#12DaysOfCosplay! Day Twelve: The Fifth Doctor Well, of course I had to pick my proudest cosplay achievement for the final day, didn’t I? I LOVE the Fifth Doctor, he is without a doubt one of my all time favourite incarnations. He’s charming, gentle and rather handsome, and prefers to use his wits rather than weaponry when settling debates. He can also play a wicked game of cricket, and is a tea-drinker - how incredibly British indeed! But while he seems like a little puppy with his indecisive nature, he can be a tough cookie when he wants to be. In the end, he shows incredible selflessness, sacrificing himself to save his companion, Peri. I’ve always been a fan of his costume, but was unsure about how to achieve the look. I had no idea how to make trousers, so I ended up making a skirt instead! Nearly every element has had some alteration - the cricket jumper pattern was woven in, the coat fabric painted, the shirt collars were embroidered... I put a lot of time and love into it, and I’m so proud of it! It just shows how far I’ve come as a cosplayer, especially from a crafty point of view, and this has shown me that when you put your mind to it, nothing is impossible! On the second day of Christmas, the holidays gave to me; A lonely Lorule princess awaiting the return of her Ravio. I know a lot of these designs are simple, and ill admit closet built. But i promise that my final one revealed will make up for the closety goodness. I wanted to do something for my favorite video game franchise. Unfortunately my Dark Zelda wig is in shambles and i dont have a (Normal) Zelda wig just yet. So i thought i'd give Hilda some love. I had a bit of fun playing around in Scythes Ravio accessories. #12DaysOfCosplay! Day Four: Adric This is one of the COMFIEST cosplays in my wardrobe. I can even do the splits in my Adric outfit! This year, the cosplay went through some MASSIVE changes, including a new star badge, different boots and an updated shirt. Now, I know that many Whovians are not fans of Adric, some saying he’s whiny and annoying and a pain in the butt, but I came to LOVE Adric. See, Adric reminds me a lot of my own teenage self; trying to find a place in the world and trying to make sense of it. He was seen as annoying, whiny, obnoxious and irritating, but I laughed at his outbursts and understood his desires to be heard by the Doctor and his fellow companions when at times he was overlooked. His preference of food over dancing in particular made me laugh! But Adric taught me an important life lesson; to not be ashamed of the person I used to be. Because as a teen, I was often told I was annoying and whiny, and yet I despised my teen self. Yet I loved Adric as a character... that didn’t make sense! Plus, fun fact, his death in Earthshock was the first time I ever cried at Classic Who, and now I can’t watch that episode without a tear being shed. 🌟💙✨ https://www.instagram.com/p/B501olSF5I-/?igshid=14srcnoexvc3r

#12DaysOfCosplay! Day Eleven: Sam Winchester Sam was the first Supernatural character I fell in love with. Maybe it’s because of the fact that he’s a younger sibling and, as a younger sibling myself, I could relate to his mindset. Maybe it’s because he is so selfless and when the going gets tough, he gets tougher and keeps fighting on. Maybe it’s because of his fabulous hair. Maybe it’s because of his ability to be an incredible friend and ally to many, with a heart of gold. But Sam remains one of my favourite characters of all time. So it made sense to add him to the cosplay collection, and it wasn’t difficult at all! I already had the jeans in my wardrobe and my brother had given me the plaid shirt - since then, I’ve got rather the collection of plaid shirts! One of my favourite memories as Sam is my penultimate day at college. Me and two of my dearest college friends, Tori and Julia, rocked up to college in cosplay, with Tori as Dean and Julia as Castiel. We had so much fun and spent the whole time laughing and having fun! And to me, that is what cosplaying is all about. Sam taught me an important life lesson: to always keep fighting, no matter what life throws at you.
