(For Alvida, Kalifa, Kureha, Vivi, Robin and Perona.)
Alvida: Alvida is a twin, or was. She and her sister joined the Marines as teenagers but her sister got killed during an at sea training exercise. While their Marine captain was sympathetic her told Alvida it was just an accident, causing her to leave the Marines due to feeling they were downplaying her loss
Kalifa: Kalifa's glasses are trifocals and she almost wasn't a CP agent because of how bad her vision is without her glasses on. To mitigate this she has a strap on her glasses keeping them on her face
Kureha: Kureha has two sons and a daughter, and seven grandchildren. She's not an active part of their lives anymore but she makes calls to them every other week to keep up to date on them
Vivi: Vivi has an incredibly sensitive sense of taste and smell, and as a child it made her look like a picky child when she refused to eat things that 'smelled wrong' usually because something was rotten when the food was being made
Robin: Robin has Dyscalculia. While she was taught to read and write in both the current era's language as well as ponglyphs she was never taught her numbers properly. As an adult she can read numbers, but tends to have a hard time figuring higher numbers out (this is why Nami reads their bounties and she goes shopping with someone else since she's not great at money)
Perona: Perona doesn't keep in contact with her mother. When Moria collected her she felt a kinship with him that she never did to her mother and as she grew up she realized that she resented her mom for keeping her from her dad for as long as she did. She knows the woman is alive and where she is, but finds it hard to contact her again.

This scene with Sanji is one of his most important moments in the series, and in my opinion also one of the most difficult passages in the manga to interpret, because to completely understand it you have to look at the manga holistically rather than this scene by itself.
The big question that needs answered is why does Oda let Zoro "win" here by having him be the sacrifice instead of Sanji. Both are equally willing and both are identified much later on as the Wings of the Pirate King, implying that they have similar importance (although vastly different roles) within the Straw Hat crew.
If we go back to Sanji's introduction on the Baratie, his big flaw was that he lacked the "spear of spirit" to pursue his dream. Since he's been a boy he's wanted to find the All Blue, but even when he had the opportunity to go after that dream he chose to stay on the Baratie out of a feeling of obligation to Zeff. Sanji put the continued existence of the restaurant over his own life, something Luffy rightfully called him out for at the time, and even at the end of the arc had to be pushed away by Zeff and the other chefs before he finally set sail for good.
On Drum, Sanji once again almost died protecting Nami and Luffy during the avalanche, resulting in a broken back that required surgury from Dr. Kureha. Luffy again calls him out (note the English translation here isn't entirely accurate, see here for a breakdown), and with his power there's a good chance Luffy could have gotten them all out of trouble without all the dramatics by Sanji.
Something similar happens on Skypiea, when Sanji puts himself in the way of Enel so that Usopp and Nami can be saved. This case is perhaps more justifiable given the extreme situation they were in, but nonetheless he was still quick to throw his life away.
Then on Enies Lobby Nami--while not criticizing his chivalry--calls out Sanji for simply not running away from Kalifa, instead just accepting that he's going to get the shit beat out of him, and possibly die.
So there's a pattern of self-destructive behavior. Sanji repeatedly puts his life on the line when he doesn't need to in order to preserve the lives and dreams of the people he loves. Even him constantly simping over Nami and Robin falls a little into this category, because if either of them told him to take a long walk off a short pier I have no doubt he'd comply. It's that same extreme willingness to sacrifice anything and everything for the people he cares for that we see in Baby 5, except Sanji was fortunate enough to not be surrounded by people that encourage these worst impulses of self-destructive behavior. As he says here in Thriller Bark, he's just the cook. Luffy can always just find someone else.
(The glory of Whole Cake Island being Sanji realizing, no, Luffy can't, and he won't).
And it is finally on WCI that get to the heart of why Sanji is like this with yet another episode of putting his own dreams and happiness aside for the sake of others, and not until Wano that we finally see him take the first steps toward asking others for help instead of passionately throwing his life away when he doesn’t need to.
When Zoro first offered his head to Kuma, the prominence of his dream was first and foremost. Notice that Sanji never mentions the All Blue. One Piece is a series that places the pursuit of one's own ambition above all else, even if that ambition is selfish. Sanji hasn't yet learned to be selfish, so Zoro knocks him out and ends up being the one to accept Luffy's pain. Sacrifice isn't sacrifice if the person doesn't value what they're giving up, and right now Sanji clearly doesn't value his own life compared to the rest of the crew.
Next chapter Oda will speak through Brook to confirm that Sanji's willingness to give himself up wasn't foolish or stupid. It's just that he's missing a piece of the puzzle, and that's not something he'll have for a long time yet.

Half asleep very very dumb one piece fic prompt where canon straw hats somehow end up in a modern AU waking up in their counterparts bodies and are so confused.
Luffy wakes up somewhere he doesn't recognize doesn't have his devil fruit powers and then runs into Sabo and Ace, while Luffy is freaking out suddenly Crocodile shows up, Luffy finding out Crocodile is his dad. Luffy is acting off and of course Sabo and Ace are in overprotective brother mode and Crocodile is in overprotective dad mode and already calling their doctor, who he has on speed dial because Sabo, Ace and Luffy are agents of chaos and it is not the first time there has been a panicked call to the doctors.
Although Kureha hasn't picked up because she's already got the freaking out call from Hiriluk who is freaking out because Chopper is freaking out because Chopper has not only woken up with his dad alive but is human, Kureha is to busy dealing with the pair of crying panicking messes to answer her phone for a while, and has a lot of missed form calls not just from Crocodile.
Mihawk is also calling haven come home to a freaking out Perona and Zoro, and for some reason Zoro is asking why Perona isn't floating. Her can only assume that a hit to the head for sparring finally got through Zoro's thick skull.
Nami and Usopp are also in major freak outs having woken up to dead parents now alive. Brook more the freak out that he is now alive as well as Yorki also being alive.
Sanji may be freaking out worst as he woke up to see all his siblings and went straight to panic attack, only to cause almost all his siblings into one as well, these Vinsmokes have been raised by Sora and Zeff after Judge got 0 custody rights in the divorce and all very VERY overprotective siblings Sanji has literally had to threaten all of them and get his mom to threaten all of them to be able to go out on a date with Zoro without at least one sibling hanging around as a shadow.
Robin and Franky have a different but still major freak out waking up together, and then proceed to freak out more when seeing missed calls from Tom and Saul.
Bonus: Sabo suggests calling Dragon to help out because he has been trying to parent trap their dad and Luffy's other dad who is like his mentor and he's been trying to get them, back together for years. Ace deeply deeply disagrees thinking their dad can do way better. Crocodile is currently 110% done still trying to call Kureha and also try and convince Luffy that no he is not made of rubber.

Becoming Monstrous: Yurikuma Arashi and transmisogyny in the school system
Content Warning: Discussion of queer/transphobia (including slurs), online and workplace harassment, grooming, systemic violence
Spoilers for Yurikuma Arashi, referenced spoilers for Puella Magi Madoka Magica
“This is the nature of systems: the moment you reject them, you are forced to realize that they’re the very ground you’re standing on.” -Ikuhara Kunihiko
Two bears are presented with a choice: will you be invisible, or will you eat humans? They look like teddy bears, and they are on trial. wo girl bears–two lesbian girls–Ginko and Lily, standing before three male judges deciding whether or not they should have the right to exist. In order to have their love approved, they declare: they will eat humans. They transform, taking on human form as they don hypersexualized bear girl outfits, and they enter the world of the school.
Yurikuma Arashi places this strange set-piece towards the middle of its first three episodes. It exemplifies the show’s style, told as it is in enigmatic parables. Ostensibly, Yurikuma is about a human girl named Kureha seeking answers about the deaths of her mother and girlfriend while getting into a love triangle involving the two bears who have infiltrated her school disguised as humans.
However, everything in Yurikuma Arashi is more symbol than literal representation, and I have often mulled over its meaning as I’ve navigated entering the teaching profession as a nonbinary Chinese person. Like the bears, I’ve often asked myself: what do I sacrifice to be allowed to exist within the school?

๑ keep safe : luffy's innate instincts (a hum of the heart) (10)
one piece x male reader
i watch the sky getting light,
as i think about those years.
as i whisper in your ear,
i'm always going to be right here.
no one's going anywhere.
『 prev 』
as chopper, the blue nose reindeer, carried the four people inside and he immediately alerted his master, dr. kureha.
he laid them all down on seperate beds, realizing that the blonde was in the least concerning condition while the one with orange hair should be tended to first. the other two were merely suffering from basic frostbite and surface level wounds — at least that’s what the first assumption was.
but when dr. kureha and chopper got to actually working on helping the four, they realized one was in more grave condition than the rest. far, far more life threatening than they thought.
“doctorine, what do we do?!”
the two had finished treating the other three, seeing as they were working together and in harmony, it was a fast process. but there was one left…that had them completely stumped.
“a blood transfusion is out of the question! we can’t operate on him unless we have spare blood bags, what do we do?!”
“we leave him be,” the woman answered easily, taking a swig of her drink.
“b-but, he won’t be competley fine until we fix-”
“there’s nothing there to fix,” doctorine answered with a shrug, “he knows that those things are there, if he wanted them fixed, he’d of done it by now. just leave him be, we’ve done everything we can to keep him stable. let his body do what the body does best when left alone: heal!”
chopper looked reluctant to leave his patient untreated, or at least by his own definition of untreated. in doctorine’s opinion, though, the man was going to be fine.
“stitch him up and put clothes back onto him! and remember, room above 87 degrees! we can’t have his heart giving out in his sleep!” doctorine proclaimed, making the reindeer sweat at the thought — both the stress of the situation and the actual temperature.
of course, the patient he has to treat has to stay in warm conditions - his natural enemy. chopper stitched up the wounds, as well as the incisions that him and dr. kureha made themselves. and after he was done treating him, he put the clothes he was wearing back on, along with extra layers of blankets.
the silver necklace he was wearing before was gently returned to [name]’s neck by chopper.
he looked at the resting boy, thoughts go back to when the four people came to their doorstep.
