Words didn't come easy to Arnav. Especially emotional words. With Anjai, with years of practice, he learnt, but with khushi he was in total dark.I doubt that Arnav had ever any need to use word to be with his previous girlfriends. So, right after that unjust alligation of everything being khushi's fault and usage of the contact to stop her from leaving him, all there relationship needed was 'RIGHT WORDS' to repair. But Arnav was unable to use them.Words Arnav used to hurt her, but couldn't use it to heal her? shame on you, Arnav. But I will give him 10 kudos for trying to understand what khushi needed and 100 kudos for keep trying relentlessly until he succeeded. And khushi was not forthcoming with information also, so more 10 kudos for Arnav.
Arnav was learning slowly slowly what khushi wanted by trial & error method. That dynamic of them post kidnapping is in a word intersting and unlike any other that we see in other dramas. As I am in the topic of communication, Here are some of my favourite scenes where poor Arnav bitwa trying to understand and communicate with his sanka devi and fullfilling her 'dil ki armaan'.
Event 01
Like in khushi's birthday, Arnav did all the things but not what khushi really wanted. And he listened. He succeeded like 5% of required goal, coz to achieved 100% khushi needed to be awake.but it's alright, that's progress.Like Arnav said 'she was sleeping, it's her problem'😂
Here I'll give Arnav some kudos coz khushi just expressed her desire for a simple 'happy birthday' but Arnav came to her with a rose picked from her mother's garden, as a compensation of not being able to wish her properly. The rose might seem ordinary to khushi, but the rose hold a great significance to Arnav. khushi will know later.See, the IPKKND was made to rewatch again and again.discussed in details here.

Event 02
When dadi came and Khushi couldn't understanding the tension between Arnav and dadi, she said she felt like she didn't know him at all. So he listened to her and fulfilled her wish.He bared his heart and soul to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Event 03
There another mutual communication happened here, my favourite, where he fullfilled khushi's dream marriage with proper rituals and custom. On the other hand, Khushi assured him his feelings meant the most, more than her rituals and customs.Discussed in details here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Event 04
An imaginary date that Arnav brought to reality. It's really representative of how much he loved her.He wanted to give her everything her heart desired.it's really a beautiful moment,Khushi ki dil ki 'kahi-unkahi baatein' heard by Arnav.

Hello JWB! Your blog is the best!!
I recently started my 3rd rewatch of Ipkknd over the past 10 years and reading your blog alongside is so much fun! Your navigation for the blog is so meticulous. You are absolutely hilarious and reading your posts reminds me of when me and friends used to discuss the new Ipkknd episode every day on our ride to school! Good old times 🥲
I have a question for you as someone who has watched the show at different periods in her life. There are some scenes which I had a different perspective of when I was a teenage girl compared to now as woman in her 20s. For example, in my current rewatch I get so annoyed at scenes where Arnav holds Khushi hard enough to leave a mark on her arms, but when I watched the scene as a 12 year old its not something that crossed my mind as abusive (especially when they played the Oh-so-wonderful Rabba Ve over those scenes).
So are there are any scenes like that which you looked at differently over the years with age?
Hello my dear anon!
Such a brilliant question - SO MUCH HAS CHANGED with age and time.
1. Arnav and Khushi’s sangeet. I was just so happy to see them get married that I didn’t think much about it but as I grew older I just really didn’t like it. They completely wasted Akash and Payal and I never understood Mami’s over involvement in the sangeet and also… Khushi lip syncing to lyrics instead of a yes I’ll marry you and WHY IS MAMI PLAYING KHUSHI AND WHY IS AN AUNT AND NEPHEW DANCING ROMANTICALLY 😣
2. The dabba service. I actually liked it when I was younger cause the comedy made me laugh. As an adult though I’m bothered that Khushi’s decision to be financially independent does not stem from supporting her family but that she needs to return 300 rupees to Arnav? And somehow we’re supposed to think she’s highly intelligent for working at her husband’s place, through his office kitchen and that’s a … victory? Also so awkward for Arnav to publicly be demeaning of Khushi and him getting furious that she’s “insulting him” but also Khushi getting rabba ve because he enjoys her food? It’s just too regressive that anything Arnav likes about Khushi is tied to bahu duties - that is cooking great food or calling herself his wife. Also Khushi just acts so childish in general I cannot.
3. Khushi’s behavior when Arnav lost his voice. I found her irritating. She’s too childish. The fact she expects Arnav will give her a gift to thank her for having done a “great job” like WHY can this woman NOT be intelligent is beyond me. ARNAV AND KHUSHI DONE SHARE THAT RELATIONSHIP! ALSO WHY DOES SHE GO AHEAD AND SIT IN THE DRIVER’s SEAT??? IS SHE A LITERAL CHILD LIKE I NEVER DID THAT WHEN I WAS 7 MYSELF! And it’s supposed to be funny that Arnav makes her do squats in front of a police officer? That’s demeaning to a woman who’s supposed to be your wife. It’s just really not landing for me tbh.
