i think the thing that actually upsets me about the merthur is queerbaiting "argument" is the total erasure of gwen that inevitably occurs with that statement. it completely erases her and denies her incredibly valuable presence in this show, which is truly just people's favourite thing to do. like who cares if arthur is literally in love with her and literally marries her, fights multiple times throughout 3-4 seasons to be with her, has an entire episode in the fifth series which is literally devoted to their love & how it transcends all (including magic) when arthur looks at merlin for 5 seconds over a camp fire.

Anyone remember whenever kids shows would have a celebrity cameo? Like, i remember watching some shows being like “in this new episode, our MC will encounter a character voiced by this celebrity”, and 8yo me was always like “cool! I don’t know who that is!”

And reader. I still don’t know most of those celebrities. I recognize names because of popularity, not necessarily because of their media of origin
