Tag game: explaining things
Thank you for tagging me @lewyn-martell, very much appreciated :)
Icon: its me. it was halloween and decided to do a warpaint, inspired from AC Odyssey. it turned out pretty good and made some pics. i look not so bad. i like that pic
Content: pfff i post EVERYTHING i started out as a multifandm blog and i still am, but i post many non-fandom related posts too
Header: it is set no not visible (or maybe i already deleted it?), but it was just a picture of a forest/road thingie i downloaded from flickr a couple years ago. i like forests
URL: ok so my current url is basically excelsior (but this one was taken, so i replaced x with an ks.) which in latin means onwards and upwards. it is a reminder for me to just keep going and growing. many people use this phrase etc but i got the inspiration to use it from the raven cycle book series.
Blog Title: maybe someday. its quite a sad thing to say, but it just sums me up so well; not knowing anything for sure. i kinda dont really have any hope left for anything, so im just like meh. this average phrase was also in The 100 when Clarke and Lexa both said “maybe someday...”
I tag: @snapecryptex, @waveridercaptn, @alwayscringy, @strategist-scientia, @rufina72, @darazscsipes-saskarmolas and idk if you see this and want to do it, just do it!!! you can tag me if you want as if i tagged you

Summary: “Time is the longest distance between two places.” - Tennessee Williams. 100 cycles. 100 moments. How Barry and Lup’s relationship evolves over 100 years.

Notes: I’m legit tearing up at the thought of this fic being done. Thank you to everyone who has read and to everyone who has taken the time to reblog or comment. You all mean everything to me. A special thank you to @theherocomplex, whose yelling convinced me to give the podcast a try and who said ‘DO IT’ when I told her I had an idea for a fic...

Cycle One Hundred
Now or never, Barry tells himself, which isn’t actually true. If not now? Most certainly later. So it might as well be now.
“Hey, Lup?”
Lup looks up from the report she’s reading and tucks some hair behind her ear. “Tell me you’re here to save me from these reports. I swear we do more reporting for the Raven Queen than we ever did for Davenport.”
“That’s cause Davenport let us slack off on reports after the first ten years or so,” Barry says, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jeans, hoping his courage doesn’t fail.
“Oh, right,” Lup says. “I kinda forgot about that part. Well,” she perks up as she tosses the report in the corner, “maybe the Raven Queen will be the same way. I’ll trade ten years of reporting for a lot of years of not reporting.”
Lup pats the seat next to her and Barry can’t think of any reason why he wouldn’t join her on the sofa. It’s the sofa from the science corner from the Starblaster, one of the first things they brought from the ship when they moved into their small home.
“So what’s up?” Lup asks as she hooks one of her legs over his knee.
He can do this. He can absolutely do this. “Well, Lup…” Barry takes a breath and prepares himself to ask one of the most important questions of his life. “Do you want to go on a picnic?”
The question has been on the tip of his tongue for months now. Originally, he wanted to ask the day Lup got her body back, almost a year ago. But then Killian and Carey announced their engagement and it just seemed rude to do the same thing at the same time.
So Barry waited. Waited patiently while listening to the couple talk about their plans for their future life together. Waited while he and Lup learned their new gig, working for the Raven Queen. Waited while they moved into a small house, a place for just the two of them.
A place full of tacky furniture and garish colors on the walls. A place where after more than ten years apart, Barry is lucky enough to fall asleep next to Lup almost every single night. A place they can finally call home.
And now Barry waits for Lup’s answer.
Lup smiles at him, the same smile just for him that made him fall in love with her a hundred years ago. The smile is answer enough, but even so, Barry’s heart thrills at her words. “I’d love to go on a picnic with you, Barry J. Bluejeans.”
“Yeah?” Barry asks, not able to help himself as he takes her hand.
“Always double checking your work,” Lup says as she straddles his lap.
They start to kiss and neither one of them break apart as the front door opens. Only one person doesn’t bother to knock.
“Gross,” Taako says. “Must you do that when children are watching?”
That’s enough for Barry and Lup to break apart. He looks over at Taako and Angus McDonald standing in the small foyer area.
