2018年4月21日 お山が綺麗な旅館に泊まりました。 お部屋着いて早々に、カメムシとたくさん戦った。 部屋の洗面所がキラキラスポットすぎて、 たくさん写真撮った！笑 浴衣は大きかった… テレビみたりオセロしたりして。 展望台行ってまた写真撮って、アプリ駆使してたらポカリのCMみたいな一枚が撮れて嬉しかった。 温泉はやっぱり気持ちいいね😊 手の乾燥がすこし治った！ 夜ご飯は、ジャパンエックスとか青根うどんが出てきてもう本当に美味しかったです。 お客さんの中に米寿と古希の方がいて、スタッフさんに温かくお祝いされてて微笑ましかったです。 みんな笑顔で優しい人だったな。 夜食に一口サイズのパンもくれて。 第1回旅館甲子園で優勝してるだけのことはありますな〜（笑）たしかにおもてなしが行き届いてる気がしました。 また温泉入って、牛乳ごくごくのんで、部屋戻って近況話しながらテレビ見ながらババ抜きジジ抜きしながらオセロやりながら、チューハイ飲みながら、お菓子とおつまみ食べまくりながら夜を過ごし1:00くらいに寝ました。 2018年4月22日 ローベッドの寝心地が、自宅のベッドと似てて安心して起きれた。 ちょっと眠かったけど、朝風呂行ったらすっきりした。露天だったんだけど、光がお湯に反射してて綺麗だった。またカメムシと戦ってたけど（笑） 朝ごはんはバイキング。意外と食べれた🍴 あとは帰る支度して帰仙。 エスパル行って買い物して、羽生選手のパレード見て帰ってきました。 ずっと天気良くて、最高だった！！！ 今度は水着買ってプール行きたいねって話してた。 今回の旅館、良いところ選んだな。また行くだろうな。

実家近くにある旭ヶ丘の市営団地を何十年かぶりに訪ねてみた。小学校時代は野球の慎ちゃん、岸本サルさん、山口ギョロメ、巨根フジワラやらたくさんの友達がここに住んでいて、毎日遅くまでよく遊んだことを思い出す。 10棟近くあった建物は全て入り口が封鎖されており、今はもう誰も入ることはできなくなっていた。草野球をしていた多くの空き地にも戸建住宅が立ち並んでいたが、昔と変わらぬ間を通る細い道を歩いていると、彼らの昔の顔が何度も浮かんでは消えた。

Week 5: What to do if your rights are breached?

What remedies are available if your rights are breached? Do you think there is anything that can be done if your rights are breached? Is it a possibility that people will infringe on your rights?

Your rights are your privileges, and people may not respect your rights and it is important that you understand the measures you can take as a citizen of Jamaica to protect your rights. Also, it is important to note that your rights are guarded by the constitution.  

Remedies that are available involve applying to the Supreme Court or other Court of Appeal to rectify or make an appeal if you think your rights were in any way infringed on. You can also contact INDECOM if you believe that your rights were breached by a Law Enforcement Officer.

Jamaica signed various international documents to show how dedicated the country is to protecting the rights of citizens. These are: The United Nation Declaration of Human Rights, The international Covenant on Civil, and Political Rights, The American Convention on Human Rights and United Nations Convention for child rights. Hence, it is necessary that rights are equally available to all and is not violated.

What are some rights that are regularly infringed upon?

Some rights that are usually breached involve the detention of citizens without bail which at times exceeds the timeframe allowed under the law. The bail act gives you the citizen the opportunity to apply for bail. In the event you are charged with an unlawful act, you should be given regard in a period of 24 hours.

Based on The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedom (Constitutional Amendment, 2011), you have the right to a lawyer and if you do not have one, ask the police to contact duty counsel on your behalf. You should not be interrogated until the lawyer arrives.
