This Father’s Day Sunday morning we were blessed by listening to a sermon my Dad preached at our local church in 2009, before Parkinson’s took away his strength and voice. We heard him speak on The Fatherhood of God and the specific ways it applies (and doesn’t) to humanity in general, to the Lord Jesus in particular, and to those of us who believe in Him. As usual with Dad’s preaching it was clear, Bible-based, and illustrated with helpful stories and examples from life to bring the points home. . My father passed into the presence of the Lord on January 20 this year, four days before his 95th birthday. In the 1970s, this is how you canned your vegetables! This food photo was shot by Will Rousseau who worked out of a kitchen photo studio in NYC in the 1970s and 1980s. That was back in the day when it could take 10 hours to get one good shot and much of the real food used was meant to resemble something else. Mashed potatoes were used in place of ice cream, white glue was used for milk, Angel food cakes stood in for soufflés and food coloring brightened many a meal. Here she is photographed in Loule, Portugal wearing an outfit by Yves Saint Laurent with a straw hat from Herbert Johnson. British Vogue, January 1973.⁣ ⁣ Born in Finland and based in Paris, ‘Mouche’ was the modelling name of Agneta Bylander who enjoyed a successful career in late 1960s and early 1970s fashion magazines. Shots of Mouche appeared on iconic covers of Italian Vogue and she also modelled for Biba’s controversial poster shortly before the boutique’s last days in Kensington High Street. As well as her modelling career, Mouche studied at the Liverpool Art College. Nice juxtaposition. Also - bravo on the sky! It's always such a waste when someone photos a big swatch of sky with nothing in it. Give me clouds and/or color or give me no sky!
