Spied: All-New Audi A6 In India

Upcoming Audi A6 is due for the launch next year and the automaker has started testing the sedan on the Indian roads. One of Audi’s most popular sedans A6, in its eighth generation will be comparatively much bigger than the current A6 on sale. The 2019 Audi A6 has been spotted undergoing emission and fuel efficiency tests at ARAI, Pune. The model was first revealed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year in March this year.

The upcoming Audi A6 measures 4,939 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width and 1,457 mm in height that makes it 7 mm longer, 12 mm wider and 2 mm taller than the outgoing model. The wheelbase of the next-gen sedan stands at 2,924 mm, 12 mm longer compared to the existing A6. Apart from this, the 2019 Audi A6 comes with a wider and lower positioned single- frame grille paired with a flatter headlight design and contoured air inlets.

Though the German automaker has not yet confirmed anything regarding the powertrain options for the upcoming Indian model of A6 but the India- bound eight generation Audi A6 is expected to come powered by 3.0-litre, turbocharged TFSI petrol and TDI diesel motor. While the petrol engine is capable of making 340 bhp and 500 Nm torque and comes paired to a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic unit, the diesel motor can generate up to 286 bhp along with 620 Nm peak torque and is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. The engines additionally get Audi’s Quattro AWD system as standard. The new A6 is also set to come with a mild-hybrid system as standard that adds a small lithium-ion battery on board that will store recuperated energy as this battery will vary in size depending on the choice of engine.

In terms of design, the new Audi A6 will be offered with a taut roofline that flows into the steeply raked C-pillars, a chrome strip that connects the two lights similar to that seen on the new-gen BMW 7 Series and slightly redesigned bumper with hexagonal fake exhaust tips to grant it a more sporty appeal at the rear and a choice of 14 different colors on the A6 along with additional choice of the sport and design trim lines as well as the S line exterior package.

Compared to the exterior, the interior of the 2019 Audi A6 looks more futuristic with a sleek instrument panel with a black-panel design, center console and the two MMI touch response displays slightly angled towards the driver, a full range of navigation, infotainment and Audi connect offerings as well as an option for up to seven drivers to individually store around 400 preferred settings with each profile. Other than these, the interior also offers natural-language voice control responding to operating commands and questions on the basis of data stored onboard as standard across the variants, while the top- spec will also get the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System that delivers 3D sound to the rear as well.

However, the manufacturer will initially launch the Audi A8 L in 2019 followed by the launch of the eighth generation A6 sedan in the country. To be locally assembled at Skoda’s Aurangabad facility, the prices are expected to range close to the existing model ranging between Rs. 53.0 lakh to Rs. 57.0 lakh (ex-showroom, India). When launched, the new Audi A6 will compete with the Mercedes-Benz E-class, BMW 5-series and Jaguar XF in the luxury sedan segment. Design Preview of The 2020 Jaguar XF Sedan

For 2020 Model Year, The biggest change to This New XF Sedan line-up is Jaguar’s decision to scrap the option of a diesel engine. The rest of the line-up has also been rearranged somewhat, introducing the Checkered Flag Limited Edition model and removing the Portfolio and 300 Sport models. Android Auto and Apple Carplay are now standard features across the range, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

This New 2020 Jaguar XF Sedan has three engine options, with the diesel option dropped from the range for the new model year. That leaves us with the 25t, 30t, and 3.0 V6 options, all of which retain their partnership with a ZF sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox. Models equipped with a 25t designation make use of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 247 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, while the 30t badged models see a re-tune of the same engine yielding 296 hp and 295 lb-ft. The 30t is the pick of the four-bangers, with a greater sense of urgency accompanying throttle inputs. It may lack a soulful soundtrack, but at least it delivers the good where it counts, unlike the 25t which can be frustratingly slow at times and incapable of dealing with the heft of the XF.

If you opt for an S version of F-Pace, the same 3.0-liter V6 is available and can produce 380 HP. There is one more version of this SUV that is being detected by recently testing the SVR model. This will come with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that will generate 550 HP with 500 pound-feet of torque. In addition, this model is capable of operating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds.

