Legend let out a long breath, eyes losing focus as he somehow sank further into the blankets. The siren song of sleep was rushing up to meet him, tugging insistently even as he caught a vague glint of light off metal-

He stiffened, body reacting before his sleep-addled mind could catch up.

It happened again, an unmistakable gleam in the twilight. He blinked, squinting past his haze, and the blur that had overtaken his vision resolved into a person, sat directly in his line of sight. Their arm was raised, more of the blue fabric slipping off as they leaned forwards - likely intent on breaking up the brawl. But Legend only had eyes for the light that once again rippled across their shoulder.

Across the pauldron strapped to it.

Armour.

Link froze, fully awake in an instant.

They were wearing armour.

These were no merchants.

absolutely obsessed with a mourn watch rook that keeps most of the necromancy stuff to themselves and doesn't really talk about it much until emmrich comes along

like once he joins the party it's pretty much 100% mask off for rook and the rest of the party gets total whiplash from it

and rook themselves doesn't even realize it until harding points it out while rook and emmrich are talking about manfred and the debate about whether the resurrected keep parts of their souls or not

Jade Shadows update coming June 18!

features a new cinematic quest: Jade Shadows. It picks up after The New War (so it's got TNW as a prerequisite) where the storyline of the Stalker left off. Rebb and the crew request that folks not spoil the quest for others after playing it. Use spoiler tags if possible! Quest runtime ~ 25 min There's a teaser for the story quest, featuring the Stalker hanging upside down like a bat:

New Warframe: Jade!

Pablo describes her as a support frame. Her passive is two aura mod slots which is kind of crazy ngl

Her kit briefly summarized:

1: throws a little mote with an AOE effect of healing for allies and increasing damage taken to enemies

2: cycle through various squad buffs. The UI art for these is really gorgeous

3: a debuff: enemies in her sight are slowed and lose armor. You also revive any dead allies in your vision.

4: floating and a zappy exalted weapon. It's kind of like Hildryn's four but basically better in every way because you can actually set off large amounts of damage and fly higher and faster. The exalted weapon has synergy with her 1 and 2.

As Pablo mentioned, Jade's abilities provide a lot of combo potential, good for any "min maxers" in the audience.

Jade's three signature weapons: the Cantare throwing knives, the Harmony scythe, and the Evensong bow (a variant on the Dread).

The Ascension game mode: "what if Warframe but up?"

Non-endless There's a giant elevator you have to feed with energy. The team's video crashed so Rebb gave what I'd call an excited 12 year old's description of the game mode instead which I loved:

There's this giant elevator that needs energy to go up. So you have to keep feeding it ionic charges so you rise out of the depths. And as you're feeding, the Corpus are there! *excitable machine gun noises* And then you're like, oh god! And then you have to, like, jump around-- but if you fall out of the elevator, you better hope you're good at parkour, and that you can read the level to get back up! and back up! and back up! And then: you have to make it to the top. But that's not all. Once you get to the top of the elevator, you gotta escape. You gotta make a run for it before the Corpus hold you back! Aahhh! Aah! Ah! …and that's Ascension. :)

Once we finally watch the video preview of the game mode later I think it looks fun. The level looks really neat; I love the graphics of the inside of the elevator. There's a new Jade Light eximus enemy here but I can't really tell any details about it quite yet.

ORDIS IN LARUNDA RELAY!

He's hosting the clan operation Belly of the Beast (featuring above Ascension game mode). In his shop is the Asteria ephemera, which evolves with community participation. Also some arcanes… and a beautiful skin for the Hate.

"If you're a hater, this is for you." Hilariously the arcanes are capped at 42 each because apparently in Gargoyle's Cry certain players went crazy burning themselves out to stock up on arcanes, and the team is trying to prevent that (and players blaming them for their own bad choices, as always). Two full sets each is more than enough, frankly.

Status Rework!

Blast now does a secondary detonation, or if hitting 10 blast procs, creates an AOE explosion. This is exactly what I have been wanting for ages so I, personally, am thrilled.

Magnetic now scales with overguard and shields the same way, and also does a secondary punch of damage (and an electric proc!) once the shield is broken.

Cold should freeze enemies more often now… and came with a free Frost rework! Now Frost's abilities give proper cold procs, thus freezing enemies, which is now standardized across his abilities. His 1 has been buffed and his 3 snowglobe has been modified (to allow shooting from in to out but not out to in). He has a new passive: his armor scales with the number of cold procs enemies have (like the defensive version of Ember).

There's a lot of testing going on right now on the interaction between ragdolling and freezing enemies.

There's a change to damage vulnerability mechanics which I didn't quite follow; seems to be mostly a simplification of the system.

Armor damage attenuation scaling, as mentioned in the last devstream, now has a cap, meaning corrosive procs should be more effective.

UI autoscaling with resolution (to prevent tiny UI bars for people with huge resolutions), also coming with ability to scale the UI back down.

"Donut numbers" for damage view that do not cover the enemy you are shooting (old way can still be switched back to, called "cloud.")

Awakening quest has a lil fashion preview now!

QOL!

Cap on adversaries (liches and sisters) at 150. For the sake of database health. The programmer in me is mildly concerned that there was no limit before this.

Semi auto becoming full auto (see last devstream for more detailed description).

Automatic selection of last relic during endless relic cracks.

