15760 Albion
15760 Albion (1st Kuiper Belt Object Named ~ 6 Feb 2018, Philip Sedgwick)
The first object discovered in the Kuiper Belt, 1992 QB1, minor solar system body 15760, has been named! Albion.
“Discovered” on August 30, 1992, the conscious recognition of Albion’s presence changed not quite everything, but a lot of things - and did some massive mind boggling along the way. Astronomers Kuiper and Edgeworth were proved correct about their assumptions that Pluto is not alone at the edge of our solar system. There is way more than we imagined in our solar system. More important, the breadth of our solar system reaches far beyond what was previously imagined.
In fact, by orbital period, and according to the latest NASA orbital data, the time it takes for objects to go around the Sun has exploded by 343 times, from Pluto’s 247.74 years dalliance to 2014 FE72’s estimated orbit of 84,970 years. By the farthest point from the Sun, Pluto retreats to 49.853 Astronomical Units (AU) and 2014 FE72 to 3,892 AU, some 78 times more distant. It should be noted that current data has Pluto’s orbit extending 10 AU more distant than previously believed!
Now, the above data regarding the unrefined orbit of 2014 FE72, should be taken with a grain of salt. The Minor Planet Center has 2014 FE72’s orbital period at 101,225 years and retreating to 4,307 AU, significantly different from NASA’s orbital projections.
The point remains: it’s totally mind-blowing how much our consciousness of the expanse of our solar system stretched since the discovery of 1992 QB1.
There were efforts to name QB1 Obiwan. Didn’t happen. However, there is a group of Kuiper belt objects with orbits similar to 1992 QB1 known as “cubewanos.” These are objects with periods exceeding that of Pluto, or more to the astronomical point, whose semi-major axis was notably bigger than Pluto’s. Because these objects and those with more far-reaching orbits defy Plutonian orbital limits, their naming is supposed to be resurrection oriented or of creation mythologies.
Initially I was disappointed with the name Albion. It is the oldest known name for the major British Isle and likely associated with the white cliffs of Dover. Still, I’m not quite sure about how this is resurrecting or creation-based. According to NASA’s orbital generator: In the creation mythology of William Blake (1757-1827), Albion is the island-dwelling primordial man who divided himself into the four Zoas (Urthona, Urizen, Luvah and Tharmas), each representing important aspects of human character.
More fascinating about Albion is its node’s and perihelion’s (closest point to Sun in orbit) locations on the ecliptic; these points known as part of an object’s orbital elements. The node is 29 Pisces 26; perihelion weighs in at 00 Aries 02. Note: both positions are heliocentric and do not directly translate to a geocentric horoscope.
The orbital elements straddle the vernal point (0 Aries point) and symbolic endings and beginnings; and brackets the begin and end of the zodiac. If there was ever a symbol for looking beyond, getting started, activating inquisitiveness, reaching for the unlimited, and pondering the unknown, this is it.
Here are some keywords to get you started with Albion:
Positive - maverick, inquisitive, receptive, initiating, instigating, inventive, quick to conclude from bits of evidence, punctual, inclusive, expansive
Negative - flaunting, first oriented, maverick, selective listening, willful blindness, jumps to conclusions and into action, fear of missing out, tardy, excluding, cliquey
Mundane - archetypes, initiatives, pinnacles, psychometry, albinos, empire-building, imperialism, armadas, cloture, opening or closing events
Ceremonial - ceremonies on summits, initiations, rites of passage, I-Ching passages of “Before Completion,” “After Completion,” releasing ceremonies
These are preliminary keywords based upon the influences of the node, perihelion and the fact that this pesky devil uncorked the outer boundaries of our solar system.
Enjoy pondering and more soon.

TNO Watch: Albion
Helios on Albion (1992 QB1)– Here we are at last, y’all: The final named Transneptunian. I saved the best for last, and aside from being the last… she’s also the very first who was ever discovered! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I give you our beloved Space Mom, Queen of the Outer Rim of our Solar System… Albion!
The Astronomy– 15760 Albion, provisional designation 1992 QB1, was the first trans-Neptunian object to be discovered after Pluto and Charon. It was discovered in 1992 by David C. Jewitt and Jane X. Luu at the Mauna Kea Observatory, Hawaii. After their discovery, they dubbed the object ‘Smiley’. It is a “cold” classical Kuiper belt object and gave rise to the name cubewano for this kind of object, after the QB1 portion of its designation. Decoding its provisional designation, “QB1” reveals that it was the 27th object found in the second half of August of that year. As of January 2018, over 2,400 further objects have been found beyond Neptune, a good number of which are classical Kuiper belt objects.
The Myth– This minor planet was named after Albion from the complex mythology of English poet and painter William Blake (1757–1827). Albion is the island-dwelling primeval man whose division resulted into The Four Zoas: Urizen, Tharmas, Luvah/Orc, and Urthona/Los. The name Albion itself derives from the ancient and mythological name of Britain. The official naming citation was published by the Minor Planet Center on January 31st, 2018 – it was normally referred to simply as “QB1”, even though this was technically ambiguous without the year of discovery.
In the mythical story of the founding of Britain, Albion was a Giant son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. He was a contemporary of Heracles, who killed him. Albion founded a country on the island and ruled there. Britain, then called Albion after its founder, was inhabited by his Giant descendants until about 1100 years before Julius Cæsar’s invasion of Britain, when Brutus of Troy came and defeated the small number of Giants that remained (as a group of the Giants had killed all the others). The long, unfinished poem properly called Vala, or The Four Zoas expands the significance of the Zoas, but they are integral to all of Blake’s prophetic books.
Blake also uses the name Albion in its traditional meaning, as an ancient synonym for Britain, in his poem “A Little Boy Lost” in Songs of Experience. The poem tells about a young boy who, using reason, realizes that humans are selfish, and that “naught loves another as itself”. He asks the priest: “Father, how can I love you / or any of my brothers more? / I love you like the bird that picks up crumbs around the door”. The priest accuses the boy of blasphemy, and burns him “in a holy place / where many had been burned before”. Blake concludes the poem by asking: “Are such things done on Albion’s shore?”.