The four engines of the Jaguar F-Pace 2019 will have great fuel economy. The base model that produces 247 HP will have an EPA city/highway fuel economy of 22/27 mpg. The following is the same engine that delivers 180 HP, this will give a fuel economy of 26/33 mpg. The third engine is supercharged V6 which is 340 HP and the version that produces 380 HP, these two will have the same fuel consumption rate of 18/23 mpg.

2019 Jaguar F-Pace Price and Release Date

The Jaguar F-Pace 2019 will cost approximately $ 43,500. This price will also include destination fees of approximately $ 1000. However, if we choose the Premium model, it is a little higher, around $ 46,000 and the S models are priced at $ 60,000.

CarGurus Investigates the Rise of the Wagon

Who remembers the “wood”-paneled station wagons of our childhoods? We can’t help but wonder whether they’re making a comeback despite the declining popularity of sedans.

If you scan the headlines, SUVs and crossovers are taking over and the sedan is dead. But CarGurus data shows the story is more complicated than that: Younger shoppers still want new and used sedans, because they offer more value and are still great options. But most American automakers have nixed sedans, with the exception of performance vehicles. European automakers continue to make sedans, such as the 2020 Volkswagen Passat, which offer more premium features and design elements, such as heated front and rear seats and dual-zone climate control. But what of the wagon? Let’s take a closer look at some recent debuts.

The wagon comeback

In the past two years, we’ve seen the introduction of several new wagons. Volvo, which already had the V60, debuted the new V90 in 2017 (a previous version was offered in the US in 1998), which we reviewed the 2018. Shoppers can now get an off-road friendly version of the V90, called the V90 Cross Country, which offers more ground clearance, black cladding around the wheels, and, of course, all-wheel drive (AWD). Jaguar, known for its luxury sedans like the XJ Series, broke tradition and introduced the XF Sportbrake in 2018. Its starting price is in line with the rest of the luxury brand’s vehicles, and it offers 20-inch wheels, soft-close doors, heated seats, and more cubic feet of cargo space than the F-Pace.

Buick is the other automaker that introduced a wagon in 2018 with its Regal TourX. Our reviewer notes the Regal TourX can work as a premium alternative to brands like Subaru, with its much-beloved Outback. The TourX has premium touches, like dual-zone climate control, while also featuring more rugged details like plastic cladding around each wheel well and a roof rack along with AWD.

We looked at the number of searches for each of these three wagons in the second half of 2018 and compared that to the first six months of the year. While two of those new wagons saw an increase in searches, we were surprised to see that the Buick Regal TourX had the bigger boost, with a staggering 69% increase. The V90 saw a 30% increase in the number of searches. Only the XF Sportbrake saw a decrease, of 4%, in the second half of 2018 compared to the prior six months.

The future of the wagon

Based on searches on CarGurus, the wagon is indeed making a comeback. Bloomberg suggested the increased interest in wagons is a result of shoppers now having more wagon choices. It also may be due to the smaller number of options for sedan shoppers. Wagons, thanks to their lower center of gravity, feature less body roll and better handling than their crossover and SUV counterparts while not losing any of the capabilities or close-to-the-road driving experience a sedan would offer.

Jaguar Adds Limited-Edition 300 Sport Model to 2019 XF Lineup

The 2019 Jaguar XF arrives with a handful of new features including the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, a 10-speaker audio system, a frameless rearview mirror, and illuminated door sills. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now available as part of an optional smartphone package while Prestige models get Navigation Pro and Pro Services as standard.

Base 25t Premium models start at $50,960 with rear-wheel drive. That gets you a 247-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four. Other engine choices include a 180-hp 2.2-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder in the 20d, a 296-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four in the 30t, and a 380-hp supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 in the XF S. A ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic is the only transmission option with each engine. Adding all-wheel drive to any trim is $3,000 extra. The wagon, called the XF Sportbrake, is available in 30t Prestige and S variants and comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Pricing for the wagon starts at $65,570 for the 30t Prestige and $72,210 for the S.

The limited-edition XF 30t 300 Sport is new this year. It features a grille surround, side vents, side sills, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser finished in dark gray. The 19- or 20-inch wheel options are also finished in the same color, and behind them sit brake calipers with 300 Sport branding. Inside the cabin you’ll find yellow contrast stitching and 300 Sport badges on the front seat headrests, steering wheel, and door sills. The XF 30t 300 Sport will only be offered in Yulong White, Indus Silver, and Santorini Black.