Streamlining necramech acquisition.

Unifying melee finishers and mercy kills (both with mechanics and appearance).

The return of Heirloom skins: starting with community art this time

First major change (from last year's disastrous heirloom launch) is the heirloom collections will now be released one warframe at a time.

Ember Heirloom is also a purchased fanartist concept!

Two paths to acquire it: a temporary paid path (for money, comes with some plat) and a plat path that will be available until next heirloom launch (and you can purchase the cosmetics individually!)

This is much better than last year's Heirloom launch, which, as aforementioned, caused a lot of community strife.

Youtube suddenly keeps recommending me some insightful videos about love and some really good movie clips with good lines so I gave some a watch and it's been really inspiring (little women, good will hunting, forrest gump etc)

Of course I wouldn't be able to really know what's been going on in the author's heads as they wrote him but I do feel like Hikaru really did love Ai...; upon having watched those. The stuff that's been going about that character is so very vague, and seemingly really messed up, but I really don't think he's lied about how he feels about her, as in he can sacrifice his life for her or has loved her from the bottom of his heart and all that. Those must be all true. I sense that... That's something I just sense very strong. He really did love her so much the way I see it and I somehow... Can't really picture it having been the foul kind. I think they loved each other.

I'm pretty sure Ai meant the world to him and he just didn't know what to do without her so he started acting out, based on ideas he's heard of or out of some sort of conviction he got somehow... I've no idea how he turned out like that but... I think he really missed her after she was gone and; he never could recover from that. She was just that important to him. He probably did a lot of wrong things but, that state he's in is still pretty sad. I say this because he's not real. You can't really sympathize or defend someone like him in real life but, what really happened though???; what did he go through?; anyhow... Seeing the comments of people describing their lives and expressing how they feel about their beloved, soulmates and losses... I do feel like him and Ai were really soulmates. That's why he became so broken when she died like that and he couldn't see her anymore. I guess that character just couldn't accept it having happened(who would. It was terrible...)

Having found someone you care about so much to the extent it felt like it was the only thing that's made you alive and losing it in such a horrible way? Yeah, you can't bear that. That's why he's constantly crying in the songs going he can't live without Ai and he can give anything if she comes back, his own life without question. That's very sad. Whatever mess he's become of and the story for that matter, this was and is something I could strongly sense regarding that particular character and ship and yup.. It must really occur between people.

I think it's still a good thing to have found someone like that...some people never do. The loss was unbearable though. It caused so many things as well; :/ I mean I'm not sure if the plot of onk would have even happened if they never loved each other. It ended so bad but;

What I love about comparing Idolish7 and Ensemble Stars is the fact that i7 has realistic storylines with intricately carved characters grounded in a mildly-supernatural (and, like, canonically, too) world with the worst timeline there ever was while enstars has somewhat unrealistic storylines with the most insane characters grounded in a Definitely Realistic No Supernatural Things Here (lying voice but nothing is ever confirmed) world where people are normal heights and age normally

Oh oh oh we’re doing this bit again. The Free Will Check In that we’ve had a couple of times before - at the end of Acid Tokyo, and at the end of Infinity. It’s our small little decompression arc where the characters suffer in the wake of the tragedy that has happened, where they call Yuuko for information and each of them has a chance to decide for themselves what they want to do and if they want to continue. 

Of course, being where they are in the plotline, and all of them being so far into their character arcs, this is fastest yet. In the same page that Yuuko asks them they’ve all already answered - they’re all going, and their expressions on Fai and Kurogane’s faces make me want to CRY. 

It’s a deceptively quick moment for what it means for them all, but in a pattern of threes this is the third time they’ve confirmed they’re going all in on saving their family no matter what.

On the page before, Lava Lamp declares that he’s going to save BOTH Sakura’s, not just the one that matches him. He isn’t going to let Sakura die (hopefully implying once again that EVEN THOUGH WE SAW HER DIE, TWICE, Perhaps Sakura can still be saved)

Fai chooses to save her as well, because of course he does. He’s loved her on purpose this entire time and knew the truth every step of the way. He is DEVOTED to this Sakura, and he will do anything he needs to save her. 

But more importantly this is his first choice made openly and willingly, with no doomed narrative holding him hostage, with no manipulative family or evil wizards pushing him towards either outcome. Every other time they were asked this he didn’t have this luxury - he NEEDED to continue, for his mission, for his brother, to fix everything he thought he started, to enact someone else’s plans. But HERE he’s free of it all. This is the Post-Seresu Fai, who has no ghosts haunting him, no death wish, and has finally chosen that he can LIVE and be HAPPY and love the people around him. So, this choice he makes finally and completely Just Because He Wants To - and he’s making the EXACT same choice he chose every step of the way. To save Sakura, because he loves Sakura. 

AND LET’S NOT EVEN TOUCH ON KUROGANE - WHO IS FINALLY BACK IN NIHON AND INSTANTLY CHOSES TO LEAVE IT. 

He’s HOME, here with Tomoyo, his ultimate goal - but back in Acid Tokyo he had said that he had two goals. It was true then and it was true now - as much as he loves Tomoyo, he loves his new family just as much, and so he’s going to save Sakura too. 

And OH I hope we get a conversation between him and Tomoyo about this because I LOVE THIS FOR HIM and yet it’s so poetic it hurts.
