shelly was just finishing her shift at the diner, and to be approached so suddenly was... strange. almost off-putting. but there was just something about the stranger, and the need in her voice. “flour and sugar?” did it LOOK like she just carried these things about? still, shelly could help and it wouldn’t do any harm. “if you give me like... two minutes i can run into the diner here and get some. not a lot, but i can get some.”

“Oi, stranger! Sorry to disturb and if I talk too much because I do talk too much and uh people tell me to shut up but is not my fall that my tongue speaks instead of my brain. But uh would you have to have a bit of flour and sugar? I’m a bakery student and have a challenge and I don’t have the amount the teacher asked me?” Ally asked looking at the other person.

The demon ran and hugged her.  Yuki is safe and well and that eases Beel.  “Yeah it is.  It was odd in the beginning but the food helps.”  Though…Beel misses home a lot.  “How do you feel being back in your world ?”  He knows this place might not be her home but he means the human world in general 

yuki was more than happy to hug him back. it felt nice to see someone who had, rather quickly, become important in her life. she was still SHOCKED to see him here - but hadn’t she also just suddenly shown up in the devildom all that time ago? a laugh escaped her as she stepped back, giving a nod. “i bet it helps~ there’s just so much food, right? all kinds. and this place-- there’s food from all over the world here.” 

she paused at his next question, but not for long. still smiling, yuki replied, “it’s nice. i miss everyone. and i miss the devildom too. i wouldn’t mind going back, but you know, it’s nice to be amongst familiar things too.”

she put out the cigarette, making sure it was truly squashed before flicking it into the little cigarette bin. shelly oughta quite smoking, and had managed to cut down her intake. it was tough though.

focusing on the person opposite her, the waitress held back a smirk and instead gave a small, but genuine smile. she figured maybe they could use a BOOST.

"yes. i think you're cute. i mean... what's not cute about you. wear your cuteness with pride~" shelly gave a little nod, and her smile grew ever so slightly. "honestly, i do mean it. and it's certainly not a bad thing to be cute."

"you've got... i dunno. something about you. like an aura, a cute, kind aura."

it seemed like it would forever be her fate to serve coffee and pie. ...though at least now she also got to make the pies now and then, but that still wasn’t exactly her DREAM JOB. 

she had left twin peaks with the hope of bigger and better things, and certainly there were bigger things all around her - the problem was that she wasn’t part of that yet. whether in twin peaks or washington, shelly was on the outskirts and looking in. at least when she was back home she had norma.... and bobby. and wasn’t that a wonder that she was thinking of twin peaks in a nostalgic way? as though through rose coloured lenses.

she shook herself out of those thoughts as someone else entered the diner. her eyes flickered to the clock on the wall, and her nose scrunched up. five minutes till the end of her shift. so she should probably go greet the guy. 

grabbing her small notepad, she sauntered over to the table - but her steps slowed on the approach. there was certainly something FAMILIAR about him. but... something not quite right as well. and, and, was he even meant to be here? 

well, hey, didn’t everyone say there’s a doppelganger for everyone? there had been so many times in her few short months in washington when she had THOUGHT she had seen someone she recognised, to find they truly weren’t who she thought they were. but it could only be him.

“black coffee and cherry pie, agent cooper?” she questioned, standing by the table and looking... looking as straight-faced as she could. trying to gauge a reaction. she was so nostalgic for anyone, and the fbi agent had never been anything but kind to her. but maybe there was some HOPE there to, hope that it was him.

how long has your character been here

shelly has been in washington for around six months. it’s strange to be so far from home, but this is also what she has ALWAYS wanted. a chance to break free and be someone else, to actually BE someone. things aren’t going entirely smoothly, but shelly is willing to put in the hard work to make her dreams come true.

