I’ll be honest, life as a long term sub has been exhausting. if I’m not at school, I’m planning lessons. if I’m not planning lessons, I’m researching classroom management tips or entering grades. even when I’m trying to relax, I’m thinking about my students! needless to say, it feels like a full time job. but I persevere!!

wall bars

Imagine a wall bar.

At the top,

flowers and sunlight with no end.

At the bottom,

nothing but darkness.

You slowly start to climb down,

to the bottom.

But then you fall down.

You fall on cement

and break all your bones.

It hurts like hell,

but you decide to climb up again.

Because the light heals your bones,

the pain goes away

and it becomes easier to climb up.

But then,

you fall again

and everything starts again.

Your bones break,

the pain gets worse

and it makes it difficult to climb up the wall bars. 

But you gather all your strength and

start to climb.

The light heals your bones

and it’s easier to climb.

But then you fall again.

You can’t escape the cycle.

But you don’t stop to climb up,

no matter how often you fall,

because it’s better to have healed bones

and less pain, for a short time,

then to sit on the ground

crying in pain 

for the rest of your life.

You need to climb up to the light,

to get your bones healed.