“hm, they climbed this?! just by their hands?” doctorine questioned, the reindeer in his smaller form nodding in confirmation. “this 5000 meter rock?! ha! they’re crazy!”
“this one has broken ribs and damage to his spine, may i operate on him?” he politely asked as he examined sanji’s chest
“of course,” doctorine replied, “but it seems that the one in the worst condition here is the girl, she’s dying,”
out of nowhere, luffy’s hand shot up out from underneath himself and he grabbed the doctor’s arm. his entire body was shaking, but his eyes held a determination to them that chopper’s never seen before.
“they’re my friends…!” chopper barely made the words out as the pirate’s words were both slurring together and shaky, “save them! save all of them!”
“i get the picture, kid, don’t worry! they’re in good hands,” doctorine replied, showing a rare, genuine side to her. “chopper get ready to begin treatment!”
then chopper woke up from his daydream and left the room to work on making a concoction for the orange haired girl.
nami was the first to wake up, then luffy, then sanji. [name] was still knocked out.
but when luffy and sanji saw how healthy, or rather improved health, nami seemed to be, their relief was shot through the roof. then luffy focused back on how hungry he was and sanji determined to please his captain, were both chasing the reindeer that was following the female doctor’s orders.
“wait,” nami said slowly, realizing that one of them was missing, “don’t tell me…”
she looked frantically at the female doctor, who waved her hand dismissively, “the other one? he’s fine…although, i’m surprised he survived that journey as well,”
“please, tell me! where is he?! what happened to him?!” nami shouted, frantic to find [name]. the man who was gently nursing her back to health the entire time, the one who was responsible for her even being in the castle as he worked tirelessly to carry her there safely.
her eyes teared up as she thought about it.
“he’s fine, i’ve told you! it’s just, he needs to rest longer than any of you,” dr. kureha said and for the first time, her voice sounded grave. as if, she was talking about something in forbidden territory.
“you swear he’s alright?” nami asked, this time her voice was shaking as she clutched the cloth of her blanket so tight her knuckles turned white.
“positive,” doctorine confirmed, watching as the orange haired girl fell into shambles at the news.
her eyes were streaming a steady course of tears as she looked up at the ceiling, crying her heart out, “thank god!!!” she shouted, pure relief washing over her.
dr. kureha smiled softly at the display of pure affection.
the first thing [name] felt when he woke up was utter heat.
his mouth was dry and he felt as if he was in a desert. it was hot!
he immediately threw off the blankets that were piled up on top of him, but that wasn’t enough relief. he opened the window, the first window he saw, and almost threw himself out.
it was so hot inside the room, but at least now he had a cold breeze to work with.
it was only then after he took in the breeze did he realize how worn out his body really was.
“shit…” he cursed as he fell to his knees and clutched his body together in a fetal position.
his entire lower arm was sore, the bandage that wrapped around his hand that he had stabbed searing with pain still, and the hollow feeling in his chest wouldn’t go away.
“you got up too fast, kid,” a voice called out to him. “i’m dr. kureha, you can call me doctorine, though,”
“the others i came with, are they okay?” was the first question he asked, eyes bleary as he looked at the figure of an old woman.
“pft! you guys are ridiculous! yeah, they’re all fine, healing up as we speak,” she assured him, taking a seat in a rolling chair and sliding over to his fetal form. “as for you, you’re seriously lucky to even be breathing,”
he rolled his eyes, forcing himself to sit upright against the wall and face her properly.
“i’ve been through worse,”
“oh, i know,” the woman said, emphasizing her words by speaking slowly for him to clearly hear. “do your friends know?”
[name] paused, taking in a deep breath and blinking slowly as he saw that it came out normal and not in white puffs.
“haven’t told them,” he confessed.
“i suggest you do while it’s still appropiate timing,” she advised and he felt himself want to cower in himself at her words, “the girl, she was real worried about you.”
“she’s alright?” [name] asked slowly.
“obviously, i gave her my medicine and cured her up really quickly!” the doctor prided herself and [name] softly smiled, nodding with a close eyed smile.
“that’s good, really good!” he said cheerfully, running a hand through his distressed hair.
“get back on that bed, boy and go to sleep, you need it,” she told him, about to stand up and walk away, but he stood up and moved to follow after her.
“i wanna see them,” he said in a demanding voice, looking at her with fierce eyes.
“why? don’t believe me?” she teased, hands on her hips.
he didn’t reply, waiting for her to walk ahead and show him the way. she shrugged and went ahead, laughing as she heard him scramble for a blanket to cover himself.
within a couple of minutes they travelled from his room to hers and it was definitely nami, seeing her orange tuft of hair under the blankets she was burying herself in.
the doctor left them alone, closing the door behind her. nami still hadn’t turned around and [name] smiled gently, sitting at the edge of her bed.
“what’s so interesting out that window?” he asked her, watching as first her shoulders stiffened, her head lifted from the pillow, and finally her entire torso shooting up from the bed.
“[name]!” she cried out in glee, throwing her arms around his neck in a long-awaited hug. “you’re really alright!”
“more or less,” he replied with a cheesy grin, “you won’t worry us like this again, right, nami?”
her eyes turned glassy and [name] frowned at the reaction, tilting his head in confusion, “oi, no need to cr-”
she dropped her head into his shoulder, grabbing him tight, her fists bunching up the blanket that was around [name]’s torso, “thank you for everything, [name]!” she shouted, making [name]’s eyes widen in shock.
“hey, it’s not big deal,” he said softly, rubbing her back comfortingly, “you’re our friend!”
she only sobbed louder at his words while he felt bad that he possibly made it worse.
“you took care of me the entire time when those idiots on the ship had no idea what to do!” she said, and this time her cries made him laugh, “thank you, for easing vivi’s worries too,”
“those aren’t big deals, nami, i’m just glad you’re alright now,” [name] breathed out, feeling a weight lifted off of his chest. “say, did my fighting impress you though?”
nami smiled at his teasing attitude, gently smacking his cheek with her palm. she wiped away her tears, “it was terrible and sloppy,” she joked back, making [name] hold his chest in dramatic offense. “and it woke me up several times, learn to be more considerate!” she continued on, enjoying the way he was feeding into the joke.
in a matter of minutes, the two of them were smiling and joking around as if nothing was wrong. eventually, he urged nami to rest and brought the blanket back up to her chin.
“i’m not sick anymore, you don’t have to worry so much, [name],” she chided, although she did enjoy the pampering he gave her. it was nice to just sit back and relax whislt someone else dealt with all your stressors!
the one perk of being sick, nami selfishly thought, was that [name] would tend to her every need without her having to vocalize them.
“you’re not going to rest either?” she asked gently, already feeling herself grow sleepy again.
he pushed her hair aside, taking a seat close to her bed and crossing his arms, “i’m comfortable right here! now go, rest nami!”
[name] fell asleep sitting up while nami slept comfortably on her bed.
then, luffy, sanji, and chopper ran through the room — yelling about how they were going to eat chopper. when they noticed that [name] was there, however, sanji and chopper were quick to settle down.
their captain on the other hand, had no idea on how to treat a newly healed person, so he jumped right onto [name] and was quick to smother him.
“[name]! you’re alright, they healed you up all right, huh?!” luffy shouted, waking [name] from his slumber and blinking slowly as he came to his senses. “do you feel gooooddd?!” he shouted right into [name]’s face.
sanji and chopper were about to scold luffy for his antics, but [name]’s soothing smile made them both calm down. he gently held onto luffy, who was comforting sitting on his lap, and squeezed his sides, “i feel the best!”
”well, that is a relief,” sanji said, walking over and petting [name]’s head.
“oh, is everyone all good and treated then?” [name] asked softly, laughing every now and then as he felt luffy poke and prod at him — probably trying to tickle him.
“yep! that old hag-” a smack on the head made sanji shut up, courtesy of the mentioned “old hag.” “erm, doctorine and chopper treated all of us,”
“that’s good to know!” [name] smiled, looking at luffy with a smile and began stretching the rubber man’s face, “now entertain me!”
luffy made faces as [name] pulled at his face, chopper watching in interest as luffy had the abilities of a rubber man, and sanji only sighed at their childish antics.
everything felt normal for a moment, all of them forgetting the grave danger they were in before as [name] and luffy laughed. sanji left the room to get the prepared food he had left for [name] and returned with a charming smile.
“feast to your heart’s content, [name]!”
“ooh! yay, food-”
“thanks, sanji!” luffy said, taking the biggest piece of meat off of [name] plate and shoving it into his mouth.
the room turned silent and awaited [name]’s reaction.
“you fucker! i’ll throw you out this window and make you climb up this place all over again!” [name] cursed, grabbing luffy by the throat and swinging him around. “choke on my food, you asshat!”
“don’t be so mean, [name]!” luffy screamed, holding on for dear life as he was swung around and around.
the two bickered for a while, sanji could only sigh as he brought more food out for [name] to actually eat. [name] simply forfeit his first plate to his captain, murmuring about how one day, “your endless stomach is gonna get you in big trouble!”
chopper was shyly looking into the room. unfortunately, he had his hiding position reversed.
“hey, reindeer! stop hiding and join us!” [name] said, laughing at the fear that crossed the animal’s features. “you’re a big scaredy cat, huh?”
“i’m not a cat, stupid human!” chopper shouted, pointing a hoof at [name] in anger. “don’t laugh at me!”
