anyone else's bones feelin' february-stiff these days? it seems to be the static season of 'i feel like i haven't stopped working since the new year' sentiment. i used to plow through commitments only to register exhaustion & stress after the fact - then something tiny could tip me right over the edge & i'd have to take salvaging measures to cope with illness or burnout. this winter finally has been better for me than most previous ones were, because even though there is still so much to do, i have been lovingly vicious🔥about protecting my body & mental health. past winters were a total struggle bus in contrast. SO just in case it helps anyone else, here's a lil reminder (which i write to myself too) that you are allowed !!! to use time & resources to be "unproductive" in the capitalist sense but productive in the loving-oneself senses -- some yoga, some humming under a warm shower, some cat naps or pushups; eating fresh green steamed broccoli; taking x minutes to call & chat or vent with a friend; using a bite of time just to daydream; physically putting away your phone or laptop to do something "analog" instead (that's a big one); sharing a kind gesture with a loved one or stranger, just to see joy ignite. there is enough time !!! to be slow & tender, to ask for help or hug, to pursue confidence boost or reality check. & if you can't cope with a challenge right when it arises, if you have to backpedal, that doesn't mean you are instantly dysfunctional or weak or a failure, because it's never too late to tackle something. wintertime can be sneakily tough on minds and bodies. please be viciously loving toward your self! #selfrespect #payingattention #winter #february #selflove #selfloveclub #slowdown #wholesomeliving #2018mood #anticapitalistlovenotes #enoughtime #generosityofspirit