The division of the primordial man is found in many mythic and mystic systems throughout the world, including Adam Kadmon in cabalism and Prajapati in the Rig-Veda
Why She Matters– SHE’S THE GODDAMN MOTHER OF THE ENTIRE TRANSNEPTUNIAN FAMILY THAT’S WHY SHE GODDAMN MATTERS! I love Albion. I loved her all those years she was 1992 QB1. She waited for her turn at a name for 26 years, while all her children were named before her. All that time, she was shunted and pushed aside. I covered her before, back in the Shameless Astro days, and connected her to figures like Malala Yousafzai. Think of her as Uranus in drag, only not an emotionless maniac- Uranus led by a heart instead of cold and callous intellect. She is awakening, she is kindness, acceptance, and she is the pursuit of what is right- no matter what.
Albion represents the absolute best of us, the ideal we should all strive to embody within our reality. She is the force of awakening that was once linked to the “Indigo/Crystal/Golden Children” phenomenon of the 1990s. And let me go on a tangent here- I find it incredibly assholish of the previous generations (notably Pluto in Leo) to shove a rhetoric down the throats of the Pluto in Scorp generation that we were special, would grow up to create a kinder world of acceptance and understanding, AND THEN WHEN WE ACTUALLY GO AROUND DOING IT THE VAST MAJORITY OF YALL LOSE YOUR DAMN MINDS AND GO FULL ON RACIST ASSHOLES CALLING US INCOMPETENT SNOWFLAKES OR LIBTARDS LEADING TO FUCKING TRUMPISM AND BECOMING CONCENTRATION CAMP APOLOGISTS. Fuck. Did you think that we weren’t listening to y’all and absorbing all of that when we were growing up? We are literally out here fulfilling the destiny you wrote for us and the vast majority of y’all need to shut up and let us bring it home. You have become the very forces you once warned us against AND THAT IS WHAT BREAKS OUR HEART. You taught us to be kind, accept and respect others, and welcome others, and now that all flies out the window because they’re not fucking white or come from a different country than you? Make no mistake, the force that holds back the counter-revolution of MAGA bullshit isn’t fear or weakness, it is the love that we still have for the people who we saw descend and turn into monsters before our very eyes.
Speaking of monstrous ideals, this is not the first time Albion has been linked to this sort of mentality. Students of history will note the connections to Nazi Germany and Hitler’s pursuit of an Aryan ideal, Aryan being a mythical race of white Supermen from a mythologized lost homeland. They represented the best of what they believed they could be, and used that story to justify the slaughter of millions who didn’t fit that ideal. It was a corruption of Albion. Again, we see the rise of a belief in white supremacy and Nazism resurgent in the modern era. Again we see the demonization of the “other”. We see women oppressed, people of color killed for the crime of existing, the LBGT community hunted and erased from history…. It makes me sick.
Pluto in Scorpio kids, our space mom cries for us to stand up and do something about it. This is not the future we wanted nor the one we were promised, but it is our responsibility to take action to right the wrongs we are subjected to- even more so if we are not the ones in the crosshairs. This is our fight now, and its more than hearts and minds we need to change. Our battlefield is both within and without, and its time we take up the mantle. She is a force to be reckoned with, and so are we.

Astronomers have discovered a surprise asteroid orbiting closer to the Sun than Venus

Astronomers have discovered a surprise asteroid orbiting closer to the Sun than Venus
Astronomers have painstakingly built models of the asteroid population, and those models predict that there will be ~1 km sized asteroids that orbit closer to the Sun than Venus does. The problem is, nobody’s been able to find one. Until now.
Astronomers working with the Zwicky Transient Facility say they’ve finally found one. But this one’s bigger, at about 2 km. If its existence can be confirmed, then asteroid population models may have to be updated.
A new paper presenting this result is up on arXiv, a pre-press publication site. It’s titled “A kilometer-scale asteroid inside Venus’s orbit“. The lead author is Dr. Wing-Huen Ip, a Professor of Astronomy at the Institute of Astronomy, National Central University, Taiwan.
Image shows 2020 AV2’s, Earth’s, Venus’ and Mercury’s orbits. (Ip et al., arXiv,2020)
The newly-discovered asteroid is named 2020 AV2, has an aphelion distance of only 0.65 astronomical units, and is about 2 km in diameter.
Its discovery is surprising since models predict no asteroids this large inside Venus’ orbit. It could be evidence of a new population of asteroids, or it could just be the largest of its population.
The authors write that: “If this discovery is not a statistical fluke, then 2020 AV2 may come from a yet undiscovered source population of asteroids interior to Venus, and currently favored asteroid population models may need to be adjusted.”
There are about one million known asteroids, and the vast majority of them are well outside Earth’s orbit. There are only a tiny fraction located with their entire orbits inside Earth’s.
Models predict that an even smaller number of asteroids should be inside Venus’ orbit. Those asteroids are called Vatiras.
2020 AV2 was first spotted by the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) on 4 January 2020. Follow-up observations with the Palomar 60-inch telescope and the Kitt Peak 84-inch ‘scope gathered more data.
Near the end of January, astronomers used the Keck Telescope for spectroscopic observations of the rock. That data shows that the asteroid came from the inner region of the main asteroid belt, between Mars and Jupiter.
“These data favor a silicate S-type asteroid-like composition consistent with an origin from the inner Main Belt where S-type asteroids are the most plentiful.” They add that it agrees with Near Earth Asteroid (NEA) models that “…predict asteroids with the orbital elements of 2020 AV2 should originate from the inner Main Belt.”
2020 AV2 is either a model-buster or a model-confirmer.
“NEA population models predict <1 inner-Venus asteroid of this size implying that 2020 AV2 is one of the largest inner-Venus asteroids in the Solar System,” the authors write.
It’s either the largest one, which makes sense because the largest one would be the first to be spotted, or there are more of them that we haven’t found yet.
The authors thought through two scenarios involving 2020 AV2’s detection, and what it means.
“Despite its low probability, a possible explanation for our detection of 2020 AV2 is a random chance discovery from the nearEarth asteroid population,” they write.
“However,” they continue, “history has shown that the first detection of a new class of objects is usually indicative of another source population c.f., such as the Kuiper Belt with the discovery of the first Kuiper Belt Objects1992 QB1 and 1993 FW.”
