13 of the Most Disturbing Last Words from Death Row Prisoners
Before execution, it is usually customary for condemned criminals to take the stage one last time and address the public with his or her final words. Whether it is a chilling statement aimed at shocking or upsetting those in attendance, a light-hearted statement that attempts get few chuckles or a final slap in the face of society, criminals throughout the years have had some pretty interesting things to say in the minutes prior to taking their final breath.
Here are the last words of 13 death row prisoners and the disturbing messages they chose to leave the world.
John Wayne Gacy
Last words: âKiss my ass.â
John Wayne Gacy was convicted of the rape and murder of 33 men between 1972 and his arrest in 1978. The former childrenâs party entertainer became known as the âKiller Clownâ because of the all the parties he attended in his clown suit and full-face makeup.
Gacy was executed by lethal injection just after midnight on May 10, 1994. When asked if he had any last words, Gacy is said to have snarled these three simple words.
Aileen Wuornos
Last words: âIâd just like to say Iâm sailing with the rock, and Iâll be back like Independence Day, with Jesus June 6. Like the movie, big mother ship and all, Iâll be back.â
Aileen Wuornos, abandoned by her parents at a young age was working as a prostitute and robbing people to support herself by the time she became a teenager. In 1989 and 1990, Wuornos shot, killed and robbed at least six men. Arrested and tried in 1991 she received a total of six death sentences, earning her the inaccurate label by the press of being the first female American serial killer.
George Appel
Last words: âWell, gentlemen, you are about to see a baked Appel.â
Clearly keeping his sense of humor right until the last moment, this pun was to be the final words of convicted murderer George Appel before he was executed in the electric chair in New York in 1928 for the murder of a New York City police officer.
Peter KĂźrten Â
Last words: âTell me. After my head has been chopped off, will I still be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from the stump of my neck? That would be a pleasure to end all pleasures.â
Peter KĂźrten, or more commonly known as the âThe Vampire of Dusseldorf,â is believed to have killed nearly 60 people in Germany. He beat, raped, and drank the blood of at least one of his victims. KĂźrten was executed by guillotine on July 2, 1931.
John Spenkelink Â
Last words: âCapital punishment: them without the capital get the punishment.â
John Spenkelink was a drifter convicted of killing a traveling companion which he claimed was done in self-defense. Incidentally, he was also the first man put to be put to death in Florida after the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976.
Barbara âBloody Babsâ Graham Â
Last words: âGood people are always so sure theyâre right.â
Barbara âBloody Babsâ Graham was a prostitute, drug addict and a murderess who was executed in the gas chamber at San Quentin in 1955 along with two accomplices. Graham beat an elderly woman to death when a robbery went bad. When she was strapped into the gas chamber by Joe Feretti, the man in charge of her execution, he told her, âNow take a deep breath and it wonât bother youâ to which she responded, âHow would you know?â
Gary Gilmore Â
Last words: âLetâs do it!â
Convicted of killing a motel manager, Gary Gilmoreâs was put to death in Utah on January 17, 1977, by a volunteer firing squad. He became the first person to be executed after the U.S. reinstated the death penalty in 1976, ending a 10-year lapse. Gilmore donated his organs and shortly after he was executed, two people received his corneas.
Notably, Gilmore gained further fame posthumously when advertising executive Dan Wieden credited Gilmoreâs parting words as the inspiration for Nikeâs tagline.
Carl Panzram Â
Last words: âIn my lifetime I have murdered 21 human beings, I have committed thousands of burglaries, robberies, larcenies, arsons and last but not least I have committed sodomy on more than 1,000 male human beings. For all these things, I am not in the least bit sorry.â
Carl Panzram was a serial killer, rapist, arsonist, and burglar who was hanged on September 5, 1930. Without ever showing any sign of remorse for his crimes, he refused to appeal his sentence, he even threatening to kill members of human rights groups who attempted to appeal on his behalf.
Defiant until the end, Panzram went on to tell his own executioner, âHurry it up you Hoosier bastard! I could hang a dozen men while youâre screwing around.â
Timothy McVeigh
Last words: âI am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.â
Timothy McVeigh is best known as the Oklahoma City bomber and was convicted of setting the bomb which killed 149 adults and 19 children at the federal building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 19, 1995. McVeigh had no final words before being executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001, in Indiana. Although he did leave a handwritten statement quoting the last lines of the poem called Invictus by Sir William Ernest Henley.
James French
Last words: âHowâs this for a headline? âFrench Fries.ââ
James French was the last person to be executed by electric chair under Oklahomaâs death penalty on August 10, 1966. Already in prison for life, but allegedly afraid to commit suicide, French murdered his cellmate, apparently to compel the state to execute him.