“oh, do you happen to have my black piece of cloth?” [name] asked, taking another bite of his food before continuing on, “it was wrapped around my wrist when i came up the castle, but i’m not wearing it anymore,”
“don’t talk with your mouth full, it’s disgusting,” sanji scolded, slapping [name] on the head as he smoked his cigarette.
chopper silently nodded his head in confirmation. he had thought the cloth was just a piece of trash, but he didn’t throw it out - only hand washing it to rid it of the blood that stained it.
“can i have it please? it’s important to me!” [name] grinned, making the reindeer nod once more.
chopper ran off after that, leaving only the strawhats in the room.
“hey, luffy, let him join the crew!”
“ah? i already said he'd be our doctor,” luffy said nonchalantly.
“but i want him as a mascot!” [name] said, making sanji slap him on the head again.
“he’d be better off being our doctor, idiot,” sanji said.
“i already tried talking to him, but he refused,” nami informed them, turning all their heads in her direction. “it seems he has a pretty sad past,” she said, her expression turning sad.
“all the more reason! isn’t everyone on our crews story depressing! we can be a band of depressed pirates!” [name] joked, earning him a pinch to the ear via nami and another slap to the head from sanji.
just as nami was going to continue, chopper came back into the room. this time, he was in a different form and walking on all-fours. in his mouth he held [name]’s sword and cloth, making the man beam at him.
“wah! you’re the greatest ever, chopper! sanji, fetch it for me!”
“you can walk on your own, idiot! don’t order me around!” the chef shouted, fury clear on his face as [name] pouted at him.
“to think you’d treat your own injured crewmate so harshly,” [name] said, his frown only deepening, “after all i’ve done for you!”
“don’t guilt trip me into feeling bad, it won’t work!!!” sanji shouted once more.
chopper silently walked across the room and dropped the items onto [name]’s lap. this made the man stop his fake tears and pet the reindeer on the head, “you did a really good job in taking care of us, chopper! you even remembered to put my necklace back on!”
chopper nodded, eyeing the piece of silver jewlery. noticing his interest, [name] said in a hushed tone, “if you forgot to put it back, we all might’ve died! isn’t that scary?”
it certainly did scare chopper as he stood still and his eyes were blown wide. his words made his crewmates look at him in caution. sanji being the first to speak up, “you’re joking, right?”
[name] shrugged playfully, “who knows?”
sanji seethed through his teeth, resisting the urge to hit [name] again, “don’t joke about things that are serious!”
“who said it was serious?”
“you implied it just now!” nami said, looking at [name] as if he were stupid and had grown three heads. “what do you mean we’d all might’ve died!”
“i was just saying,” [name] shrugged, taking the last couple bites of his food and rubbing his stomach, “since i’m nice and full now, no one will be dying anytime soon, don’t worry,”
“that doesn’t help at all!” nami and sanji cried out in unison.
“[name] was just joking,” luffy said, waving his hand as if it were not a big deal. nami and sanji couldn’t believe it - they literally couldn’t. if luffy knew something they didn’t, if [name] was really just joking, what the relevance of the necklace was. it was all so confusing.
so the two who were kept in the dark simply shook their heads and sighed at their troublesome new crewmate.
[name] hummed in delight, wrapping the cut out piece of cloth around his right wrist and holding the sword close.
“hey, chopper, you have any interest in pirates?”
the reindeer stiffened, hesitantly nodding his head.
“why don’t you become pirates with us?” [name] grinned, pointing at luffy, “he’s our captain and he’ll make sure you’re well taken care of!”
“he wants to eat me!!!” chopper said in resistance, making [name] sweatdrop.
“well, he won’t…probably,”
“what do you mean by probably?!” chopper said once more, turning to run out of the room in fear for his life. “eating me isn’t a joke, y’know?!”
“i never said it was!”
“yeah, apparently, you don’t say a lot of things, shit for brains,” sanji sarcastically chimed in, taking the clean plate off of [name]’s hands and setting it on the table.
“i miss zoro,” [name] said out of the blue, making sanji look at him incredulously.
“if you miss him why don’t you go running back to the going merry?! what does that even have to do with i just said?!” sanji berated him, pulling at his ear multiple times. “he doesn’t even like you!”
“are you saying you like me, sanji? what a romantic confession!”
“i’ll kill you!!!”
[name] laughed as the chef continued pulling on his ear, finding the shift in his attitude hilarious since he mentioned their swordsman. the easiest way to rile up sanji was mentioning zoro, after all. and sanji riled up and annoyed was always funny to [name].
their mini fight was broken up, however, when nami rest her hand on sanji’s arm. that completely made him still, not wanting to accidentally harm her in his actions, leaving [name]’s side and going to nami’s.
“you loud idiots leave the room, i’ve gotten tired again,” she said simply, turning her head to the window and yawning, “[name], why don’t you lie down as well?”
“hm, maybe i’ll go back to the room,” [name] said, feeling himself grow drowsy as well. when you eat food to your heart and stomach’s content, you do tend to get more tired, he thought to himself. “luffy, carry me to my room!”
“you have legs, don’t you?!” sanji shouted, making [name] brush him off once again.
luffy only grinned in happiness, taking [name] on his back in a piggy back ride and shouted about going on a race around the castle.
“just take me to my room, idiot!” [name] said, holding onto luffy tight as the rubber man began to run around the entire castle.
throughout the empty halls, [name]’s shouts could be heard from everywhere, making the rest of the crew sweatdrop at the duo’s antics.
when they were finally at [name]’s previous resting room, luffy dropped him off with a smile on his face.
”we’re gonna get chopper!” luffy said with a mischevious look on his face, “he’s gonna be our doctor, you think it’s a good idea right?!”
“well, why are you asking me? you’re the captain, idiot,” [name] said, chuckling as luffy peered so close to his face they were only centimeters apart. the ever oblivious luffy definitely had no sense of personal space.
“huh? i wanna know what you think,” luffy said simply, leaning closer to [name] to the point their noses and foreheads were touching, “it’s a good idea, right? right? i come up with great ideas, huh!”
“it’s a fine plan, luffy,” [name] said, pushing luffy’s forehead with his own before laying his head on his pillow, “now let me sleep,”
to his surprise, luffy didn’t immediately bolt out the room. instead, the captain just sat on the chair nereby [name]’s bed and looked at him.
“luf-”
“i wanna watch you sleep!” luffy said with a childish grin, leaning forward once more, “go sleep!”
[name]’s face cringed, “that’s creepy, plus it’s harder to sleep knowing you’re watching me…which is, an issue by itself,” but it seemed luffy didn’t pay attention to his words at all, simply humming a familiar tune to himself as [name] only resisted the urge to lecture luffy.
“just go, luffy,”
“i’m busy,”
“doing what?”
“watching!”
“it’s weird, go away!”
“it’s not weird,”
[name] turned on his side, pulling the blanket up to his face, “why is my captain such a weirdo…” he said, fake sniffles leaving his mouth as luffy only laughed behind him.
his captain was laughing at his misery. he could only sigh, pretend he didn’t know that luffy was there, and force himself to sleep.
luffy did stay for a little extra while longer, wanting to make sure that [name] was really sleeping. he pushed the chair closer to [name]’s bed and leaned his head down, so that it was resting on [name]’s chest.
he furrowed his eyebrows and shut his eyes, lips brought together as if he was in deep thought. he made sure his ear was pressed snug against [name]’s bare chest, focusing.
when he finally heard [name]’s steady heartbeat, he finally opened his eyes and let a look of relief wash over his face. he didn’t move from his spot, though, keeping his head against [name]’s chest.
[name] really scared luffy earlier. the man was so determined to get a doctor for nami that he didn’t really care much for his own person. but luffy noticed. the state he was in when they finally reached the top made the captain frown. [name] was so beat up and tired.
luffy usually didn’t pick up on a lot of things, but when it came to [name], he noticed almost everything.
and he saw that [name] was so eager to get nami to feel better he threw the health of his own body out the window. because of that, it became clear to luffy what their next course of action was.
get a doctor on board the going merry so [name] doesn’t have to make so many sacrifices in the future. plus, having someone there to treat their wounds from their awesome fights would also be a plus! luffy grinned at the thought of another friend sailing with them, going on adventures.
and [name] rarely ever got hurt, but if and whenever he does, luffy wants to be sure he’ll be treated. chopper just had to join them! he wouldn’t take no for an answer either. it’d be for the health of his crew, so it was vital chopper joined.
as he thought of ways to persuade the unique reindeer, he kept his ear pressed to [name]’s chest, humming a childhood song to himself. one that was given to him by [name] and made him think of him. and whenever he thought of [name], he couldn't help but smile. easily, like when he was a kid, he was hypnotized by the rhythmic beating and felt relaxed.

cunning woman one piece x reader.
type: lies, backstabbing, fem, 'I haven't watched past water 7 yet so the informations you will get are either distorted OR not in order I got them from AMV so I kinda am half spoield half understand the plot, I apologize in advance'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The straw hat's were in punk hazard trying to come up with an understanding of what's happening around them AND the new recruit Trafalgar law.
"luffy we can't trust him!" said nami and ussop.
"why? he saved my life!" answered luffy determined to start the alliance.
"that's true captain, pirate alliances are filled with back stabing's" informed robin with a kind smile.
immediately luffy turned to Law "will you betray me??" "no", and it seems the deal been sealed.
"Hohoho~if that's how easily you'll trust him then I had no reason for me to worry" a female voice said out of nowhere, the crew got in defensive positions ready to attack, while Law looked like he might know who she might be, "WHO ARE YOU" yelled luffy,
"your new business partner!" and so she appeared from the ground growing the a shadowy tree,
"you still haven't answered!" said nami getting her weapon ready,
"my name is not important right now" she was walking closer putting her hands up as if saying 'I am unarmed'.
"I am here to strike a dea-" before she can finish a 'ROOM' was heard
"straw hat-ya don't even think about trusting her, she's a backstabbing liar" he explained.
