Portal 12 Days of Christmas Prompt List
Tumblr media
What's this? Portal Christmas prompts? Sort of. Taking inspiration from the time of year, the celebrations, and the song itself, I'd like to present to you the Portal 12 Days of Christmas prompt list!
I did a lot of research to find prompts in four categories: prompts inspired by the song itself, prompts inspired by the various feasts and celebrations, prompts inspired by the more mundane aspects of the holiday, and of course Portal-specific prompts inspired by the first three in various ways.
While the actual 12 days of Christmas start at the end of the month, that time of year is far too busy for this sort of thing so I felt it would be better to post it earlier in the month to give people ample time to participate if they so choose.
Testing doesn't stop, even during the holidays, so let's bring some Aperture-themed cheer!
Written list and guidelines under the cut.
The rules are simple.
There's absolutely no obligation to participate every day. Some people are more busy than others this time of year, so participate at your own pace and comfort level. If you aren't inspired by a day's prompts or end up too busy to keep going, that's totally fine! It's all for fun.
Any medium you want to use is fine, whether physical or digital. Sketches, writing, felt work, renders, completed art… whatever sort of inspiration you might get!
Let's use the tag 'Portal 12 Days of Christmas' to track posts. I'll try to reblog any participating posts I see.
Prompts: Day 1: Trees, Feasting, Party, The surface Day 2: Partners, Mercy, Shopping, Companion Cube Day 3: Foreign/ the unknown, Devotion, Wine/drinks, Wheatley Day 4: Birds, Children, Role Reversal, GLaDOS' crows Day 5: Rings, Argument, Work, Portals Day 6: Eggs, Protection, Breakfast, Chell Day 7: Swimming/sports, Authority, New Year's Eve, GLaDOS Day 8: Farms, Mothers, New Year's resolutions, Lying when nervous Day 9: Dancing, Doctors, Friends, Atlas and P-Body Day 10: Flight, Names, Travel/visiting, Repulsion gel Day 11: Music, Education, Reading, Turret opera/GLaDOS singing Day 12: Time, Stars, Holiday cleanup, Cake

Hello people of the Internet! So December is coming up and we all know 12 days of smut, I'm sure there's 12 days of fluff too but I wanted to write both in one fic but not in a "ooo aftercare blah blah blah" so I made my own fun challenge!
I present: 12 Days of Smuff
Tumblr media
Okay I say a "challenge" but really it's just a prompt idea like... Everything else XD
I wanted to write smut but fluff on one fic aka smuff (internet's term not mine.) It's really for those of you that wanna write smut AND fluff as a challenge but given nothing like I do. It's up to you if you want it to be in the same fic or choose between them, I made it to be in the same fic but up to you honestly.
Do not ask how I came up with the prompts, I grabbed prompts with numbers and had Google choose between 1-31 and it chose those.
For those who have not done "12 days of [blank]" you will start posting December 14th, once a day until Christmas day, which seems like Christmas will be Christmas away from home lmao or OR you can even mix up the order!!! Like seriously I just wanted to make my own and share it.
ANYWAYS
#12DaysOfSmuff will be the tag cuz I can actually make a tag now and that's it

8th day of christmas - gingerbread house
CW: Explicit Sexual Content
No Crying Over Spilled Icing (Elriel NSFW)
Tumblr media
Elain eyed the gingerbread house in front of her with something akin to misery. Only twenty minutes ago, when she had first taken the dough out of the oven, she had been immensely proud of herself – it had been baked to perfection, neither too dry nor too moist, with a beautiful golden-brown colouring and a smell so sweet Elain had fought herself not to eat the whole thing in one go.
Buttercream had been used to make intricate, delicate patterns on what would be the walls, as well as cute little tiles for the rooftop. Candies, too, had been used aplenty. It had looked promising. Beautiful even.
But that had been before she had realised one of the walls was cut too short – something Elain hadn’t noticed until she started setting everything together – giving the house a sort of crooked, haunted look that made it resemble more a Halloween decoration than a Solstice treat. The icing, of course, hadn’t helped either. The walls barely stuck together, and the rooftop was slowly falling to its demise. Elain watched it all unfold, unblinking.
A great architect Elain did not make.
When she had first told Feyre she’d be bringing her own gingerbread house – and not one of those sets the bakery sold every Solstice – she hadn’t been expecting a building made of dessert to be so damn infuriating. She was set to leave in an hour and a half, and she doubted she had the needed time to try it all over again. She doubted she could find the will to do it in the first place.
“What are you doing?” A deep voice startled her, her eyes finally turning away from the baked mess in front of her.
“A gingerbread house.” If it could be called that. It definitely didn’t look like one.
Azriel tilted his head, eyeing the house with a stoical expression. “Are those the ones from the bakery downtown?” His eyes flickered to hers. “Cassian had mentioned how he wanted to try and build one.”
Elain huffed, suddenly affronted. “Of course not.” Maybe she should have though.
He gave her a sheepish smile. “Right. Dumb question.” He narrowed his eyes, eyeing the eyesore with curiosity. “Why is it…slanted, though?”
“Well, first the icing melted,” She explained, hating the way her voice wavered. “And then the wall on the left was too short.” Azriel nodded along as if she was making perfect sense.  “And it smelled really good, so I might’ve eaten one of the windows and now it looks weird.” She dropped her eyes again. “By the cauldron, it’s barely salvageable.”