Thomas J. Grasso Â
Last words: âI did not get my spaghettiOs, I got spaghetti. I want the press to know this.â
Thomas J. Grasso was executed by lethal injection in Oklahoma for strangling an 87 year-old woman to death on Christmas Eve with her own Christmas lights, while stealing a television and $12. In the US, prisoners on death row are traditionally allowed anything they would like to eat for their last meal before they are executed. Grasso took this right very seriously. His last meal request was for two dozen steamed mussels, two dozen steamed clams (flavoured by a wedge of lemon), a double cheeseburger from Burger King, a half-dozen barbecued spare ribs, two strawberry milkshakes, one-half of a pumpkin pie with whipped cream, diced strawberries, and a 16-ounce can of SpaghettiOs with meatballs, served at room temperature.
Unfortunately for him, the length or complexity of his list seemed to confuse kitchen staff who made one crucial mistake and served him spaghetti instead of his SpaghettiOs.
Robert Alton Harris Â
Last words: âYou can be a king or a street sweeper, but everyone dances with the grim reaper.â
Robert Alton Harris was responsible for the murder of two teenage boys. In 1992, he was the first person to be executed in the state of California in decades. His last words were a misquote from the film Bill and Tedâs Bogus Journey.
Tom âBlack Jackâ Ketchum
Last words: âIâll be in hell before you start breakfast, boys. Let her rip!â
Tom âBlack Jackâ Ketchum, the infamous outlaw was finally caught after a failed train robbery. Sentenced to hang, Ketchumâs uttered these now famous words before his execution was horribly botched, and the noose cut his head clean off his body.

The Assistant: Chapter 13: Blood on White (Part 2)
Word count: 2929 (as the chapter was divided)
Summary: a dark history and an unexpected guest; where the narrative is going?
warning: Some dark stuff (adult and disturbing)
Chapter Theme: A Claim to the Throne by Max Richter :Â https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYk7hunqus8
Sometimes all it takes is moments, moments so unexpected and horrible than worst nightmares that sweep away the pride, expectations, hopes, dreams and reputation to leave dust, blood and ashes.
Within the sacred hall of the Saint-Chappelle, stood all the important persons of every European Magical Ministry, who were now looking up at the ceiling where cinematographic veil hovered over them to scream out the truth that was, until this very moment, hidden with utmost care and cruellest of efforts.
The dark murky tapestry sharpened its scenery from a hazy silhouette of a curly haired girl, whose doe-eyed innocence was laced with fear and equal amount of intelligence. She studied in blood red robes amongst much older students than her into the stony and cold halls of Durmstrang. She was portrayed in a manner in which the onlooker could see that she was never directly looked at, as if a following glance of an ever present entity followed her wherever she went. She rarely spoke until she was twelve of age; and that was the time when another feature in her character looked out at the world from the window of her eyes, like a demon caged for long.
It looked like it was the infamous Dark Arts class of Durmstrang, which put the German, Slovenian and the Bulgarian minister at high anxiousness as the French, British, Russian and Italian ministers looked at the scene with awe and disapproval. The moving shadows on the other hand continued to perform in the shadowy stage, where young Maxine was asked to perform a Crutiatus Curse. As soon as the young girl shot her first, flawless Unforgivable Curse, the softness of her eyes looked like the young cub of a predator which just tasted how the taste of blood feels in the mouth.
The sight that was hovering over her intensified upon her pre-pubescent figure; as if the onlooker could swallow that little girl upâ the quivering shape of her lips, the clammed lily neck, the contours of her budding breasts resting upon the underbust leather corset on her white shirt, and the slightly unsteady knees wrapped closely with brown tights under the black skirt. And so mesmerised was the onlooker that he found the girl after class and introduced himself as the most charming and empathetic person the little girl has ever seen. The sixteen year old Anatole Malfoy was charmed by the little girl and soon Maxine Valois came to fall in love with him.
It was no mystery to anyone in the room what Anatole Malfoyâs intentions were; Maxineâs easy innocence was soon distorted with the most perverted way possible. The scenes melted to a cold winter evening. Young Maxine was sitting in some elevated space, facing directly to the onlooker and so near to him that it felt like she was sitting on his lap. Her face lit up with joy and there was no trace of the sadistic streak in her liquid black eyes, the one the onlooker saw in the Dark Arts class. Young Maxine then bent to kiss the onlooker, and the sound and the darkness signified that the kiss was deeper than light crush. What happened afterwards was so shocking that it mortified the core of every personâs heart present in the room.
âThisâthis is...STOP this immediately, this is most heinous âwith a young girlâmost immoral...most immoralâ the Italian Foreign Minister screamed with a prominent rageful disgust and cast a reproachful eye to the French Diplomat who was standing near the front row, âSenor Valois, this is the man you formed an alliance with? I understand that it is a troubled time, but this is the most--che schifezza!â
When the mayhem broke, the obliviated brother of Anatole, Abraxas ran away from the place. It wasnât that his memory came back, but something in him that screamed that whoever or whatever was interrupting the wedding would not spare Anatole. If it can cross the entire iron-clad boundary his shrewd brother had cast, it also can break into Anatoleâs body and end his life. Therefore when Anatole tried to reach for his brother to break himself free from his spellbound state; the Memory extractor fluid immobilises the host so that until all the memory is extracted the host doesnât resist; Maxine knew that fact from the very beginning, and chose this fluid as her last resort. She was forcing herself to relive her worst memories, a punishment reserved only for the Prisoners in Azkaban.
