その人が物理的に近くにいても、心の距離は遠い気がする。普通に話していても、うんと遠くから声が聞こえてくるみたいで。 僕がいままで見たこともない生き生きとした彼女の姿は、会場を熱狂させた。彼女は両手を広げ、僕はずっと遠くから眺めていた。 彼女が遠い存在になったみたいで。 目が覚めると歓声はすっかり消えていて、部屋には柔らかくて寒そうな朝の日の光が窓から入ってきて、僕はとても悲しくなった。 僕の部屋は殺人的に汚い。もちろん人はそう簡単には死なないけど恐ろしく汚い。 どうしたものかな、と布団の中でまどろみながらしばらくして起き上がり、いつものようにコーヒーを淹れる。 眼鏡は昨日踏んで割ってしまって、僕の手持ちの眼鏡は2つとも壊れてしまった。 人は失敗から学ぶみたいだが僕は何だか全然成長しとらんな、としみじみ思った。 小学校4年生の頃、保健室のソファーの上に初めて買った眼鏡を置いておいたら初恋の女の子にお尻で踏まれてしまい、鼻の部品のところが折れてしまったことがある。 次の日、女の子はお母さんと一緒に家に謝りに来てくれたけど、ソファーになんか置いておいた馬鹿息子が悪いから、とうちの母も笑っていた。 成長する部分と、いつま経っても成長せん部分があるんだなと。 最近は布団に潜ると、特定の女の子のことをぼんやりと考える。風邪ひいてないかな、とか。 これは恋なのかどうかはわからないけど、思い浮かべていると少し元気になったり、励まされたりしているような気がして、なかなか良いもんだなと。 それはさておき昨日は大きな公園の広場で昼過ぎから友達と寒い中5時間くらい飲んでいた。馬鹿なことはするもんじゃないな、と帰ってから思っても時すでに遅し。まだまだ僕は子供だなと、ひとつ勉強になった。 気付いたら今日も僕は休日だった。まだ布団から出られてもいない。 たまに無性に悲しくなってしまうけど、これも長い長い人生の中のひとつの試練なのかなと思うことにする。 さて、布団から出ようか。