4. Khushi as a character is very annoying post elopement because she’s reduced to a childish caricature without a hint of brain.
5. I don’t think Arnav does anything great or romantic in the 24 hours track. He has emotionally and verbally abused Khushi multiple times. The one time she tries to leave house - that too for the sake of his sister - he makes her work around for money, threatens her friends so they can’t financially assist her and then takes over her property? I don’t find this coercion romantic nor do I find it to be “ASR” style. My guy was running behind to say sorry cause he was rude to her on the day his parents died. The one day where he’s allowed to be by himself and rude because it’s a traumatic day. (I have to see Khushi’s birthday and the sexy back massage in a separate context to enjoy).
6. I’m not ok with Arnav showering gifts on Khushi after he brought her home by coercing her. I don’t like how Khushi switches into bahu mode to make Anjali happy - girl you were threatened by your husband two hours ago and you’re busy playing Mrs Raizada? - and I’ve said this before but the sudden showering of gifts felt closer to love bombing and a reward for listening to him. I know Arnav is a man of actions - a man of actions would correct his mistake. I needed somethings to be better between Arshi to enjoy this.
7. I DO NOT LIKE THEIR I LOVE YOU DAMN IT. The fact it’s preceded by a very non consensual/dubious consent suhaagraat setup and that Khushi is busy talking about rituals than actually talking about what matters is… ugh. It genuinely feels like sexual frustration and my heart felt so sad that he’s dragging her around pheras to get done with it and Khushi’s elopement was traumatic.
8. Khushi tricking Arnav to light Janmashtami diya. Arnav is an atheist, that’s just as critical as following another “religion”. Would Khushi get a Muslim man to partake in Hindu religious activities by plot? No right. Would she be appreciate being tricked into having bread and wine as that’s the flesh and blood of Christ? Nope. The fact that they show wow Khushi is amazing she brought a NON RELIGIOUS MAN to partake in a religious amazing and thus has more influence than Lavanya on Arnav grates my nerves. I’m religious, and I cannot imagine imposing it on anyone - especially not to my atheist brother.
9. This is something small but I don’t get why Khushi can’t stay over the day Anjali miscarries and when Arnav asks her to stay back. Like something majorly traumatic has happened and Khushi still has to go by what will be acceptable for Dadi? That it’s not ok for Khushi to stay over? I get it if Dadi interrupted cause she’s perfectly terrible enough to do it and Arnav then wants Khushi to leave cause he won’t be able to hear another word against Khushi and she matters more. But also this is Anjali - there’s no way Khushi is leaving the house until Anjali regains certain consciousness and stability.
These are 9 moments that I didn’t like as I grew older (I have some stuff that I didn’t like right off the bat, lol) but here are also a set of moments that I actually grew to love the older I got.
1. A lot of first half Arnav. Very well setup as an anti hero with darker shades. His opinion on marriage and relationships is actually really good and I love the scene where he calls off the arrangement for his arranged marriage cause he clearly states that this would ruin multiple lives.
2. Shyam. I thoroughly enjoy a lot of his scenes because what a villain! I love all of his “nice damad” scenes cause it perfectly establishes why none would suspect and why Payal Khushi will have a hard time telling the truth to the Raizadas cause it’s just so impossible. I also love kidnapping era Shyam cause he and Khushi have AMAZING scenes and the show remembers that Shyam is KHUSHI’s villain! He really drives the plot.
3. I really have grown to love the scene where Khushi thinks she must leave Arnav because he won’t be able to accept aarav and that’s stemming from her own orphan trauma and that when Arnav does see her leaving he’s so gentle about it. He makes her sit, addresses her concern and that Khushi just bursts into tears and hugs him and admits she doesn’t know what she is doing and I love it that Arnav cares for her and Khushi is being her most honest self. It’s so underrated and SO beautiful.
4. Heer Ranjha in a different context. Because what Arnav says is an apology and perhaps the best one in the show.
Thanks for the love,
- Jalebi

IPKKND LIVE BLOG SEASON 1 [Epi. 7]
Hi. Aa jaao. You already know what do we do here. Baith gaye? Chalo start. Acha. Ruko. Saath mein popcorns liya? Lol. :P Chalo aao ab start karte hein, serious :)
1. Bitwa's face tho. He seems to be so damn irritated. Anyways.
2. Uhhh.. Bitwa.. Your wife Khushi is talking about the harkat that you did back in Lucknow, a day or two ago. Don't play ignorant now, okay? I know, you very well understand what is she tryna say, uhh-huhhh. Acting smart.