“Why not just take the side of the roof that’s slipping away? It could probably stand, even if it’d be a little crooked.”
She bristled. “Then it’ll be a gingerbread box.” He gave no indication whatsoever that this information alarmed him. “Az, no one wants to eat a gingerbread box.”
Azriel smirked. As if it were funny. “Calm down, princess.” He looked at the mess in front of them, going around the counter so he could stand by her side. “We can fix this.” He said, and Elain watched from the corner of her eyes as he came to stand right behind her instead, his arms going around her as he reached for the gingerbread in front of her.
“What are you doing?” She gasped.
“Why, helping you, of course.”
She highly doubted he was that innocent. His scent surrounded her, the heat from his body resting upon her skin as a gentle caress. It was all Elain could do to keep her eyes open, to follow his hands as he gently studied her creation. She could hear his steady breathing, quickly realising just how close he was to her. His lips were by her ear, his front pressing against her back every so often.
“Maybe we could do a tent instead?”
Elain frowned at the suggestion. It could work, even if it felt lazy to do so. She felt his hands on her hips, caressing her as she mumbled, “I suppose so.”
He seemed pleased by her quick acceptance, the feeling of his lips so faint against her skin, it was nearly unnoticeable. “Or just accept the defeat and do something else instead.”
Elain hadn’t realized she had closed her eyes, but at the sound of his lewd proposal, she snapped them open, promptly stepping closer to the counter and stepping away from him. “You’re distracting me.”
“Am I?” He stepped closer once again, pressing his nose against her neck, his lips a breath away from touching her fevered skin. “You smell good.”
Elain nearly whimpered “That’s just the gingerbread.”
He pressed his mouth against her shoulder, nibbling softly as if he couldn’t help but taste her. “I’m pretty sure it’s you.”
She turned around, ignoring her erratic breathing. “I still need to bake another batch-” She gasped as she felt his hands on her waist, raising her so she was sitting on the counter before she could finish her sentence. “Azriel, we don’t have enough time for that.” Truth be told, she was doing very little to push him away.
Azriel, of course, noticed that as well.
“I think we have more than enough time, princess.” He said, voice raspy as he stepped even closer. Elain wasn’t sure where her body ended and where his began, but as he kissed her jaw, the corner of her mouth, it felt like the most urgent thing that he stepped even closer.
Elain nearly whimpered as he pulled away, panting as he grabbed the hem of her skirts, pulling them up at an agonising speed.
Elain, however, wasn’t to be deterred. “Someone’s cocky.” She said, far too breathy for it to mean much.
He raised an eyebrow, scarred hands trailing up her legs. “Is that a challenge princess?”
Elain ignored the goosebumps raising all over her skin, ignored the craving that seemed to throb with her every heartbeat. “If you’re up for it.”
“Let’s find out, shall we?” A smirk was all the warning she got before Azriel pressed his face between her legs. Elain cried out, mindless with want. Her legs quickly wrapped around his shoulders, pressing him closer to her at the first touch of his tongue against her center. She was vaguely aware of leaning back on her hands, accidentally spilling what remained of the icing on the counter.
She couldn’t bring herself to care – she reached for his hair with her other hand, moaning as he devoured her. He moaned her name against her core as if he couldn’t get enough of her. He was a man starved, licking her, and fucking her with his tongue as if this was both the first and the last time he ever got to do this. The feeling of his large, scarred hands pulling her thighs apart, the scratch of his beard against her sensitive skin, it was all too much. Azriel had barely pushed a finger inside her before Elain was tumbling over the edge, his name on her lips as she bucked against his mouth over and over and over again.
“Sweetest fucking thing in the world.” He growled, more to himself than to her. He was panting, eyes dark as he took her in. She probably looked like a mess, panting, hands covered in icing, legs opened in a lewd display of her arousal. Elain felt herself blush under his scrutiny, but any embarrassment quickly faded as he took her mouth, his tongue seeking hers. “Turn around, princess.” He mumbled against her lips, helping her get down from the counter before lightly slapping her ass. “We’re on a schedule.”
Funnily enough, that was the furthest thing from her mind. Nothing mattered – not the party, not the spilled icing, not even the gingerbread house that had somehow ended up splattered on the kitchen floor. There was nothing but him. Not as he pushed inside her, his length stretching her as if it were their very first time together. Her every nerve-ending was on fire, her body craving him even as he filled her again and again. There were only the sounds he made as he rutted into her, the gentleness in his hands as he pulled her by her hair, the wantonness in the way he kissed her.
“You’re making such a mess, princess.” He panted against her ear, pulling down her corset, his hands quickly grabbing into her bare tits.
“Please.”
“Are you close?” Elain could do nothing but nod. He had barely pulled out of her when she was being turned around, her eyes quickly finding his as he pushed back inside in one swift move, as if he had never left. “I need to see you when you come.” And then he was wrapping her leg over his hip, filling her even deeper.
He wrapped his lips around her nipple, nibbling on the sensitive skin as his cock kept pounding into her. The feel of his mouth, of his cock… All Elain could do was scream out his name as she crashed, coming around his cock just as he spilled into her.
“Fuck.” He panted, hips still bucking against her.
Elain giggled, high on his touch. “Think I still have time to bake something?” She asked, shamelessly pressing her lips to his chest, his throat, his lips, taking them between her teeth and pulling gently. He hissed.