what is your character's job

she might be far from twin peaks, but she’s still just a waitress. it’s frustrating, but with no discernible life skills or qualifications there’s not much else she can be. but that’s okay. she’s DAMN GOOD at what she does, and she’s getting to do some of the baking for the family run diner as well. she’s not entirely sure what job she really wants, but she’s looking around to find something she will work towards.

where has your character been pulled from in their fandom

shelly has been taken after the second season, and therefore is no longer with her abusive husband leo. 

has any magic affected your character

nope. she never had any magic to begin with, and nothing about that has changed!

shelly johnson is smart, sassy, kind, generous, and a positive person. she’s also incredibly reckless and headstrong.

but she lacks a lot of self-belief, and as much as she likes to believe in the good of people she has some trouble.

shelly is a high school drop-out, leaving school to marry her older sweetheart leo johnson. before they were married, he doted on her. but that changed after she said ‘i do’. he emotionally abused her, being controlling of money and her time as well. he physically beat her as well, though this wasn’t as often it was usually severe.

she has left this relationship long ago, and isn’t looking back. but she’s still trying to get over this abuse and all the other strange things that happened in her home town.

"uh, yeah. of course you are," kureha answered, her reply unabashed and honest. she may not have much faith in herself or think that much when it came to her own pros and cons. but she was happy to big up other people.

and this was no lie. she was cute, and sometimes it was just nice to be told that. though... was it coming across as creepy? she hoped not.

"really, you're cute. and i hope you know it." kureha was smiling now, maybe a little amused but still quite genuine. "i just-- sorry, i know that was out of the blue and i wasn't try to bug you or anything. it just seemed like maybe you needed a boost. and yeah, i think you're cute and that outfit just seems to totally work for you~"

she was... sore but relatively uninjured. yuki had withstood great dangers in her time, stared down demons twice her size, been rude to royalty. but somehow it was always the everyday things that knocked her down to size.

like that door and the stupid little bit at the bottom that stuck up. she had tripped easily and quickly, not quite head over heels, but landing on the ground with a sore crunch. it had almost brought tears to her eyes with the shock, but once she got over that she was as okay as ever.

never one to embarrass easily, she did rub her neck sheepishly as she realised he had seen her little mistake. "r-right," she said shakily, then gave a nod. "i'm okay. really. that was more embarrassing than anything else. definitely the kind of occasion where saying 'it hurt my pride' is applicable." there was a slight pause, a moment of hesitation, before her smile softened and she added, "thank you. for checking."

Belphie was very busy working to bake the cakes for the day. They had gotten a ton of orders, and it was only him today. He heard the door open and was thankful that he’d just taken his latest cake out of the oven. He loved working there, being creative and making his customer’s cake ideas come to life really made him happy. But he just wanted to sleep so badly. He was exhausted, and he really missed the naps he would get during the day. That was happening today. He sighed as he came out of his thoughts. He was shocked when the woman said his name, and then he gasped when he saw her. “Yuki? Is it seriously you?” His last memory of the devildom was being freed from the attic. He smiles at her. “It’s good to see you here. How long have you been here?” He was genuinely happy to see her. He’d gotten over his hatred of humans, especially since he’d met Jingyi. “It’s not so bad here.”

she almost couldn’t believe her eyes - to not only see belphie here, in the human realm of all places. but to see him working so hard at this time of day! regardless, the sight of him was enough to completely brighten her and fill her with joy. it had been so long since she’d seen anyone even remotely familiar. “it’s so great to see you-- i just, i can’t believe it.” there were so many QUESTIONS, about what he had been up to and how he had gotten here. but of course, yuki couldn’t really answer those questions either. instead, she settled with just being pleased for the time being to see him. 

her smile softened, genuinely warm, and she gave a little nod, “i’m glad. i suppose actually being here can make you re-evaluate a few things?” to think he was doing so well amongst humans... but hadn’t beel perhaps said he had once LOVED humans? perhaps that part of him had still been there, deep inside. she’d maybe ask him another time, but for now yuki just said, “i can’t believe of all the people i’d run into~ i’m really glad to see you doing so well. and baking~ this all looks amazing.” desserts were by far her favourite food type.

