Getting hurt emotionally is worse than physically. It will always be worse. When you have a physical pain, it will end. Emotional pain can scar you for life. It can destroy you. It can cause extra baggage that you carry on your shoulders every single day. Lies, cheating, trust issues. Failed friendships or relationships, abuse, it all hurts. You put all of your trust into somebody only for them to crumble it. Only for them to step on your neck and make you look like a fool.

Every time I get lied to, it hurts less. I cry less. My tears dry faster and my heart doesn’t hurt as much as it used to. I used to cry into my pillow every time I would get disappointed. I would put people higher than they deserve and then wonder why I kept getting let down. That doesn’t happen anymore. It doesn’t hurt as bad when I get let down. It doesn’t hurt as bad when my trust gets betrayed. Is this healing? Or is this being numb? I have had so many experiences that I shouldn’t have had. I have been through some traumatic times, in life...in relationships. Things hurt me very easily. I am an emotional person, so why is this getting easier? Why is this hurting less? Have I come to the realization that nobody will treat me the way that I deserve? I am a rare person. I will never do a person dirty no matter how many times they have destroyed me. I am incapable of hurting another because I know how fucked up emotional pain makes you. Humans will do things without an ounce of consideration of how it makes anybody else feel. It doesn’t matter how much you mean to somebody, selfishness always rules. Finding somebody who puts you first is rare. I think that’s my problem, I always see the best in everybody. I see everybody as pure gold. It’s a blessing...or maybe a curse in disguise. Maybe I’m becoming stronger.. Or maybe I am just caring less. I’m not sure which and that is absolutely terrifying. I don’t want to be numb.