“Hello, sir and ma’am,” Angus says with a wave of his hand. “We didn’t mean to interrupt-”
“Oh yes we absolutely did,” Taako says as he sweeps in the room. Barry supposes Taako must have been studying him and Lup, because he adds, suddenly sounding suspicious, “Why do you two look so happy?”
“Because we’re going on a picnic,” Lup says, putting her hand on Barry’s cheek.
“Sweet. I was gonna take Ango here to Fantasy Mickey D’s but that sounds so much better,” Taako says as he heads toward the kitchen. “I’ll have Kravitz meet us by that kick-ass field by the new Bureau of whatever it is she calls it now.”
Benevolence, as Taako very well knows, but that is not a fight Barry wants to have today of all days. So he lets it go.
Lup jumps up off of the couch and holds out her hands to help him up. Barry can see the question on her face, wondering if company is welcomed. So he grins, because they both know this isn’t the first private moment Taako’s interrupted and it won’t be the last.
“I’m just gonna add some things to the basket!” Taako yells from the kitchen.
“That sure of my answer, huh?” Lup whispers in his ear.
“I thought you liked it when I was confident,” Barry says softly back.
She winks at him and turns her attention to Angus. “My man, you have grown like a foot since the last time I saw you.”
Angus beams proudly. “I’ve grown a whole inch in the last three months. Mister Taako double checked the measurements to make sure.”
“Did he now?” Lup says. Barry can only chuckle as she completely fails to keep the smirk off her face. “That was very nice of him.”
“Oh, it really was, Miss Lup,” Angus says eagerly. “He’s even going to take me shoe shopping later.”
“Angus, that was supposed to be our little secret,” Taako says as he walks back into the room, the picnic basket on one arms. “But whatevs, the secret’s out.”
Just as the group is walking out the door, Barry sees Merle and Davenport heading towards them.
“Look who’s in town,” Merle says, waving towards Davenport.
“Cap’n Port!” Lup says as she rushes up to Davenport to give him a hug. “Oh it’s so good to see you.”
“Perfect timing. We’re going on a picnic and I’ve brought plenty of Barry and Lup’s food,” Taako says, patting the basket.
Merle and Davenport quickly join the walk to the park. Barry and Lup stay just a little bit behind the rest, holding hands. He can’t seem to stop looking at Lup and grinning like an idiot, which slows them down. Luckily the rest of the group doesn’t seem to care.
As they arrive at the park, Agnus starts to jump up and down. “There’s Mister Mangus and Miss Lucretia, sirs and ma’am,” he says. Barry glances over to the new Bureau of Benevolence headquarters. Sure enough, the two are standing and talking just outside the doors. “They’ll want to join, too.”
Without another word, Agnus takes off on a sprint.
“Must we?” Taako says as he examines his nails.
Lup elbows him in the side. “Yes, we must,” she says.
Barry gets it. He does. He thinks back to the last ten years, never having his memory when he had his human body, how strange that was. How horrible it was to not remember Lup. But somehow they all made it through the fire and maybe a little charity is in order.
This is also not the time for that conversation.
So Barry takes Lup’s hand again and they walk to a cluster of trees. A perfect spot for a picnic. Magnus and Lucretia arrive just as Barry’s laying down a couple of blankets. Taako’s taken over the food duties, naturally.
The meal is loud and messy and everything Barry could ever want from a picnic. After desert, Lup sits between his legs, so her back is flush against his chest.
“Think we should tell them the good news?” Lup whispers.
Barry thinks about the ring in his pocket and looks around at the craziness surrounding them. Taako has his head in Kravitz’s lap, while Magnus and Lucretia are talking about future good deeds. Merle is flipping through his Extreme Teen Bible as Davenport conjures an illusion for Agnus.
Their family. Their crazy, dysfunctional, loud, and most important, loving, family.
“Nah, not yet,” he finally says as he holds Lup just a little tighter. It’s so rare to have everyone all together like this these days, he doesn’t want to steal the focus just for him and Lup. So they can wait. They’ll have the rest of their lives, after all. “Let’s just enjoy this moment.”

If anyone doubts the possibility of Raven's guilt coming into play... "From Raven’s perspective, “They wouldn’t be in space and threatened this way if it wasn’t for Raven’s indecision about the bunker,” says Morgan.“Raven screwed up the plan, and made them come get her, and ruined everyone’s chance of safety. So them being in space is completely Raven’s fault, and leaving Clarke, and ultimately killing Clarke is completely Raven’s fault, and she knows that.”
