Homura has an unhealthy obsession and attachment to madoka, one that causes her to become callous and uncaring to the rest of her supposed friends, she is absolutely fine with letting Mami walk into her death because she knows it would keep madoka from signing the contract, she is fine letting sayaka sign the contract and fall into despair, she's given up on anything that isn't her or madoka surviving, this attachment and obsession and forcing the time loops is the very thing that creates Gretchen.

Homura is absolutely an anti-hero.

always irrationally irritated when people call madohomu "toxic yuri". like i get it's Not That Deep but like. they're kids? middle schoolers who are traumatized and mentally ill. it's not abusive or whatever. it ends up sounding kind of silly when you realize this. it's like if i ran around saying my child brother was toxic and evil because he did Child Things and it annoyed me. "homura acts creepy and weird! madoka is a crybaby" "homura insults madoka sometimes" they are Traumatized Children not some sort of shitty abusers in an abusive relationship.
