Dan Feng as a High Elder doesn’t always have the time to really see you. Sure when he first adopted you he did spend a good chunk of his time with you but eventually his duties caught up.

He appointed someone to look after you. Someone that you knew and that he knew. Someone trustworthy.

So when he came back to his home early one day, the house dead silent. He grew worried. He called out to the person, to you. But there was no response.

He walked to your room, perhaps the both of you fell asleep. Wouldn’t be the first time.

But all he could witness was dust covering your room. And the man no where to be seen.

He knew instantly where that dust came from, he was quick to search for him. Found him hiding thinking he could get away, unaware that Dan Feng would be home early, unaware Dan Feng would catch him.

The man he had trusted to protect you, was the same man who ended the life you should’ve continued to have.

Dan Feng was quick to throw the man in the Shackling Prison, praying to whatever Aeon that can hear him that he gets what he deserves.

He collected as much of the dust that was still in his house, the last thing that he had of you. And carefully placed them in a jar.

Many question the High Elder why he holds a jar of dust so dearly to him, and all those times he refuses to answer. Not wanting to break down in front of the other Vidyadharas.

It was only a mission, a mission he sent you and Yanqing on. He had thought there were only a few Mara struck soldiers that had to be defeated.

He had wondered why Yanqing slowly entered the Seat of Divine Foresight without you. He had wondered why Yanqing was breathing rapidly and on the verge of tears.

Jing Yuan comforted Yanqing before asking about your whereabouts. Perhaps you were getting snacks after a successful mission? Yanqing could only try to explain in a shaky voice, clearly startled and upset.

But why would he be upset? You were his adopted sibling and was usually so kind to him. You wouldn’t have done anything to hurt him?

Yanqing tried his best to explain, stuttering over his words and needing to take a few deep breaths, the General listened carefully.

…Ambush? Well…Jing Yuan supposed he made an error in that. He only thought there were a few. Wow, if you and Yanqing didn’t know about that then you could’ve been caught off guard and…

Jing Yuan quickly connected the dots, he slowly held Yanqing closer, witnessing his own sibling fall to the hands of the Mara struck then be faced with dealing with the remaining enemies…he couldn’t imagine the stress.

A ceremony was held in your honour. Your dust already gone away like the wind so your memories will follow as he sends multiple starsciff at with gifts.

But he’ll always remember, he’ll remember the regret he felt that he couldn’t do anything nor could he have seen that an ambush would occur.

He wished he could’ve done something.

Blade could’ve taken that hit. Why’d you have to take it!?

He would’ve been fine. He wouldn’t been okay, a relief would’ve washed over him even though he knew he’d survive.

So then why did you have to take the hit that was meant for him, and leave him in a state of rage?

He quickly disposed of the pests that caused your demise, before trying to check on you. But all he could do was watch as your body dusts away.

He tried his best to grab any dust he could but most went with the wind. All he could do was stand there questioning why you would do that.

He said he’d protect you. Everyone else in the Stellaron Hunters were busy so he had to take you with him when he did his part. Yet it ended with you gone.

There was a small ceremony for your disappearance from the earth. Elio as much as he may not want too, he continued sending people on missions however allowed Blade to opt out of them he could properly mourn.

Blade still wonders why you decided to save him when he would’ve been fine, he wonders if he’d be able to save you if he noticed the enemy creepy behind him.

It was just a small argument. Welt felt bad but allowed you to storm off. You’d return eventually anyways. You’d return once dinner was ready back at the express, you knew what time that was.

But you never did return did you? Welt had thought long and hard and was ready to apologise for his words yet you weren’t back yet? Did you get dinner then go to your room?

He went to check, your room was the exact same you left it.

Did…anyone see you come back? He questioned the members of the express. None have seen you.

Finally he grabbed his coat and cane and went to look for you. Went in the direction you went and searched. As he walked his foot stepped in something. Looking down confused, his eyes widened.

Golden Dust. Dust that he knew belonged to you. Dust that told him you were gone.

And he wasn’t able to tell you he was sorry.

Welt is silent as he walks back, he let the wind take your dust elsewhere. A place he hopes you’d be happy in.

He was quiet but able to tell the express what happened. Each of them holding a small funeral for you. They kept your room intact, filled with things you loved before locking it. That room will no longer be filled with warmth but will soon grow cold.

Welt drew a picture of you, keeping it safe with him. And despite how it may seem that eventually he was over your death. He could never be.

Not until he was able to apologise for the argument.