Oh wow. I was not even thinking about that. Also, if Bellamy and Clarke and Raven were in the bunker then Octavia would not have gone full monster, and even if the bunker had still failed and they did have to resort to cannibalism, it wasn’t the cannibalism that was the horror (i mean it was but the real horror was what it turned them into.)
So yeah. TOTALLY. I totally forgot about that aspect of Raven’s character and story. She wanted to commit suicide and changed her mind and then called them to come get her and because they were her friends they did. That would totally make her feel like being in space and leaving Clarke behind to die was her fault. That explains her heartbroken face when she finds out that Clarke is alive and also the rather tight and forced hair style I was talking about yesterday, as a symbolic representation of her feelings about herself.
From her perspective, she must be wracked with guilt. That doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll forgive Clarke or be on her side, because when people feel guilty they can often overcompensate by blaming others or being angry at them. And she has valid reasons to blame and fell angry at Clarke for what she’s done. So it might be easier for her to blame Clarke than to accept responsibility for her own actions. But it’s Raven and she’s smart, so she’s going to figure this out.
I did not see that Lindsey interview, so this is good. That she’s talking about this means it’s part of her character arc. That we saw NONE of it means that we’re getting it next season. Phew. Another piece of evidence that they split this story into two seasons. Because we got Murphy’s character development with his self esteem issues and relationship problems, so that means Raven’s is up next. We got character development for Murphy and Emori and Monty and Harper, adjusted to their importance in the story. This means we’ll get Raven and Echo next season. We only got half of Bellamy, Clarke and Octavia’s character development. They’re two season stories. Usually Murphy’s and Raven’s stories would take half a season and they’d be over in the A season or stick to the B season. Anyway. It’s good news that there is story for Raven that we didn’t get. And that she holds guilt for leaving Clarke to die, means going INTO her story means she’s got to FACE Clarke, which means PRINCESS MECHANIC IS COMING HOME. You have no idea how relieved this makes me. And it also means all the things that are buried deep about Princess mechanic are coming out, including the love triangle, so yeah. I think I was right about c/b/e triggering c/f/r, and that might be the thing that gets princess mechanic back together.
OKAY. BUT.
In regards to guilt and blame. Raven feeling guilt for making them come get her is totally reasonable and human and in character. BUT.
IF they hadn’t come to get her, Monty and Harper would NEVER have gotten into the bunker. They were specifically NOT on the list. And they made a narrative point of NOT putting them on the list. It might have seemed gratuitous in season 4, but it’s possible they did that on purpose for THIS reason right here. Monty could have saved the bunker. Their garden failed very early. But Monty fixed it in a week. If he’d been in the bunker, they could have avoided the horror of wonkru, cannibalism and the fighting pits. But he wouldn’t have been in the bunker. He and Harper would have died in the fire.
Also. Emori and Murphy would have died. They would have been taken out with the others. Kane wouldn’t have overridden the list with them. They had no value with him, like Miller did, not only personally but with David begging for his life. They had no value with Octavia like Niylah did.
Echo would also have died. It was only the rescue mission that gave her a shot at living. She’d already been banished. The Bellarke fandom might not care about that, but Raven will.
But MORE than that. Yeah, if Raven hadn’t had her moment of suicidal ideation, then she, Clarke and Bellamy would have been safe inside the bunker, but. And this is the biggest but.
The bunker would be forever trapped inside the earth, and WOULD NEVER GET OUT.
Not only that, but the farm was dying already when they did get out. Kara Cooper was incompetent. Maybe if the whole bunker wasn’t stuffed full of warriors instead of farmers and crafters and scientist, but hey, that’s what the grounders valued.
The bunker was dead in the water. Or dead in the earth. And the only reason they got OUT was because spacekru was up there to let them out. Because Bellamy got The Eligius to open the bunker.
Raven being in the bunker would not have kept Polis from collapsing on top of the bunker and trapping them.
Without our heroes being left outside of it, and surviving, Wonkru would be dead. All of them. Sooner rather than later.