There’s also a possibility that 2020 AV2 didn’t originate in the main asteroid belt. Models show that there’s a region inside Mercury’s orbit that could have spawned asteroids, and where they might still reside. ”…2020 AV2 could have originated from a source of asteroids located closer to the Sun, such as near the stability regions located inside the orbit of Mercury at ~0.1-0.2 au where large asteroids could have formed and survived on time scales of the age of the Solar System.”
2020 AV2 might not spend an eternity on its present orbit. The team of researchers performed some simulations, and they show that the asteroid could be ejected from the Solar System entirely. “… dynamical N-body simulations of 2020 AV2 indicate that its orbit is stable on ~10 Myr timescales, entering into temporary resonances with the terrestrial planets and Jupiter before its orbit evolves onto close-encounter paths with the gas giant leading to its eventual ejection from the Solar System.”
When 2020 AV2 was first discovered, scientists wondered at the journey it must have taken to get there. They also wondered about is eventual fate.
“Getting past the orbit of Venus must have been challenging,” said George Helou, executive director of the IPAC astronomy center at Caltech and a ZTF co-investigator, in a press release.
Helou explained that the asteroid must have migrated in toward Venus from farther out in the solar system.
“The only way it will ever get out of its orbit is if it gets flung out via a gravitational encounter with Mercury or Venus, but more likely it will end up crashing on one of those two planets.”
If this discovery is just the first of a whole population of asteroids inside Venus’ orbit, the majority of them will all share the same fate. After about 10 to 20 million years, they’ll all be ejected.

Asteroid Mors-Somnus 341520
Helios– Fair warning, these guys are not going to be for everyone. Some of the ideas I present may be shocking to you, and you probably won’t realize why. That is all right, and totally normal. That being said, lets get into the fascinating binary of Mors-Somnus
The Astronomy– 341520 Mors–Somnus is a trans-Neptunian object (TNO) that resides in the Kuiper belt and was discovered on October 14, 2007. It is classified as a plutino, which means that it is in the 3:2 mean motion resonance with Neptune. Mors–Somnuswas named on June 2, 2015 after the mythological Roman gods of death (Mors) and sleep (Somnus). Mors–Somnus is a small double plutino occupying the 3:2 mean motion resonance with Neptune. The object is a wide optically resolved binary with the following orbital parameters.
The Mythology– Okay, lets take them at each of their parts.
Mors: In ancient Roman myth and literature, Mors is the personification of death equivalent to the Greek Thánatos. The Latin noun for “death”, mors, genitive mortis, is of feminine gender, but ancient Roman art is not known to depict Death as a woman. Latin poets, however, are bound by the grammatical gender of the word. Horace writes of pallida Mors, “pale Death,” who kicks her way into the hovels of the poor and the towers of kings equally. Seneca, for whom Mors is also pale, describes her “eager teeth.” Tibullus pictures Mors as black or dark.Mors is often represented allegorically in later Western literature and art, particularly during the Middle Ages. Depictions of the Crucifixion of Christ sometimes show Mors standing at the foot of the cross. Mors’ antithesis is personified as Vita, aka Life. Mors is the offspring of Nox (Night), and sibling to the personification of sleep, Somnus. Mors is often connected to Mars, the Roman god of war; Pluto, the god of the underworld; and Orcus, god of death and punisher of perjurers. In one story, Hercules fought Mors in order to save his friend’s wife. In other stories, Mors is shown as a servant to Pluto, ending the life of a person after the thread of their life has been cut by the Parcae, and of Mercury, messenger to the gods, escorting the dead person`s soul, or shade, down to the underworld’s gate.
Hypnos: In Greek mythology, Hypnos is the personification of sleep; the Roman equivalent is known as Somnus. Hypnos is the son of Nyx and Erebus. His brother is Thanatos, and both siblings live in Hades or in Erebus, another valley of the Greek underworld. According to rumors, Hypnos lives in a big cave, which the river Lethe (“Forgetfulness”) comes from and where night and day meet. His bed is made of ebony, on the entrance of the cave grow a number of poppies and other hypnotic plants. No light and no sound would ever enter his grotto. According to Homer, he lives on the island Lemnos, which later on has been claimed to be his very own dream-island. His children Morpheus (“Shape”), Phobetor (“Fear”) and Phantasos (“Imagination, Phantasy”) are the gods of the dream. It is claimed that he has many more children, which are also Oneiroi. He is said to be a calm and gentle god, as he helps humans in need and, due to their sleep, owns half of their lives. His wife, Pasithea VII, was one of the youngest of the Graces and was promised to him by Hera, who is the goddess of marriage and birth. Pasithea is the deity of hallucination or relaxation.
Why They Matter– Yes, I know- Another death god! Blame the IAU, the people who decided that Pluto wasn’t a planet anymore; They make these rules. Anyway, these guys fascinate me. Drawing on the myths you would get one idea of them- a harsh and cruel death god, like Orcus, but that isn’t quite the case. They seem to be one of the gentlest TNOs there are, even more than 1992 QB1!
What if all of our fears about Death were wrong? What if instead of the end, it was a sublime experience without end? What if it didn’t have to be scary? Mors-Somnus represents this- the peaceful death, slipping away from this life in bed, surrounded by loved ones. No pain, no struggle, just… a good death. Harry Potter fans would relate to them being the idea of meeting Death as an old friend, at the end of a long, long journey. They are an equalizer, as Death comes to us all. Mors-Somnus is also the concept of not having to fear or fight death, just accepting it as the meaning of life. They call to us, not with a shout or demand, but rather as the friend who comes up to you and takes your hand. Of course, they have the hypnotic and mesmeric side of Hypnos, so it could all just be an act- a clever ruse to hide a monster beneath, but I don’t think that is the case. They specifically rule death experiences you experience while still alive, like LSD or Ayahuasca trips; Ethenogens are a perfect way to connect to these guys.
