Jack and Cas care so much about choosing... choosing who their family is, choosing who they are. They care about being helpful, yes, but they care about being good and kind at the core of who they are. And they've both had to learn that the core of who they are is a choice!! Cas rejected heaven, Jack rejected his father. But then he chose a new father, chose Castiel, who has guided him with love and compassion every step of the way. And they've both made mistakes and both hurt others in their choices but at the end of the day they keep choosing to be each other's family!!

anyways I’m thinking a lot about these outlines from 14x01 and 2 and all the things they do for Jack’s characterization