âThe worst is yet to come, Senor...â Maxine veered her eyes towards the elderly Italian minister and spoke with a cold tone. Hrothgar Valois was standing at his own place, like a marble statue as his wife Marguerite was silently scolding him. Maxine didnât notice how, at this point Margueriteâs eyes were streaming with tears; she pitied the sons and daughters-in law who refused to come to a bastardâs wedding, they missed a great deal about the girl they hated. Newt, Tina and Theseus looked at the ceiling like some helpless devotee waiting for the wrath of god to split the sky in two; they knew what Anatole was, but they never suspected this hellish murk of a character.
The scene changed; ghostly pale mountains stood against the inky black sky. Fast footsteps sloching on the snow could be heard very easily. Three teenage boys and one early teen girl perched up on a rock, and as the onlookerâs eyes adjusted in the dark, he lit up a light that cast a greenish yellow pallor over the dead-cold snow.
âBloody hell Tolya, could we use some light now... itâs fucking dark around here--â the girl growled in a low voice, her tone raspy and hoarse, but it was clear from the light that was cast from Anatoleâs hand that she was not the same innocent girlâthere was something cigarette-like between her fingers, but the mother-of-pearl sheen that was wafting from the burning end distinguished that it was no ordinary smoke.
âShut your face MaxâI have the hand of glory, I can see everything, we donât wanna signal anyone round hereâkeep me updated on the road.â Maxine scoffed and smoked deeply, âthis is bullshit... shitâs isnât strong enough today--â she whined, while the other three laughed, âquiet!â Anatole snapped raspily, as his Hand of Glory brightened with a flicker. Signs of movement could be heard from under the cliff, one of the boys rapidly descended after looking at Anatole briefly and came up quiet soon, with his hair covered in powdery snow. After huffing the boy informed
âWizard...mudblood...â he paused for a while, âand he is loadedâ
As soon as the speech finished, Maxine briefly looked at Anatole, and with what cruel eyes. Her crooked smile towards Anatole signalled that she knew what she needed to do. She jumped off the cliff with the swiftness of wind, while the four started to run upon the rocky cliff. The Hand of Glory lit up only a little ahead, but even in the slight light, it could be seen that the powdery flakes of dead-night snow flying towards the runner with the swiftness of bullet. No footsteps could be heard, not even a breath, and after a while the view settled and light was cast down towards the deep cliff down at the deep forest.
âMaxine should be there by now... câmon let us settleâ it was no doubt who was speaking these lines.
âA lot of people in this room, including my father know where this narrative is goingâ Maxineâs calm and cold voice broke the horrified silence; âyou are currently seeing one of the infamous murders of the Black Forest. The official account states that the kill count is nearly 15, that makes three kills per head, all these done by children--â Maxine gripped the stolen wand in her hand and whipped out some of her own memories from her temple, and in that silvery blue wisp, a tinge of red lingered, ânow to add my point of view, to clarify the entire truth.â
The capture of the wizards that was roaming in the forest was a simple bait game, but what was most sinister was the predetorship of the group. After their wands were snatched and snapped they were tortured most brutally before they were looted. Anatoleâs paleâs face emerged from the dark like an infernal shape and started to whisper into Maxineâs ears.
âYou know what to do Maxine...â his voice echoed with the gravity of a bass drum into Maxineâs ears, âyou know what they areâMudbloods, born of filthy muggles for whom we, the old pureblood wizards are suffering and hiding like rats in forests and mountains... we are the better beings, we are more advanced, stronger and more intelligent than them, our soul are different and unique, and yet theyâthey rule us... do it, show them their place--â
The words, even to the onlookers felt like ammunition. A collective chill ran through everyoneâs spine as they looked how the low deep footsteps were taking Maxine towards the wizard couple. Her vision settled with an uncommon stillness as the couple begged for mercy, but their whimper turned to a heart-wrenching scream and the little girl whispered âCrucioâ
ââit is not Anatole Malfoy who should be punished; it is clear that Madame Malfoy--â
âQuiet, you fool...â a heavy scream pacified the agitated room, which could not take the scenary of a young girl torturing people to death. Theseus Scamander was trying to break free from the arm lock of his brother and Tina Goldstein, and his blood chilling scream even made Travers and British Prime Minister sheepishly look at each other.