The reality is that for a certain part of our population, life is constant agony. For those people, life is a burden, and in such a case Death would be a gift. The tragically sick who would rather not suffer, Mors-Somnus aids, without judgement or prejudice. In fact, no matter who you are, what you did or how you died, Mors-Somnus greets you in Death lovingly. Mors-Somnus also represents the mystery of the veil between worlds, only atoms thin yet completely impenetrable. They also represent a point of great surrender and trust in an unkowable power; with all our works and all of our faiths, Death is still the one mystery that we will never truly unravel. For that, it will always hold a certain mystique and power, making our too-short lives all the more precious. There was a popular comic strip that went around, saying that “Life and Death have been in love for longer than we have words to describe. Life sends countless gifts to Death, and Death keeps them forever“. How beautiful an existence where love is at the heart of all things, but most importantly we find the greatest love at the end of our journey! With Mors-Somnus, we are born into cold and fear, but die to Love.

(Geller, Huchra)
太陽系外縁天体 (1992 QB1) の発見 (Jewitt, Luu)
OLED(いわゆる有機 EL)もその応用の一種。スマホやスマートウォッチはこれなしではもう作れない。これは化学賞かもしれないが。2019年にリチウムイオン電池が化学賞をとってるから、そのうち有機半導体もとるのではないか。

In a down year, schools are scrambling to land QB recruits
The quarterback recruit crop for 2019 is lacking in elite talent. That’s tough if your school needs to land one.
Quarterback is the most important position in football. Most college programs want to carry four on scholarship, which means most schools will sign a QB every year.
Typically, only about 20 are rated four- or five-stars, so demand for elite QBs far outpaces supply. And teams usually do not move on from their No. 1 targets to accept a commitment from another until it is clear they are out of the running for their first choice. Lesser-rated recruits know this.
Given that teams rarely rotate quarterbacks, a top QB will often want to reserve his spot with the school of his choice. QB is also the noted position of leadership, so a committed QB often become a class’ lead recruiter.
Every year, we track the dominoes as they fall. QB1 picks school A, so School B moves on to QB2 as School C moves on to QB3. But then QB1 decommits from School A, and the cycle is thrown into chaos.
2019, though, seems a little different. The 2018 class was loaded with elite quarterbacks. Comparatively, the 2019 class looked a little light. And that was before JT Daniels, the No. 1 overall 2019 player, decided to skip his senior season and enroll at USC a year early. Now, the 2019 QB class is really lacking elites.
And that means teams who really need QBs are scrambling, while those who might not have such a need are considering waiting for 2020.
Summer ‘17: Big 12 powers land standout dual-threats
Oklahoma adds Spencer Rattler of Phoenix, who commits over offers from Miami, Alabama, the Arizona schools, Texas A&M, Texas, and Notre Dame.
Texas has added Roschon Johnson of Port Neches (Texas). Johnson has offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma, and Florida.
Washington adds Dylan Morris of Graham (Washington), and Wake Forest adds Brendon Clark of Midlothian (Virginia)
With Daniels off to USC a year early, and Rattler and Johnson off the board, talent West of the Mississippi is drying up quickly.
2017 football season: Little movement
Michigan State adds Dwan Mathis of Belleville (Michigan), while Rutgers picks up Zamar Wise of Newark (New Jersey).
Wisconsin grabs Graham Mertz of Mission (Kansas). A number of major programs like him, but want to see throw in person. Expect the Badgers to have a battle on their hands. A number of college coaches have told me they love Mertz.
Penn State adds Ta’Quan Roberson, of Wayne (NJ), who chooses the Nittany Lions over Virginia Tech and North Carolina.
Louisville has picked up Jaden Johnson of Memphis.
At this point, the vast majority of SEC and ACC schools are without 2019 quarterbacks.
Winter ‘17-18: New coaches bring new quarterbacks
After coaching change season and the Early Signing Period, a number of new QB commitments are expected, since they often visit for junior days in December, January, and February.
Cale Millen of Snoqualmie (Wash.) kicks things off by committing to Northwestern, while Cole Kramer of Eden Prairie (Minnesota) pledges to Minnesota. Ty Evans of Monument (Colorado) stays in-state and verbals to Colorado. None had many major offers, so this doesn’t look to shake up the QB recruiting scene much.
In a move that everyone saw coming, Bo Nix of Pinson (Alabama) commits to Auburn. Nix is the son of Patrick Nix, who played for Auburn from 1992-95. He is one of the better QBs in the class.
At the end of February, Iowa State picks up Easton Dean of Altamonte (Kan.), and Lance LeGendre of New Orleans pledges to Kansas. Legendre is one to watch, as major programs are intrigued by his film.
Only 15 of the 65 Power 5 programs have verbal commitments from quarterbacks at this point. This is a lot fewer than the 27 committed at the end of February in 2017.
Spring 2018: the dominoes fall
Spring starts with a bang, as Michigan flips Reno (Nevada) QB Cade McNamra from Notre Dame. He also claims offers from Georgia, and USC. Those schools are still without QBs, though it’s not clear all will take one.
Florida takes a commitment from Jalon Jones of Baltimore, a 6’4 athlete who posted a Nike Rating of 104, which is elite for any position, much less a QB. Dan Mullen recruited him heavily while at Mississippi State.
Florida State takes Sam Howell of Monroe (North Carolina) over Taisun Phommachanh (9) of Bridgeport (Connecticut). Both were high on FSU’s board, and the Seminoles would have liked to sign the duo, but weren’t going to take Phommachanh before Howell made his decision. Phommachanh commits to Clemson the next week. Howell was a major target for Tennessee and North Carolina, who are still searching.
Alabama lands Paul Tyson of Trussville (Ala.), the great grandson of legendary Alabama coach Bear Bryant. He is considered a major prospect, but doesn’t set off any dominoes, because nobody expected him to go anywhere else.
The Mississippi schools get into the action as Garrett Shrader of Charlotte commits to Mississippi State, and Grant Tisdale of Allen (Texas) commits to Ole Miss. Shrader is an intriguing target whom schools want to see throw over the summer, as the competition in his high school games is suspect.
Ryan Hilinski of Orange (California) commits to South Carolina. Hilinski was a target of Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M to varying levels.
Max Duggan, of Council Bluffs (Iowa) has committed to TCU. Steve Lubischer, of Red Bank (N.J.) has committed to Boston College.