3. And what the freaking hell was with that line, Bitwa? "Toh mere har kaam mein taang araana band karo." When did SHE taang araao in your 'kaam'? I don't remember. Is she already disturbing you in your sleep? Have you already started falling for her? I am so sorry to say this. But. You are such a gone case, Bitwa. Lol. Whatever.
4. You are tryna intimidate her but I think the one getting more intimidated is YOU, alone my dear Bitwa. She is very much at peace right now. Whatever.
5. Look at that two seconds satisfying smile, Bitwa flashes, when Khushi says, "Phir paisa?" Lol. He is definitely enjoying this.
6. Tryna provoke her, are we, Bitwa?
7. Look at his face when Khushi is giving her monologue of khuddari and udhaar nahi lete and all that. He is so freaking enjoying this. His face's like 'Her whole life is gonna feel like a lie to her once she knows the price money.'
8. Khushi ~very confidently so~ picks up her basta to fish out 'the price money'. She is actually ~oh so innocent~ y'all. Sometimes I feel like pulling her cheeks so hard. Kucchi pucchi ku you kiddo, you haven't even seen your neighborhood states, forget about seeing the world.
9. Actually, this fact might have further intrigued him more, that she is an eighteen year old, fresh out of school, middle class girl ~a literal nobody~ in front of him and yet her zeal, confidence and enthusiasm is unmatchable.
10. "Pacchis hazaar." and all the color rushes out of her face and she gives him a side glance like 'Duh. Really!? This giant oldie will take THAT MUCH for repairing?'
11. Arnav feels like he should cut some slack off for this girl, after all she have had to endure a lot because of his tape fiasco as she subtly hinted at when the conversation had begun.
12. So. Instead of further taking money from her, he decides to help her in his own ~I am the knight in shining armor for a damsel in distress like you~ (In one word: ARROGANT) way. He. Read it carefully. He GRABS her arm ~with that haq~ (excuse me sir? care to explain?) and places a new crisp one thousand rupee note and closes her palm. Uff. I will die of the intensity of haq he is exercising over her and the way she lets him do so without snatching away her hand. (Note that she would always snatch away her hand whenever Shyam would try to do something of that sort.)
13. "Khuddari ki baatein humesha bohot sasti hoti hain aur paisa bohot mehenga. Tum bhi yahin ho aur main bhi. We'll see." Kyun Bitwa? What happened to your two second old suggestion for Khushi to return back to Lucknow with the 'leftover money'? Do you not want your wife her to leave? Do you already want your wife her to stay around you as much as possible? Tum kya see karoge Bitwa hum tohka see karihein iske baad se haan.
14. "....Haan ab theek hai..." Kya theek hai Bitwa? Ya phir more like kaun theek hai? Tum? Ya woh fashion show wali ladki? Kya janna chah rahe the tum Bitwa? That Khushi is fine or not? And what happened to your 'das minute mein pahunch jaunga wali meeting' for which you couldn't 'waste' your precious time for the puja this morning? Who oh who will answer my goddamn questions? BTW, so men really do forget everything after meeting their wives huh? And I see our Bitwa is no exception. Lol. Whatever.
15. Wah wah 'tuuu ruru tuutuu rururu'(Lol. I have no fucking idea why did I add the bg sound for her here. Lol. Please bear with me.) MAMIJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII. Belcome Homes Mamiji.
16. Hahahaahahaahha. See y'all I seriously lost it jab mamiji ne touchwood bolke apna sir hi touch karliya. Lol. Whatever.
17. Vyjanthimala, huh? Really? Mamiji? Ok. Wait. Y'all. Lemme show you who is Vyjanthimala.
*runs to google to search up her name coz has no idea herself who she is*
*skims through the photos*
*is awestruck by her beauty*
*debates about the selection of photo*
*decides one and takes screenshot*
*adds it here along with the link*
Presenting y'all.
Vyjayanthimala.
Indian actress and dancer.
Tumblr media
This is Vyjanthimala. Of course, this is an old picture (She is ninety years old now. Wow. Can you believe it? This young beauty is ninety years old now.)
So. Yeah. Now you can see for yourself, who is she comparing herself with. Such heights of flattery for your own self, mamiji? Not good. (Utkarsha ma'am is of course very beautiful. I am just pointing out the character flaw, given to her, of over-glorifying herself and her sun and her huzbend and her phamily.)
18. She really 'thued' at her own reflection y'all. Lmao. I can't-*wheezes away for the next four business days*
19. Lol. I love mamaji and mamiji's banter y'all. The way mamaji compliments her and keeps his mouth shut when she gets irritated. Lmao. One of the relationships I so love throughout the show.
