The other day I spent like 2 hours in a rabbit hole of some description pertaining to kirara manga and anime, and to that end I started reading Slow Start. This early on my only real thought is "wow the anime elevated this material" but hey chapters are short and I am already previously endeared to these characters by way of the anime, so all is well.

My entry: "An unforgettable month of grace and grit." - Aressida. 13.9.24.

It is been a month since my fiancé’s heart stopped, and by God’s grace, he was brought back to life. That day is still so vivid in my mind, watching him there, intubated, teetering on the edge of life and death. Time felt like it slowed, and everything was hanging by a thread. It was, without a doubt, the most terrifying moment I have ever faced. But, through sheer mercy, he pulled through. That day serves as a powerful reminder of just how fragile and precious life really is.

As if that was not enough, several other family members were in the hospital around the same time. It felt like we were being tested all at once. But, by God’s grace, we are all back home now and safe. Mum only just got home a few days ago, and since then, it is been non-stop. I have been cleaning, getting the house back in order, and even handling the house inspection. It is been a whirlwind, but we are finally finding some balance again. It is clear this has been a testament to both grit and grace. Grit: our unwavering determination through trials, and grace: the divine favor that’s carried us through. We have come out the other side stronger and more resilient, relying on the strength we have found in God’s promises. Through it all, we continue to fight, to persevere, and to trust in the strength that comes only from His grace.

Then on Friday the 13th, my fiancé’s birthday, a day that could have been filled with mourning, but instead, we get to celebrate life and second chances.

To my love, I love you with all of my heart, more than words can fully express. I am beyond grateful that you were brought back to life that day. I can still remember every second, trying to save you, doing everything I could, praying with everything in me until the paramedics took over. And you lived. By God’s grace, you came back to me and our girls, and in that moment, nothing else mattered.

I want you to remember this that every heartbeat of yours is a reminder of how fragile life can be, and how precious our time as family together is. I thank God every day for the second chance we have been given to continue this journey side by side. You mean the world to me and our girls, and we love you, always. And to the world, I am taking a much-needed break, a chance to breathe, reflect, and reset.

genuinely so proud of what ive made of my life, like every day im still improving and im working to become a better person to be around. its sososo hard but when uve fluxed between the most selfish egocentric pos and a submissive wet dormat of a person i think ur BOUND to find a median and some point in time and im floating around that area i think.

within less than 2 years ive completed my apprenticeship, been promoted to a full-time employee and am now moving to a team i feel way more passionate abt. ive got friends that i love, a boyfriend, cats, a second family, and im MAINTAINING these relationships bcos finally im like...setttled, my place here is permanent (or at least as permanent as it can be). im reading for pleasure, ive got hobbies and am starting to exercise again.

hopefully coming off the antidepressants will do good and the propranolol helps me with the anxiety of all this LOL

chris as adrien DOES NOT FIT IN ANY WAY but i just thought it was funny. i guess the only similarity is that they both have famous dads, are wealthy and have spiky hair but that's about it. crispin as gabriel would be really fun to see. giz is definitely natalie but then again that would be a bit ooc for him since natalie is a lot more mature than gizmo

and, of course, the kids are teens in this au...

edit (13.9.24): guys i'm hearing lots of spoilers from s5 of mlb and apparently GABRIEL'S DEAD??? oh well rip crispin too i guess... (nah but seriously, i need to catch up on this series i've missed too much 😭)

Did an ask quite a while ago about the amazing female villains in the Uglies series, and now the movie will actually come out on very soon (13.9.24) and the trailer is already out.

Just hope they let the focus on the toxic, jealous, subtextual homoerotic friendship between Tally, believer in the dystopian system, and Shay, who fights against it, stay. But well, it is Netflix, so likely not. Still might be worth a watch though.

Also Laverne Cox playing a dystopian super soldier leader and mad scientist, which could have bad implications if done not carefully, but also damn yeah, Laverne Cox playing a dystopian super soldier leader and mad scientist!

First completed of the season! Not a great score to go along with that title, but hey. Yeah Bye Bye Earth just sorta lost me the further and further it went along. All the proper nouns and unique concepts are cool at first but they started wearing me down really quick as more and more kept being thrown at me with less and less explanation each time. Plot gets further and further down its own little rabbit holes and it's genuinely difficult to follow because nothing is explained or even sufficiently implied such that you can figure anything out. It's a real "this would be good if..." type scenario, wherein every step in the wrong direction the show takes could be fixed pretty easily, but that's not the show we've gotten. Also I hate the character designs "omg everyone's a furry and so our human girl stands out!!" everyone is a fucking anime catgirl they all look identical she just doesn't have normal ears. What gives. Except for some of the background characters which actually are like ultra furry and committed to their species. God forbid we do that with the main characters though because that's not marketable. Adonis raping Belle would be weird if he were actually an anthro cat, you know? Only reason score is as high as a 4 is because I was having fun at first and the soundtrack is good.

Needless to say I will not be watching.