And Taulia Tagovailoa of Alabaster (Ala.) (formerly Hawaii) has committed to the Crimson Tide to play with his brother, Tua. Tagovailoa is not seen as the same level of prospect as Tua was, but with his level of competitiveness, I’d still bet on him competing for the Tide job. This doesn’t really trigger any dominoes, since no other programs were thought to be in the picture with him.
In late April, Millen decommitted from Northwestern. He later commtted to Oregon in early May.
In early May, Boise State lands Hank Bachmeier, who is rated as the No. 8 QB in the nation, but didn’t have the offer list to match that early lofty rating.
And in mid-May, BYU picks up Jacob Conover of Chandler (AZ). Conover plans to take his LDS Mission before enrolling in the spring of 2021.
Summer ‘18: Camp season
While the spring is apparel showcase season (Adidas, Nike, Under Armour), the summer is when college camps take place. They’re an excellent opportunity for prospects to work hands-on with potential future coaches.
In June, Grant Gunnell of Houston (Texas) committed to Arizona. Gunnell is a tall, talented prospect who was once committed to Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin when Sumlin was the head coach of Texas A&M. There was chatter that Ohio State looked goo for Gunnell, but Buckeye sources indicate other prospects were higher on the board.
And shortly thereafter, Arizona State picks up Joey Yellen, a fast-rising prospect from Mission Viejo (Calif.)
And Wake Forest lost QB Brendon Clark, who decommitted after receiving a Notre Dame offer.
In a move that surprised some, Mertz affirmed his commitment to Wisconsin and completely shut down his recruitment. Notre Dame and Ohio State must now look elsewhere, as he was a prime flip target.
And in mid-June, Zach Calzada of Lanier (Ga.) committed to Texas A&M. I called Calzada the top sleeper QB commit in the nation when I saw him in April.
And Davis Beville of Greenville (SC) committed to Pitt. He has some serious tools.
What’s next?
There are more programs in need of quarterbacks than there are good quarterbacks. While more will emerge over the summer and in the fall, here are some of the top QBs left, and where they might be going.
Jayden Daniels of San Bernadino (Calif.) seems to be trending to the UCLA Bruins. Daniels told me in April that distance would be a factor.
If Michael Johnson Jr. of Eugene (Oregon) was going to go to Oregon where his dad coaches, I’d think it would already be done, so he could start recruiting publicly for the Ducks. My hunch is that he ends up with Mark Richt’s Hurricanes, but Penn State should also be watched.
Then there’s David Baldwin, the QB at IMG Academy in Bradenton (Florida), by way of California. A key factor will be whether he wants to be the only QB in a class. And will he want to head back West for college?
Also keep an eye on Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett’s Justin Fomby, who is gaining interest from SEC programs including Missouri.
Brian Maurer of Ocala (Fla.) isn’t rated highly, but has the size, tools, and very much looked the part at the Elite 11 Finals in June. West Virginia has recruited Maurer well, but he told me he is willing to wait a bit on Ohio State and Florida. Tennessee has also recently picked up its recruitment of Maurer.
Peter Parrish of Phenix City (Ala.) is an elite level athlete who has made big strides as a thrower. He recently visited Florida State’s camp and made an impression. Pitt has also offered.
I’m also watching the flips. Kansas’ LeGendre and South Carolina’s Hilinski are all prospects I’ll be keeping an eye on. Florida State is involved with LeGendre, Ohio State is interested in Hilinski.
I’ll update this frequently.
As of yet, there aren’t that many dominoes which have impacted other schools, but that could certainly change. Other QBs will also likely see their ratings rise during the summer camp season.
And there are some programs, like Georgia, who might elect to sit out the 2019 QB recruiting cycle and instead pursue elect for a preferred walk-on.

Future-Changer
Learn how to predict and change future. http://lulu.com/astrology Tuition guide.
You can predict and change any futurity in minutes, even seconds – by memory – like stroll in the park. All you need is already with you – with a little practice… Tips as follow…
1. Find out your true Sun-sign from the choice of 16 zodiacal positions. 2. The Sun can be in Cetus, Orion, Sextans and Ophiuchus. 3. Sai Baba and Maduro share selfsame Sun in Libra on November 23rd. 4. The Sun is in Virgo for Halloween (Witchallow) as opposed to Illuminati May Day. 5. Venus is typically in Crater, Hydra, Pegasus, Cetus, Orion, Sextans, Ophiuchus… 6. The Moon likes to span through Cetus I II II, Auriga, Fox, Corvus… 7. It takes 20 minute average in a normal person in order to learn how to predict e.g. (next) marriage/date with exceptional accuracy – year, month, day – then hour, minute, second. 8. Prediction is simple matter of e.g. subtracting a few numbers from raw data. 9. A peripatetic Astrologer walks while making predictions and so does future-changer. 10. Future-changing is often applied after accurate prediction. 11. Marriage prediction often requires two numbers only. 12. A novice can thus predict marriage unto whole village in minutes. 13. Timing marriage often involves dynamic synastry. 14. One e.g. meets a girl and automatically directions (“progresses”) horoscope(s). 15. Synastry may direct the A+B/2 formula in space+time. 16. Most astrology is done by memory. However in order to know minute second… 17. Next marriage (or date, etc) gets easily determined by memory up to year, month… 18. Sometimes it is hard to determine day by memory. Depends on case. 19. Some exceptional cases may be very hard to deal with. 20. E.g. Moon in the first house as opposed by all or most planets (in Cetus) square Neptune at Nadir does not bode well. 1992 QB1 at the descendant is ill omen (911 with Eris in Cetus). Of course a horoscope is rather a dynamic than “natal” thing. 21. Venus with LILIT VERA (observed Cassini Lilith) on the 5th cusp squared with Neptune 8th cusp may produce several marriages, utter dissatisfaction along with zero fealty. 22. The worst aspect in the book is not Venus square Neptune (serial betrayal) but Mars 180 Jupiter ||:|:: The Marriageable Maiden (see Aspectarian and also on recent Ram X horrorscopes). 23. Directions are techniques in predictions – some 555 of them as cataloged – quite a few in normal perusal. 24. A novice will peruse primary direction. 