20. "Itni muskil se toh auda banaye, usko aise hi jaane de?" A little glossary here. Ohada means (as explained by my friend @phuljari di) (pad/sthaan/padwi in hindi) status like we see here mamiji had to do a lot to gain/earn a place in the Raizada Household. So it is actually very important for her to always look 'tip-taap' as she believes that only then, she would be accepted as a Raizada bahu if she 'looks' like it. I hope I was able to make it clear.
21. And here comes naniji. Looking for some Lakshmi.
22. Okay. So. One more thing. See how mamiji literally acts like a teenager as she kind of rebels against her order of coming down immediately. So she refuses to follow her order and tells her husband that she would arrive a few minutes later. Hmm. Speaks a lot about the kind of relation mamiji and her saas-o-maa share.
23. And look how naniji dismisses her as well saying that she isn't waiting for her but for the children.
24. See? You noticed how Bitwa tossed away Aakash's question about 'uss din wali ladki'? This also means nobody except Anjali Di know about the Lucknow fiasco. Also, look how he shook his head when Aakash offered to take legal action against her? Ufff. I will die of this protective-ness and possessive-ness already.
25. Do you too find Arnav's face particularly hot and delicious in this scene where he is talking to Aakash? Also I am kicking my legs and squealing at that dent wali line. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. God. Oh. God. Please save me.
26. And we are immediately taken to that 'uss din ladki' who has just returned from her trip to the pharmacy shop.
27. Shut up buaji. She had gone out running, only FOR YOU. Show some grateful-ness. Dammit.
28. We are again taken back to Shantivan.
29. The smart-ass Raizada brothers walk in, with full tashan. Everyone quickly dismiss themselves and nani and Arnav are left alone.
30. Wait. Look at nani's expression. Arnav gets the hint that she wants to speak to him about something. And the atmosphere quickly turns awkward as Arnav struggles to maintain small-talk. Asking about her trip and the facilities provided.
31. Nani explains him that she went to a pilgrimage, a place where one needs to do some hard work in order to receive the fruits of their prayers. Then she continues to say that this time she had gone there for him and Arnav is surprised, "Mere liye?" Look at the way he asks it. He definitely did not expect it.
32. But then nani continues to speak cryptically. "Jiss raftaar se aap chalat hain, uss raftaar per swayam ke alawa sab kuch dhundlaiye jaat hai." Arnav counters back, "Nani mujhe sab kuch saaf-saaf dikh raha hai." "Galat jagah dekh rahe hain aap. Sirf aage hi nahi nazar ghumaakar piche bhi dekh lijiye. Har pidhi aane wali pidhi ko kuch sikha ke jaat hai. Lekin jab raftaar thodi dhimi ho tabhi sahi galat ki pehchaan hui sakat hai." I want to process these lines some more then will let you know my views on this monologue.
33. Anjali di brings a white kurta for him which will undoubtedly go to the un-used collection of ethnics Arnav has.
34. She somehow senses his mood which is still sour from the lines nani spoke to him a few moments ago and the encounter he had with Khushi on the road. And di yet again reminds him of her. She tries to know about the incident but Arnav dodges it away by saying, "Kuch khaas nahi."
35. Khushi again has to bear the brunt of buaji's anger.
36. Buaji tell me one thing. Uncle ko koi uncle nahi bolega toh kya bolega. Uff. Somebody please help her.
37. And the moment she reminds her of 'paisa'. Khushi again immerses herself in the world of Laard guvunur and his pacchis hazaar(her oh-so-sweet escapism y'all ;) ).
38. Both the sisters go to the market to buy some sabzi. But Khushi cannot think anything else other than her woh. She literally said it. "Jiji WOH phirse mila tha." At this point, Khushi is just a lost case. Payal rightly points out her 'chain' has been 'chhined' by that LG.
39. Khushi explains her that her 'chain' will not be back until and unless she pays back the pacchis hazaar that she owes him.
40. Ew! Shyam enters with an umbrella. Ew. Ew. Ew. His cryptic words irks me to no extent. So maybe he had indeed planned the fight with those rogues in order to ensure that her parents would send her to Delhi. Whatever. Bye. I don't watch precaps.
P.S.: No P.S. Ghar jaao. Bye.

More IPKKND 3 Thoughts
After I watched exactly one (1) IPKKND 3 video on YouTube, the ~~~algorithm started incessantly suggesting Advay/Chandini VMs/shorts which of course I have no power to resist watching. Consuming these just raised so many questions again in my mind about the CHOICES they made. tHE CHOICES.
