Sunflower, vol. 6

Hi everyone, this is my first post on Tumbrl and I wanted it to be the first chapter of the fan fiction I wrote a few days ago. The protagonist is clearly Harry Styles and I completely invented the ‘writing process’ behind the song:’Sunflower, vol. 6′. I will post the next chapters randomly. One more thing, English is not my first language, so I’m sorry for any mistake. Hope you’ll enjoy reading it <3

Chapter 1: Professional Purposes

The exotic plants and the atmosphere reminded him of the jungle. He was just like a mini Indiana Jones.

It hadn’t changed a bit. Even if 15 years had passed, the door still squeaked as soon as he opened it to enter the building.

A song was playing in the background, but it was too soft to catch which one it was. There was nobody there to welcome him. He looked around, hoping to spot the florist somewhere. And there she was. The lovely young lady was sitting on a stool behind the counter, reading a book. She didn’t hear him come in, probably.

Harry walked towards her and he could see half of the title, from where he was standing: ‘How Not to Kill Your Houseplants’. He thought it was a weird choice, for a florist. Anyway, he coughed twice to get her attention and as soon as he did it, her eyes shot up and stared at him. Harry was mesmerised: she was stunning.

‘Good morning, sir’ she politely greeted him, hiding her book away, ‘How can I help you?’

Harry greeted her back and: ‘I am looking for flowers.’

It was the stupidest thing he ever said. It was obvious that he was looking for flowers, why would he step in a florist if not for flowers?

The girl giggled, ‘It seems like you are in the right place.’

‘I meant for Mother’s day.’ Harry scratched the back of his head, a clear sign of embarrassment taking over his features.

‘Does your mom like anything in particular?’ she questioned him.

Harry told her he didn’t know, ‘I’m in your hands, Emily.’ he was finally able to read the name tag, which was hidden by her long blonde hair.

‘I would personally choose something unique like lilies.’ Emily walked Harry to the right section of the store, ‘Lilies express devotion.’

She showed him the lilies, then the roses and the chrysanthemums. Harry was inebriated with the heady scents. Emily explained the possible meanings behind the flowers and she clearly knew a lot more.

Harry couldn’t really decide, he would have bought them all. Thankfully he had someone else to help him figure out what was the suitable bouquet for Anne.