25. No computer is needed – it would in fact thwart intelligent analysis. 26. You will not need cell phone device for this adventurity. 27. For extra-precise to-the-minute-second calculi, ephemerids are perused. 28. Ascendant, Cruithne and lunar ephemerids come handy in wedding calculi. 29. One can thus predict marriage since baby’s birth to hour-minute-second. 30. HMS is normal prediction although often the day of the event is precision enough. 31. Future-changing generally falls under #RTRRT category. 32. Sun sign is big ego, thus least important in any Astrology. Learn to ignore it. 33. You will nevertheless need Sun-sign for cardiac and gold market calculi. 34. Now you are the only one on your block, country, continent to know Sun-sign. 35. The Moon or lunar position is trickier by far and ascendant is mystery. 36. Use the search form in order to fetch solar, lunar and ascendant ephemerids. 37. Now you probably know your lunar sign and try and figure out ascendant. 38. Lunar zodiac includes Fox (Canis Minor), Auriga, Corvus, Orion, Ophiuchus… 39. E.g. Kalergi and Saudi boast Moon in Auriga while 911 happened under Orion auspices. 40. Simply type e.g. “Moon Orion” in the search form and you are there for good. 41. By now you probably know your solar and lunar zodiacal positions. 42. The solar zodiac has nothing much to do with the lunar one. 43. The Sun never enters Auriga or Corvus. 44. Sextans is a special solar zodiacal ascendant position e.g. with New Moon in Sextans. 45. Cetus, Orion and Ophiuchus are normal zodiacal ascendants for all planets. 46. Kalki has three (triune) ascendants: Fox, Unicorn and Hydra. 47. There are 67 horoscope signs, where we include Eris and Pluto zodiacs. 48. Every planet has its own zodiac. 49. 1008 planets have been promptly delineated. 50. As 22 and 16 are Tarot-compatible, the Tarot is the Zodiacs. 51. There are 22 zodiacal stations along with 16 ascendants. 52. Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius,Capricornus do not rise at east. 53. Taurine ascendants are extremely rare as perused on the stock market. 54. Gemini is ninety-degrees at north when “astrological” programs miscalculate it at east. 55. Gemini has been last seen at east before Krishna’s own epoch thus long long ago. 56. For thousands of years Gemini never ascended or rose at east. 57. There is no such thing as Gemini ascendant. 58. No -one you know has a “Scorpio” ascendant. 59. The ascendant of the USA is Serpens Cauda. 60. People wrongly labeled as “cold Capricorn” are in fact cetacean having Cetus ascendant. 61. We live in the AEON CETI or Age of Cetus betwixt twin Piscean eras. 62. Pisces, Aquarius and Capricornus are averages, meaning dull periods. 63. Crater, Hydra, Auriga, Eridanus, Corvus, Pegasus and Scutum mark exceptional times. 64. The Aeon of Cetus cuts Piscean era in two around year 2012. 65. 2025 marks the 7th (known) Pegasean era (ERA PEGASI) with Venus in Pegasus. 66. Venus was in Pegasus in the year #2017shift 67. Pisces, Aquarius and Capricornus are averages happen twice. 68. The Moon enters Cetus thrice. 69. Death is predicted by minute. #CancerCure #RTRRT requires seconds. 70. Divination is available in its original “ask 1008 questions” form. 71. Standard 1008 pages horoscope is classified.

Pluto is the most well-known object in all of the Kuiper Belt. Pluto is also the biggest object in it. Comets that come from the Kuiper Belt take less then 200 years to orbit the sun, which is quite a long time. The belt is hypothesized to be the left overs from the formation of the solar system. Making it about 4.6 billion years old. Two astronomers, Dave Jewitt and Jane Luu, didn’t believe the outer solar system was just empty space. Five years of looking past Neptune, they finally saw something 44 AU from the sun. This something was a little reddish dot, very dim and even farther from the sun than Pluto. This speck was called “Smiley” until it was later changed to “1992 QB1″ which isn’t as catchy. This was the beginning of the research of the Kuiper Belt.

What Is the Kuiper Belt?
The Kuiper Belt is a wide region in space, approximately 30-55 AU wide, that goes past the orbit of Neptune. *one AU is equal to 93 million miles. It is chock full of countless “icy bodies” and more than a trillion comets. There are so many bits and pieces out there in the Kuiper Belt because these objects failed to form into full-fledged planets 4.6 billion years ago. You may know one of the more popular Kuiper Belt Objects, Pluto. Yes, the dwarf planet that many of us know and love is, in fact, apart of the Kuiper Belt. However, Pluto was discovered long before the thought of the Kuiper Belt even arose. The idea of the Kuiper Belt was brought into play in 1951 by Gerard Kuiper, who pretty much nailed his prediction about there being “a belt of icy bodies” that lay around Neptune. He believed that this fully explained why some comets orbit and journey around the solar system! The first official Kuiper Belt object was observed by Dave Jewitt and Jane Luu in 1992, and their object has been documented under "1992 QB1″.

Full Moon in Capricorn- Howl at the Moon
“People who shut their eyes to reality simply invite their own destruction.” James Baldwin
Effective Date: July 9th, 2017
Helios’ Astrological Angle on the Full Moon in Capricorn– AHHHHRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! This astro is something else, Heretics- It’s the type that makes you want to just let out a primal, feral scream because that’s all that really makes sense anymore. This is the buildup to the eclipses, you guys- They are coming. This moon aims to get you ready for the true magic of some truly major eclipses, ones unlike anything we have really seen before. You are in for an intensely Shamanic ride this time, and you are going to need to do battle with your darkness and your light, all to get back your soul.
Artemis’ Tarot Take on the Full Moon in Capricorn- Are you scared of where you’re going? Do you have no faith, sailor, in following the stars? This full moon is the turbulent waters before the storm – when the wind is whipping at your sails and your crew is growing anxious. Will this storm take us off course, or will we bear it and harness it and move through it? This one is going to require a lot of will power and a decisive choice concerning where you want to go next – moves toward vitality and an end to this mopey, depressive slump. You are molting, Heretics, and it’s time to push out of your old carcass and be born anew.