1) Shivani Tomar’s makeup and fashion WHYYYYYY. Just why????? She is so beautiful! Like they really had to work HARD to make this drop-dead gorgeous young woman look so clownish. The excessive makeup did NOT suit her delicate features nor did it make sense for her character to be honest? The clothes - she is a petite woman, why would you put her in oversized shapeless clothes and layers upon layers of overflowing fabrics? I’m just mad on her behalf. If I’m being honest I also didn’t particularly like Advay’s fashion, but at least whatever it was, it suited Barun Sobti and his character. They did Chandini so dirty man. It’s freaking distracting.
2) Barun/Shivani actually have sooo much chemistry. Like I can actually appreciate it FULLY when I’m watching video montages without the IPKKND 1 background music/Rabba Ves to make me angry lol. Because when I’m only looking at their physicality and chemistry and interactions with some compelling background music, it just works so well! They’re a great face cast for an angsty hate/love story. A terrible waste I feel, as this show did not utilize their chemistry to the fullest. I think these two have great range actually - they can do comedy as well as angst and drama and of course, romance, really well, if given the chance. Instead of the whip lash between OTT dark psycho revenge and abrupt cheesy romance, I wish we’d gotten more of slow build angst, simmering feelings, and dark comedy with these two, they could have done amazing with that.
3) However, despite their chemistry and good looks and respective acting chops, I still feel Barun and Shivani were miscast as childhood sweethearts? Don’t get me wrong, they did well with whatever material they got. However, and IDK if this is an unpopular opinion, but there is an appreciable age difference between these two actors and in this particular case, perhaps because Shivani looks even younger than her age, its very obvious on screen. They look like they’re at least 10 years apart in age. Yet, they are supposed to play childhood sweethearts with only a 4 year age gap.  It’s just a bit jarring to watch what looks like an adult man in his 30s play his weird little arson themed revenge games with a teenaged looking girl. It seriously adds to the ick factor of it all. They’d have been perfect in some other love/hate story with the age difference factored in along with all the other angst and stuff (like this post by @jalebi-likes makes me wish we’d gotten to see Mohra instead!)
4) Barun Sobti with that beard 🥵🥵🥵

they did get one thing perfect and it was this ^^^ lol

What the Fuck is wrong with some people of IPK fandom?! Seriously, few questions of the PeepingMoon interview sent by FANS for Barun and Sanaya were so weird! Barun is absolutely valid, "What do people think, we're always sitting here planning our screen life?"
What kind of question is, "Barun, Why did you marry or Will you accept me Sanaya or I will divorce my husband for Barun!!!!"
It's alarming that even adults can't differentiate between Reel and Real! It's your problem if you haven't come out from Arnav Khushi! We immensely love them hamesha™ but why you'd fetch the Real people! Tbh it's infamy for our fandom!
Yaar you think they'd answer, "yeah when we hear Rabba Ve, a gust of wind blows and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain! We reminiscence of our old memory about how Rabba Ve used to play everywhere and Suhaag raat pe bhi itna maja nehi aata jitna Rabba Ve karte huye aata tha"
For your peace Barun apne gharpe Rabba Ve lagwaya hai, jab jab Pashmeen nikalti hai aur Barun sees her and touches her, everything feels Rabba Ve😼 Mil geya jawab! Be reasonable PLEASE!
And Yay I'm forever in awe of Barun and Sanaya's Wit and Honesty. I understand they're often misunderstood because of their veracity and stamped rude as people seem to expect some farce given by most of the celebs as if they were like the character they played, they love and remember their character, they'd like to snatch some good traits from their character and all, whereas the Whole IPK team seem to be gutsy af to manifest their idiosyncrasies. Specially Barun Sobti's sense of humour made those silly questions worthwhile, he had me in fits.
Be thankful that he ain't the actual ASR otherwise instead of playful replies, aisa questions puchneke liye First floor se nehi helicopter se niche phek deta 😼
Tumblr media
Anyways, the interview was extremely delectable <3 Loved it 💞
Aabhaas's Mehtaphorically ranks 1
PeepingMoon ranks 2
Griha ranks 3
Aabhaas reunion live was the best thing that could've been happened on 10th anniversary IMAO

“You know Sankadevi, I really wanted to tie this raksha dhaaga on Arnav babua’s wrist. But...”
“Buaji, you know how much Arnavji loves all of you, right? He respects you so much. Isn’t that enough? And anyway, he doesn’t believe in these things, so it wouldn’t be right to force him.”
When he softly says "thank you," he's not just thanking her for his phone - he's thanking her for respecting his beliefs and supporting him in his absence. Such a small moment, but so poignant in showing how accepting they are of each other as partners.