"I'll hear you out" was what luffy said to everyone's amazement and her delight.
The woman smirked. “I am here to give you four pieces of information—and more, depending on future events—in exchange for two things. What do you say, Straw Hat?” She walked slowly around the crew, her eyes assessing each of them like pieces on a chessboard.
the crew looked at each there thinking, informations are vital for their survival in the new world but can she really be trusted?
"what do you want" asked ussop.
"the fall of doflamingo and Kaido, simple as that"
Law flinched while the other's took a step back 'does it seem easy in her eyes?'
"Okay" answered luffy with a smile before receiving a beating by nami.
"Don't agree just like that!" scolding him the rest kept their eye on her.
"do you need proof of my information gathering skills?"
Walking up to the closest person to her,
"Sanji does Zeff the owner of The Baratie sound familiar? or a pink haired saviour girl?"
she said with an empty look before looking at chopper "and little reindeer doesn't Doctor Kureha or Hiriluk sound familiar?" turning toward the rest her eyes only asks if she should continue while leaving the other two shock on how did she know some of those informations which some only were known by the strawhats.
"how..." muttered sanji as luffy seemed angry with her.
"but I need to leave soon and since you already agreed even if your navigator doesn't I will talk, 1/ there is a mad scientist here called caesar clown, you need him with you, 2// the island is full of G-5 fighter's, 3/ smoker is on his way here, 4/ there is a kid in the garbage of block C if you want that samurai under control capture Kozuki Momonosuke" with each word the crew paid attention even thought they hate to admit it her informations might be correct.
it's been a while but everything was correct and now being in dressrosa they didn't think she would be there as a high member of the donexiou family, but now Viola and luffy were looking for the key to Law's handcuffs until.
"here grab it" again she was standing behind them throwing them the key.
"you!" viola was on high alert and luffy but luffy seemed happy to see her.
"It's you!" waving at her he caught the key before she turned around, "were are you going!" yelled Law, "to find Rebecca I need her" again she was gone.
Shit hit the fan law was down luffy is down as well, viola and rebecca were being controlled by doffy to kill each other till.
"DOFLAMINGO! let them go" she interrupted,
"fufufufu~its been a while" she smiled at him warmly as she stepped closer giving the illusion that she was on his side like she always was.
"it really was, but it has to come to an end" the three were shocked before she pulled out a gun and aimed it at him, doffy was disappointed but none the less he laughed as he grabbed her with his threads,
"you think that can kill me?" doflamingo asked amused, "no, but I needed to buy some time" with a shit eating grin she continued. "before he can come back Darling~" and the rest is history.
again he is faced with possibility of losing one of his crew members and to a yonko!
"hey straw kids" appearing again midship the crew knew it wasn't a happy visit,
"I need to keep the deal of giving informations so here's th-" before she could continue ussop grabbed her demanding to understand why sanji is gone, the rest seemed on bored with that even luffy,
"I can't tell you much but all I can provide are three thing's" horridly the crew paid attention "they want to kill him on his wedding day, and I have a map of the whole island, and a wedding invite!"
and that seemed to be enough to bring back their beloved cook
killing big mom and kaido helped in using her influence to stop the making of the smile fruit and not letting anymore slaves to come out of Dressrosa or whole cake island instead they are given citizenship, but that wasn't the last deed she wanted to do..............as everyone celebrated the win in wano Law took a break from them.
"I know your there" he said as she appeared from the shadow; "still wary of me I see" she sat down by his side offering him some rice balls which he declined.
"I am here to set the record straight I had nothing to do with corazones death" she began before law stood up in retaliation.
"like I'd believe that!" he shouted his eyes filled with hatred
"I see well your hatred won't change but let me give you this" she too stood up putting something in front of him "it's his lighter I got it from his corpse" again sounding calm and unfazed.
Law remained silent no knowing what to say, but he took it anyway, as she walked away she gave the last message "by the way the gun cora had was mine" and so she disappeared once again.
long ago a woman who just escaped slavery decided that she would do anything to not fall under anyone's thumb she won't bow she won't cower in fear nor will she ever beg again no matter the cost, so how is she covering for an idiot who won't give up on a kid destined to die? Did she see the false hope she had in him? Or is it because despite of everything she still has some humanity left in her?? Will one thing for sure this woman will have everything go according to her plan, and now 'I guess helping those idiot's wasn't a bad thing after all'

Will You Be My Valentine? - VISTY + 1Nm8
1Nm8
Itsuki:
Itsuki had never celebrated before and was content to let the holiday simply pass by, though he did wonder if he should get something for Kei or Rokuta as he saw platonic shows of affection being exchanged too. He seemed a little starstruck when you first asked but he promised that wasn’t the case, not that he had predicted you would ask him but he simply knew what his answer would be the second you asked. He just wanted to truly soak in the image of your face, the way you looked when you practically confessed to him, as he knew it’d be a memory he enjoyed recalling.
Kei Miyama:
Valentine’s Day was considered a much bigger deal when he was still part of VISTY, but Kei hadn’t thought much of the holiday since he left. He didn’t have positive feelings about commercializing love but you, who approached with a handmade gift and with genuine feelings rather than a cheesy pick-up line, quickly had him changing his mind. It felt inauthentic to send out flirtatious messages out to fans but connecting with a person he truly cared for was different, and he was more than happy to spend his time with you as he felt like he could truly relax when you were around.
Rokuta:
Rokuta is interested in any holiday that involves snacking, even if it wasn’t centered around karaage; an empty stomach was his biggest weakness, after all. Come at him with some freshly baked goods and he’ll be head over heels in no time! That was only partially a joke, as Rokuta was quite fond of you, but when you asked him to be your valentine you did have to explain what it meant to him. When he realized it was a special deal, something extended only to him, he felt a little fluttering in his chest that was difficult to define, but he simply agreed and resolved to ask the others about it later.
VISTY
Aoi Kureha:
You had almost talked yourself out of asking Aoi to be your valentine, simply because you knew how dedicated to their fans they were; you didn’t want to question if they only said yes because they knew it’d make you happy. The surprised look on their face, cheeks glowing a healthy pink and eyes watering briefly before being hastily wiped away, let you know you had made the right move. To have someone love them as they were was something they had always hoped for, and while their fans ‘knew’ them, you truly knew who they were inside and out… They felt sad that they didn’t think to ask you first, but assure you that they very much wanted to be your valentine, they just never thought it was an option.
Kantaro Misuji:
Kantaro hated looking through social media so close to Valentine’s Day, but it did help him find cute unique gifts that would make perfect presents for you. He had been ruminating on presenting you with something special but he couldn’t seem to make up his mind, sticking his fingers into too many pies as he half-finished many projects. He’s thrown into overtime when you asked him to be your valentine as he realized he was behind schedule, telling you to hold that thought, then yes, and then telling you yes but he has to do something first before he can be your valentine (and he finished his projects with lightning speed as he couldn’t let you down).
Shogo Yamato:
Shogo had never realized how good it would feel to be noticed like this. There was some part of him that yearned for a ‘normal’ romance, to be someone just going to school and existing and then suddenly being confronted with an emotional whirlwind when his crush confessed. He’s flustered, stuttering out that he needed you to repeat yourself as he hadn’t heard you properly; he did, he knew he did, but he just had to hear you say it again. You whispered his name in the sweetest way, his heart singing as you asked him a little louder if he would be your valentine (if you had to do it a third time, you’d simply burst into flame). Shogo’s more than happy to be your valentine, posing the question back at you as he felt it was only right you experience the same feelings he did.
Toma Hikage:
Toma didn’t actually suspect you had ulterior motives for inviting him, simply glad he could spend some free time together, but when he’s presented with a frilly gift as well as a ‘will you be mine, valentine?’ he can’t hide his giddiness. He wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug, thinking this was the cutest way possible to be asked, admitting to himself that he might feel that way only because it’s you. Toma’s excited, so happy that you asked him to be your valentine that he wanted to post all about it. He decided against the idea, thinking that something like this was a moment that should be enjoyed rather than shown off.

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 16: Crossing Paths - Episode 30: Real Name
Guy: “They should still be nearby.”
Citron: “Let’s hurry after them!”
Kureha: …
-
[Applause]
Guy: Thank you very much.
Citron: Thank you~!
Kureha: (That’s Guy-san for you. So many people have gathered even for such a small Street ACT.)
Audience A: It’s almost time for the Winter Troupe’s eleventh performance. I have to preorder tickets as soon as they’re available!
Audience B: Guy-san was really good in the Winer Troupe’s tenth performance, too~
Audience A: Yeah, he was so cool!
Kureha: (The Winter Troupe’s tenth performance… I wonder what kind of role he had?)
Kureha: (Now that I think about it, I never really looked at MANKAI Company’s site.)
Kureha: (I wonder if it’s got introductions for the members? Guy-san is…)
Kureha: ——
Guy: Kureha, you came.
Citron: You should have joined us!
Kureha: …
Guy: Is something wrong?
Kureha: Um… Is your last name also Nishiki, Guy-san?
Guy: What?
Kureha: On one of the flyers… Ah, no, I’m sorry. It’s nothing. Please excuse me.
[Kureha leaves]
Guy: ——
-
Tooru: “I see, so that’s why…”
Guy: Did you tell Kureha about me?
Tooru: “Yes. He asked as soon as he got home. I simply answered him honestly.”
Tooru: “It seems he’s a little confused right now. He’s holed himself up in his room.”
Tooru: “I might have ended up hurting Kureha by dragging this matter out for so long.”
Tooru: “I’m sorry for the trouble I’ve caused you as well, Gai.”
Guy: No, don’t worry yourself about me.
Tooru: “I should have mustered up the courage to talk to him after reuniting with you.”
Guy: I also hadn’t considered the company’s website. I should have been more careful.