Louie was eating their ice cream happily. They had a huge bowl of it. “You know, I was not able to choose. So I just got every single flavor. How am I supposed to eat all this?” That was the thing about them having so much money, they could buy whatever they wanted. Which is what they’d done, and had regretted it. They sigh. This woman was not someone they knew, should they share with her? “They also let you try samples as well! Which is what I think I should have done.” They did have a new attitude on life. They’d been away from their family so long. When they found Dewey it changed their life. But being alone also changed their life. They learned that family was more important than treasure or money. So they sigh. “Come sit. You can share with me. I haven’t touched the ice cream yet I promise.”

when the strange voice spoke up, kureha turned quickly to try and locate the source. “samples?” she said, almost questioningly before a smile grew on her features. she sure didn’t know this fellow customer, but he made a lot of sense. “that’s a good plan!” and really, kureha was happy to just do it that way and taste test the flavours. but then her ice-cream saviour was speaking up once again. she was more startled then when he had first spoken, almost blown away by the kindness that was his offer. it was a new feeling to kureha to be treated with kindess and respect in the human realm. she had almost forgotten that strangers could be nice and generous, and was really pleased to be wrong about the fact that such helpful acts were gone. “thank you! but are you sure? you’re not like... going for a record of trying to eat the most ice-cream or something? i’d.... like to join you, if i could.” she was still trying to meet new peole and build friendships. kureha didn’t want to pass up on this opportunity.

kureha & louie

there were still days were kureha thought she still had rabbit ears. her hands would just reach up to scratch them, or pull on them in annoyance or worry, only to find nothing there. worse than that, her hands often reached out to her side to grasp at friendly hands that were no longer there. 

washington was.... tough for kureha. she was used to bouncing about from place to place, being in strange new locations and having to fend for herself. but just because she was used to it didn’t mean she liked it. slowly, the once rabbit princess was adjusting to the hustle and bustle of city life.

like this.... the ice cream parlour here was amazing. like, INCREDIBLE. “there are so many flavours. i don’t know-- how do you pick just one?”

yuki & belphie

yuki was doing her best to adjust to washington. luckily she had some experience in being dropped in a strange and alien place. yuki didn’t mind new challenges and new areas, in fact she was curious by nature and always enjoyed trying different things. living in washington was a new adventure of sorts. ....but the problem this time was her lack of companions. 

she was friendly enough and had certainly made a few new friends, but the transition had been so overwhelming that yuki was finding the whole experience a little lonely. so far most of her time in washington had been trying to find a place to live and a job. now that was kind of sorted, she was beginning to relax a bit. 

her latest ‘pet project’ was painting a mural in her room in her teeny little flat. splats and blotches of red paint covered her old hoodie, and there were a couple of spots on her arm she had missed. she had only popped into the bakery for a sweet treat - no matter where she was, desserts were always going to be her favourite thing. 

what she had not expected was to see a FAMILIAR FACE. “b-belphie? is that you? ” captain obvious over here, it surely couldn’t be anyone else...

Beel had just finished his job as a delivery person for the day.  He finds it real fun actually: Lifting heavy things, driving and hitting the horn and it was quite the work out.  Something he would do back home too when he wasn’t with his brothers or at R.A.D.  While walking back home, he heard a familiar voice.  “Yuki !  You’re here.”  Beel beamed, not afraid to give her a hug.  “I’m living in the human realm too”

she was DELIGHTED to see his familiar face, so pleased to see someone from the devildom here. she didn’t know how or why - but then she was still unsure why she was here as well, so perhaps it was best not to question these things.

yuki hurried forwards, smiling happily up at him. “it’s so good to see you! i can’t believe you’re here, i’m so happy!” it was just a nice, warm feeling to see someone she was close with. and to see them doing well. “you look good~ clearly the human realm suits you at the moment.”