However the memory narrative that was being displayed above had more things to say than the cruelty of five youngsters and the murderous antics of the minds laced with power-hunger and dark magic. The scene changed again. This time, fast yet subdued footsteps were rushing through dark, seldomly lit corridor; the vision confirmed it was of a young and short person and undoubtedly it was of Maxineâs. Her pants suggested that she was out of breath and equally excited for something. But the time she reached her destination, she saw the bare back of Anatoleâs, sweaty and glistening, even in the cold of Durmstrang. The hip of his trousers loose and threatening to fall off his bottom and two legs that was obviously not his own were propped at either side of his waist. Maxine could not understand was going on, especially when the other two legs were shaking like they had some kind of spasm in them. However the growl and the motions of Anatoleâs grinding looked awfully familiar. When she came at Anatoleâs side and saw how he was slapping his groin with another upskirted older girl, Maxine started to scream so loudly, that the girl ran away and Anatole frustratingly zipped his pant.
âMax... I can explain...â
âYou said when a boy and girl are in love only then they do it...â
âMax please... calm down, itâs not what you think... we were just playing a game--â
âYou said the same thing to me when I was sitting on your lap... you told me to prove that I loved you and only you... it hurt for several days, but you didnât stop... you didnât stopâI know it, you donât love me anymore...â
âMax, my sweet little honeysuckle--â
âDONâT YOU DARE TO TOUCH MEâ Maxine slapped Anatoleâs face and hexed him to walk out of the room, âI donât love you anymore... you treat me the same as everyone else, as my family, my teachers... you are THE SAME AS EVERYONE, AND I AM SICK OF ITâ
The scene whirled again and this time two people were running into the dark forest side by side. The wet sloches of setting ice and debris on the forest floor made a distinct wild sound. Although it was dark, it wasnât easy to pick out that they were Maxine and Anatole, now content with each other and kissing. They laughed in a low tone and nuzzled face with each other.
âso...â Anatole spoke, âI am so glad you forgave me, and thatâs why I got you a surprise...â and he started to step backwards a little by little with a playful smile. When the young girl was relatively distanced and the curtain of darkness and inky canopied shadowed their faces, a blue spark sent a ring of livid flames across Maxine. Her screams of betrayal covered the crackling sound of blue fire around her, and somewhere from far away a voice came towards her.
âI donât need you anymore...â
With the five words and the accompanying crackling sapphire flames, all of the cinematographic tapestry dissolved into the thin air, leaving behind the ear-deafening scream of a thirteen year old, alone and afraid in the dark forest amongst the mountains. The entire room was holding its breath until now, and when they got their airs back in their chest, uproar ensued when Anatole Malfoy, who had been immobilised, stood up firmly.
âThese are all lies... IâI had been framed... I would never associate myself with any of them... if there is anyone to blame, it is herâMaxine Valois and her father... they cheated me to marry such a criminal girlââ Anatole screamed pointlessly, and spewing other nonsense to prove his innocence, however it was too late. The British Prime Minister stepped forward with a frown on his face along with his Defence Head, Travers and their face clearly spoke of their intention.
âWe all saw what happened here Mr. Malfoy, and we already know everything there was to know.â The Prime Minister said grimly, âbefore I came here, I had received a letter confirming the documents of your guiltiness, which you have shrewdly concealed from the British and French Ministry of Magicâa transcript from the Trans-Siberian Wizarding Prison under the Ministry of Russia where you have been registered under the name Vasily Malakov--â it didnât gone unnoticed that Travers glanced briefly towards Theseus and smiled shrewdly. With the lasting four hours in hand, Theseus flooed the Editor of the Daily Prophet, showing Newtâs letter from Dumbledore and tipping him off about Vasily aka Anatole Malfoy; it wasnât hard to track prison records and decode them since the transcripts may be crypted but never fully concealed because they are written with truth ink, which rejects any false information. Travers knew from the beginning that Theseus was behind this and felt annoyed, but after the grand confession, he certainly felt proud.
ââas you have already served your sentence, legally you cannot be imprisoned for the same reason again, but from now you are discharged from your office and banned from joining British Ministry. Your interrogation on falsifying accounts will be held on a tentative timeâScamander!â
The voice signalled that the minister looked for Theseus, he spared no disapproving glance towards Theseus for breaking the prison, or perhaps he chose not to prioritise the fact for now, âsince you are the only Auror present here... I order you to apprehend--â
Before the British minister could finish his words, a jet of emerald green light hit Anatoleâs chest square and pushed him at the bottom of the altar unconscious. His icy blue eyes now glassy and aghast and the disturbed anxiety that plagued his face froze like he was trapped into a forever surprised state. The crudeness and feudal pride softened into a mild wonder as his fixed eyes looked at the ceiling towards the heavenly paintings.
Newt rushed over and pushed the cuff off his wrist; it was the first physical action he did after the shocking revelations, as others stood like statues, as if the aura of the green light petrified them along with Malfoy. The fleeting human warmth and the complete stillness of his pulse meant the obvious thing.