“Not if you keep doing that.” His gaze roved over her before finally settling on her eyes with a mischievous glint. “And I don’t think that gingerbread cake is salvageable anymore.”
Elain supposed not, but she wasn’t a quitter.
In no time – and with a lot of effort – Elain was kicking Azriel out of the kitchen, scrubbing every nook and cranny of the counter and busying herself with something else. Something quick that wouldn’t raise any eyebrows.
Or so she had hoped.
“Where’s the gingerbread house?” Feyre asked only a few minutes later, eyeing the plain gingerbread cookies Elain had managed to bake in the measly thirty minutes she had been left with. Azriel, at Feyre’s question, gave Elain a heated stare, a smirk blooming on his lips as he casually strolled into the living room without a care in the world. Elain felt her cheeks heat up, pointedly ignoring her sister’s knowing smile. “Had a change of heart?”
Elain cleared her throat, squaring her shoulders as she made her way to the kitchen. “Sure,” she said. “let’s call it that.”

The Perfect Tree
The holiday season was a time (Y/N) was known to go overboard. Even as a child when her family did not have much, they always did their absolute best to give their children a Christmas to remember. She only had happy memories and overspilling excitedness when it came to this time.
And after all the wars, fights, aliens, and gods she had battled against alongside the Avengers, she celebrated it as much as she could. (Y/N) couldn’t take for granted the fact that she was alive, as was her boyfriend, Bucky Barnes.
Thanks to her, the ex-assassin was learning how magical the holidays could be. After so many tears lost to his brainwashing, he had to learn once more how Christmas could fill an individual with so much joy. A sort of happiness Bucky did not believe he would ever experience – much less with someone by his side.
But simply being able to witness the gleaming brightness that filled (Y/N)’s face when this time of the year rolled around. It was a beautiful sight to behold and one he looked forward to seeing for years and years to come.
This would barely be their first Christmas, but it would be the first one they shared as a couple, and in Delacroix, Louisiana. Still, there were traditions that had already been instated. The most important? Picking out the tree.
The perfect tree.
It was a long process in itself and could take from hours to days. (Y/N) would stride from tree farm to tree farm opening and fluffing out trees, measuring and visualizing how it would look in the living room of their small but tall cottage. She would peruse row by row of pine trees with laser focus, only one goal in mind.
That day it had been day three of driving to tree farms in search of Mr. Right, and though Bucky saw no difference between any of the trees they had left behind – and helped others choose – he was happy to trail behind (Y/N) as she pointed out what made each tree a reject for her.
“It’s too fat and not tall enough,” she said about one.
“The only thing that makes this tree eight feet is the long end it has,” she said about another.
“This one look like it was stuck together with glue,” she sighed as she opened up another failure of a tree. “Not good enough.”
Without another care, she left the tree propped on the fence it had been and kept walking. With a chuckle, Bucky helped the attendant to close it back up. Just as he had done with the other six trees (Y/N) had opened, disliked, and left in its spot.
“Buck!” she excitedly called out. “Need your help over here!”
“Excuse me,” he smiled to the attendant and left to find the stranded (Y/N) in the sea of trees. “What do you need, doll?”
“That one, in the back,” she beamed. “I think that’s our guy.”
“How can you tell?” Bucky chuckled in amusement. “It’s completely wrapped and barely in sight.”
“Oh, you silly old man. I just know,” (Y/N) grinned at the man. “Now pull it out, I need to open it!”
Following another hearty chuckle, Bucky entered the tightly packed rows of trees and grabbed the Douglas fir (Y/N) had so delightedly pointed out. Carefully, he set it down in front of the woman, holding it firmly as she used her blade to cut into the orange net that held its branches together.
In one quick swoop, the tree sprouted from the plastic that held it together and presented itself in all its splendor. It was tall enough, it was full enough, it was firm enough – the perfect tree. (Y/N) could already see it dressed in its lights and decorations, standing proudly in the corner of their living room, right in front of their front windows.
“Isn’t it perfect, Buck?” It was a rhetorical question. They both knew the only opinion that mattered was hers. “This is it, darling. Let’s wrap it up and take it home.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he lovingly answered before taking the massive tree to the attendant.
“Finally found the one I see,” the young man said with amusement filling his words. He had watched in astonishment as (Y/N) opened up trees and inspected every inch before discarding it. “Three families have taken trees they saw her opening up. She’s got the special touch, huh?”
“You’re asking or telling me?” Bucky joked. “I’m just glad the search is finally over. Believe it or not, this is our third day searching for a tree. This is basically a sport for her.”
Inside their truck, (Y/N) sat with a childish grin on her face. She could hardly wait to get home and start decorating the tree. Since the rest of the house was decorated, all she was waiting for was to find the perfect tree to add the finishing touch. They were hosting a small get-together with Sam, Sarah, and her kids, and she wanted everything to be perfect.
She loved being able to share her love for the Christmas time. Especially for Bucky. She wanted this time to become something he could look forward to every year. His life had been filled with so much pain and turmoil that she wanted to be able to give him at least a month where all they would feel was happiness. A month where he could put his inner battles aside and enjoy the beauty and magic of the holidays.
“Ready to head home?” Bucky said as he duck into the driver’s side of the truck. “We got a huge bad boy back there.”
