I just dusted out my computer, but before I started I spent a few moments marvelling at my SSD. It's the size of... I don't know, a few sticks of gum? And it's one terabyte. My last computer had a 1TB HDD and it's many, many times the physical size of this SSD.

And that HDD is far smaller than the HDD in my first computer 23 years ago, which was a time when 1TB of space took up multiple HDDs set in a rack and cost thirteen thousand dollars -- which is $23,000 today.

so today started good and it’s ending in the worst way possible: one of my attachments broke and I have to call the dentist tomorrow to notice him about it, then my laptop updated and the update fulfilled all the space that was left in my ssd so now it runs like shit and i have to try and install the game onto my parents desktop pc 🙃

I did want to do a more detailed ref, but I kept getting caught up on making everything look perfect and rendered, then my joints started hurting real bad, so I did what I could.

The more detailed character sheet shows her when she's fighting, which I love cuz she has an almost counter-intuitive hierarchy of which style she uses, but it makes perfect sense for her.

I also am not sure how to approach explaining her backstory. I mean! Not like there's so many people expecting anything. But I do think it fun to not really explain a lot yet. Idk if anyone else will follow, or would care about Dóvenyth. We'll see!

which, considering that I've been using a refurb dell laptop that can't even run win 11 and shipped with a 250gb ssd, isn't much of an impulse

as one of the internet olds the idea that i need a terabyte of anything feels preposterous, I played the first two Baldur's Gate on a tower with a 1.6gb hdd and could have gotten by with 1gb and I think yes, we have more stuff, but is it 1000 times more stuff? It doesn't really feel like it