âHeâs dead... Anatoleâs dead, someone hit him with a killing curse--â Newt admitted hoarsely and along with everyone looked at the direction from where the killing curse was hit. A figure could be distinguished from the rows of people, undoubtedly a woman, now coming forward with her low heels clicking on the marble floor. Her footsteps paved her way in the jumble of important wedding guests, as everyone looked at the incognito figure, dressed austerely and rather oddly. She dressed peculiarly for a winter wedding, in springlike Cornflower blue; her face covered with a translucent veil and secured with a small hat. With her appearance, the colour from Hrothgarâs face drained and he grabbed Margueriteâs shoulder so that he wouldnât fall down on the floor. When she was three feet apart from the main parties, she gently lift her face covering, and the sight of her face felt like a crack of thunder inside the cold and bright church.
âIt canât be...â Newt gasped at the sight of the woman; he knew him briefly but very well, it was approximately a month ago when she stepped inside his doors in a cold evening for the interview of his assistant post, it was the same neat blond ringlets, the wide blue eyes, soft features and thin lips but the skin was more wrinkled and the softness of her eyes seemed unable to hold the amount of cruelty that her dilated pupils stored in the depth of her soul.
âMum...â Maxine whimpered in the tears of joy, âis that you?â

So thatâs Maxineâs entire backstory revealed. But (un)fortunately this is not the final chapter. The story is still yet to finish.Â
I was greatly inspired by the concept of Wizardâs Chess when I wrote the Blood On White parts, and I dropped some imagery of Chess in âThe Truth Must Perishâ. I really enjoyed writing Anatoleâs death. He was an ignoble character who died like an insect. It was hard for me to write Maxineâs backstory and to include something shameful, trust me, I hated writing it.

Sometimes maybe the video does arrive after all.
Was Andrew aware? Did he ask no questions? Epstein had just been released from a prison sentence for abuse, after all.
EXCLUSIVE: Prince Andrew is pictured inside paedophile Jeffrey Epstein's ÂŁ63million mansion of depravity nine years ago... so how did he miss signs of the billionaire's sexual deviance?
By Caroline Graham In Los Angeles | Sunday21:00 17 Aug 2019, updated 00:22 19 Aug 2019 | Daily Mail | Posted August 19, 2019 9:14AM ET
Duke was spotted peering around the door of the billionaire's Manhattan home on December 6, 2010Â
The footage of the Duke was taken less than an hour after Epstein left the house with a young blonde womanÂ
Epstein's alleged 'sex slave' Virginia Roberts claims she had sex with the Prince at financier's New York home
Buckingham Palace has denied any wrongdoing on Duke's part and the Queen has showed him her support
Standing by the towering 15ft-high solid oak front door, Prince Andrew gives a nod and a cheery wave to the pretty brunette as she leaves the ÂŁ63 million Manhattan mansion.
He appears entirely at ease but then, for a split second, glances around the door as if to check that no one had witnessed the brief encounter.
As well he might.
For these exclusive pictures come from a never-before-seen video of the Duke of York staying at the New York home of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. And some of the other images caught on camera make for disturbing viewing.
The footage of the Duke of York â then the UK's Special Representative for International Trade â was taken less than an hour after Epstein, who had been convicted of sex with a child in 2008, left the house in the company of a young, shivering blonde woman.
The video was shot on December 6, 2010, during a visit by the Prince to Epstein's nine-storey 21,000 square foot mansion dubbed the 'House of Horrors' by many of his young victims.
By then Epstein â who took his own life last weekend â was on a child sex offender register, yet one observer told The Mail on Sunday that several of the women leaving and entering the home while Andrew was apparently inside 'looked very young indeed'.
The Duke has vehemently denied claims by Epstein's alleged 'sex slave' Virginia Roberts that she had sex with the Prince on three occasions, the first when she was 17 and once at the US millionaire's now-notorious 40-room mansion at 9 East 71st Street in Manhattan, the setting of these pictures.
Her allegations, submitted to a court in 2014, were later thrown out by a judge who ordered them to be struck from the record as 'immaterial and impertinent'.
Since Epstein's suicide last weekend as he faced further child sex trafficking charges, Buckingham Palace has repeated its denial of wrongdoing by the Prince.
'Any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue. It is emphatically denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts,' it said.
Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.'
The Queen also made a public show of support by allowing Prince Andrew to sit next to her as they were driven to a church service near Balmoral last Sunday.
However, these images are sure to raise fresh questions about the 59-year-old's judgment as they place him inside the private, inner sanctum of Epstein, who continued to abuse young girls even after a controversial 2008 plea deal that saw him serve just 13 months, much of it on day release.
'The Prince looked entirely at ease in Epstein's house,' a source told The Mail on Sunday last night.Â
'There were girls coming and going. One, who came out of the house with Epstein about an hour before Prince Andrew said goodbye to the brunette, was tiny and shivering.