The Sun, Moon, and Pluto– So, what do we have this time? Well, Cap Moons are always difficult, as the Moon is in the sign of its detriment, but a Full Moon, with Pluto? Lordt, if there was ever an Ayahuasca Moon, this would be it…. This does lend itself one very interesting gift, however- Emotional detachment. As the vast majority of people I have heard from have been struggling with a deluge of emotion, not being able to pull their head up above water, this can be exactly what is needed. Unfortunately, it’s never quite that simple- When you move into the detachment mode, you are going to need to process everything that you have been running from: All your loss, your pain, your failures, your wounded egos, your rage and the darkness you try to keep locked away that threatens to swallow you whole. All of it will come up now, the very second that you are able to detach and let your soul breathe. The most crucial thing you need to remember is not to run from it, not this time. This time, I want you to stand your ground, but don’t fight it; Hold fast and let it all overtake you. Allow it to win. Notice how I chose my words, not saying give up- that’s because this is only part of the process, part of the magic. When you allow it to saturate you, seeping into you, truly feeling it and giving it what it needs, only then can it be released- and the shit that you carry doesn’t just need released, it need expunged! We’re talking full-tilt, Linda Blair in the Exorcist style. When you do this, you will be raw. You will feel empty. Do not seek to fill the void in you with the poison you just went through hell to get rid of. Walking into these eclipses empty is right, and it’s better to go light than weighed down with your baggage.
(Minor Planets used: Deucalion, Ceto, Psyche, Arachne, Hidalgo, Niobe, Ophelia)
The Sun (The Star), Moon (2 of Swords), and Pluto (3 of Swords)- Idiots are happier people. I mean, it’s true, right? The more you know, the more you are destroyed a little inside. So why are we so obsessed with seeking? Why are we so against living in a state of ignorant bliss in the primal sea of life? Why do we constantly choose to go into the cycles once again?
Obviously, if you are reading what I am writing right now, you are a seeker. We are pioneers. We are compelled to look instead of remain; grow instead of decay. We have instincts that call to us. In your instincts lies the knowledge of billions of years of life on this planet. Here is where trust comes in. You have to have trust that it is going somewhere. That is the only thing that will get you out of this depressive area. This is Cancer season talk- shaman talk – ayahuasca energy, as Helios said. You have to consolidate the opposing energies of Cancer and Capricorn during this time, where Capricorn ferociously will demand to know (always the depressives, the Capricorns), while Cancer will demand trust in the universal plan – follow the waves (though somehow they are also depressives xD). Capricorn does not like the waves. Capricorn will create schematics for a machine to blow a hole through the ocean so they can walk across to their destination uninterrupted. Capricorn is the architect while Cancer is the primordial waters. The Mother and the Father. Two opposing poles that we have to somehow dance between. This archetype is being played up even more during this time, flavored by Mars and Pluto. So expect that something will happen, more specifically a situation where you will clearly see the split between your mind and emotions and how you are constantly a slave to one or the other. You must combine the two, and this Full Moon will make sure you figure that out, because these two guys never leave without causing some kind of disruption in our lives. I mean, it’s the god of the underworld and the god of war flavoring this lunation, so this will be some tough love. A lot of people can’t handle an aggressive parenting style, and may go a bit mad at this time. The rest of us are going to be left with the duty of holding other people up through this transit. Be a good friend – these times are going to be very tough for all of us.
Mercury and Venus– I remember, years ago when I was doing an abysmal play called the Crucible (2 hours of drudgery in which I was the only comic relief)- I’ve blocked most of it out by now, but there was one part of the writing that I didn’t understand, the word base in reference to human nature. I had never come across the phrase before, and it tripped me up because I didn’t know what it meant. I was out of touch with my own base nature, and quite a bit of the cognitive dissonance you are currently experiencing is from you being out of touch with yours as well. These two are the civilized planets, diplomacy and compromise, thought and peace… But in this moon, they turn savage, wild. Venus has her roots in the oldest magic there ever was- fertility; Mercury knows that there is a wisdom to the wild nature that is all it’s own. What is asked of you is to shed your skin as a thinking being, and remember that we are wild creatures- screaming monkeys tricked into thinking we are civilized, and separate from our nature. Well, now it’s time for you to get back to it. There is a vitality to this moon, but it is raw and untamed. To work with it, you need to shape-shift, and reclaim your wild heart.
(Minor Planets used: Pallas Athene, Pan, Orcus, 1992 QB1, Circe, Atropos)
Mercury (Page of Swords) and Venus (Queen of Wands)- These two cards have a similarity to these two planets. The Page of swords, like Mercury, has a lot to say, and it is all coming from it’s head. The Queen of Wands is a sexual being, made of magick and lust and burning feminine power. The other important detail about this combination- the Page of Swords makes Mercury come across as a bombastic ego maniac with too much too say; that philosophy student that is also in debate and science club, may wear a fedora. Mercury being in Leo will make this all the more dramatic and bombastic. Don’t immediately trust what you see, because a lot of people are good yet stuck in an ideology – try and feel it out instead. Mercury is going to be hard to deal with – your brain is overrun with anxiety and over-thought, but you’ve got to get into the body and the earth right now to make it through this lunation. Set your facebook debates aside.
As for Venus, you need to remember that there are many ways to understand if people are good for you – if they are draining your energy or replenishing it. We need our energy in order to do our work, so feel these people out at the gut level and sever the cord between you. This Venus will have aspects to Chiron, you are being forced to painfully submit to healing. It’s like swallowing nasty tasting medicine to kill a parasite. Get those blood suckers out of your life, because you are literally flipping your future self off by keeping vitality wasters in your life.
Venus in Gemini is playful, she likes to spar with you but she is also friendly. She is a sapiosexual, and body and mind are connected for her. Dig deep into your sacral chakra during this time, and the third eye – connect mind and body/heart. This is very Sekhmet energy. Your hungry, animal nature will lead the way to destroying the mental demons that are plaguing you. Go do something that gets you in touch with your body, and do it immediately.