One of my absolute favorite scenes in the entire show. The writers kicked it out of the park with these small but significant details, and it’s because of such interactions that we end up falling in love with their love, time and time again.

IPKKND OS: Meetha Ishq Ka
Warning: Slightly mature theme | Canon |
Word Count: 1391 | 8-10 minutes read
I’ve often been accused of being shy and sheltered. Seeing the world as if everything and everyone was as sweet as chashni. It’s surprising how quick people are to point out that the world is bitter and I am blind. It’s not my fault if I lived my whole life in my babuji’s sweet shop!
He nurtured me with kindness and wisdom, imparting key knowledge to one and all. Lucknow was my home, where I met my closest friends. When someone looks at me they think “Oh, she’s so happy!”. That’s not true. In reality I’ve been a companion to tears and cries. Of humiliation and rage.
But believing in goodness above all, I am resolved to solve everything with sweetness. Aakhir kya karu? It’s elemental to who I am.  And I am not ashamed of looking at the world with a bit more hope and courage than most people.
Especially Diabetic Singh Raizada.
I would never point out his health condition - in fact I’m rather sympathetic to it. I have spent hours studying what sugarfree is, but the thing is Karela Raizada simply knows how to break my heart every moment. From the first time I met him he ran away from me as if I’m poison.
Maybe I am. Considering my bubbliness and sweetness, it doesn’t take a genius to understand that he has complicated emotions in his heart. I remember Di saying there’s something about me that reminds him of childhood. And I know he hasn’t had a good one.
I think my gripe with Mr. Raizada comes from the fact that I’m irrevocably drawn to him. I had concluded that men like him have no space in my life but when I learned he’s also from Lucknow, has a softer side to him and actually doesn’t mind my presence in his house - rather looks forward to it - I couldn’t help but melt.
Who wouldn’t? It’s Arnav. And Devi Maiyya ki kasam he’s been blessed with a beautiful face.
Talking about melting, I sometimes had the urge to melt Shyam Manohar Jha in a pot of boiling oil.  That man! I always felt something was wrong about him when he touched me as if I was his own. Who gives him the right to hold me like that? To attempt to learn my secrets? I tried warning those close to me that something was wrong with this man who claimed to love me, when it looked like he was trying to get into people’s good books.
I still remember the first time I was in Shantivan. Arnav Singh Raizada had glared at me from the other end of the living room but tell me - why couldn’t take his eyes off me? Also, if I may overshare my dear friends, I think he smells me before he sees me. I see his nose twitch, a hint of smile on his shapely lips as he recognizes my fragrance before he quickly dons his mask - yes a mask! - of akduness.
Now that I'm in the mood to overshare, I lost myself the first time I touched his lips. I believe he was in a haze, a bit unwell - so I won’t count it as anything romantic.
What will count is when I saw him on New Year’s Eve, face silhouetted between the curtains, skin glowing by the fairylights. Still, my most favourite moment that I count as rather romantic was post marriage.  I was alone with him in his cabin and he stared at me - contemplating something.
It was cold in the office but I couldn’t have felt hotter. Slowly, he pulled me closer to him, eyes dark in temptation. I was left speechless. I had thought after the wedding he would absolutely abhor me but no, here he was, taking every single risk - the curtains were still open!
Oh my Devi Maiyya, anyone could see us in his office.
But he didn’t care. I felt it was a temptation he was willing to cross regardless of the risk. And I lost my capability of functioning. There were so many more words left to exchange - like first of all, why didn’t Kadwa Raizada ever confess that he has a fondness for me? One can’t go from avoidance to indulgence at once!
But then this is Arnav. I wouldn’t be the one to stop him if he looked at me with his hooded eyes. I closed mine as he took me into a sinful, luscious kiss. A deep breath left me, as if we’d be waiting for this for ages.
Oh! He bites!
“Aap?” We froze. Scandalised. His wife of six months and my best friend caught us red handed. My juices were on his hand - evidence of our crimes. Khushi smiled, with the fondness of someone who realised what longing did to someone, and shyly chuckled that she would have made me - Jalebi - meet Arnav more frequently if she had only known Arnav liked me too.
As a sweet dish I had many friends, but none like Khushi Kumari Gupta. She was a part of my soul and I, hers. Hence it was no surprise we both loved the same man too. However, my friendship to Khushi rivalled my love for Arnav. If his mistake of reciprocating his affections for me - once - brought a smile on Khushi’s lips, I’d gladly be in this one sided relationship till the end of my life.
And surprisingly what started as unrequited love ended as friendship with Khatta Raizada. He had to ask me - YES ME - tips for making jalebis. Would I call myself evil for misguiding him and letting him create a horrible jaleba for Khushi?