'It was a particularly cold New York December day. What I remember most is the constant procession of girls and women going to and from the house.
'It was chilling to see. Everyone knew by that point that Epstein was a convicted paedophile, yet he was flaunting his lifestyle in plain sight.
'When the Prince came to the door I was stunned. He looked totally at ease. He said a few words to the girl, who was very pretty, and then she walked off down the street in the direction of Central Park.
'If I hadn't known it was Prince Andrew, I would have thought he owned the place. He looked so comfortable and relaxed as he stood there at the door.
'He didn't appear to have a concern in the world as he smiled and waved goodbye to the girl.
'It was only as the girl walked off that he glanced around the door frame, almost as if to check no one was watching.'
The video was taken less than 24 hours after the Prince was infamously photographed walking through Central Park with Epstein.
He had met the US businessman through Ghislaine Maxwell, the daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell and a woman the FBI says is now of 'renewed interest' in its ongoing case into allegations made by scores of women that they were sexually abused by Epstein and his wealthy friends at homes in London, New Mexico, New York and the US Virgin Islands.
Ms Maxwell has repeatedly denied that she acted as a 'madam' for Epstein and has described Ms Roberts's claims as 'malicious lies'.
Epstein's New York home was as weird and twisted as the man himself. The entry foyer where Prince Andrew stood to wave off the brunette was decorated, according to an account by writer Vicky Ward in Vanity Fair magazine, with 'row upon row' of individually framed artificial eyeballs â imported from England.
The video footage shows the initials 'JE' in raised brass letters on the wall next to the front door.Â
What is not seen is the heating element that Epstein had installed beneath the concrete pavement to melt the New York winter snow.
On a wall in the hall was a bizarre portrait of former US President Bill Clinton in red heels and the infamous stained blue dress worn by Monica Lewinsky when she performed a sex act on him.
Nearby hung a giant painting of Epstein inside a prison surrounded by barbed wire and gun-toting guards.Â
The disgraced financier reportedly said the artwork was 'to remind me that I could go back to prison any time'.
A chandelier had a 'life-size female doll hanging from it, and one woman who claims to have been assaulted by Epstein said a bathroom had prosthetic breasts on the wall 'so he could play with the nipples as he took a bath'.Â
Dozens of photographs of Epstein with his famous friends, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and filmmaker Woody Allen, were on display in his study beside a life-size stuffed tiger and a stuffed grey poodle.
One can only wonder how Andrew missed the procession of women or the signs of Epstein's sexual deviance.
Indeed, Epstein's 'pride and joy' was a large 'human chessboard' at the bottom of the main staircase which had customised figurines modelled on his female 'staff members wearing suggestive clothing'.
Then there was the life-size statue of a naked African warrior. Not to mention the 'leather room'.
When the FBI raided the house after Epstein was arrested last month, it reportedly found 'thousands' of indecent images of under-age women on computer hard drives locked in his office safe.
Others have claimed that Epstein had photographs and videos of his famous friends 'engaged in sex acts' which have now been seized by the FBI â prompting conspiracy theories that Epstein was murdered despite official autopsy results released on Friday stating definitively that the cause of death was suicide.
The video obtained by The Mail on Sunday is particularly shocking for the fact that â even two years after his 2008 child sex conviction â Epstein was seemingly flaunting his penchant for young women in plain view and in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world.
The footage begins just before 2.30pm on December 6, 2010, as two security men leave Epstein's mansion and chat to another security man in a waiting Chrysler.
Epstein's black Bentley arrives in the street about 20 minutes later, shortly before a delivery man from Le Gourmet delivers a parcel.
Shortly after 3.10pm, an unidentified young woman in a red 'beanie' hat leaves the house. She heads in the direction of East 66th Street, where Epstein owned a flat and where, according to some alleged victims, he 'kept' young Eastern European girls as virtual prisoners.
About 25 minutes later, an older, professional-looking woman with blonde hair leaves the house.
One minute later, at 3.35pm, Epstein, wearing a thick white fur-lined winter coat, leaves his property, followed by a young-looking girl dressed in a flimsy grey top. She appears to be carrying his glasses.
In a deeply troubling scene, the blonde-haired woman â who barely reaches Epstein's shoulders â appears cold and shaking as she walks with the millionaire to his Bentley.
Epstein clambers into the back seat as the young woman stands on the street, seemingly being given instructions. An older passer-by glances at the incongruous-looking couple.
After around two minutes, the girl jogs back to the house when she stands on the front step and presses the doorbell, visibly shaking with cold.
It is opened by a professional-looking brunette woman closely resembling Sarah Kellen, Epstein's former assistant whom several alleged victims have dubbed a 'co-conspirator' in Epstein's crimes.
Kellen, who is now married to a US race-car driver called Brian Vickers, has never commented publicly about the Epstein case.