Mars and Saturn– So in case you haven’t noticed, not only is this a dry run for the Eclipses that we are about to run into, we need to also consider this a warm-up for something else that is coming: Saturn in Capricorn. You guys, this transit is going to change EVERYTHING and it will be on us quicker than you have any concept of. Not only will Saturn be in Capricorn, but Jupiter and Pluto will be there as well, leading us to the Mother (or should I say Daddy?) of all Saturn moments. But that is not today’s problem- today we have Mars and Saturn. So they are both at the end of their runs through the signs, the old soldier weighed down with the burden of what he has done, and the general who made him do it. Of course, both are characters in your own psyche, so you have this back and forth going on with yourself. You are taking yourself to task for the mistakes that you have made, and I won’t lie to you- Some of them are bad. Some of them you will have to own up to. But what good is it to rake yourself over the coals for something that you can’t do anything about? I speak from experience, as I have been anything but forgiving to myself lately over my own missteps- But it isn’t helping. Look, taking yourself to task and constantly berating yourself over your ineptitude is easy, it can be done automatically- At some point though, if you want to move forward, you have to stop and actually forgive yourself. I unfortunately do not have any advice beyond the theory here, as I am still crucifying myself over mistakes I made when I was five years old.
My point is, stop playing the martyr. Come down off of your cross, there’s work to be done.
(Minor Planets used: Eris, Ixion, Haumea, Borasisi, Chaos, Sisyphus, Hephaistos, Heracles, Panacea)
Mars (Knight of Cups) and Saturn (Ace of Cups)- Cancer season is a mirror, and we have to look into the mirror right now and accept what we see. This sense of perfection that you cast down at yourself is going to suffocate you during Saturn in Capricorn, so your best bet is to leave it here at the doorstep of North Node in Leo eclipses. You need to have an honest as fuck conversation with yourself on what are your most vital needs, and you need to develop an internal army to gather those needs at any cost. This means your pride cannot waver. Your belief and optimism and life through the heart are the only way to get back into the flow of life. Rekindle a hunger for your best interests. There are no hopeless causes, only people who submit to hopelessness. There is always a way out if you move like water.
Jupiter and Neptune– No big moment ever happens in a vacuum– each is brought on by thousands of little moments, inconsequential choices at the time, all of which cascade back and lead to a wave that becomes a tsunami. So too, you find yourself in a position that you do not recognize, but if you track back all your decisions up til now, you can see the path unfolding behind you to get you here. That is all well and good, but how can you use that to extrapolate where you are going? Easy- You are in the ONLY position to do so. Take where you are, and identify your goals, where you want to be. Then honestly and without any kind of wooly-mindedness, identify the choices that you will need to make to get there. Your best shot at predicting the future is to create it, I swear to you. These assholes will try to make it difficult for you, but only if you refrain from taking an active role in your own life, allowing it to happen to you. If you stop trying to force it, yet relax into flow, you will find this easy. Go with the current.
(Minor Planets used: Praamzius, Teharonhiawako, Mors-Somnus, Icarus, Echeclus, Sappho, Minerva, Amor)
Jupiter (6 of Swords) and Neptune (9 of Swords)- So you had some dreams smashed lately, but that’s okay. Remember, as bad as the heartache can be, there is always something waiting on the other side. The earth is boundless, and you need to adopt this philosophy if you are to grow in this world. I was gardening with my amazing Scorpio friend a few weeks ago and she said to me that they had to whip the trees in order to get them strong enough to grow. I looked at her with utter shock when she said this. Whip the trees? What in the fuck? But it was true. The pain made them yearn to reach, to grow thicker skin, to flourish. Otherwise, when a big storm kicked up, they would die. They wouldn’t be ready for a worse kind of pain… Your life has been shifting before your eyes, it’s time to accept the need for change and adjustment; to actually listen to the pain and learn from it instead.
Uranus and Chiron– Here we see the core of this moon, it’s primal beating heart. We have the oldest gods imaginable here, the truest needs we have, Centaurs, and the indescribable urge to just let it all loose- no matter who we hurt along the way. This is good. It tells us that although we are battered and bruised, and looking for someone to take our hurt out on, we are finally open enough to really heal. The hurt you feel is in stark comparison to the uncomfortable numbness and malaise we are used to. This is progress. More than that, this is your humanity that you feel again, after what feels like centuries of being a robot, a god, a rock- Hell, anything that makes it so that you don’t have to feel something. All the work that you have been doing? This is the reward! Yes, it is messy, yes it is uncomfortable, yes it might just destroy you to feel again. Too bad. You made this mess, you took on the work to actually fix it, now DO it. Not only that, you have built this knowledge up over a long period of time- You KNOW that this is how it goes. What, did you think that you were immune from the effects? That you were somehow different or special? No, sorry- this is how it goes for all of us. You have the knowledge, the experience, and the will; You have done the work to get to this point, and this is no place to stop. Prove to everyone that you are up to this challenge. Show the universe never to bet against you, and come back from the brink!
(Minor Planets used: Varuna, Quaoar, Ceres, Pholus, Thereus, Rhiphonos, Typhon, Pandora, Eros, Itokawa)
Uranus (10 of Cups) and Chiron (The Fool)- So your choices matter, Heretics. We can go anywhere from where we are now. When your ego is pummeled and you can’t seem to find joy in what is, then find joy in beginning again. We must be open to the death of timelines before us, and get far more serious about our life path. The ego needs to be rebuilt. It should not be smothered but used in the appropriate way. It is a tool to get you to where you need to go, like sails or oars on a ship. Now use these eclipses to move in healing ways that will make your solar plexus strong enough to get you to make decisive moves toward future selves. We all must have a sun/goals in life – now innovate a new way of healing for yourself so that you can finally move into a healthier, more vital version of yourself. Habits aren’t hard to form if you just decide, once and for all, to do something. Now truly, deeply, choose. What is keeping you from this far more positive choice? What is keeping you in your bad habits? Dig deep and choose joy instead. And howl out the pain of this decision, Heretics.

My hunch is that he ends up with Mark Richt’s Hurricanes.
Davis Beville of Greenville (SC) has some real tools. Pitt has done a great job establishing a connection with him.
Brian Maurer of Ocala (Fla.) isn’t rated highly, but has the size, tools, and very much looked the part at the Elite 11 Finals in June. West Virginia has recruited Maurer well, but he told me he is willing to wait a bit on Ohio State and Florida.