So when trying to decide whether a particular action is bad or good, we have to look at all the repercussions.
I just think that’s very interesting. The question of who is “to blame,” what is “bad,” how things might have turned out if we made different decisions.
Like. Hey. That question echoes out LARGER in the main story. Clarke, Bellamy and Monty committed genocide on Mount Weather, and the guilt they felt for that changed who they were and damaged them and hurt them terribly. But, if they hadn’t done it. If MW was freed from their imprisonment by skaikru bonemarrow, whether stolen or donated willingly, then they would have killed and enslaved the grounders. They had ALREADY stated their intentions. They believed the surface was their BIRTHRIGHT. They showed us what they were capable of by WILLINGLY becoming technological vampires and FEEDING off of grounder captives. Enslaving them. Turning them into cattle. Dehumanizing them. And even if they sentenced those who tortured grounders and turned them into reapers, what remains is that NONE of MW was innocent. Maya declared it so. She knew where the blood came from. Her mother knew. The people eating dinner so politely all KNEW. They knew the delinquents were there to make them stronger, even if they didn’t know that it would end up being a sacrifice and not intermarriage.
If they had gotten out, they would have created a NEW horror upon the world. A worse one. What Clarke and Bellamy and Monty did WAS the only choice. They WERE the good guys. Even sacrificing their own people so they didn’t have to kill innocents in MW would have created a greater harm in the world.
I am suddenly realizing that if your theory on The 100 doesn’t echo out into the larger story, then your theory is probably not correct. If your ship doesn’t reflect the larger themes, then it’s probably not endgame. If your interpretation of your favorite character doesn’t deal with the major philosophical storyline, then you’re probably off base.
If you have a spec on The 100, or an interpretation, you have to find a way that it connects back to the main stories. The major themes. Here are the themes. Survival. Being the good guy. The enemy is like ourselves. History repeats itself. The only way to survive is together. Yin/Yang. Breaking the cycle. Making sure we deserve to survive. We’re responsible for our monster. None of us is innocent. Unity. Rebirth. Cycles.
There are probably a lot more and you can come up with them. But I think the best way to understand what’s happening in this story and who the characters are is to make sure your interpretations can connect back to larger themes. All the characters narrative arcs HAVE to connect back to the larger themes. They can be different larger themes, but they need to connect.
Here we have Raven connecting to issues of guilt and responsibility and blame and forgiveness. Just because she is a genius does not mean she is free from the morality of blowing up bridges or dams. Her “superiority” does not give her the freedom to do what she wants to lesser people. Like when she decided Murphy should be sacrificed for a mass murderer’s sake. But she’s never seemed to FEEL her own responsibility in these actions, but shifts them onto Clarke or Bellamy and blames them. She says to Clarke that she’s the one who always decides who lives and who dies, but Raven has actually been one of the people who has GIVEN Clarke that job. Multiple times. She tells her its her job and makes her assume the responsibility. That means she is ALSO responsible for Clarke’s decisions. Refusing to make the list herself doesn’t mean that she held no responsibility for it.
This all goes back to the main story. Whether or not we want it to because we stan Raven and think she’s never done anything questionable. She literally tortured Lincoln and has NEVER showed remorse for it, while judging Bellamy for saving slaves, or Clarke for sparing Finn from torture. I think this story will come out in season 6 and it’s been a long time coming.
It’s remarkable how much the fandom wants to shift ALL blame to whatever character they don’t like. Lately I’ve heard a lot of anti-clarke stuff. Season 3 it was anti-bellamy stuff. Oh we also have anti-echo stuff. No one ever seems to hold Raven responsible for some of the very same decisions they call Clarke selfish or a princess for.
I swear this fandom is so meta it blows my mind.

TOP 10 characters :D
(You are the best! :D)
I’ve decided to go with the ones that are some kind of all-time favourites because otherwise I wouldn’t even know where to start. So, here we go, in no particular order, because that would just be cruel:
James Flint (Black Sails) Listen, I’d follow this man into battle, into ruin, and probably even into hell, he’s such a great character, there is so much, so much pain, anger, emotions, and yet still all that softness underneath. He killed a man with his bare hands in the very first episode and yet I just knew. That’s him, that’s the one. Also, starting a war on England because England was a homophobic asshole? Your fav could never.
