Not that I know of...

2. When was the last time you cried?

Ummm I’m not sure, but I was probably crying over fiction. Or a random stupid, sappy commercial.

3. Do you have kids?

Yes

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Not as much as I would if I was braver. 

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Uhhhhmmmmm hair color maybe?

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings! I don’t mind a movie being a little scary, but I hate movies where scary is the point. 

8. Any special talents?

Inability to say ‘no’ when asked to help with something?

9. Where were you born?

USA :)

10. What are your hobbies?

Reading and writing fiction (fanfic & orig fic), crochet, running a youth group, growing plants, sewing/quilting, ... 

11. Have you any pets?

Cats and a tortoise. Hot tip from someone unable to say no: do strongly consider say ‘no’ to tortoisies.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

As a child I played many sports and always badly. Basketball, baseball, soccer (so much soccer), plus ballet, tap dance, modern dance, color guard, and (very, very briefly because I really hated nose plugs) synchronized swimming. 

13. How tall are you?

5′5″ -- thoroughly average

14. Favorite subject in school?

History. Credit for me ending up as a double istory major definitely goes to my middle school history teacher (same teacher 3 years in a row). 😂

15. Dream job?

I already have it. I love what I do, I generally like the company I do it for, I’m paid fairly and treated well, and my direct manager is the best boss I’ve ever worked for. For a person who scored two degrees in history in college, I’ve made out like a bandit as far as careers. 👍👍👍👍 (Fun fact, I didn’t know the job I now do was a job people do until I was 30ish.)

I mean, I love the idea of being a novelist, but everything about the publishing industry seems designed to grind down writers, so all in all I’d probably be less happy as a novelist than I’d like to dream.

🌳 Tree: What is one thing in your future you are looking foward towards?  I've been worrying about the future lately and being afraid of what may or may not happen, as I'm sure lots of people have, but I'm looking forward to just being happy and finding out what all is in store for me! Please have patience with allies who don’t know all the queer terminology but are trying.

There are a LOT of acronyms and new terms. Especially for people who aren’t immersed in the community.

Someone not knowing a term/acronym doesn’t immediately translate to hate or purposeful ignorance.

So now I have pianos on the brain.

And naturally that means fic ideas.

I want Stiles using piano as a way to cope with his ADHD. It gives him an outlet to focus and keep his fingers busy when he’s feeling panicky or like things are just too much. Maybe it was something he shared with his mom.

Don’t get me wrong: I am SOOOOO HAPPY that there is a ton of teen media out there full of coming out stories.

In no way am I saying I don’t want them around.

But what I would ALSO like is some fun lighthearted stuff about coming out/sexual awakenings later in life.

It seems like all the coming out stories full of older people are all super dramatic and/or sad. But figuring out your sexuality late in life is a real thing sometimes… and I would like more of that content.

Life is alright, uni is keeping me busy. I've started bouldering! I'm very new to it but it's really fun!

71. Ironic

“You know this is kinda ironic, right? Every single time -- Jack gimme your phone.” The timbre of his words inched higher as he sarcastically parroted his partner’s infamous phrase, then fell into his Texan drawl that emerged when stressed. “And now we’re stuck because you needed my damn phone for somethin’ else and can’t call nobody.”

Jack tossed the now-useless brick to the dirt floor of the abandoned barn, unable to hide his mounting frustration. 

They were at least 10 klicks from the gravel road they’d abandoned the rust bucket of a vehicle Mac had hotwired. Their signal boosted comms fried. He had only two bullets left -- one in the chamber, the other remaining in the clip with three perps outside. Mac sat propped against an old tractor tire with a bullet in his gut. And they had no phone. How did it always go sideways?

“S-sorry.” Mac gasped out. 

Jack’s focus snapped back from his racing thoughts. 

He turned around and crossed the small distance between them without thinking. Crouching down, he gently cupped the back Mac’s wobbly neck. “Hoss, I ain’t really mad at you. We--we’ll figure out something.” 

He ducked his head to catch the kid’s eye and to make sure he’d heard him. The glassy pain radiated in Mac’s brilliant blue irises jolted through Jack’s body. Breaking their tenuous connection, he closed his eyes. He took a deep breath, then mentally opened himself up, determined to bear whatever pain Mac was willing or able to give him. Mac’s pain was his own as it always was and would always be. Jack opened his eyes, re-establishing their link and met the haze and agony head on. “I got you.” He repeated the promise as Mac’s eyes lost focus and began staring off at a point only the kid saw. 

Looking down Jack’s dread grew as he saw the pooling blood beneath Mac. Whatever the new plan was, they needed it now.

63. Twitch

Awareness hit Mac like a freight train. From the pain spiking from his head down his spine to the bright lights and the heaviness of the chains wrapping his chest to the squeezing pressure at his hand. He jolted upward, his back connecting with the slats of the chair. 

“Easy, Hoss. Need ya to stay real still, okay?” Jack’s voice floated in his ears and through his aching head. 

His vision went in and out of focus. Mac didn’t see any partner-shaped-blobs through the blur.  “Jack?”

“I’m here. Back at your 7.” 

Mac twisted in an effort to get eyes on Jack. 

“Hey! Stop.” Jack’s order reverberated through the blank space where his brain used to be. 

His lips struggled to help shape words. “Wh- happ’d?” 

“The Ghost got the jump on us. We’re the bomb...or bombs. The bastard has us both rigged to explode. You so much as twitch your finger on that dead man’s switch and we’re both gone.” 

The chains. The squeezing pressure at his hand. MacGyver was the explosive device.

📚 If your OC was given some kind of forbidden knowledge, what would they do with it? Would they tell anyone? Use it for evil or good? How would it change their outlook on life, if at all?

Technically Alex does have info on the diplomat that fucked him and his original team over, though he doesn’t have physical proof that he could take to anyone. A lot of his off time is spent trying to find something he can use against the bastard and finally get some sort of justice for his friends. He’s a little obsessive with it.

He’d never use any sort of info against any of his friends unless he thought there was some sort of legitimate danger they could be in from not telling anybody.
