CREEPY “CANCER BOTTLES” UNEARTHED AT THE HAUNTED CRESCENT HOTEL - Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Pictured: The University of Arkansas dig-site on the grounds of the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs (April, 2019). On February 5th, 2019, the facility landscaper, while working a new plot on the grounds of the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa, unearthed some curious, old glass bottles/jars buried beneath the soil. After notifying authorities and contacting archaeologists from the Arkansas Archaeology Survey (University of Arkansas) a scientific dig was soon initiated to recover what appeared to be dozens of bottles filled with “cancerous tissue” and liquids that date to the 1930s-period when the hotel operated as the infamously notorious Cancer Curable Baker Hospital. The Baker Hospital was a quack enterprise that exploited the sick amidst horrible conditions and caused countless misery and death. Known to have been displayed in the morgue, at one time, the morbid cancer specimen collection was believed to have been disposed of at a local dump in the 90s - but, as it turns out, the creepy collection of cancerous containers was simply buried in an old fire pit just behind the now-hotel. By April, the dig was able to exhume over 400 different glass containers filled with a variety of types of tumorous tissue. The Crescent Hotel, a location with a reputation of being haunted (“The Most Haunted Hotel in America”) due to the horrid conditions from its hospital days, embraces its haunted history and intends to return the jars to their place in the basement morgue to be displayed - and to, hopefully, trigger more ghostly activity. SAMMIE VISITS HAUNTED ROOM 218 - Brave Sammie Huntington standing outside the most haunted room at the Haunted Crescent Hotel (built in 1886) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It is reportedly occupied by the spirit of an Irish-born construction worker (from St. Louis) named "Michael" who fell to his death while working on the floors above. A number of popular ghost hunting TV shows, and multitudes of paranormal researchers, have reported ghostly activity (moving objects, weight on the bed from an invisible presence, cold spots, and spectral touches) in Room 218. No strange activity to report on our visit other than the Boys' normally bizarre behavior. ONE OF THE MOST HAUNTED HOTELS: THE CRESCENT - Diane and the Boys pose for a pic before we begin to explore the haunted hallways of one of America's "Most Haunted Hotels," the Crescent. The Crescent Hotel (built 1886) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas was once a notorious cancer hospital where untold thousands died due to fraudulent exploitation and abusive care. In this beautiful Victorian-style retreat, guests report seeing the ghosts of doctors, nurses, and patients (and a few spectral CHILDREN). A number of popular ghost hunting reality TV shows, such as "Ghost Hunters," have investigated/filmed here. We went through all of the floors of the hotel looking for spirits - no strange encounters reported. The Boys had fun...Robbie used a protective/ghost-detecting amulet during our investigation. In these very halls, guests continue to report seeing spectral visions of doctors, nurses, and patients who remain tied to this location as ghostly spirits. A few of the ghosts are also, allegedly, the spirits of some children who once lived here. On our visit here, we saw plenty of kids running around, but none of them were ghosts - as far as we know!