Julio Richter/Rictor (Marvel)X-Factor Investigations was the series that got me into comics (in hindsight a questioable decision on its own, but w/e), so maybe that’s part of the reason why he’ll always have a special place in my heart, but I just love everything about him, from his ridiculous fashion sense to the years he spent so deep in the closet he was basically in Narnia. Also, the way his depression gets handled still breaks me every time. Also², Rictor/Shatterstar is possibly one of the best things Marvel ever created (OTP: It can only be you.
Ronan Lynch (The Raven Cycle)Oh my god, Ronan. Who appears to be so sharp, acts like the badass troublemaker, and is just so angry so often, but actually took a baby raven out of his dreams, dreamt up a baby brother who’s all sunshine and happiness, whose softness somehow can’t even be taken away by the darkest things and places, and who just loves the few people he cares about so goddamn much, how could I not love him? Also, because I still remember the discussion about this, he was clearly written as gay from the very beginning, but in the most hilarious way. (Comparing Blue’s dress to a lampshape, and then “Whatever sort of lamp it belonged on, Gansey clearly wished he had one. Ronan wasn’t a fan of lamps.“? ICONIC. Also “I’m always straight.” - “Oh man, that’s the biggest lie you’ve ever told.”)
Percy Weasley (Harry Potter)Probably the most controversial of them all on Tumblr, but you can pry my love for Percy from my cold, dead hands. I’ve ranted about this a lot, but let me rant just about this one thing again: When it comes down to it, he doesn’t really fit into his family who are all loud and chaotic, when he’s just… not. And it’s not even like they have nothing in common, it’s just that nobody makes an effort to really understand him or to really get to know him, this frustrates me to no end, okay, because there are so many layers there and I love all of them so much!
Donna Noble (Doctor Who)DONNAAAAAA! Of all the characters who deserved so much better, she’s really reduced me to screaming her name into the void every time I see something about her/think about her, because SHE DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER, she deserved the universe, and she deserved to remember it. Also, she’s probably my favourite companion of all time because her dynamic with Ten is hands down the best (”You’re not mating with me, sunshine.”). She takes no shit from him, but it’s not like she’s harsh or anything, she’s got so much compassion, and she managed to be awesome without having a special connection to the Doctor or some ~mystery~ about her to solve.
Daisuke Motomiya (Digimon)Light of my life, miracle child of mine! He gets so much shit in and out of universe, with everyone thinking he’s just an idiot, but he is so brave, so optimistic despite the way almost everyone treats him and everything happening to him and his friends, so full of love. I’ve said it again and again, but the world truly would be a better place with more people like him, and everyone’s life would be so much better with a friend like him.
Alex Drake (Ashes to Ashes)I’ve mentioned her actress in the reply to that last ask, and obviously all of her outfits and hairstyles are such a “do I want to be you or do I want to be with you” mood, it’s the best/worst (I am weak for the 80s, I never stood a chance). But also, she’s such a good lead and character! I was super sceptical after Life on Mars because I thought nobody could be as interesting as Sam Tyler in a setting like this, but I think she totally beat him in personality and chemistry with Gene hunt, and that’s gotta say something.
Sirius Black (Harry Potter)Okay, I tried to include only one character per fandom, but Sirius Black has been one of the first characters I’ve ever been kind of obsessed with (I remember drawing sketches in my homework planner of me going after Bellatrix Lestrange for killing him, this feels like a lifetime ago), and I feel like the older I get, the more – and deeper – reasons to love him I find.I mean, he’s already got bonus points for the cool hair, leather jacket and motorcycle stuff (plus, he’s like 100% gay, fight me JKR), but he’s also a fucking mess. Even before Azkaban, but both that and the way he grew up and then walked away from his family probably bring out his flaws even more, and it’s great, because all of this makes him such an interesting character.
Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)How often can you cry over the same character arc? Because is2g, I do every single time, it’s just so well done. In terms of redemption arcs, it set the bar so fucking high that I don’t think I’ve seen anything ever since that came close. And, I mean. He’s got all that angst from his history with his father and Azula and the path that sent him on, there’s so much growth that I could talk about that alone for ages, but he’s also just so awkward and such a goddamn idiot, it’s so perfect.