But that won’t happen anytime soon now will it?

Wait a minute... does this sound familiar? Well, that's because this is our first ever rematch round!!! That's right, it's time to revisit the very first bracket I ever did, Poorest Little Meow Meow!

The only difference with this compared to other brackets is that the previous winner (Wei Wuxian from The Untamed) can NOT be submitted again (we might have a special one off fight between him and whoever wins this one). Otherwise everyone is fair game!

There are TWO factors of what makes a Poor Little Meow Meow that I want to establish:

There must be something morally questionable about the character. I'm not going to say that they must be evil (because that's a complicated definition lol) but there needs to be some moral ambiguity on the table. They must have done something morally questionable

They needs to be pathetic and/or pitiful in some way. Emphasis on the "poor" in "poor little meow meow." Despite doing something bad, they must still be able to evoke pity or just be pathetic in some way.

If anyone was under any delusion that Donald Trump was not going to be as bonkers as he said he would be, then his announcement on Tuesday that he would slap a 25% tariff on all imports from Canada and Mexico (and deeper tariffs on China) should remove all doubt.

“Tariff” has become the economic word of the year thanks to the incoming US president.

It is no surprise that there has been a spike in Americans searching “What is a tariff?” on Google (sadly more people are asking that now, rather than before the election).

The answer is this: a tariff is essentially an import tax.

And despite what Trump might tell you, it is not paid by the country or the company that is exporting things to your country.

A 25% tariff means anyone importing things from – in this instance Canada or Mexico – to the US will now have to pay a 25% tax on the good. So, something that cost $100, now costs you $125.

If you are then selling that item or using it to build something that is then sold, that cost is of course going to be passed on to your customers.

Tariffs raise prices much like the GST raised the prices of things – and like the GST it hurts people on low and middle incomes the most.

Canadians and Mexicans will lose out as well because American importers will look to get goods from elsewhere because now those products are more expensive to buy. Maybe they will buy American-made items; more likely they’ll just import them from another country.

But the world economy is complex. A lot of what Americans import are things used by American companies to make their own products.

About 35% of what the US imports from Canada is petroleum – either refined, crude or gas – so the tariff now raises the price of that. Same for aluminium products and wood and all manner of other “input” goods.

That means the cost of overall production in America also rises.

So, not good.

And you can expect Mexico and Canada to retaliate with their own tariffs against US imports.

This would hurt the US economy because Canada and Mexico are America’s biggest export destinations:

The Mexican president is already announcing this will happen.

Welcome to a trade war – where no one really wins, because everyone just pays more for things.

Australia used to have some very high tariffs – especially for manufacturing and agriculture.

But since Gough Whitlam, who cut tariffs by 25% in 1973, the drive has been to lower them:

The big drops occurred during the 1980s and 1990s as the Hawke and Keating governments sought to make Australian industries compete with the rest of the world.

As Bob Hawke told parliament in his 1991 “Building a Competitive Australia” speech, the result of these tariffs was “inefficient industries that could not compete overseas; and higher prices for consumers and higher costs for our efficient primary producers”.

Because tariffs keep import prices high, local industries can become rather inefficient and lazy.

In the 1980s imported cars had a 57.5% tariff. It meant Australian cars could be poorly made with few features that were standard in Europe and the local companies didn’t have to worry about you buying the better made European car because they were far too expensive.

And so down came the tariffs from the 57.5% rate to 35% by 1991 and then by 2.5% a year to a 15% rate in 2000.

The impact on car prices is pretty clear:

From 1972 to 1996 car prices rose essentially in line with overall inflation. Since 1996, inflation has risen 108% while car prices have fallen 12%.

That’s the good news – cheaper cars for all!

Not so good if you had a job making one though.

The problem with tariffs is that while there are clear benefits to the economy (and society) from reducing them from very high levels to low levels, the benefits diminish with each cut.

This is pretty obvious from the improvements in productivity in the 1990s when the big cuts were made on manufacturing tariffs, and the only small improvements after then even though the smaller tariffs kept being cut:

The tariff of 15% brought cheaper, better cars onto the market, forced the local industry to improve in order to compete, and yet still gave it just enough protection to be able to compete against the massive car producers of Japan, the United States and Germany.

But the tariff cuts kept going.

The tariff on passenger motor vehicles dropped to 10% in 2005 and 5% in 2010.

And in 2008 Mitsubishi announced it would stop local production.

