Существуют две фамилии А. разного происхождения. 1) А., предок которых жалован был поместьем от Ивана IV в 1580; 2) Потомки «мещерина»* Владимира Нагаева сына А., написанного в 1595 в десятню мещерян детей боярских и пожалованного поместьем. От этого Владимира и происходит рязанский род А., который был внесен в VI ч. ДРК Тамбовской и Симбирской губерний, а в 1832 внесен в ту же ч. по Рязанской губ. Родовое имение А., с. Алеево, находилось в Шацком у. Тамбовской губ. Герб А. помещен в Общий Гербовник (ч. IV, стр. 58) и имеет следующее описание: «Щит разделен горизонтально на две части, из коих в верхней, в красном поле изображен золотой крест и под ним крестообразно два серебряных ружья. В нижней части в голубом поле – золотая решетка, на поверхности которой по серебряной полосе виден натянутый лук и стрела, летящая вверх. Щит увенчан обыкновенным дворянским шлемом с дворянской на нем короной и тремя страусовыми перьями. Намет на щите голубой и красный, подложен золотом”.

do you have (or know of) a guide for reading loki comics? i've tried getting into it but the backlog of comic history is just overwhelming. if not that, have you read some standalone issues you would recommend? thank you, your blog is a lot of fun!

There are a few lists, this is the one I started with, which is nice because it is linked, so if you have Marvel Unlimited (like netflix, but for the entire back catalogue of marvel), you can click through. (Also I have since learned that the links are not really necessary, because you can pretty much google series name #issue number, and it will be one of the first or second results, usually.)

I’ve also used this one, which is quite thorough, for example it also includes the one-off issue a lot of lists miss, from 1949: http://chantofthemagpie.blogspot.com/2018/02/loki-reading-order-marvel-comics.html (it is also the work of @nlhollow (which, btw, thank you!))

As far as recommendations, I am not sure if you mean specifically the classic comics, or Loki comics overall. If you haven’t read any, I would actually recommend starting with the reset in 2011, and a couple following books that form one story:

1. Loki: Journey into Mystery: A Comedy in Thirty Parts (And Tragedy in Thirty-One) (JiM) #622-645 (starts here: https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/39901/journey_into_mystery_2011_622 ) (This is the kid loki series. I was somewhat weirded out by the prospect of Loki being a kid, but seriously: it is totally him and it is brilliant.)

2. The Young Avengers (2013) #1-15 (https://www.marvel.com/comics/series/17647/young_avengers_2013 )

3. Agent of Asgard (AoA) #1-17 (https://www.marvel.com/comics/series/18340/loki_agent_of_asgard_2014_-_2015 ) (It is best to follow a list reading order because there are a few points where other events/books get intermixed. Actually this is true for all three of these. Reading orders should say when to jump over to another issue.)

(After AoA, Loki appears regularly over the past few years in a few different Thor books, as well as guest appearances in Squirrel Girl, Doctor Strange, and the Avengers (etc) but it is usually only a few issues at a time, up to the present solo series, which just started in July (and may or may not be ending already, unfortunately).)

This is my suggestion mainly because it is how I got into them, and aside from that they (especially JiM and AoA) are just gorgeous works of art/storytelling --whether or not you care particularly about either comics or Loki.

If you’ve already read those, and are specifically wondering about the classic comics - I’ve only made it from 1962-1970 (plus the 1949 one-off) on those, so there’s a ton I still haven’t read! Single ones that stand out, hmm. JiM #85 is fun because it is the first of modern Loki’s appearances: https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/9781/journey_into_mystery_1952_85 ) I also like JiM #94 (Thor gets a ‘cognitive recalibration’ (=hit on the head) and teams up with Loki to try to take over Asgard by threatening earth: https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/9791/journey_into_mystery_1952_94 )

The early years, fair warning, do not generally present a particularly...nuanced view of the character, and while there are multi-issue arcs, they tend to mostly focus on Thor and some other separate villain. (In short, you can tell he’s more than an average villain because he’s a main character, but there is not really much interiority/it requires rather actively reading for subtext to get beyond the surface. Incidentally, one of the coolest things the kid loki series I mentioned above does is provide an angle for contextualizing his earlier characterization, within the story, which is another good reason to start there.

As far as 1970-2009 or so, there are lists like this, but I can’t vouch for them since I’m mostly trying to go in order and haven’t read any. But they do list one-offs that might be good: https://www.cbr.com/the-greatest-loki-stories-ever-told/

The World of Zenith has 417.8 days in a year, and 27 hours in a day. Askr divides this into three seasons of five months, with each month lasting 27 days each. Due to the missing days all of the generates, Askr has a four day long intercalary month at the end of every season. Additionally, at the end of every five years, Askr adds another additional four days. These are all holidays.

Askr counts years in a system of centuries, and breaks these 100 year periods further down into uneven parts referred to as Cycles. These Cycles are of great spiritual/cultural importance.

There are nine days in a week, and three days in a month.

Author’s note: this whole calendar series is headcanons. so is this.

The year Kiran arrived was the 6th year of the Resolution cycle. War with Embla broke out again the year before that, during the 5th year of the Resolution cycle.

Alfonse and Bruno were born several months apart, during the last year of the Remembrance cycle. Sharena, meanwhile, was born the following year during the first year of the Solitude cycle. About halfway through Solitude, Veronica was born in Embla, and either during that year or slightly after it, Bruno was exiled from Embla and arrived in Askr, assuming the name Zacharias. About two years later, the Emblian political situation fell apart due to the death of the emperor and the resulting power struggle. The Emblian Regency, as it was called, lasted three more years until the Empress, in a very shrewd demonstration of statescraft, finally reached and finalized a truce during the new year festivities. This officially took place during the very beginning of the first year of Resolution, although in truth it was a few days before during the Divinity Minor cycle. A few years after that, Zacharias departed Askr.

Currently, Askr is just now transitioning into the Devotion cycle. Hel!Zenith, being five years ahead of base Zenith, is about third of the way through the Devotion cycle, which they have gone back to calling by its original name, the Sacrifice Cycle.

Some random person named Fire Emblem was born on some random date, say, April 20, 1990. So, to find Fire’s Askran birthday…

FEH began on February 7th, 2017, so let’s say Fire traveled to Askr that very first day. This means that when Fire traveled to Askr, they were 27 years old, and around about 9791 days old (online calculators can do that calculation for you)!

9791/417.8 = about 23.43. This means Fire’s Askran age when they arrived was about 23.43.

The whole number here is 23, with the decimal being .43. So!

106 - the whole number (which was 23) = 82. This means Fire was born sometime in year 82, which, if we look back over the year post, means Fire was born in the 7th year of Reflection.

Now, let’s take that decimal to task. The decimal (0.43) * 417 = 179.31 days. This means Fire was born on the 179th day of year 82! Looking over our chart, we see that is in Hathuthr.

Now what? Well, now it’s just counting! Hathuthr, according to the lovely chart, lasts from day 166 to day 193. If we count days, we find that day 179 of Hathuthr is also the 14th day of the month! According to our second lovely chart, that day of the week is Kródegangr 2. So! Fire Emblem’s full Askran birthday would be:

Kródegangr 2, Hathuthr, 7th year of Reflection.

They would be 23 Askran years/27 Earth years old when they arrived. Hathuthr is a dry bitter winter month during the second season (the Holy Season). Unfortunately, if Fire wanted to celebrate their Earth birthday, they’d have to do math every single year. And who’s got time for that?