“I am so ready,” she smiled.
The ride back to their home was short. At least for (Y/N) who had dozed off almost as soon as the engine on the truck roared to life. Yet once her eyes opened and she processed that she was back home, all tiredness left her body and a surge of energy rushed through her.
“Okay, (Y/N),” Bucky called her attention. “I’m gonna run inside really quick and use the bathroom, and then I’ll grab the tree. Don’t do it by yourself, alright?”
“Sure, sure,” she quickly dismissed him, not really listening to what he was saying.
She was impatient, to say the least. Only thirty seconds had passed and she was already disregarding Bucky’s words and pulling out of the truck bed. It had been thirty seconds too long in her opinion.
(Y/N) did her best to grab hold of the tree, pulling it up the front steps to their porch, to try her best to pull it through the door. She was strong, that she was sure of. Years and years of training had her body in peak condition, but she definitely did not have superhuman strength. And the eight-foot tree required that type of inhuman strength.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Bucky laughed as he was met with the sight of his girlfriend stuck in the doorframe behind a tree that would definitely never fit upright through the door. “I thought I told you to wait for me.”
“You took far too long in there,” she said between strangled breaths.
“I wasn’t even in there for more than three minutes.”
“And that was too long.”
“I’ll take that into account,” he chuckled as he made his way closer to the barricaded door. “You do know that the tree…”
“Yes. I know it’s a six-foot door and this is an eight-foot tree,” she interrupted. “But I’m not asking for advice. I need help. So, stop just standing there and help me get this into the house.”
“Alright, hold on a sec.”
Bucky exited through the back door, then the side gate, and met up with (Y/N) at the front porch. He was trying his best to hold in the boastful laughter that was threatening to escape him as he saw her sprawled against the leaning tree, trying with everything she had to keep it steady. Patience had never been a virtue she beheld.
“Okay, doll, you can step aside now,” Bucky announced after he got his arms around the tree. “Now step to the side. I don’t want you getting hurt.”
He put the tree on its side and brought it easily through the door. Bucky made it seem as if the tree weighed no more than a piece of paper. Not even breaking a sweat in the process. Once inside, he placed it on the base and adjusted the trunk.
“You don’t have to show off, you know?” (Y/N) said as she walked easily through the door that had been blocked a second before. “No one likes a show-off.”
“Oh, come on, doll,” he chuckled. “We both knew that getting this tree through the door by yourself would not be an easy fit. But luckily you have this hunk of a man to help you.”
“Anyone could do it if they had a bionic arm and super soldier serum running through their veins,” she pouted. “I could’ve had this tree inside and mounted by the time you exited the bathroom.”
“I am completely certain of that,” he smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist, her folded arms leaving space between them. “But what would I be good for then?”
“I guess you’re right,” (Y/N) grinned. She unfurled her arms and wrapped them around his neck. “Luckily, I’ve got you by my side so I don’t have to worry about heavy things. Right?”
“You are completely right.”
Bucky lowered his head and placed a soft kiss on her lips, bringing her body close to hers in a tight embrace. It was warm and comfortable — the feeling of being home. There was a sense of belonging right there in the other's arms. It was a tenderness they had forgotten about due to their job. They saw so much evil in the world, that this type of love was their only safe haven.
“Well then, I love you, Buck. But I need to get to work,” she said as she broke her embrace.
But Bucky didn’t let go just yet. He grabbed her by the wrist and twirled (Y/N) until her back was pressed to him, his head nuzzling into her neck.
“One more minute, doll,” he sighed contentedly. “Please.”
“Bucky, darling,” she sighed into the embrace. “I have too much to do right now. I need to decorate the tree, bake the pies, prep the food for tomorrow night, and only a few hours to do it all.”
“We can skip all of that and just go to bed.”
“Sam and Sarah are coming over tomorrow. This has been on the calendar for a really long time and there’s so much to get done,” she reminded him. “As much as I would love to cuddle up on the sofa and leave everything for tomorrow, I simply can’t.”
“Oh, but how wonderful does it sound.”
“Bucky…”
“Just for a little bit?”
“If I let you rope me in for a little bit, I know I’ll end up falling asleep. So, no.”
Finally, with a groan, Bucky let go of (Y/N) and plopped himself on the sofa while he watched as the girl glided from box to box, decorating the bare tree. As the minutes trickled by, he was able to witness how she transformed a basic tree into the center of attention of the whole room.
A truly beautiful sight, Bucky thought. (Y/N)’s concentration face, her little hums of disapproval, or her chirps of glee when she finally liked how the combination was coming along. It made him fall more and more in love with her. These small moments no one else got to see but him, and it made them even more special.
It was nearing three in the morning when (Y/N) felt she was almost done with the tree. It was a beautiful medley of twinkling lights, colorful bulbs, and carefully shaped glittering mesh. Straight out of a magazine, she thought to herself. But one thing was still missing.
On the couch, a snoring Bucky caught her attention. He had tried to keep himself awake whilst (Y/N) worked. If she was awake, he wanted to be awake too. But near midnight sleep overtook him and his eyes fluttered closed, his head falling back onto the couch.
“Bucky,” she whispered, softly shaking him. “Bucky, darling, wake up.”
With a sharp intake of breath, Bucky woke up. He rubbed the sleep off his eyes, squeezing them shut to push the sleepiness away. When his eyes finally opened, the tree he had seen halfway done was now complete.
