my roommate's team was the braves (they'd grown up watching them on TBS), but when the tigers made it to the postseason, she cheered for them (she's from michigan). we lived together for one year, our sophomore year, and clashed a lot ... about baseball. i was a new fan, and had Big Ideas about moneyball. at the time, the braves were famously the anti-moneyball team.

jeff francoeur was on that braves team, and later on he'd become a fan favorite in oakland. not because he played for the team, but because he loved the crew in the right field bleachers. he'd go on to join the fans for Bacon Tuesdays and eventually he snagged a job as an analyst.

If I had a nickel for every time I got into a piece of superhero media with Yuri Lowenthal voicing a reddish themed main character who had a so-close-to-canonic-it-like-basically-or-actually-is-a-thing-thing with his greenish themed boy best friend I would have three nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened three times

i went with some of my college friends to see the tigers play the white sox. due to my october 2005 heartbreak, for this game (and many, many others) i was a tigers fan. comerica park is in my top 3 of most beautiful parks i've visited.

the "who's your tiger?" promotion was kind of great. craig monroe was mine that season (i can't remember why), and for a long time after that, curtis granderson.