Jaleba was a terrible creation. But much like Khushi and her ability to love anyone, she kissed Jaleba with sweetness. His bitter, burnt crisp edges didn’t hide the fact that somehow he was sweet on the inside.
I am never going to be Jaleba’s friend - if you ask me he belongs in the dustbin. But I am jealous of his ability to close an argument between Khushi and Arnav. There is something in him… I agree.
Perhaps as Payal had once said about Arnav to Khushi, Jaleba might not be who I think he is.
Wait, wasn’t this supposed to be about Arnav and my love for him? Then why am I mentioning  Jaleba so much? That oddly shaped creature with no taste nor eye for art! No, I feel nothing for him. We have absolutely no relationship.
Devi Maiyya ki kasam, I’d change my name before I call Jaleba a sweet dish.
Even if Khushi fondly spoke about him the next day.
“Oh wow Khushi-ji! This is Nannav’s jaleba? How romantic.” NK - my best friend #2 - sighed as he had the audacity of putting me and Jaleba on the same plate.
“Isn’t it cute Nanhe-ji?” Khushi smiled.
“It is Khushi ji, it’s like Jalebi and Jaleba are made for each other!” NK grinned.
Jaleba and I stared at each other, horrified. We looked away, vowing to never consider the other under a romantic light. I knew his heart was for Khushi - he was only made for her. And my heart was with my Arnav.
However, dare I admit I felt something pop on my crispy skin like it's not the hot oil. Nor would I admit I spent the rest of the day hidden in the bottom layer of the chashni pot, I wouldn't - and couldn't - look at Jaleba in the eyes after that comment.
Until Khushi forgot me in the chashni pot and Arnav dropped Jaleba here too - hoping he'd learn some sweetness.
"Hey," I jumped at his voice. He sounded like Arnav? Coated in chashni I admitted against my belief that we're... similar. He's made of the same thing as me. Except I had a different upbringing than him.
Jaleba looked away as the chashni made my skin translucent. And like a gentleman, he pushed more of the sweet syrup towards me and stood at the other end of the pot.
Hey hey.... Hey hey heyyyy…. Meetha Ve... heyyyyyy....Meetha Ve.... ooooo.... oh Meetha Ve...
OH MY DEVI FREAKING MAIYYA
– – –
Jalebi ko hai pasand mithaai,
Par Jaleba ko meetha na lubhaai,
Kya inn dono ke raaste kabhi ek ho payenge?
Jaan ne ke liye dekhiye, Iss Meethe Ko Kya Chashni Doon?
Only on Halwa Plus!

IPKKND LIVE BLOG SEASON 1 [Epi. 8]
Hi. Aao. Shuru karte hain. :)
1. Lol. Tom and Jerry. Naniji and mamiji. Any difference? Not at all.
2. Anyways. Back to Laxminagar. Khushi and her woh. Laard Governor.
3. Payal, for the umpteenth time, reminds her lil sister that she wouldn't be able to get a naukri in this 'anjaan sheher'.
4. And Khushi instantly realizes no. Khushi. No. I said don't. Please don't go to that snake. Please Khushi no. Please stay away from him. Please. Khushi. I SAID. NO.
5. I think there was some shooting glitch here. When Khushi and Payal were shown in Laxminagar there was night outside but when we came back to Shantivan it was daytime again and the preparations for that puja was going on. Hmm. Seems like nobody realized it. Anyways.
6. Lol. But sad as well. Mamiji is so affection deprived. She so wants her sasu-o-maa to give her the same amount of attention and affection but she just doesn't get it. IDK what's wrong with Naniji.
7. NGL but Arnav looks so dumb standing like a pole in the temple. They could have suggested him some kind of pose like folding his hands over his chest or holding his hands at the back in that 'stand at ease' soldier pose. That could have looked much better idk. *shrugs*
8. And Bitwa's poker face while performing the aarti. Like. Lol. But it's so sweet he is doing it for his di and his family.
9. Oh. God. Mamiji missed the affectionate gaze she received from naniji. See y'all? Naniji doesn't outright hate her. She just doesn't show it in front of her. The admiring gaze was so heart warming oh my gosh.
10. Lol. "Hum bol rahe hain." "Kamaal hai." "Humare khayalaat itne milte hain. Yahan bhi hum e bol rahe hain." NGL. But that was funny y'all. Fuck you, Shyam. Making nice jokes now. But lemme tell you something else as well. He is acting ignorant here. He 100% realized her voice and was definitely trying joke-flirt with her.
11. "Amma, babuji aur buaji ke baare mein bhi toh soch na?" Lol. Khushi is instant. "Ab unhe kyun naukri karni hai?" Lol. No Khushi no. You got the wrong idea, dear. Lmao this girl.