“I need your help with the tree, Buck,” (Y/N) caught his attention once more.
“For what? It looks done to me.”
“It’s missing the most important part,” she said matter-of-factly. “The star. I can’t reach.”
“Why don’t you just use the step ladder you’ve been using?”
“Because I want to do it with you, Buck,” she laughed. “I thought it would be something cute and christmasy we could do together. But it’s fine if you don’t want to.”
As she started to walk away, a mask of fake disappointment on her face, Bucky stood and pulled her by the waist. She let out a shriek of laughter as he lifted her from the ground and twirled her around.
“Nothing would make me happier than putting up the star on top of the tree with you, doll.”
“You should have said so the first time,” she smiled. “Now, lift me.”
Bucky bent down as he chuckled and wrapped his arms around (Y/N)’s knees, lifting her toward the top of the tree. She placed the light-up star as a pleased smile spread through her face.
“Perfect,” she yawned.
“Almost as perfect as you, beautiful,” Bucky boasted. “Everything looks great, doll. How about we finally turn in for the night and we can finish up tomorrow?”
“Best idea you’ve had today,” she chuckled. “Carry me to bed. I’m tired.”
“Sounds like a plan,” he smiled. “Hop on.”
They lay in bed, (Y/N)’s head pressed to Bucky’s chest, his left arm drawing comforting circles on her back. The soft hum of their breaths and the thumping of his heart were lulling the girl to sleep, the exhaustion from running around for three days finding a tree and decorating finally catching up to her. She was tired, her body was sore, and she needed a whole day of sleep.
But by ten in the morning, she was already up and working around the house. She started by taking the turkey they would be eating out of the fridge to warm off the cold. Then, she put away all the unused decorations and packed them away in the shed in the backyard.  After, she started prepping the dough for the pie she was going to bake. Finally, she started sweeping the floor.
So, by the time Bucky woke up in bed by himself, (Y/N) had already done the majority of the work by herself. And it was only two thirty.
“Why didn’t you wait for me, doll?” Bucky asked groggily. “I was gonna help you clean up.”
“You looked so peaceful when you were asleep, so I just let you keep sleeping.”
“But I didn’t want you to do this all by yourself.”
“It’s fine,” she smiled at him. “I’m almost done.”
“Have you eaten anything?”
“Not yet.”
“Then I’m making some food. You go sit down for a sec.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice.”
She sat down on the kitchen island and watched as Bucky prepared two sandwiches. In moments like this, (Y/N) and Bucky were able to forget their past and enjoy domestic bliss. In these seconds, they were simply a couple enjoying a quiet afternoon and preparing lunch. Not an ex-assassin and a former Shield agent.
Bucky placed two plates on the island, taking a seat next to (Y/N). They enjoyed the peaceful silence. The sound of the birds chirping outside the window, the distant roaring of the waves, and the whistling of the cold wind. It was serene — everything they had dreamed of and more. It was their home.
“Is there anything I can help with now that I am awake and we are both fed?” Bucky asked after he put the plates in the sink, tucking a stray strand of hair behind (Y/N)’ ear. “Although I’m sure everything is just about done.”
“You can help me by setting up the dining table whilst I put the turkey and the pie into the oven.”
“Is it apple pie?” he excitedly asked.
“How could I not make your favorite?”
“You really are the best,” Bucky grinned.
“I know,” she chuckled placing a kiss on his lips. “So are you.”
Three hours went by in the blink of an eye as they got ready and added the finishing touches to the house. Music was playing, the turkey and the pie filled the air with a delicious aroma, and the place was lit up by the dimmed twinkling Christmas lights. By the time Sam, Sarah, and the kids got there, everything was perfect.
“You were not lying man,” Sam laughed. “(Y/N) really does go all out.”
“Why would I ever lie about that?” Bucky chuckled as he gave his friend a hug.
“It all looks beautiful, (Y/N),” Sarah added. “The kids have not been able to stop staring since we parked up in front.”
“Thank you very much, Sarah,” she smiled. “And thank you for making the mashed potatoes.”
“Well, it’s the least I could do since you insisted on doing everything else. We also brought a lemon meringue pie.”
“That sounds so good!” (Y/N) took hold of the trays and placed them on the island before turning her attention back to the guests. “Well, I’m sure we’re all hungry so why don’t we go ahead and serve dinner? Cause I know that AJ and Cass are very excited to open their presents after. Or maybe I’m wrong?”
“YES!!” Both of the kids chorused as they finally noticed the wrapped gifts that littered the bottom of the tree. “Let’s eat!”
In the midst of a shared laugh, the adults headed to the kitchen to serve the plates as the kid waited anxiously to devour their food. Because presents would always trump a good dinner.
They all sat around the table, their plates filled with warm food and lively chatter filling the air. A common feeling spread through the room. Being engulfed by the warmth of family was a sensation like no other. It was a type of happiness they all hadn’t felt in a long time, and they so desperately needed it.
Once their plates were empty and their bellies full, the group moved to the living room. The kids were quick to sit on the floor, waiting patiently to be told which present was for whom. (Y/N) stood by them, laughing and pointing out present by present which one was for AJ and which one was for Cass. Sarah took out her phone and made sure to take a picture of each kid with every single one of the gifts. Meanwhile, Sam and Bucky stood farther away with a glass of whiskey in their hands.
