Meet the 2020 CT4-V 🇺🇸 ______________________________________ [5/30/19] Cadillac has launched the all new CT4 sedan first in its V Guise which really is like a “V-Sport” trim as we are waiting on the next higher trim of the V hierarchy with more power and performance. So this new CT4 replaces the ATS and I think it looks really good… except the rear is a bit too quirky. 🔥[@Allcarnews Spec Sheet] Powering the CT4-V is a odd choice, a 2.4L turbo Four cylinder that is found in GM pickups and makes 320HP and 369 lb-ft of torque paired to a 10 speed gearbox to either the rear or all four wheels. Keep in mind the outgoing ATSV made 464HP from a TT V6. In its current form, the CT4-V should compete with the Audi S3 and A35 AMG 🔥 Cadillac has said this new CT4 chassis offers 50/50 weight distribution and the CT4-V gets Brembo brakes, the next generation of Magnetic Ride control, a limited slip rear diff, a new V mode dial, and sportier gauge clusters, wheels and seats. Now for the general CT4 styling…..The front looks pretty unique and good albeit the Caddy badge is a tad too large for the grille. But the rear just doesn’t fit the car in this Blue, I actually like it as its rather unique and looks good with the quad exhaust tips. 2020 Cadillac CT5 Interior Review—Luxurious Enough?

Luxury is all about the experience. Whether you stay in a five-star resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean while you drink a margarita poolside, or you enjoy a seat massage on your commute home, luxury is about appreciating the little details that make the moment a better and more relaxing one. In the automotive industry, luxury has been well represented by the Europeans, but America is now putting up a good fight, especially with the new generation of Lincoln cars and SUVs. The 2020 Cadillac CT5 represents a relaunch of the sedans for Caddy, and the competition in the segment couldn’t be fiercer, with new generations of the BMW 3 Series, Volvo S60 and Audi A4 hitting the streets in the last couple of years and a new Mercedes-Benz C-Class expected soon.

The new Cadillac CT5 embodies the new design language that Caddy has expanded across its new vehicles, but does the CT5’s interior have enough to lure customers way from the European competition?

2020 Cadillac CT5: The Attention to Detail

Over the past few years, we’ve complained about the interior design of most of GM’s new cars. From the new Silverado to the XT4, the layout, look and feel has not been class competitive. And, unfortunately, CT5 follows the same case. Although we like the carbon fiber trim on the center console, dash, and door panels, we wish the layout was more attractive and modern. Compare the CT5’s interior to the S60’s, and the Swede is more elegant and contemporary than the American. And a lot of that has to do with the attention to detail—whereas Volvo designers spent time focusing on the vertical air vents that flank the tablet-like touchscreen, Caddy’s designers seemed to incorporate the air vents where they saw a space. What’s more, even the segment-below Mercedes-Benz A-Class has more style inside than the CT5.

2020 Cadillac CT5: Interior Technology

But not everything is bad news. The standard 10-inch touchscreen is fast and easy to use thanks to its superb infotainment system, which is one of the best in the business. Although users can also control the display though a knob on the center stack, managing the touchscreen with your fingers is as easy as using your smartphone—the pinch to zoom feature works just as well on Cadillac’s display as it does on your personal device. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard.

One place where we’d like to see an improvement is on the gauge cluster. Although there’s a small screen that displays important messages, other luxury cars have a full digital display that includes the tach and speedo. And for a luxury car that can easily go beyond $50,000, it’s the little details like this where customers would love to see better experience.

2020 Cadillac CT5: Interior Space

With 37.9 inches of legroom and 36.6 inches of headroom in the rear, the CT5 has more legroom than the BMW 3 Series, Volvo S60 and Audi A4, and it feels like that. Sit in the rear seats, and you’ll have plenty of legroom; headroom is also more than decent for a 6-foot adult.

Cadillac prioritized passenger volume over cargo space, as the CT5 has less room in the trunk than the aforementioned Europeans. With 11.9 cubic feet, the CT5’s trunk doesn’t feel small, but that might change when you’re about to head to the airport and want to fit in large bags.

2020 Cadillac CT5: What about the V?

Although this higher-performance CT5-V competes against the BMW M340i and Mercedes-AMG C43, there are no special badges or details inside the more powerful model. We recently had a chance to drive the CT5-V and complained about the lack of special details in its cabin to indicate you’re driving a special model. Cadillac should also expand its leather options, as the CT5-V lacks any kind of red or brown leather that’s usually popular within younger buyers.

2020 Cadillac CT5: Should I buy it?

Caddy needs to work on a lot more areas than its interior to gain buyers for the CT5. The last time we drove the regular version, we were disappointed on how it drove and lacked strong points to fight its European rivals. But after spending time in the CT5-V, we were pleased with the way it delivered power and how it handled on twisty roads. But as far as its interior goes, Caddy should up its game, especially as it tries to gain younger buyers.
