Grief is …
Grief is trickyGrief is hardGrief is sneakyGrief is also a tactic the enemy will use. Hear me … even those of you who are at the angry stage and don’t want to grasp what I’m about to say. (Come back later, it’ll still be here) Do NOT let grief consume or confuse you! Don’t let grief stifle your life or cause you to sin. Don’t let grief open doors not meant for you. Your loved ones aren’t…

The Compelling Love of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:6-17)
Love is the distinguishing mark of a true believer.
So we are always confident, even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord— for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to him. For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each…

ENEMY LOVE?
How are Christians to relate to an increasingly hostile and alien culture? Do we respond in kind, fighting for the values we hold dear, or does Christ call us to a better, more productive way?
How are Christians to relate to an increasingly hostile and alien culture? Just as I presented some historical context, let’s broaden our view a bit to gain some important Biblical context.  Up above, we saw through the example of the Old Testament, that despite being God’s chosen people, there were times when Israel disobeyed and in turn suffered calamity and banishment under the just judgment…

Sonship Edification
Although I did at one point give this upside down theory some of my time in the past and disagreed with it, upon further study, I have come to the conclusion that they are right concerning certain points, after all, how else can a person understand verses like these: 1 Timothy 2:14-15And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be…

Strings of Soul
In a corner of the Spiritual Retreat is an instrument wall – a place where my stringed instruments hang from hooks made specifically for each type of instrument. They are kept there for ease of access, for one never knows when the “mood” might strike when that feeling of creativity and inspiration combine into a single thread wanting to intertwine into a melody. While these pieces of wood and…

[New Year is a great time for new beginnings!]
2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:16‭-‬18‬ ‭(NLT‬‬). “So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.”
“Grace and New Beginnings” By In Touch Ministries:
“Because of the immeasurable grace of God, it’s never too late for a new life.”
“After a long winter, cherry blossoms emerge in splendor, signaling the arrival of spring and new life. Visitors travel great distances to experience the glorious spectacle in cities like Tokyo and Washington, D.C.
God’s grace, like the cherry blossom, brings beautiful new beginnings through faith in Jesus (Eph. 2:8). The gift of salvation is a gentle reminder that our past doesn’t define our future. The Lord, in His infinite wisdom and love, invites us to release yesterday’s burdens and embrace the promise of tomorrow.
In this season of newness, God’s grace urges us to look ahead for what is to come—though He never changes, He’s always doing a new thing. The prophet Isaiah reminds us that just as the cherry blossom signals renewal, God is continually working to bring new vitality and purpose into our life. “Do not call to mind the former things, or consider things of the past,” he writes. “Behold, I am going to do something new, now it will spring up ... I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert” (Isa. 43:18-19).
Is your heart open to the transformative work of God? He can bring renewal and hope to your life, creating paths in desolate places where you may have felt lost or abandoned. God is a trustworthy guide. Follow Him.”

Temporary vs. Permanent (2 Corinthians 5:1-5)
We are all on something of a perpetual spiritual camping trip. It may or may not feel like one, but every person is living in a tent.
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed…

The Weapons of our Warfare are Divine
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the tearing down of strongholds, 5 as we tear down speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is fulfilled. — 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 | Legacy Standard Bible (LSB) Legacy Standard Bible Copyright ©2021 by The Lockman Foundation. Thoughts on Today's Verse… In our battle against evil, we use the spiritual weapons of God that enable us to know the truth and the freedom that the truth brings. The devil's greatest tools are deception and death. God's grace allow us to see through the deception and demolish its falsifying grip on the minds of men and women. God's power has broken through the barrier of death and given us victory in Jesus Christ. Our task in this victory march? To obey our Lord and help others to do the same, finding his grace and power sufficient to help us overcome all that we face that could defeat us.
The Thoughts on this verse were written by Phil Ware.

Conundrum
When it comes to the following verse one needs to ask oneself WHY Paul is clearly beseeching SAVED people to be RECONCILED to God? Surely they are already reconciled to Him? 2 Corinthians 5:20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. Take note of the pronouns in this verse, then look at the context of…