“I guess those three days were worth it, huh,” Sam chuckled as they stood watching the kids opening the presents. “It really looks amazing.”
“Yeah,” Bucky smiled as (Y/N) turned to smile at him. “And I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
And they knew that he was not just talking about the tree, but his future life with (Y/N).

Hello, hello, all you holly jolly people! It is the first day of my “12 Days of Prompts” event and we're starting off with something a little scary.
Every Christmas season there are two horror movies that my family and I watch over and over again. The first one as you can call see is “Krampus” and the second you’ll see later on!
Krampus is by far one of my favorite Christmas movies, I know that sounds strange, but it’s the truth. I love the monster designs, how the characters a portrayed, and how it still feels more like a Christmas movie than a horror movie, even during some of the actual horror parts. Plus, I like that it doesn’t try and take itself too seriously.
So if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it!
Like always if you do use these prompts please tag me so I can see what you’ve made!
I hope you all stay blessed and safe throughout your day.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays: Celia ❤💚❄⛄🎄
Tumblr media
“It started with the wind, on a cold night, much like this,” - “It's Christmas. Nothing bad is going to happen on Christmas!” - "That's what a family is, baby. People you try to be friends with, even when you don't have a lot in common,” - “You're not thinking of going after that snowplow alone, are you?” “A Shepherd's gotta protect his flock,” - “It's the blizzard, honey, nothing's working right now,” - “They can see dust specks on Mars, but no one noticed a giant blizzard hurtling towards us,” “Well, as soon as the power's back, you can write an angry e-mail to the National Weather Service,” - “I would just be calmer if I knew how we were gonna survive Christmas with 12 people stuck in a house with no hot water, no heat, and no electricity,” - “You know, she and I, we butt heads, but I can't imagine life without her,” Yeah, I know what you mean,” _ “And that night, in the darkness of a howling blizzard… I got my wish,” “Oh, lay off of him! The kid deserves a prize for telling the truth!” - “It's just a scratch,” “Oh, my gosh,” “It looks like something bit you.” “Nope! Probably a bear trap under the snow or something,” “We don't have bears here,” - “Dear Santa, I know I haven't been great this year and I'm sorry for that, but I was really hoping you could help out me and my family this Christmas,” - “So, where’s the nog? I need to get merry,” - “Come on, kids, I'm gonna teach you how to make peppermint schnapps,” - "A little sugar, a little spice, makes everything nice." - "I haven't been this hungover since the Pope died." - “But Krampus didn't take me that night… He left me, as a reminder of what happens when hope is lost, when belief is forgotten… and the Christmas spirit dies,” - “They too had given up. And eventually, so did I,” - “What’s she saying?” “This… This is all our fault… he’s come for us all... He?” - “And for the first time, I didn't wish for a miracle, I wished for them to go away… a wish I would come to regret,” - “I'm old enough to know when life is coming at me with its pants down,” - "Listen, why don't we just leave? Right? We can all pile in the truck and we'll just see as far as we can get, and we can pick up-” “The truck's gone,” - “And I just wanna say I’m sorry for… thinking you’re such a spineless dick all these years,” - “Poor bastard must have sailed clear through,” “Looks more like the opposite,” “What’d you mean?” “The glass is punched in,” - “Don't suppose you got me a backup generator for Christmas, did you?” “Yeah, it's under the tree next to your ties and underwear,” - “Blah blah blah. Bullshit, bullshit. Ah, here we go, the wishlist!” - “Enough with the sappy crap, let's open up the damn presents,” - “See? Let them out of your sight for one second, and boom, shotgun wedding,” “Can you not, please,” “Well, you ought to know,” - “What did you see up there?” “You don't wanna know, sweetheart,” "Honey, I just got my ass kicked by a bunch of Christmas cookies, so trust me when I tell you I can take it!" - “It's not starting! It's not starting! Why isn't it starting!?”