Tooru: “You haven’t done anything wrong, Gai. I’ll try to talk to Kureha again once he calms down.”
Tooru: “I’ll call again.”
Guy: Yeah. Alright.
[Call hangs up]
Guy: … Hah.
Citron: << I assume what you were fearing has happened. >>
Guy: << Yes. This timing is rather unfortunate. >>
Guy: << I should have kept my name as “Guy” on all our flyers, after all. >>
Citron: << You’re talking about the flyer for the “Die by the Sword.” performance, yes? Both are your names, you know, and it fit perfectly with the traditional Japanese atmosphere of the play. >>
Guy: << Yes. That is what I thought as well, so I asked the Director if I could have my real name on the flyer at least this one time… >>
Guy: << If he had to find out, I would rather it had happened once KICS had started their activities and everything was settled… Not that there is any point in mulling over it now. >>
Guy: << I must have disenchanted Kureha now. I would not find it strange if he were to blame me for keeping quiet for so long. >>
Guy: << I should not have gotten close to him in the first place… >>
Citron: << I believe you concern yourself with your position far too much. >>
Citron: << Tangerine and I have also had our misunderstandings because I was unable to convey my thoughts properly. >>
Citron: << What’s important now is that you properly talk to Kureha. You can’t be a stranger at this point, after all. >>
Citron: << You can’t change the fact that you two are brothers, no matter how much you avert your eyes from it. Now it’s up to you two to decide how you wish to build your relationship. >>
Guy: << Right… If I want Kureha’s forgiveness, I will have to speak with him myself. >>
-
[Door jingling]
Guy: …
Kureha: Welco–
Guy: Could I talk to you for a little while?
Kureha: … You may sit over there.
Guy: ——
Kureha: Please wait a moment.
Guy: (As I figured, we won’t be able to talk as we used to.)
-
[Kureha places a cup on the table]
Kureha: Thank you for waiting.
Guy: This is…
Kureha: You served me tea in your shop before, didn’t you?
Kureha: I prepared the tea leaves I’d like to serve you, if you ever came here.
Guy: … Thank you… I can smell the jasmine… It’s calming.
Guy: (He’s doing the same thing I did when I reunited with our father.)
Kureha: I’m sorry for the way I behaved. You knew, didn’t you, Guy-san?
Guy: … Yeah. I’m sorry for keeping quiet.
Kureha: Sometimes, after they put me to bed, I could hear my parents talking about a child I didn’t know.
Kureha: They spoke about him as if he was very far away and they worried about him. I was curious who it was, and it filled me with a childish jealousy.
Kureha: It sounded as though they cared about him very much… Now that I think about it, they were talking about you, weren’t they?
Kureha: I couldn’t believe I had an older brother, but at the same time, I’ve found myself accepting it.
Guy: If you would prefer not to see me anymore, I’ll do my best to stay out of your way
Kureha: I don’t think that way at all. If anything, I’m glad you’re my older brother, Guy-san.
Guy: … Is it alright for me to think that you’ve accepted me, then?
Kureha: There is nothing for me to accept. I was confused at first, and I still am, a little…
Guy: I see… Of course you are.
Guy: If it’s alright with you, I’d like for us to explore this new relationship of ours, little by little.
Kureha: I’ll be in your care. I’m blessed to have a reliable brother such as you.
Guy: Thank you. I’m also happy to have you as my younger brother.

Finding a Safe Space
The icy winds swirled around the entrance of the castle as Luna, Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp trudged their way through the snow, finally catching up to where Doctor Kureha was treating Nami. Luffy had rushed ahead earlier with her, and now the remaining Straw Hats entered the massive halls, following the sound of commotion echoing through the castle.
“MEAT!” Luffy’s voice rang out, followed by the sound of rapid footsteps.
Sanji frowned. “What the hell is he doing now?”
As they rounded the corner, they were greeted with a strange sight—Luffy was chasing a small, blue-nosed reindeer around the room, his arms outstretched. The reindeer darted back and forth, trying desperately to evade Luffy’s grasp, but the grin on Luffy’s face only widened with each failed attempt.
“I’m not food!” the reindeer squeaked, its voice filled with panic as it zigzagged through the room.
Luffy’s eyes sparkled, clearly thinking it was some kind of game. “Come here, meat! Wait… no, you’re cool! You’re awesome! I’m gonna eat—no, wait! Join us!”
The crew stared in disbelief for a moment before Usopp burst out laughing. “Look at him go! He really thinks Chopper’s meat!”
Sanji shook his head, muttering under his breath. “Idiot…”
Zoro crossed his arms, smirking slightly. “Should’ve expected this.”
As Luffy made another dive for Chopper, the little reindeer transformed into his larger form and bounded away, only to accidentally crash into Luna, who had been standing by the door watching the spectacle unfold.
“Ah!” Luna gasped as she stumbled back, losing her balance and falling to the ground. Chopper, horrified, immediately reverted back to his smaller form, his face turning a deep shade of red.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry!” Chopper squeaked, his voice trembling with worry as he rushed over to help her up. “I didn’t mean to—are you okay?”
Luna blinked in surprise as she looked up at the anxious little reindeer. His concern was genuine, and she could feel the sincerity in his voice. Despite the fall, she smiled softly and nodded. “I’m okay, don’t worry,” she reassured him, her voice gentle.
Chopper hesitated, his tiny hoof reaching out to help her to her feet. “I-I didn’t see you there… I’m really sorry,” he muttered, clearly flustered.
Luna took his hoof and stood up slowly, dusting herself off. “It’s okay, really.” She looked down at him, her eyes softening. “Thank you for caring.”
Chopper’s eyes widened, and his face turned an even deeper shade of red. He shuffled his hooves awkwardly, clearly unused to receiving kindness from others. “Y-You’re welcome…” he stammered, his tough facade crumbling as he fidgeted nervously.
As Luna continued to look at him with a gentle smile, Chopper glanced up, unsure of what to say. “Are… Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked, his voice soft and filled with concern.
Luna hesitated, caught off guard by his question. It wasn’t often that someone asked her how she felt. She glanced down, unsure of how to answer. “I’m… fine,” she said finally, though her voice was unconvincing.
Chopper seemed to sense her uncertainty, and his eyes softened with understanding. “If… If you ever need to talk, I’m here,” he offered, his voice filled with shy sincerity. He shuffled his hooves again, clearly nervous, but the kindness in his offer was unmistakable.
The room seemed to hold its breath as Luna stared at him, the genuine warmth in his words making something tighten in her chest. Slowly, she nodded, a small but real smile appearing on her face. “Thank you, Chopper. That means a lot.”
Chopper blinked, surprised by the depth of her gratitude. “I-I’m not just a reindeer! I’m Tony Tony Chopper, the great Doctor of this island!” he said, puffing out his chest in an attempt to look tough. But the effect was ruined by his small stature and the way his voice wavered.
Luffy, having finally stopped chasing him, grinned widely. “Awesome! Thanks, Reindeer Guy!” he exclaimed, clapping Chopper on the shoulder, causing the little reindeer to stumble slightly.
Chopper’s face turned beet red again as he tried to keep up his tough act. “I-I told you, I’m Tony Tony Chopper!” he huffed, his embarrassment evident.
Usopp, who had been watching the entire exchange with wide eyes, grinned from ear to ear. “Aw, look at that! They’re bonding already!” he said with a laugh, nudging Zoro.
Zoro, who had been standing silently by, allowed a rare, small smile to cross his lips. “Looks like we’ve found another good one,” he murmured quietly.
Sanji lit a cigarette, shaking his head in amusement as he watched Chopper and Luna. “Who knew the ship would be full of such soft hearts?”
Nami, still recovering in the background, smiled warmly at the sight. Even she could feel the connection forming between the two.
Luffy, completely oblivious to the deeper emotions of the moment, threw his arms into the air. “Chopper! You’re gonna be our doctor now, right?”
Chopper jumped, his eyes widening in shock. “W-What? No! I-I mean, I can’t! I—”
“Of course you can!” Luffy declared confidently, his smile bright and unwavering. “You’re the best doctor ever!”
Chopper’s face turned red yet again, and he fumbled for words. “B-But… You don’t even know me!”
Luffy shrugged, his smile never fading. “Doesn’t matter. You’re awesome! And you’re gonna be part of our crew!”
As Luffy laughed and cheered, Luna continued to watch Chopper, her heart aching at the conflicted look on his face. She knew that feeling all too well—the feeling of not being sure if you belonged, the fear of rejection. Slowly, she stepped forward, her hand reaching out to him.
“If you ever want to… I mean, you don’t have to decide now, but…” she hesitated, her voice soft but steady. “We’d love to have you with us.”
Chopper stared at her, his eyes wide and shiny. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he reached out and placed his hoof in her hand. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes.
The crew watched in silence, the warmth of the moment settling over them. Even Zoro, who rarely showed emotion, couldn’t help but smile softly as he looked at the two of them.
Later that night, as the group settled in for some much-needed rest, Luna sat on the deck, the stars twinkling above them. Chopper, still shy but growing more comfortable, curled up beside her, his head resting on her lap. Zoro sat nearby, keeping a watchful eye on them, his presence a silent but steady source of protection.
Luna gently stroked Chopper’s fur, her heart feeling lighter than it had in a long time. For the first time in what felt like forever, she knew that maybe, just maybe, she had found another part of her family.

I have so many thoughts for Ghost Roger au!! I love when a character can see ghosts like that!
It takes awhile, but the crew begin to talk out loud. Some do it sooner than others. Usopp is the first. “I told you pirates were coming mom!” And he spends his free time making up stories. All the ghosts enjoy them, not just his mother.
Zoro is next. He’s never been a man of words, and that doesn’t change now. But one day, he comes up with a new move. He’s silent for a few moments and smirks. “Like you could do better.” He swears that the mast hitting him is just a coincidence.