Tonda (Krabat)This one might seem a bit out of place (does anyone even know this book?) but 11-year-old me fell in love with him when we were reading this book at school, and the rest is history. I’ve been rereading it a few times over the last 20 years because I still love it and somehow always find new things to fall in love with, but what always stays the same is my love for Tonda. His story still kind of breaks my heart, and his friendship with Krabat probably even more. Characters who’ve been through so much but still are caring and want to protect their friends? GOD, YES.

4 - Is there a book that you think needs a bigger fandom?? - my gut response was the raven cycle but then i rememebered that, actually, trc already has a fairly sizeableish fandom, and they are….terrible, so in lieu of that…the scorpio races! that is an absolutely amazing book that i love. oh, the wicked king! by holly black. i know it has a fandom but it’s still fairly small, and i adore that series. oh oh! and circe by madeline miller. everyone on here loves tsoa, but no one ever mentions circe, and that is legit 100 x times better, objectively speaking.
10 - What would you like to change/see more of in the community??: for ppl to grasp some of the most basic concepts in literature lol ie that character development is often predicated on characters being flawed/making mistakes; no ‘progressive shipping’ or hating on ppl because they do/do not like a certain pairing; less fervour around the idea that representation is the be-all and end-all of whether or not a book is considered good; no hating on authors for anything they have/have not done in their books. TL;DR less over-moralisation, more respect, more thoughtful criticism, less hate.
28 - First book that comes to mind, tell us about it. Rant: haha well i recently read this book called the sealwoman’s gift and it was set in the 1600′s and is about an icelandic woman (and all her fellow icelanders) being taken as slaves to algiers, morocco. and the ending was just ridiculous. the main plot of the whole book centers around this woman’s romance with (essentially her captor/the man who bought her) over a number of years and then by the end of he wants to marry her and free her etc. and she – equally in love with him – is just like, nope, i wanna go back to iceland with my aged, boring white husband there. which is what she does. so she goes back, realises she is absolutely fucking miserable, and regrets everything. her husband dies; she goes to this random guy for comfort, feels better and then it ends. what an absolutely fucking pointless storyline. i just can’t believe that that was a satisfying conclusion to write at all. that is patently the worst possible way to round off a character’s development.
37 - Is there a book that you think everyone should read?? oh DEAR haha well to be honest i’m not sure? if m degree taught me anything, it taught me that literature should never be didactic, and there is no such thing as a book that should be exalted above all others. what i definitely do believe is that everyone should read, period. it makes me incredibly sad that we live in a culture where reading is often the preserve of well-educated, middle-class (and often overly female) audiences. we need to go back to the days where reading, and to be seen reading, and being considered well-read was an aspiration of all members of society, regardless of background or gender. but in many ways…reading is now something of a niche pursuit? which is really, really sad.
44 - Favourite book quote, go.: GOD i’m just gonna say one thats comes to the top of my head bc i really have so many. ofc it’s from wuthering heights.
‘I’ve dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they’ve gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.’ i couldn’t honestly tell you what the hell catherine earnshaw is actually going on about here lol but for some reason (aside from the fact that it is definitely one of the most poetic bits of prose in the whole book), it really resonates with me. something about the approximation of what she’s saying about introspection, and how some thoughts, or thought processes, you have stay with you and totally change you as you as a person, really rings true.
49 - Worse book you’ve ever read??: wow there are lot of those….but i’m struggling to pin one down haha so i’m just gonna say catcher in the rye haha it’s absolutely god-awful

I will only be accepting payment through PayPal and Ko-Fi.
What kinds of content will you write?
Fannish content for Voltron: Legendary Defender, The Dragon Prince, and The Raven Cycle.
If you’re interested in a fandom not listed here, feel free to ask me about writing for that fandom---I’ll let you know if I know the base material well enough to write for it ASAP.
All genres and tropes. If you want it, I can write it!*
Flash fiction featuring your original characters.
Please have references available if you choose this option.
NSFW content.
This option is only available for those who are 18+ years of age. I will not create NSFW content for minors, as I am uncomfortable with possible legal implications.
NSFW content will have an additional 25% fee.
Is there anything you won’t write?
I find myself very squicked by Shiro/Galra content, and do not feel comfortable writing for them.