However, she appeared in court during a defamation suit brought by Ms Roberts against Ms Maxwell and 'pleaded the Fifth' when asked about her role in Epstein's sex trafficking scheme.
In America, invoking the Fifth Amendment is a legal term which means you do not have to give evidence that might incriminate you.
At 4.30pm, the door opens and a pretty brunette emerges. She pauses and turns back to the house where Prince Andrew can be seen at the door.
The pair chat for a few seconds before the woman walks away, leaving Andrew to glance up the street before closing the door.
Forty minutes later, as the light begins to fade, another young-looking dark-haired woman arrives at the house.
In an unpublished manuscript released in the US as part of a huge trove of documents related to a defamation suit brought by Ms Roberts against Ms Maxwell, which was subsequently settled, Ms Roberts talks about meeting Prince Andrew in Epstein's New York home.
She gives an account â supported by another alleged victim â of how the Prince sat on a sofa and posed with a Spitting Image puppet of himself.
'When Andrew cupped my breast with a doll made in his image I only giggled away,' she wrote in the book, described in court documents as a 'fictionalised' account of her life.
Last night, the source of the video said they had decided to go public with the footage to encourage further victims to come forward.
'I'm haunted by the shivering young girl who was with Epstein. What became of her?' asked the source. 'Now I'm reading everything that went on inside and know the full horrors of what went on, I'm wondering, was she a victim too?'
This weekend, Prince Andrew was relaxing in the sunshine in Spain on a holiday with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
The source said: 'When the video was taken he looked like a man without a care in the world.
'You have to wonder if that's still the case.'
So many disturbing questions. Itâs time Andrew answered themâŚRoyal Author ANGELA LEVIN on how the Prince MUST disclose everything he knows about Jeffrey Epstein
BY ANGELA LEVIN FOR THE MAIL ON SUNDAY
The last time we saw Prince Andrew, he was stepping off a flight to Malaga in the company of his former wife Sarah Ferguson before taking a limousine to the luxury resort of Sotogrande.Â
Business as usual, in other words.
Andrew will be glad of the chance to get away from it all, no doubt, as friends say he has been unusually stressed of late âand no wonder.
For the 59-year-old is once again in the spotlight over his close friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.Â
Only days before Epsteinâs prison suicide, a number of legal documents had been unsealed by the US courts and one of these included lurid allegations about Prince Andrewâs conduct with a 17-year-old girl â something he has always denied.
Last week, his lawyers repeated the same brief formula they have stuck to all along: âIt is emphatically denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.â
No doubt they are correct. Yet hiding behind lawyers is no longer enough for Prince Andrew, a father of two daughters and a man who holds a pivotal place in British national life.
Day by day, the evidence of Epsteinâs nauseating crimes mounts up â and the true extent of Andrewâs friendship with Epstein grows ever clearer.
The shocking video evidence in todayâs Mail on Sunday makes it all-too-plain the Prince remained on friendly terms with Epstein even when it was obvious just what sort of man he was.Â
This was no brief acquaintance.
They had known each other for some time, ever since Epsteinâs former lover and alleged fixer Ghislaine Maxwell introduced them in the 1990s.
The Prince became a regular guest at Epsteinâs celebrity-filled dinner parties in Manhattan and, as their friendship grew, the invitations were returned.
In June 2000, Epstein and Ghislaine attended the Dance of the Decades, a spectacular party at Windsor Castle hosted by the Queen to mark Andrewâs 40th, Princess Anneâs 50th, Princess Margaretâs 70th and Prince Williamâs 18th birthdays.
In the autumn of that year, Andrew flew to New York and attended a Halloween âhookers and bondageâ party in Manhattan, where Ghislaine dressed as a prostitute.
In December of the same year, Andrew threw a birthday bash for Ghislaine at Sandringham, which Epstein attended before all three went to Phuket in Thailand, to celebrate the New Year.
Andrew was snapped sunbathing on a yacht with topless young women.
The criminal nature of Epsteinâs interest in very young women became clear when this newspaper revealed the shocking case of Virginia Roberts, who says she had been recruited to work as a 15-year-old masseuse for Epstein and had been treated as the billionaireâs âsex slaveâ.
There is an infamous photograph from early 2001, believed to have been taken in Ghislaineâs Belgravia home, which shows Andrew with his arm around the bare midriff of Ms Roberts, while Ghislaine is grinning in the background.
It is all the more worrying, then, that Ms Roberts â who is now a mother of three living in Australia â claims she witnessed Epstein having sex with underage girls on a daily basis.
Still worse, Ms Roberts has alleged Epstein âforcedâ her to have sex with Andrew in London and on two other occasions when she was 17.
There has been no claim that Andrew was aware she had been acting under duress â and in any case he denies that any such incidents happened at all.Â
It is important to stress also that an American judge threw out the allegations against the Prince and ordered them to be struck from the record as âimmaterial and impertinentâ.