Sanji is hesitant for a very long time. In fact he doesn’t even talk to his mother. It’s Bellemere he talks to first, wondering what Nami’s favorite tangerine dish is. Five minutes after that Luffy comes in and answers him. Now he talks through his cooking methods, like he’s teaching Sora
Nami is actually the second after Usopp. She swears she felt her mother that night in her house. That her mother had pushed her out of the house. She only ever talks to her mother in her tangerine groove, talking through her feelings and how she plans to spend the money.
Chopper takes awhile. He’s a doctor, a man of science after all. And Kureha wasn’t the superstitious type. But when Chopper is studying medicine or is trying to find the right procedure or cure, he asks out loud and always finds the right book sitting on his desk.
Robin knows for awhile about the ghosts, but she doesn’t dare say a word. Not until after Enies Lobby, when she has a moment to herself. “You were right Saul.”
Brooke has spent fifty years conversing with the dead and it doesn’t change now! It gets better actually, now that Luffy can tell him what Yorki and the others say.
Franky didn’t know until Thriller Bark, and afterwards, he sits on the railing and asks Tom what he thinks. Franky swears he can hear his mentor laughing in the wind.
And I’m not really sure about Jimbe? I just started Impel Down so I don’t have a good idea of him just yet
Hehehehehehe you've activated my trap card--
Luffy being possessed by 100 fractured pieces of ghosts broke his soul in a way that cannot be undone. His grandmother warned him against it, demanded Luffy do something else, but Luffy has always been stubborn. It isn't exactly a bad thing, just now Luffy can house ghosts. It still hurts just as much as the first time, but Luffy's never been unable to deal with physical pain. He only discovers it when Roger asks him if he thinks he could get possessed like his Nightmare form again. Then Luffy said he wasn't sure and asked Roger to try possessing him.
Roger did, for all of ten seconds before he let back go because Roger had no real interest in changing the world anymore, only observing.
Then Luffy told Chopper and Sanji because they got mad when he didn't mention what gear second Was, and made him promise to tell them new abilities.
Sanji asked if being possessed was easy. Luffy said it was. Sanji asked, very hesitantly, if Luffy could have Sora possess him, just for a bit. Luffy could never deny his crew, so he let Sora in, and Sanji and Sora had a long conversation that ended up with Sora eating her fill of Sanji's cooking and telling him she was so proud of the man he made himself into. Then she let go, and Sanji was so grateful for the moment. Luffy understood, if Sabo had ever found his way back to their treehouse Luffy would have wanted to spend as much time as possible with him too.
Then Nami asked if she could talk to Belle-mere. They picked some tangerines from the trees on Sunny, made them into pinwheels and talked about the world they lived in in much thicker accents than Nami usually spoke in. Belle-mere finally told Nami her secret tangerine tart recipe that Belle-mere never got around to writing down and never had her daughters grow old enough with her she could tell them.
Then Usopp, he asked about his mom. They talked and then they sang an old song from when Usopp was little - and even though it was Luffy's voice, Usopp was so so happy to see her.
Then Zoro wanted to teach Kuina the new katas he'd learned, Franky wanted to work on Sunny with Tom, Robin wanted to ramble about her latest book while Professor Clover gave what he knew on the subject - and he knew a little of every subject, and Brook wanted to play a duet with his captain that his new crew could actually hear.
Luffy's grandma hated it, told Luffy he needed to stop, but Luffy wouldn't listen. Luffy kept switching between ghosts, spent more and more time with his crew while not himself because they always smiled so much.
Then, either the constant stress, or the lack of sleep, or Luffy only eating as much as the ghost possessing him would have while alive, or a combination of all three - when Chopper finally got up the nerve to ask if Hiriluk could join him in making some new rumble balls and Luffy agreed, he let Hiriluk seep over his soul but it hurt so much worse than usual - and Luffy collapsed.
When he woke up, he was in one of the infirmary beds, sat up with a bedtray and an immaculate looking bowl of soup in front of him. Luffy looked up and saw Sanji smoking out of the port window. Before Luffy could say a single syllable Sanji had noticed his eyes were open and started yelling about how dare Luffy not let Sanji know he was starving and tired and how he scared everyone and how he was the shittiest crap captain and Sanji would dunk him in the sea until hermit crabs started living in his empty shell of a head.
Then the others heard the fit Sanji was throwing and started crowding into the infirmary, all talking over eachother until Chopper went muscle point and yelled at everyone to be quiet.
Then Luffy remembered it was Chopper's turn, so he found Hiriluk in the crowd and offered his head up. Hiriluk just put his hand there and told Luffy the crew needed none of that.

I’d love to see some kureha headcanons from you!! (And maybe even some that involve Jack??) I’ve been really enjoying seeing ur headcanons in my feed!
I don't really know if you meant this as in a ship/friendship way, but I just decided to go overboard and put effort in to explore their weird ass (gay) dynamic lmao
Kureha HCs:
Kureha speed-reads. It's a habit he developed in elementary school so he could spend more time protecting his brother, and it was a fantastic help during his studies to become a doctor.
This man has a flawless memory. You mentioned something to him three years ago about something you liked but it was out of stock? Guess what, he bought it at it's lowest price point and is now giving it to you on your birthday. Surprise!
His handwriting is the WORST for non-professional things. You got a prescription from him? Yeah, you can read that just fine! Patient charts? The most flawless writing you have ever seen. He left you a note on your computer? You think that says coffee, but it could also say chicken, so now you're confused.
Claims to be against workplace gossip and against participating until he gets home, because then he's telling you all about how Ayumi from the front desk is fucking the neurologist and his wife just hired a PI, but apparently she's been messing around with the janitor at her job.
He has favourite patients. Jack is simultaneously his favourite and least favourite patient, the man will just sit and let him do whatever he wants as long as it's in the name of improvement, but he's TERRIBLE at recovery. Kureha says "bedrest for three weeks with mild exercise", and Jack hears "Don't push yourself until the point of passing out for three days".
Speaking of patients, he absolutely takes meticulous notes. Is the patient being difficult and rude? Oh it's going on their chart in meticulous detail. They called him a name and refused to take their meds? It's on the chart in the most professional but still passive-aggressive way.
Jack HCs:
Uncannily good at math. If you ask him, offhandedly and as casually as possible for an answer to a math question, he'll almost instantly get you an answer, and most of the time it's either spot on or really close. Baki has tried to get Jack to answer the questions for his math homework before, and it took a while before Jack realised what was up.
He learned about Baki a while before he actually met him, but he still hasn't processed that he's an older brother, so occasionally Baki will call him brother super casually and Jack will just [dialup noises] for a solid minute until he remembers "oh right yeah, that's actually my little brother."
Forever tired and hungry, but determined enough to get away with a chronic lack of sleep for months on end until he finally crashes. Healthy? No. He knows it too, but he's got things to do, and sleep can wait until he's kicked his father's ass. If he keeps being such a strong favourite too, a nice comfortable mattress is in store for him.
He knows he can beat bears in a fight (as with most wild animals that he grew up knowing) but the problem is that he doesn't like bears, he grew up knowing that you don't mess with bears, because they'll ruin your day. He'll deal with them no problem, but he won't like it.
He doesn't wake up very fast at all, most of the time he just gains conscience like two hours after waking up and he's doing something. He's "woken" up before after having an hour long conversation with Tokugawa about his hometown after Father Samuel called him.
He sometimes (when he's very tired or just waking up) will forget just how big he is. He has slammed his head against doorframes many times. He will continue to do so most likely.
Jack and Kureha HCs:
Jack and Kureha as friends are two weird mfs. For starters, Jack is quiet and stoic, so most people that see him assume that he's either some sort of bodyguard for Kureha, or that he's annoyed by him. In reality, Jack's just a quiet person, and Kureha takes every chance to talk his ears off because he won't interrupt unless it's important.
Sometimes it's painfully aware just how much more experienced and educated Kureha is in everyday matters. Jack didn't even go to high school, and Kureha managed to become a practicing doctor. Jack isn't stupid by any means, but sometimes Kureha absolutely loses him because he's talking about something Jack hasn't ever learned about before.
While Kureha can go off about medical jargon to Jack and lose him after just about five minutes, Jack can just start talking about the, quite frankly weird shit that happens out in the Canadian wilderness near his home, and Kureha just doesn't have any idea how to process the fact that at least some of what Jack tells him is true and has happened within Jack's direct line of sight.
Jack and Kureha dating, however, is very different. They're such bitches to each-other because they're so in love that they're at the "I fucking hate you" stage of their relationship, but only when they're out in public. It's a lot of Jack cleaning up the absolute mess that is Kureha's apartment, and Kureha making a mess out of the apartment the second Jack steps out.
Kureha absolutely tries to pull a whole dominant/submissive thing, with Jack being submissive, but mans was legitimately too chill to really care and it ruined the whole thing for Kureha, who legitimately pouted for a whole week. Jack had no idea what he did wrong either, he thought that Kureha wanted to be dominant, so he submitted. He's not really one to fight for dominance, if he wants it he'll just take it.
Neither of them being able to cook for shit, other than Jack being uncannily good at breakfast foods, so they either eat pancakes at 6pm or they go out to eat. It means less dishes (usually) so Jack doesn't complain, since Kureha could never do those.
A lot of Kureha saying that Kosho is being annoying and Jack being like "That's nice, Baki's chill, an angel really. Anyways, do your parents want me to come over?" Just so he can flex on Kureha that his little brother is the better one.

4. 12. 18. 23 for aoi kureha :))
autism creature yippee confetti gif… i get to talk about my favourite visty member. no one cares but i have a butterfly necklace and a butterfly ring that reminds me of aoi and i have to wear it in the morning before i dare to face the day. but whatever. thank you for asking me about them.
