 @allcarnews Spec sheet: Under the hood is the base 2.5L Flat 4 but who cares about that when you can get the Touring XT trim with a 2.4L turbo flat 4 making 260HP and 277 lb-ft of torque hitting 60 in 6.1sec (CVT only) and it gets 32MPG. 🔥 There is a new suspension and added torque vectoring to the Symmetrical AWD system. The interior is INSANE for a Subaru with a massive new 11.6in touch screen that works similarly like the one in the Ram 1500 where you can split the screen, (standard is a 7.0in screen), Apple carplay & Android auto, NFC pairing, 12 speaker harmon Kardon audio, The Touring should get Nappa leather, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats and the very imprsssive Eyesight system with rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, emergency braking, adaptive cruise cronteol and the new Driver Focus system that uses infrared lights to monitor your eyes to detect drowsiness ! ________________________________________ ACN EXTRA: King of the wagons! ________________________________________ - - #Subaru #outback #Flat4 #Ascent #USA #indiana #japanese #japan #turbo #Wrx #XT #AWD #symmetricalAWD ||#powerful #performance #turbocharged #supercharged #advanced #Supercar #HyperCar #ItsWhiteNoise #CarLifeStyle #MadWhips #cars #Carstagram #AmazingCars247 An #allcarnews post https://www.instagram.com/p/BwXO7OUHsH2/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=a44cx29bveo1

2020 Subaru Outback Onyx Edition XT
2020 Subaru Outback Onyx Edition XT
Outback Onyx Edition just another winning Subie wagon …
Subaru’s Outback is as close to a cult car for seniors as is it for middle-agers with a couple of teens still living at home. Its sales just continue to grow, resulting in one parked in nearly every other suburban driveway.
Spoiler alert, there’s a 2017 version in my driveway. (more…)

2020 Subaru Outback Gets Modest Price Increase, New Features
Subaru redesigned the new 2020 Outback from the ground up, and has announced pricing for the upcoming version of its hot-selling crossover-ized wagon. Of course, every Outback gets Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive, and either a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter or turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine linked to a CVT. The sixth-generation Outback features myriad mechanical changes, and different trim levels highlight the vehicle’s practicality, comfort, or off-road readiness.
Starting with the $27,655 base model (up $335 from the 2019 model), the new Outback makes 182 hp and 176 lb-ft from the 2.5-liter engine. Auto engine start-stop and eight manually selectable simulated gears are new powertrain features. It rolls on 17-inch aluminum wheels and has LED headlights with automatic high beams. Roof rails include tie-down points and integrated retractable cross bars to accommodate gear. A dual 7.0-inch screen infotainment and climate setup is installed in the center stack, which has two USB ports plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Subaru makes all Outbacks more capable with X-Mode traction control and automatic brake hold. Safety is also emphasized on the 2020 Outback, as all versions come standard with a revamped EyeSight driver assist system that now includes adaptive cruise control and lane centering. Also new is an eight-airbag arrangement which has a knee airbag for the driver.
One step up from the base model is the $29,905 Premium trim, which notably replaces the base dual-screen infotainment system with a tablet-like 11.6-inch touchscreen. Convenience features such as keyless entry with push-button start and auto up-down functionality for all four door windows are added, while a moonroof lets occupants enjoy some sunshine. Like the base model, seating surfaces are cloth-covered, but gain heating in the front.
Subaru showcases the Outback’s 260 hp, 277 lb-ft turbocharged 2.4-liter engine and off-road capabilities in the $35,905 Onyx Edition XT. It’s visually distinguished by its blacked-out grille, side mirrors, wheels, badges, and headlight bezels. Inside, it gets trim-exclusive water-repellent urethane upholstery in gray, plus green stitching on the dashboard panels. Making it more trail-ready is an enhanced X-Mode system which adds settings for snow, sand, and mud. A full-size spare tire helps in case of a puncture. Onyx Outbacks also get the 180-degree front-view camera.
Additional driver assist features come with the $34,455 Limited trim, including blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse automatic braking. Headlights gain height and steering response to enhance their functionality. Subaru’s new interpretation of hands-free liftgate opening, in which the driver waves a hand or elbow near the rear emblem to pop the liftgate, is part of Limited. Side mirrors gain power operation and automatic tilt-down while reversing. Looks-wise, Limited gets 18-inch wheels and silver guards on the bumpers. Inside, seating surfaces are leather-trimmed with contrast stitching, and the dashboard trim is upgraded to a silver-black finish. The turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, indicated by XT designation, is available for $4,300 extra.
For $38,355, the Touring trim adds a facial recognition camera, which automatically changes seat and mirror adjustments to pre-programmed settings for different drivers, and monitors the driver for distraction or drowsiness. Front seats gain ventilation, and the seats and steering wheel also feature upgraded leather trim. A 180-degree front-view camera aids with navigating off-road obstacles, or simply squeezing into a tight parking spot. The rear cargo area gets eight integrated tie-down hooks, and the roof rails get silver tie-downs and cross bars. Turbocharged XT power is also available on Touring for $2,350.
The 2020 Subaru Outback hits dealerships this fall. Keep an eye out for our driving impressions of the new Subaru Outback later this month.

After celebrating the world debut of the new 2020 Outback earlier this month, the Japanese manufacturer is now marking the 4 millionth vehicle it has produced at its Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) plant. This is the company’s only factory outside Japan which began manufacturing in 1989. The 4 millionth Subaru from America is a silver 2019 Outback. The car rolled off the assembly line on Monday at 10:51 PM EDT. The automaker expects to have the new 2020 Outback together with the 2020 Legacy on the production lines in Indiana at the end of July this year. “This is an incredible milestone for our associates and our company,” Scott Brand, senior vice president at SIA, comments. “We’ve come a long way since building our first Subaru vehicle more than 30 years ago.” Since starting production at the SIA factory more than three decades ago, Subaru has increased the output of the facility from 67,000 cars per year to approximately 370,000 cars. Currently, the plant produces the Ascent, Impreza, Legacy, and Outback models for the North American market. “Our 5,700 associates are directly responsible for the quality that Subaru customers have come to expect,” Brand adds. “Their commitment continues to drive our success.” Once the new 2020 Outback reaches the assembly lines, it will be available in Base, Premium, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Limited XT, and Touring XT trim levels. Sales start this fall with first customer deliveries expected a few weeks later. As far as the 2020 Legacy is concerned, the sedan goes on sale this fall as well in Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT trims. Both vehicles ride on the Subaru Global Platform, which allows for a significantly increased torsional rigidity and contributes to a quieter cabin at higher speeds.