In another of the witness statements now open to the public, alleged Epstein victim Johanna Sjoberg claims Andrew touched her breast while sitting on a couch at Epsteinâs New York apartment in 2001.
The Prince continues to vehemently deny all such claims, but what is beyond doubt is that shortly after Epstein was released from jail for child sex offences, his old friend came to stay.
A now familiar photo of the pair strolling through Central Park showed a level of misjudgment which we simply would never expect from our Royals.
The MoSâs exclusive clip of Andrew grinning as he waves goodbye to an unidentified brunette from behind Epsteinâs oak door underlines just how close the pair were.
In the minutes before Andrew appears at the door, women are seen coming and going from the mansion â many of them questionably young in appearance.
Was Andrew aware? Did he ask no questions? Epstein had just been released from a prison sentence for abuse, after all.
It has been reported Epstein paraded his sexual perversions in his homes with naked photos of young girls and soaps in the shape of male and female genitals. Did Andrew see any of this? If so, why did he continue the friendship?
It is clear there are serious questions that need answers â and itâs high time we heard them. The Duke of York is not an ordinary citizen, but a senior Royal and father to two grown-up Princesses.
He was made Britainâs special trade representative on his retirement from the Royal Navy, a post he still held in 2011 when the MoS first exposed his friend. Andrew remains Commander and honorary Vice Admiral of the Royal Navy.
These enormous privileges bring great responsibility â but they donât seem to have had much effect on his social behaviour.
Instead he has garnered a reputation for a self-indulgent lifestyle that includes meetings with unsavoury Middle Eastern tyrants and potentates. He seems to lack self-awareness and appears unconcerned that his actions risk grave damage to the Royal Family.
Sarah Ferguson has said: âWe really believe in being good parents for our girls. In our every day [life], we really respect each other and honour each other.â
Yet her former husband seems unable to see any disconnect between standing proudly in morning dress for the wedding of his daughter Eugenie last October and the seedy friendship with a criminal abuser he would rather not discuss.
Why has he got such a high-handed and reckless attitude?
His childhood might help explain. Born in 1960, Andrew quickly became an adored second son, one who the Queen hoped would stabilise her marriage. It was said at the time Philip felt constrained by Royal life and that the relationship was tense.
But Andrewâs arrival did the trick. It also tied in with the Queenâs wish to be a more involved mother. She even wrote to her cousin Lady Mary Cambridge: âThe baby is adorable. All in all, heâs going to be terribly spoilt by all of us Iâm sure.â
Perhaps this was a sort of compensation for her earlier strictness with Charles. But the result has been unfortunate: Andrew behaves as though he is free to do exactly as he chooses.Â
Does he not know how shocking his friendship with Epstein appears? It is time for the Duke of York to accept the serious misjudgment he has made and co-operate with authorities to disclose everything he knows about Epsteinâs lifestyle and actions.
Has he contacted the police in Britain or America to try to help shed light on what by any standards was a horrific series of crimes committed by his former friend? Itâs impossible to know because Buckingham Palace refuses to say.
But if he hasnât, he should. The alternative is to try yet again to bury it in soft sand, to hide away and, like a coward, hope his 93-year-old mother will make things better.

Peter KĂźrten
Last words: âTell me. After my head has been chopped off, will I still be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from the stump of my neck? That would be a pleasure to end all pleasures.â
Peter KĂźrten, or more commonly known as the âThe Vampire of Dusseldorf,â is believed to have killed nearly 60 people in Germany. He beat, raped, and drank the blood of at least one of his victims. KĂźrten was executed by guillotine on July 2, 1931.
John Spenkelink
Last words: âCapital punishment: them without the capital get the punishment.â
John Spenkelink was a drifter convicted of killing a traveling companion which he claimed was done in self-defense. Incidentally, he was also the first man put to be put to death in Florida after the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976.
Barbara âBloody Babsâ Graham
Last words: âGood people are always so sure theyâre right.â
Barbara âBloody Babsâ Graham was a prostitute, drug addict and a murderess who was executed in the gas chamber at San Quentin in 1955 along with two accomplices. Graham beat an elderly woman to death when a robbery went bad. When she was strapped into the gas chamber by Joe Feretti, the man in charge of her execution, he told her, âNow take a deep breath and it wonât bother youâ to which she responded, âHow would you know?â
Gary Gilmore
Last words: âLetâs do it!â
Convicted of killing a motel manager, Gary Gilmoreâs was put to death in Utah on January 17, 1977, by a volunteer firing squad. He became the first person to be executed after the U.S. reinstated the death penalty in 1976, ending a 10-year lapse. Gilmore donated his organs and shortly after he was executed, two people received his corneas.
Notably, Gilmore gained further fame posthumously when advertising executive Dan Wieden credited Gilmoreâs parting words as the inspiration for Nikeâs tagline.
Carl Panzram
Thomas J. Grasso
Robert Alton Harris