4. if you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
this is such a hardddd question because i usually only read, and a lot of the books i read are not something i’d like to put my aoi in, but i’d want them to play a mythical creature / knight in a high fantasy novel. preferably an elf with a sword, or maybe even one of the noble folk… or a mermaid… heh… maybe they can be a Neverland fairy… idk… im sorry it’s not a good answer i’ll sit in the gutter to atone… i just think any role with magic, pointed ears, jewellery and glitter on their cheekbones will be good for them.
12. what’s a headcanon you have for this character?
kind of random. but my headcanon is that all of aoi’s piercings are self-administered and they’re so good at it, they did the rest of visty’s piercings too. i think they’re really good with tasks that require any kind of fine motor control and steady hands.
and you said a headcanon but i’m giving another one i think they’re really into musical theatre they were probably part of the kids’ theatre group when they were little. not that anyone asked.
18. how about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
well since we have next to nothing on visty <3 i like aoi being the cool-headed one out of everyone in visty, even in times of their awkwardness, they make up for it with their sincerity which is very endearing to me. and not to sneak in a headcanon that will likely turn out to be false, i feel like they’d get along with dongha. but whatever. no one asked me abt that.
23. favourite picture of this character?
of course i have to give two
thank you for asking me about aoi i felt so YIPPIE getting to talk about them. i love aoi and the rest of visty equally <3

It was late in the evening when the Saitama division team returned to the Miyuki residence. Though Sayaka insisted on staying home for her birthday, her best friend and surrogate sister, Lola, refused to take 'no' for an answer (It also didn't help that Yoshiko had sided with Lola, wanting to go out to eat, as well). As such, the birthday woman relented, though she was firm that the group return home no later than 10 P.M., as it was still a school night and Yoshiko had class in the morning.
Upon returning, the group of women stopped as they looked as the porch was covered with a multitude of boxes, no doubt all for the birthday woman, herself.
"Are... are these all for me?" Sayaka asked, speaking out loud.
"Well, it is your birthday, Mama!" Lola answered, as she was holding Yoshiko on her shoulders, who was enjoying being above everyone else.
"It seems like there are more here than last year." Kureha stated, as she began picking up the gifts and carrying them in the house as Sayaka unlocked the front door. Within a few minutes, all the gifts were moved from the front porch into the family living room.
"Can we open them now, Mama?!" Yoshiko asked, only for Sayaka to frown.
"Not tonight, sweetie." Sayaka answered. "It's already past your bedtime."
"Aww!" Yoshiko pouted.
"Oh, come on, Sweetness!" Lola said, already holding one of the boxes. "I want to see what you got myself."
"Lola..." Sayaka said, frowning at her friend, before sighing. "Fine, but only a few of them."
"Yay!" Both Lola and Yoshiko exclaimed, making Kureha wince as she gingerly rubbed the inside of her ears. Picking up the first gift, which wasn't very heavy, but not light either, the matriarch unwrapped the gift and pulled out the item.
The first box contained a black leather jacket with a butterfly motif on the back, as well as 'SAYAKA' written at the top.
"Oh my," Sayaka said, looking at it from all sides.
"Try it on, Sweetness! I want to see how it looks!"
Looking at Lola, slightly exasperated, the matriarch obeyed, nonetheless, slipping the jacket on. She had to admit, it felt sort of good.
"Look good, babe!" Lola complimented, giving her a thumbs up.
"Oh hey," Kureha said, walking up to Sayaka and pulling something off of the jacket.
"A note." She said, holding up a piece of paper with writing on it. Handing it to her mother, Sayaka unfolded it and read it:
"Happy birthday, Butterfly! Sorry for delivering this so late! The girl I had design it was taking her good, sweet time, but she delivered. Make sure you wear that thing from now on. It'll earn you kudos points when you go out. Trust me. Enjoy the rest of your birthday!
Sincerely,
Aranai "Ride or Die" Norikoru"
"Hmm, not bad." Lola said, hearing that jacket was from Aranai. "Kid's got good taste."
Shaking her head at her friend, Sayaka sat back down on the couch as she opened the next gift, which was smaller than the first.
It was a small, yet perfectly maintained bonsai tree with butterfly decorations on the branches. What really cemented it was the fact that Sayaka's full name was at the glass dish, and a photo of Sayaka underneath the tree.
"Mommy, it's you!" Yoshiko said, pointing to the photo.
"Ha, yes, it is, sweetie." Sayaka said, looking at the tree, surprised but happy.
"Did it say who it's from?" Kureha asked, looking around the tree in her mother's hands.
"Umm... oh, hold on."
Reaching into the box the tree came in, she pulled out a note similar to the Aranai's. Unfolding this one, she read it:
"A most joyous happy birthday once again to you, Sayaka-san! I pray that you are enjoying this day that the Lord has blessed you with. I've been practicing on pruning bonsai trees, and this was the first one that I was thoroughly pleased with, so I decided to gift it to you. I hope you enjoy it and take good care of it. Happy birthday once again, and may God bless you with many, many more!
Sincerely,
Shisuta"
"Ugh, I know she means well, but she really needs to work on gift-giving skills." Lola said, rolling her eyes at the tree and note.
"Lola, be nice." Sayaka said, frowning at her friend, as she looked back at the bonsai tree, smiling at it. "Truthfully, gifts like these mean a lot. I'll have to thank Shisuta for this on her birthday."
"Whatever."
Ignoring her friend, Sayaka turned to the next gift, which was the smallest so far. Opening it, the matriarch gasped silently.
It was an engraved fountain pen with a butterfly motif on it. Sayaka gently picked it up from all sides and looked it, fascinated with it. On the top of the box it came in, there was another note, which read:
"A very happy birthday to you once again, Sayaka-san. I truly hope that it was a good one, as always. You mentioned a few weeks ago that you had misplaced a particular pen you had liked, so I thought you might like this. I know it won't replace the one you lost, but I hope you find it useful, regardless. Your work, as always, is always greatly appreciated. I thank you once again for all that you do. See you at work again sometime. And once again, a very happy birthday to you.
Sincerely,
Kisouna Yuzairu"
"A pen?" Lola questioned, raising an eyebrow. "Does your job even require you to use to write often? I thought you were a crime scientist or something, Sweetness."
"The proper term is 'forensic scientist'." Kureha corrected.
"And I still have to write up reports on my findings when I'm done." Sayaka explained, before looking back at the pen with a smile. "So, a pen like this is going to be very helpful."
"If you say so."
Placing the pen back in its box, Sayaka turned to her fourth gift. She sighed as she was halfway done, thankfully. This next gift was a lot smaller than the previous one, making it the smallest out of the bunch; no surprise since it was a jewelry box.
It was a gold bracelet with different colored stones embedded in each opening. Holding it up, all of the women looked as the stones glistened off the living light, making it sparkle.
"Wow, it's so pretty, Mommy!" Yoshiko said, staring at it.
"Yeah, this gift is a hell of a lot better than the previous ones." Lola agreed. "Who sent it?"
"Umm..." Looking inside the gift box, at the top, there was some writing, which said:
"Sayaka-san, a very happy birthday to you. You mentioned in our last class that your birthday was coming up, so I decided to make you something, as thanks for your dedication in coming to our yoga class when you can. It's a chakra bracelet, meant to symbolize balance and inner peace. I hope it can provide you with just those things. Look upon it when times are tough, and I'm sure your burdens will be lighter. May your birthday continue to be a great one.
Sincerely,
Ivelisse Martinez"
"Ugh, great. And just like that, the gift is ruined." Lola said, pouting.
"Is there a particular reason you're being so vocal this evening?" Kureha asked, frowning at her friend/annoying mentor.
"Probably because I expect more from these gifts! So far, they've been one bad gift after another."
"Why are you even complaining? None of them are for you. They're for Mom." Kureha argued.
"And I actually have liked all of the gifts I've gotten, Lola." Sayaka said, frowning at her friend as the chakra bracelet was now on her wrist. "So please stop complaining. These gifts were given out of love."
"Fine, fine." Lola said, holding her hands up. "I'll keep my comments to myself."
"Much appreciated."
Turning to the fifth gift, the matriarch noted that this one was small as well, though not as small as Kisouna's or Ivelisse's. Opening it, she and the others looked at what was inside.
It was a music box adorned with a butterfly motif, like the rest of the gifts. What made the gift even more enchanting was the fact that, like Shisuta's gift, a drawing of Sayaka was present.
"Is... is that me?" Sayaka asked, looking at the drawing.
"You look pretty, Mommy!" Yoshiko said, getting up close to the music box, smiling at the drawing.
"Thank you, Sweetie." Sayaka said, rubbing her child's head, a small blush on her cheeks.
"Who's it from?" Lola asked.
"Why?" Kureha asked, looking back at her with a frown. "Wanna complain about this gift too?"
"I'm just curious! I wasn't going to say anything about it."
"Uh-huh."
Looking around, Sayaka couldn't find any indication of who sent it. Opening it up, she and the other women present listened as a small tune started playing, which sounded familiar to Sayaka as the tune continued playing.
"Where have I heard this before?" She wondered, listening deeply and closely to the melody. Not able to place it at the moment, she simply smiled as it was a very nice one. Looking inside, a note was placed, which she picked up and read:
"Happy birthday to you, Sayaka-san. I hope it is going well for you. I apologize that we haven't really talked much up until now, but it is always good to hear you doing well. Zakari mentioned that he heard from Kensaku-san that your birthday was coming up, so I spent the better part of a week making this, along with his and my wife's help. She did the drawing while he helped put this thing together. I only contributed to the music. It was a beat we worked on together back during the TDD days, but it never got released because... well, I'm sure you know.
But it suddenly came to my mind when I was thinking of a song to put in. I hope both the tune and this box can remind you of happier times when everything was right with the world. A happy birthday to you again. I look forward to seeing you and your team later on in the year during the Collab Event. Until then, stay safe.