Government subsidies kept the industry going but Joe Hockey as treasurer ended that assistance.

And in 2013 Ford and Holden announced they would stop local production.

And then in 2014 Toyota announced it too would stop local production.

And now just 6% of all employed work is in manufacturing, compared with more than 20% in the 1970.

But Australia is not alone in this – in the 1950s about 30% of all workers in the US worked in manufacturing, now it is just 8%:

And this brings us back to Trump.

Why put tariffs on Canada and Mexico and China (and other nations including Australia) if it is just going to raise prices?

The theory is that it will bring back the factories and jobs.

Alas tariffs are a bit like a bath plug – they keep the water at a certain level but if you take it out the level goes down, and putting the plug back won’t cause the water to rise.

American manufacturing might get more work but mostly it will just take workers from other sectors that are not as protected or which get hurt more by tariffs other nations apply.

The big question though is: is this all just bluff?

Trump is great at saying he will do something, not doing it, saying he did and declaring some huge victory when nothing actually happened.

Economists and anyone who buys products imported or made from imports will be hoping this is what he intends this time.

Carry On, My Wayward Sonic. There'll Be Peace When 'Botnik's Gone. Lay Your Weary Legs to Rest. Freedom Fight No More.

Obligatory parodies aside, there comes a time when everyone has to stop and say goodbye. Sometimes it's sudden, others gradual and methodical, yet its lingering hurt remains the same. As the space year that is 2024 reaches a close, there's still time for one last super sonic spin back to 10 years ago, when Australian fans prepared to pour one out for their favourite comic book.

Farewells were equally present at the box office. After knocking Katniss Everdeen from her three week domination, eager moviegoers entered a war on which final installment of a trilogy would reign supreme. They paid tribute to the dearly departed Robin Williams and Mickey Rooney, neither of whom lived to see Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb while Christopher Lee and Ian Holm bid goodbye to in what would prove their final film roles in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

But with goodbyes came new beginnings. The final few weeks of 2014 belonged to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars when their acclaimed collaboration Uptown Funk worked its magic all the way up the charts. And if someone from the future materialised to proclaim Uptown Funk would not only be among the top 3 selling singles of all time, but remain popular enough to feature over seven years later as part of a dance sequence in the second live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie? Fans would probably reply "There's a *second* Sonic movie?!"

It can be hard to imagine there was a time the Blue Blur's big cinematic feature almost never happened. When news broke in June via The Hollywood Reporter that Sony were deep in developing such a film, fans met the news with extreme trepidation. A live-action/animated hybrid like their successful Smurfs films? The latest news being a conversation a month earlier with co-writer Van Robichaux, whom already proclaimed being a big fan of the series, announced their script was aiming for a PG-13 rating for violence. Fans openly pondered a potential dark and edgy hedgy awaited them. None of which would be found in the equally perplexing rumours of something called Sonic Runners.

So what of the local political scene? After fifteen months in the top job, that oft-quoted "honeymoon period" was well and truly over for Tony Abbott. He may have coerced voters by a grand sweep of electoral reforms including that pivotal "No cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the GST and no cuts to the ABC or SBS!" promise, but the usually complicit conservative mainstream media smelt blood, and begun the usual trick of turning against their once-adored conservative Prime Minister.

2014 saw the proverbial dominos fell. A harsh annual budget built on electoral backflips and $5 billion dollar deficit, heavy losses in the Victorian election and South Australia by-election, to say nothing of pushing unpopular policies such as deregulating university fees. "Yes, it's difficult..." Abbott (con)fronted the press a week prior. "...but step-by-step it's getting done and I think the public in the end will focus on the substance and not on the soap opera." To Abbott's credit however, he vowed to "sweat blood" in achieving constitutional recognition for Australia's Indigenous population, but not before a pre-Christmas cabinet reshuffle. Ironically said reshuffle played in the favour of conservative colleagues Scott Morrison and Peter Dutton, both of whom destined to play pivotal roles bringing Abbott's leadership, and the prospects of Indigenous recognition, to an end.