Extreme gore.
Noncon & Dubcon
*I’m only human, and cannot predict everything you may ask me to write. Because of this, I reserve the right to refuse any commission requested of me.
How can I tell if I want a commission from you?
Feel free to browse my works posted on Archive of Our Own! This serves as a portfolio to all the fic I’ve written, edited, and posted. But, in the likely scenario that you don’t have time to read 16 fics and make up your mind, I’ve gone ahead and provided a few excerpts from my work:
Tumblr media
From “if time can be relative why can’t death?”, a Keitor fic commissioned by chew-ie.
Tumblr media
From “god’s nut punching quota”, a Shotor fic.
Tumblr media
From “of friends and more than friends”, a platonic Klance fic commissioned by crsinclair.
Do I have to pay upfront, or can I wait until you’re done?
Sadly, the internet is full of people who see nothing wrong with scamming artists and taking the content they worked so hard on without paying their due. While I trust that your intentions are good, I would rather issue ten total refunds than be shorted for my work.
Because of this, I ask for full payment up front. If this is not possible for you feel free to message me so we can work something out. You may cancel your commission at any time.
Please refer to the Refunds and Cancellations section at the end of this post for more information.
What happens if you go over my requested word count? Do I have to pay more? What if you go under what I asked for?
Nope! You’ll pay for what was requested and not a penny more. Think of any extra words as my gift to you.
I will not consider your commission complete until I’ve met your requested word count. I promise to give you your money’s worth.
How do I order a commission?
Send me a message at @theyelmore, or shoot me an email at [email protected] with the following information:
Your Tumblr URL.
Requested wordcount. Remember, this is what I am using to price your commission.
1,000 words is $10 USD, 2,500 words is $25 USD, 3,800 words is $38 USD, and so on and so forth.
What you’d like me to write. This is where you tell me what ships (if any) you’d like me to include, tropes you’d like involved, where you’d like the fic to be set (AU or canon-verse), and anything else you’d like to see in the fic. If you’re commissioning fic for your OCs, this is the place to include references.
Example: “I’d love it if you could write an art school AU for James Griffin/Ryan Kinkade that’s written as if watching a montage of videos that Ryan has taken throughout the year. I really want it to be lighthearted and funny--just pure fluff. No angst!” (This actually sounds like a cool fic... one day I might write it, but today is not that day.)
How you’d like to receive your completed commission. I can send it to you via Google Docs, Archive of Our Own (note: I will not mention the fic’s status as a commission on ao3, as that is a direct violation of their TOS; the fic will simply be sent to you via the Gift option), Tumblr post, or a home-brewed combination of the three.
Your payment method. Will you be paying via PayPal or Ko-Fi?
NOTE: I will not accept payment until we have discussed your fic in detail. Once I feel confident that I can carry out your wishes I will ask you to send payment.
Iron out the details. Upon receiving your requested commission, we will discuss the details of your fic in order to ensure my ability to bring your idea to life.
Send payment. I’ll let you know when we’re ready for this.
What happens next?
After I’ve received your payment I will begin working on your fic. Please keep in mind that I will be fulfilling these orders in between work and school, so it may take me a few days to churn out a relatively short fic.
Unless you request otherwise, I’ll send you status-updates as I get further through your fic. These updates will look like this:
“Heya! Just finished outlining your commission. I’ve attached a screenshot/doc here for you to review. Does everything look correct? Would you like me to change anything?” After you give me the all clear: “I’m starting your first draft right now. Let me know if you have any questions!”
“First draft is complete! I’m sending you a Google Doc of your fic right now. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or if you’d like to change anything. Until then, I’ll be working on the second draft of your fic!”
Refunds and Cancellations
You may cancel your commission at any time during the writing process, but please note that the return rates will change based on how far along the fic has progressed. Completed fics are not eligible for cancellation.
Commissions cancelled...
...before outline has been completed and approved by the commissioners are eligible for a 100% refund.
...during the first draft  are eligible for an 85% refund.
...during the second draft are eligible for a 65% refund.
...after the editing process has begun are eligible for a 25% refund.
Completed fics are not eligible for refunds.
I look forward to hearing from you soon! Thanks bunches,
Tumblr media
