2 CORINTHIANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 5

SCRIPTURE:

In other words, God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ, by not counting people’s sins against them.  He has trusted us with this message of reconciliation. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:19

OBSERVATION:

God is the One doing the reconciling... 

...through Jesus...

...not me...

He's the one not counting my sins against me...

...not by me saying, "But look at how good I've been trying to be..."

He has trusted me with this message...

...that through Christ Jesus I have been reconciled - restored, made compatible - with God the Father...

...the least I can do is live up to His trust...

...and share this message...

APPLICATION:

Live up to His trust...

Live reconciled... (here and in verse 20)

Share His message of reconciliation...

Live by faith, not by sight (verse 7)

PRAYER:

Thank You Father God, for not counting my sins against me - for restoring my relationship with You through Your Son Jesus... Please forgive my failures to live up to the trust You have placed on me to share Your message of grace and mercy... May I see and seize every opportunity to share and show Your activity in my life and to point it out in the lives of others as Your Holy Spirit leads... In Jesus's Name, and for Your praiseful worship and glory...

“Things aren’t always what they seem. That’s the mantra of many mystery books and TV shows, but it’s also a wise attitude for life. Think about how many decisions we must make on a daily basis—choices about family, finances, work. In a perfect world, each decision would have a correct and incorrect choice. Thoughts on Today's Verse… In our battle against evil, we use the spiritual weapons of God that enable us to know the truth and the freedom that the truth brings. The devil's greatest tools are deception and death. God's grace allow us to see through the deception and demolish its falsifying grip on the minds of men and women. God's power has broken through the barrier of death and given us victory in Jesus Christ. Our task in this victory march? To obey our Lord and help others to do the same, finding his grace and power sufficient to help us overcome all that we face that could defeat us.