As for the increasingly cultural dead zone that was free family entertainment, Toasted TV joined the ranks of trundling over to exclusively digital channel Eleven, and on that day aired a flurry of Care Bears: Welcome to Care-A-Lot, Mia & Me, Pokemon XY, Totally Wild and Lalaloopsy repeats. Only a new adventure of Wakfu at 7:30am was there to break up the cavalcade. Channel 9's output offered little better; a whole day of repeats ranging from Digimon Fusion and Max Steel, to Winx Club, Power Rangers Megaforce and Super Megaforce, along with perennial Thunderbirds half-hour 'cliffhanger' edition of 'Brink of Disaster'. As with their competition, only a single new toon that day; the classic Yu-Gi-Oh! episode 'Unwanted Guest: Part 2', ironically once rival Ten's media darling, this and the entire fifth season were skipped, instead chosen to purchase the supposed white-hot Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

The carefree days of early morning children's entertainment were long gone, as was the Sonic fandom's critical reception landscape. Social Media had by that point permanently wired itself into its collective consciousness, making it further difficult to gauge unified reactions. Yet at least four vanguards of the message board days remained standing. Sonic Retro… didn't talk about the story, instead focused on speculating the lineup of Sonic and Mega Man's impending Worlds Unite crossover. The fine folks over at Power Rings were in a similar boat. Archie Sonic was still their bread and butter, however its remaining users had shifted more towards sharing their own sprite comics and fanfics. And as for Sonic Stadium, any reviews swiftly disappeared under a flurry of soon-to-be-deleted pages debating Sonic's status as "a Free Spirit that can't be controlled!", or whether Ian would keep his word on Shard making a comeback. It's telling when independent sites like Arcade Sushi were giving the comic more attention.

For any self-respecting Archie Sonic enthusiast still looking to dig deep into their favourite comic, Ian's very own BumbleKing Forums remained the place to be. Speaking of Ticker: poor man's been up to his ankles in medical emergencies today. There was an unexpected minor shelter collapse on the west end of the camps. No one died, but a 12-year-old Zabrak broke his arm trying to shove his little brother out of the way, and an old Quarren got hit pretty hard on the head by a chunk of debris.

Alep was looking after him, and I don't know what he did, but this Quarren apparently punched him in the teeth. That debris must have gotten him pretty hard. Ticker got the Quarren under control to finish his examination; apparently he didn't want to sedate the old man in case he was concussed. This was about five hours ago. He's looking at Alep's teeth now, to see if there was any significant damage. Poor kid, he bled all over the clinic and as soon as the Quarren and Zabrak were taken care of, Ticker roped Hotshot and Varmint into helping him re-sterilize it.

You know, they called General Venta crazy when she insisted the squad have two medics, but in hindsight I think it may have been the right call.

Oh nooo 😭😭😭😭 personally I coped with the first half of 10th by immersing myself in all my extracurricular competitions like MUN, quiz and debate and all. After that it's a 12 inch stick up your ass though, regardless of what you did till September

10th is absolutely tiring I agree 100% with you like especially the chemistry, maths, English language and literature in the beginning is SO DRY and for what. I assume you've started An Angel in Disguise, the GST chapter, periodic table and such but if you haven't then it's probably something else similar because they always start with all the dry stuff here for some reason. And when it gets interesting then it also gets heavy so !!!!! never a positive moment in class 10 !!!!

My request to you is Please Do Not Slack in the first half and them cram like anything before exams while wanting to jump off a roof, most of my friends did that and they did not enjoy, instead just keep revising and stuff. It's boring work definitely but in the end it'll ward away the suicidal thoughts before preboards and boards and you'll feel lighter then

Gir Jungle Trail is the forest department organized open Jeep Safari ride of approximately 3 hours inside the dense forest of Gir National Park. One may get chance to see Asiatic Lion, leopards, and many other wild animals, birds & rich flora and fauna of Gir forest.

Falava uns negócios que me deixaram “ué mano” que era coisa do tipo “Eu sabia que eu ia te comer” “finalmente te peguei” Sendo que eu nunca tinha visto sinal algum de interesse dele (quer dizer teve sim poko) continuando mano esse cara me empurrava na parede macetava sem do e eu já pedindo arrego, cara ele me batia na cara !!!! Isso é um absurdo eu sou branco vey minha mãe perguntou se eu tinha apanhado na rua! Eu sabia que ele era meio Bruto no sexo pq minha amg tinha me contado porém porra! Ele curti uns negócios mt lokos ele pediu pra me amarrar tipo minha mão não tinha esses lances de algema ele usou umas cordinhas mano praque ! Sofrir pra crl mas n vou entrar em detalhes dessas noite pq já tá grande aqui meu relato! Então sim eu fui um talarico e tô mal por isso mas ele não ficou mal nem um pouco pq ele mandou ft da rola no meu wppp dizendo que o pau dele tá latejando c sdds 😟