“I think our best bet is to stay put, board up all the doors and windows, and as soon as the weather breaks, we'll go find her,”
“Hey, asshole! I take back my wish, I take it all back! Give me back my family!” - “I, um-- I just wanna say thanks for, uh, you know, saving my ass back there,” - “Twisted fairytale horseshit!!” - "I've hunted a lot of game in my day, those are hooves. Big ones too. Could be an elk or a goat,” What kind of goat walks on its hind legs? - “How much ammo do you have?” “A couple shells still loaded, maybe a dozen in my pocket. Why?” - “What? “She said we're screwed,” - “They had forgotten the spirit of Christmas, the sacrifice of giving. And my family was no different,” - “And as he had for thousands of years, Krampus came not to reward, but to punish, not to give, but to take,” - “I tried to help them to believe again, but we were no longer the loving family I remembered,” - “I knew Saint Nicholas was not coming this year. Instead, it was a much darker, more ancient spirit. The shadow of Saint Nicholas. It was Krampus,” - “I just wanted Christmas to be like it used to be, but forget it! I hate Christmas! I hate all of you!” - “Evil Santa? She’ll be yammering about a rabid Easter Bunny come Spring,” - “What are we gonna tell the kids?” “I don't know. The truth?” “Sure, which version of it?” - “Yeah, well, you know-- she always gets a little weird around Christmas,” - “Baby, please don't do this, listen, we can figure something else out,” “This is how I figure things out,” - “You had mom's angel this whole time?” “Yeah, I thought you knew,” “No,” - “It was almost Christmas, but this Christmas was darker, less cheerful. But I still believed in Santa, in magic and miracles, and the hope that we could find joy again,” - “I'm sorry, I just wanted Christmas to be like it used to be,” - “Our village had given up on miracles, and on each other,” - “Remember we used to fight over who got to place her?” “Yeah, you fought dirty, I still have the scars,” “Where do you think my girls get it from?” - “I don't like this,” “Whoever did this is a demented son of a bitch,” - “Come on, come on, please,” “I'm trying! I don't even know how to drive a stick! We have a hybrid! - “The snowplow?” “The keys were in the ignition-” “And it was beat to hell!’ “But if it runs, I drive it back here, and then everyone piles in the car and follows while I clear a path in front of us,” “And go where?” “The mall doubles as an emergency shelter, and if it's empty, we'll try the police station,” “And what if they're gone too?” “Then we keep driving till we see lights or people, plowed road, somewhere safe for the kids,” “And then we bring help back here,” - “I think it's panicking, trying to get outside,” “Well, we boarded everything up,” - “What are you doing? We've got four other kids here to protect,” - “It's not what you do, it's what you believe, and what you've given up," - “I think all this might be my fault,” - “What are we gonna do now?” “We keep the fire hot,” - “Oh, hey, there you are! Hey, kiddo. we thought the sugarplum fairies may have gotten you,” - “Everybody, hold on to each other,” - “Be good,” - “Wow, what's this all about?” “It's nothing just… merry Christmas,” “Merry Christmas to you too, baby,”

Christmas Prompts 23' Day 12 Home for Christmas
AO3
“Do we have everything?”  She looks around at the packed luggage.

He smiles. “Aye, and everyone.” They are heading home, to Lallybroch, for the holidays.

It isn’t easy traveling with three bairns, the youngest being just a few months old.  Brianna is cradled in her daddy’s arms. Fergus and Faith, at four and two, are bouncing around excited about seeing their grandparents, auntie, uncle, and cousins.

“Alright, then let’s load up the car.”

He hands Bree to her mama. Fergus manly tries to help him lift the luggage. They get it loaded in the boot. The excited children are strapped in and they are own their way.

Car sickness, icky diapers, fighting siblings, and a hundred, ‘ are we there yet’ later, and they pull under the arches that leads to his ancestral home. Claire falls into the arms of her mother -in-law. Jamie hugs his dad and the children are made a fuss over.

It is worth everything. They are home for Christmas.

11th day of christmas - Secret Santa
On pretty daggers & ambigous flowers - Elriel
Tumblr media
When Feyre had first announced they’d be doing a Secret Santa, Azriel had been less than pleased. He was a busy man, not to mention his skills for gift-giving left much to be desired. It wasn’t that he was terrible at it, but he wasn’t good at it either. In fact, the very thought of having to give something to someone nearly sent him spiralling.
He loved his sister-in-law to bits, but truth be told, her ideas rarely did him any good.
His apprehension only seemed to grow as Feyre went on to explain how Secret Santa worked and when it would take place (entirely too soon). Azriel, for his part, could only pray to the mother in hopes that he’d get Cassian. To his brother, at least, he would know what to give. There was some kind of sugary almond treats from Adriata he often moaned about and rarely ate – mainly because he had gotten himself banned from the Summer Court. Azriel could easily drop by Adriata before his next assignment. It’d be easy enough.
Fate, naturally, had other plans.
Azriel blinked down at the piece of parchment he had retrieved from Feyre’s knitted beanie. Then he blinked at his sister-in-law, who was looking at him with entirely too much curiosity on her face. Azriel nodded once, not letting a thing show on his face as he leaned against the wall. He said nothing, did nothing, knowing too well everyone around the room was watching him, waiting for a single clue of who he’d gotten. Azriel just stared ahead blankly, trying not to smirk as both Feyre and Mor grumbled things under their breaths he wasn’t supposed to hear.
He tucked his hand inside the pocket of his leather pants, clenching it around the parchment as if it had personally wounded him. Inside his chest, his heart galloped, sending waves of fire through his body at every unsteady beat. His hearing, too, seemed to grow muted as he looked around the living room, watching his family share secret smiles and an excitement he couldn’t feel.
His past haunted him as loudly as the name tucked away inside his pocket. Only one year ago, a measly gift had nearly undone them before his eyes. What else could he do now but to give it his all? He’d travel across the courts. He’d search every shop, every market, every fair. He wasn’t to be deterred.
One thing was for certain: there was nothing easy about this gift.
⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆
When Azriel walked into the River House exactly two weeks later, he wasn’t feeling more confident in his gift than he had at first. The package weighed close to nothing in his hand, but the concern in his chest seemed to drag him down as he me made his way towards the living room, where everyone was already chatting, eating, and drinking. Azriel silently made his towards the table, serving himself a cup of mead.
His presence, however, didn’t go unnoticed for long. Soon, Feyre was wrapping her arms around him, wishing him a Happy Solstice. Her rosy cheeks and wine-stained lips told him enough, as did Cassian’s slurry greeting. Those two had been drinking for hours already – as had Mor, if the way she announced Amren was her Secret Santa was any indication. Feyre, for one, wasn’t impressed, but there was little she could do when everyone took the hint and started handing out their gifts.
