Margret Blackwell grew up only knowing the love and loyalty of her parents and her siblings, always protecting her family and standing by them, no matter what would happen. The first Blackwell child had no inkling that she wasn’t a Blackwell by blood, never treated differently from her brothers and sister, she grew up surrounded by love and happiness. It was a childhood that, even now, she cherished and loved. She’d never change a thing about the way she grew up, to her, it was one of the most treasured parts of her long life. As she got older, she began to take on the responsibilities of being an older sister, despite the fact that Noah too would take on this responsibility as the eldest son. Always on the lookout for her younger siblings, Maggie always reverted back to and remembered what they were raised to do, to protect each other, no matter what.

As she aged into adulthood, she began to receive offers of marriage, soon finding herself married to a man a little bit older than she was. It was a marriage of convenience rather than love like others dreamt of, but she was content and over time they became friends, grew to love each other in a way that made them both happy. Ever since she was a child, she dreamt of the day that she would have children of her own, a family of her own, and she was desperate to start a family with her husband. However, months turned into years with no sign of children… until one day she was blessed. She was overjoyed in her pregnancy and reveled at the moment that brought her and her husband closer together strengthened their bond forged over many years of marriage. She felt complete, able to join her siblings in parenthood, something she’d dreamt of.

It wasn’t to last, however, and she soon found her world came crashing down. A coven of dark witches arriving in the village, claiming that they had come to take back their daughter. To take back her. The revelation that she wasn’t a Blackwell by blood broke her internally, the fear that she would be rejected by her siblings taking over. But they didn’t. As was their motto, love and protect each other kicked in and she realized that no matter what, this was her family. She stood by them, the Blackwells, refusing to join those that claimed she belonged to them. She was and always would be a Blackwell. They were family. Yet, the outcome was nothing that they expected.

The revenge of her birth family was excruciating, the curse cast over them causing her to lose her unborn child, to lash out in her bloodlust and kill her husband. Yet the heaviest weight of all was the fact that each of her siblings, in turn, were cursed like her. She felt even more responsible for them, the guilt that she felt becoming woven into her very DNA. So much loss became too much to cope, and she took off on her own at first, switching off the pain as much as she could. She traveled to a small village far enough away that she could try and regain some sense of control in her powers, causing destruction and chaos in her wake. Years passed before she would return to her siblings, deciding that if they were to be doomed for eternity, they should be doomed together. Like they’d always said.

They were invincible, creatures of darkness and chaos, bound by blood and magic, and something far stronger: love, a need to protect each other. They became everyone’s worst fear, a nightmare. Until, the creation of the werewolves. Natural born enemies, she watched her sister form an army, her brothers reveled in the joy of destroying any wolves they could, all the while her own thoughts drifted on how best to protect them from the only true threat that they had: the Greyson family. Over time it became more than a need to survive, it became an added responsibility. It was because of her, after all, that they were in this situation. She spent her days wondering how things would be different if she had just gone with the witches that fateful night.

War against the werewolves became second nature, a natural and needed act in Maggie’s eyes, and where she would fight for survival against them, she spent the rest of her time protecting others. She did what she could in each human war, each battle, fighting alongside humans and her siblings alike. She couldn’t change what she did, but she could try and ensure that any future actions would make some tracks into atoning for her behavior in the centuries since she had been turned.

With the uprising of the Clave in the eighties, Maggie began to see that there was a need for a place where her people could be safe. She began to work to get her siblings and the Greyson’s to see eye to eye, if only for the sake of the future of her people. She poured her heart and soul into the safe haven and establishing Hollow Grove, and setting up home in the town is her way to ensure that there is always at least one Blackwell in town. She refuses to give up, with each new creation, new attack from the Clave she only grows more determined to protect the town, even if it feels that they are more in danger than ever and that the Clave are truly a threat. Since the Blood Moon and the death of her niece, she has been out for blood, wanting to bring an end to the Clave once and for all.

Maggie is an old soul with the weight of the world on her shoulders, plagued with guilt that hasn’t lessened an inch over the centuries. She spends her time wondering what if and wishing that there was a way she could take back the pain caused by the simple denial of her true origins. But equally, she is fierce. Fiercely protective of her family, of her siblings and their descendants. She will fight without question, her loyalty to the Blackwells never wavers and she will not hesitate to harm someone who hurts her family.
