IT people, is windows update assistant safe?

I've used it before but it's about 50/50 if it works. not only does it take forever with 21H1 but it may fail the update and have to rollback.

I ask because I'm using it on this laptop, and not only is the clock speed going double than its base speed (2.10 ghz to pushing 4) but the fans literally sound like screaming. (may be installed wrong or too small tbh)

anyway i just want to know if people have similar experiences with this tool. microsoft themselves provide it but this is a strange experience