Sincerely,
Kai Quinlan"
"Oh! That's where I heard it from!" Sayaka said, suddenly remembering.
"You know this tune, Mom?" Kureha asked.
"Kai and I came up with it back when we were with TDD, but... it never got released, unfortunately." Sayaka said, sadly.
"Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, Mama." Lola said. "Hey, at least you have something to remember it by now."
"...True." Sayaka nodded, looking back at the music box with a smile. As the tune ended, she closed the box and put it off to the side, promising that she'd find a special place in the house to put it. She then turned to the sixth and final gift. This gift was far bigger than the rest.
"I'm pretty sure we all know what this one is," Lola said, smirking.
"This would be the only gift that you'd get excited about." Kureha said, rolling her eyes, to which Lola simply shrugged.
Inside the last gift was, not surprisingly, a two-layered birthday cake with butterflies adorning it. In the front of the cake was written, 'Happy Birthday, Sayaka' in cursive. Inside the box it came in, a letter was written, which read:
"Dear Sayaka-san,
A very happy birthday to you once more. I hope that it has been a good one. And I hope this birthday cake helps to make it even better. May you celebrate many, many more years.
Sincerely,
Luis Kōkyū"
“Wooow, lovely, seems like you’re getting more and more popular with each year, how does it feel, Ms. Miyuki, to be the most loved contestant in the whole D.R.B.?” Lola grinned while holding out an imaginary microphone to Sayaka who only laughed and bashfully pushed her hand away. “Oh stop it, Lola, that’s too much, I just simply treat people how I want to be treated, with kindness and respect, such things go a long way, y’know?”
“Yeah, I doubt Lola would know what those words would mean.” Kureha shot at Lola who only responded by sticking her tongue out at her best friend. “Oh hush, Ms. Anti-Social, at least I have more than 3 friends and won’t scream at the sight of sunlight.”
Kureha rolled her eyes. “Whatever, Freakoff Queen.”
“Girls, enough, it’s much too late for that.” Sayaka gently reprimanded both women who responded with half hearted apologies. Luckily, Yoshiko wasn’t listening in as the little girl was much too focused on the glittering cake in front of her, she reached up to tug Sayaka’s sleeve, “Mommyyyyy…” She looked up at her, smaller wide amber eyes clashing with bigger ones, immediately all three women knew what she was thinking and as much as Sayaka loved and cherished her baby girl even letting her get away with things more often than not, she knew that she had to firmly put on the mom hat and put her foot down.
The older brunette woman hoisted her daughter onto her lap and patted her head. “Sorry honey bunny but the party is officially over and you have school in the morning, it’s already way past your bedtime as it is.”
Immediately, Yoshiko deflated in her mother’s arms, slumping dejectedly against her, it was quite comical how she went from excited to disappointed in just a matter of seconds. “But mommy, please? With sprinkles on top?” She begged, even jutted out her bottom lip for good measure.
Lola bit her lip to keep from giggling and even Kureha cracked a smile, Sayaka wanted to grin too but she kept strong as she knew that if she did so right now, that would only give Yoshiko more motivation to keep pushing. “Nope and speaking of sprinkles, you’ve already had some and more today, both from the cake Kanra-chan gave us and from when we went to dinner and you had that ice cream sundae, I think you had enough sugar for today, sorry baby but now it’s time for you to get washed up and put to bed.”
Sayaka saw how sad Yoshiko was getting and booped her nose to make her feel better. “You’re a good girl, Yoshi, so I know you won’t fight me on this but I tell you what, how about I read a few chapters from your favorite book, would that make you feel better, hm?”
Yoshiko pouted and furrowed her brows, a clear sign to Sayaka that told her that she was thinking very hard on her offer before letting out a large puff of air and nodding. “Okay, but you have to do the voices! Auntie and Big sis too! It won’t sound the same!”
“I-“ Kureha went to protest but was cut off by Lola slapping her hand in front of her mouth, a large grin on her own face. “Of course we will, munchkin, as long as you listen to mama and don’t cause her no fuss.” The model beamed and Kureha glared daggers at her but made no move to remove the hand from her mouth.
“Yay! This is…” A yawn had cut Yoshiko off, it seemed like the excitement of celebrating her mama’s birthday had finally wore her down, she tiredly rubbed her eye as she continued. “This is gonna be awesome! I can’t wait to know what happens to the Queen and the knight and the magic lady!” She leaned her head on Sayaka’s shoulder as the older woman carried both herself and her daughter up the flight of stairs to the bathroom to get started on their nightly routine.
Sayaka chuckled and gave the side of her baby’s head a kiss. “Soon, my baby, soon.”
Thank you for the gift!

"can i trust you?", asked wazawai / @jinjahime
The momiji doesn't answer right away. In fact, her gaze turns to peer at the grey skies above. What a perfect backdrop for such a conversation. Grey, gloomy, the anticipation of rain and the tension of its descent upon the land. This conversation was inevitable. When Kaede arrived a few days ago with rumors from Karakura, she could sense it -- a hyakki yagyō was in the works. If it wasn't Wazawai, then it would've been another of the old guard to sway her back towards the hunt.
❝ Before I answer your question, allow me to ask my own. Why come all this way? You could have passed along a message to my daughter. And yet you made the journey here. ❞ It confuses her, even now. Wazawai has plenty of other things to attend to. Did he not trust Hitomi to seek her out? Or... did he believe even her own kin wouldn't be enough to change her mind?
Thunder roars loudly, grabbing her attention. Kureha doesn't need to see the lightning to acknowledge the warning. Tsubasa is in the area. The raijū is keeping his distance, but ready to strike the moment hostility arises. A chuckle escapes her lips. What an over-protective fool, believing himself strong enough to fight such an opponent. Amber eyes turn back to the commander, clasping her hands in front of her.
❝ You can trust me not to interfere. My loyalty to you has not wavered. If it's my sword you seek, however... you will leave here disappointed. My hunting days are over. ❞ Even if it doesn't show, melancholy fills her heart remembering the events that led to her isolation. ❝ I already lost one daughter, commander. Do not ask me to risk the other two. ❞

Okay, before I ask the question, I just want to tell you that your posts are the best, dude. Like, my fucking god, they make me feel so much better after a shitty day, so thank you for existing on here, genuinely. For the question, do you have a ranked top five list for favorite + least favorite Baki characters?
(Though, I think I can already tell who your number one in favorites is, lol ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟ)
BRO THANK YOU. ACTUALLY POWER TO YOU 💯 I'm glad my stupid goofy writings and posts are able to lighten people's day. Thank you.
Now to answer your question :D I kinda yapped so lemme put it under a cut
My number one? Guess. Guess who my number one is, guys. You'll never be able to get it. It's fine if you need a hint.
Okay, you got me it's Kiyosumi. Sigh. I love him. Sadly. Something about his character, personality and design just have me in a choke hold. He's just so neat. Not to mention how much I just relate to him as a person, it's quite strange, but I see some of myself in him. I don't particularly want to go into deep detail but something about him I really resonate with. He's funny. He will always be my top number one stunnaboy. I'm proud to be his number one fan.
My second favorite has always been Katsumi, he's just a goober. I'm in love with his character arc and his silly attitude and god do I want my face in between those breasts. But in all seriousness he's an amazing character and Itagaki's writing for him is immaculate, just objectively. He's one of the best written characters in the series, along with Retsu. (In my opinion, of course.) His recent blow up in popularity really surprised me, and made me a bit jealous, to be real. I dunno, I feel like people don't truly appreciate his writing, you know? Maybe it's just me.
See, now here's where I start to struggle. A lot of my favorite characters before those two, I can't really rank (I love them too much equally) But I will definitely list them!
I'm really enamored by Kozue, especially lately. One of my favorite types of characters are kind, cute girls who kinda just be silly but have some lowkey depth behind them. It's my absolute favorite. I've always been a fan of anime's/games where girls are just hanging out or having fun with each other, I love it. I'm always thinking about Kozue being in Bang dream or D4DJ, man.
Doyle...sigh. What a mess this guy is, but that's why he's up in my favorites. He gives me gender envy, even though, I'm already a guy. Maybe it's just his ability to rock both or his beauty, I don't know. But his character is absolutely stellar to me. Super interesting to write things for. He's so complex in my mind, he's just a joy to think about.
Doppo is definitely high up there on my list of favorites. He's absolutely hilarious and such a cool character. He's genuinely one of the most badass in the series to me. I love his hidden kindness and love for his kids (karate boys) and pupils. He's just incredible and MAD funny. Love him.
Kosho, this makes sense because he's basically gothic Kiyosumi. I mean not actually, I'm being funny, but you get the idea. They are definitely similar though. He's an incredible character, I love his sassiness and whole demeanor and not to mention his backstory and depth. Love this Vkei guy forever.
Ahh, Retsu, how I love you. His character is probably one of my favorite written in manga. The fact he's somewhat a mediator and very mature, but also immensely immature as well, doing things he knows aren't right to please himself cause he just loves FIGHTING. Ohhh, there's so much depth to him it's incredible. I just love this guy.
If I were to list my other favorites...
Atsushi, Chiharu, Oliva, Shibukawa, Tokugawa, Kureha, Spec, JEEZ do I love the characters in this manga. The list kind of goes on too. I just can't get enough of these guys.
It's very difficult for me to rank my least favorites since I really enjoy all of these characters, but one I really dislike is...Yujiro. Man, does that guy suck. For real. Okay but let me preface this by saying I think his written character is great, it's wonderful. But him, I hate. He's such a backwards piece of garbo. He's honestly one of the character's I think about the least.
Other than that, nobody else really comes to mind. Sorry I love these goober mcgoobersons too much. Itagaki, thank you as always.
Thank you for the question as well, bro.