Azriel was grateful for the temporary chaos, his eyes scanning the room for-
“Happy Solstice, Az.” An all-too familiar voice sounded from his left, and Azriel smiled softly as he turned to find Elain staring up at him, her hands behind her back. His name on her lips was a taunt, a flurry of secrets in two syllables alone.
“Happy Solstice, Elain.” He made sure to say her name, entranced by the way her cheeks seemed to darken under his stare. Before he could do something he definitely shouldn’t do – like kiss her or throw her over his shoulder and carry her back to the Town House – Azriel handed her the package in his hand. Elain stared at the plain brown wrapping paper, blinking as her pretty lips rounded into a surprised O.
She smiled sheepishly. “You got me?” She asked, leaning a bit closer. “Or is this a repeat-”
Azriel cleared his voice, embarrassment rushing to his face. “I got you.”
He thought he saw her fight a smirk. “Right.” She said under her breath, gently opening up the gift in her hands. She eyed the leather box, her eyes flickering to Azriel as something secret seemed to charge between them. Azriel glanced at the room beyond them, happy to see everyone to drunk or too distracted to pay them any mind. “Oh.” Elain’s gasp quickly grabbed his attention again, and when he turned to look at her she was holding a dagger in her hands.
The hilt was compact emerald glass, its quillon decorated with flowers made of colourful stones. A gold, damascened inscribed blade made of the strongest yet lightest metal he could find, slightly curved to the left as if to sustain more damaged if she learned how to use it. And he’d make sure she learned. The scabbard set was leather decorated in fine, silvery thread that depicted flower after flower - the very same ones that dotted her garden in the Town House. And then, so tiny you could barely notice it, one pair of bat wings. A secret message just for her - one she quickly recognised, widening her eyes and smiling widely.
It was beautiful as it was practical – something he thought she could come to appreciate, even if she had never asked for another blade after stabbing the King of Hybern in the neck.
“I wasn’t sure if you’d like it.” He muttered, watching her closely for a glimpse of a reaction. There was nothing on her pretty face as she stared at the dagger in her hands. “I thought maybe I could give you some lessons on how to use it.” Elain’s eyes flickered to him at that. “You can use it for gardening if you prefer to do so, of course. I just thought you’d like to learn how to yield it.”
Her lips tugged up. “Did I do so badly the last time around?”
Not in the slightest. That moment alone had saved his brother’s life, and for that alone, Azriel would always be in awe of the woman in front of him. Still, uncapable of not challenging her, he said, “There’s room for improvement.”
Elain hummed, smirking softly as she tilted her head to the side.
“You hated it.” He said indifferently, even if he felt everything but. His chest was close to collapsing on itself. He was glad there were people around them; gladder still that they paid them no mind.
Elain chuckled softly, her soft hand wrapping around the hilt of the dagger. Trying it. Assessing it. Feeling it. “I love it.” She said in disbelief, eyes flickering up to him. “I’d appreciate your lessons.” She glanced at the living room, clearing her throat, and standing a bit straighter as her gaze turned to his. “To improve, of course.”
Azriel smirked, not bothering to see who watched them. His bet was on Feyre. “Of course.”
“Well,” She reached for the table behind her, handing him a perfectly wrapped package – decorated with a sprig of mistletoe and a pretty, rope bow. “This is for you.”
He raised an eyebrow. “You’re my Secret Santa?”
Elain shrugged, hiding her hands behind her back once again. “Maybe there’s someone looking out for us.”
“Did you ask Feyre to pair us together?” Azriel tilted his head every so slightly. In front of everyone else, is what he didn’t need to add.
“I hardly think Feyre needs further motivation on that end.” She smiled serenely, shaking her head. "But I surely don't mind it."
Azriel shook his head, fighting off the smirk that threatened to break free. He opened the bag in his hands, reaching inside with entirely too much caution, only to pull back a small, cotton sack. Inside, unfamiliar seeds stared back at him. Azriel looked at the woman in front of him, raising his eyebrows in question.
Elain merely smiled. “You seem to enjoy spending time in the garden,” Her eyes glinted under the candlelight surrounding them. “It must be tedious to spend so much time doing so little.” The teasing in her voice would be obvious to no one other than him, something that thrilled him entirely too much.
Azriel didn’t dare say anything, not as he kept staring at the seeds in his hand. The tag read gardenia jasminoides. Gardenias – the very same flowers that had surrounded Elain and Azriel when he last had his head between her legs. He turned to her, unable to keep the smile off his face. The room in front of them was but a mirage, far from something they should be worried about.
She smiled expectantly. “What do you think?”
“I think you’re fucking amazing at this Secret Santa thing.”
“Yeah?” She grinned. “You should see the gift I have for you at the Town House.”
Azriel couldn't help but groan this time around, his imagination running wild. He quickly glanced at the living room before asking, “Tonight?”
Elain simply smirked, starting to step away when she turned around, a saucy smile on her lips. “Bring the mistletoe.” And then she was sauntering off to the desert table without another word. Azriel smiled, his eyes never leaving her form as she reached Nesta, looking at whatever book Rhysand had begrudgingly offered her. He looked down at the gardenia seeds, just as Elain felt for the sheathed dagger in her hand, eyeing her gift with awe.
Neither seemed to notice their High Lady watching them with a pleased smile on her face.