12. It's really so sad to see him so broken like this. Anjali di can clearly see that he has still not moved on from that hell of a trauma that he had to receive all those years back. She can clearly see that he still has not moved on from it. She so wants someone to help him come out of this dark lonely shell he has locked himself in.
13. Khushi convinces buaji to let her help in the orders for the sarees.
14. Ofcourse Khushi will get confused by the name of the house she had to go to: Shantivan yaa Nandavan.
15. Of course the guard from Shantivan will come and inquire about her presence. And of course she will ask to go in.
16. Of course bitwa will hit and miss her even though he would be in the same house at the same time, even though he should have left for his office until now.
17. Okay so both Anjali and Khushi have the knowledge about those 'kaam ache se ban jaye wale' tips. Anjali helps her in the choice of foot to enter and Khushi eyes feast on the beautiful visuals of Shantivan. And also that 'piche se nahi tokte' one is so damn real. Even my mother follows it y'all.
18. Khushi's mannerisms scream middle-class and yet Anjali doesn't seem to care even a bit. Rather she is quite amused to see her innocence and genuine-ity.
19. Soon, Anjali realizes that naniji would rather enjoy seeing those chikankari saree samples more than her. Coz she of course doesn't wear these( IDK I might be wrong but I think she wears sarees from AR's saree collections that Arnav got for her? IDK. *shrugs*)
20. Khushi on seeing that Anjali is limping suggests that she could show her the way to the room and Khushi would manage the rest. So Anjali calls for raheem chacha.
21. But raheem chacha leaves her before giving her some vague instructions.
22. And Khushi is left all alone in the middle of two ways. So how will she choose the path? Of course her jingle. Kya hua? Yaad nahi aaya? Arre woh. Arre wohi bhul bhulaiya chale hai paiya wala. From the first episode. Ab aaya? Yaad? Hmm wohi wala. So which rasta did mori maiyya show last time? Arnav-rasta. So which rasta will she show her this time? Hard to guess? I don't think so. Batao batao. *wiggles eyebrows*
23. Lol. She peeks inside Arnav's room calling out for naniji. Lol. Khushi. I just. *exhales* Don't have any words for you.
24. No Khushi. Lol. Sirf tumhara Laard Gorvernor hi rehta hai ITNEEEEE bade kamre mein. Lol.
25. She calls out 'naniji' standing in the middle of the room and there comes 'naniji' clad in a grey charcoal three-piece suit with a cool electric guitar bg.
26. Khushi starts to get the hint that she might be in the wrong room when Lakshmiji comes running out of nowhere.
27. Raheem chacha comes right after her in tow to catch her. He quickly takes her from Khushi and tells her to leave the room this instant as no one is allowed to enter this room.
28. Of course Khushi would instantly leave the room intentionally forgetting that she was having a 'gathri' along with her. Kyunki bhai agar woh gathri lene murti toh woh Laard Governor dekh nahi leta usko? Why would they want to ruin their thousandth hit and miss. Lol. Whatever. Back to the epi.
29. Khushi leaves the room from the front door EXACTLY the moment when Arnav enters the room through his bathroom. Lol. They might have realized later ki arre iss room mein toh washroom hi nahi hai toh chalo iss entrance ko hi washroom bana dete hain kisiko kya hi pata chalega ki yeh hum already dikha chuke hain as an entrance. Lol. Another example jahan public ko ch_tiya samajhkar mamu banaya gaya hai. Lol. Sorry for my language but couldn't resist it. Whatever. Back to the epi.
30. Anjali di enters right after her chhotte complaining about his laziness for cleanliness.
31. Of course Khushi would recall about her gathri EXACTLY when Arnav would notice it lying on his recliner. GUYS. FUCKING MOVE ON. FAST OKAY? PLEASE. ALL THESE HITS AND MISSES ARE IRRITATING THE FUCK OUT OF ME NOW. PLEASE.
32. Oh. So. Episode is over. Wow. What a waste. Pura episode hi filler tha kya? Bas yahan-wahan karne mein hi time waste ho gaya. Whatever. Ok bye. God bless you.

Okay so I love IPKKND and have loved Barun for a long time, though his social media absence makes it difficult to really “know” him. I think that watching him and Sanaya on Zoom has made me start disliking them a bit, and that might translate into my obsession with IPKKND which has been an annual rewatch for me for the past 10 years. Yet, they seem to know so little about the love people have for that show and their very own characters. It made me sad that Barun thought his “what the” line was strange, that actually makes the show so funny, because many times it’s what our reaction is too to what is happening, and he has said many strange things on IPKKND lol, they just went with whatever they remembered. Also, the number one reason I don’t watch Indian actors being interviewed is because I think the Indian mindset is still pretty backward. Case in point, Sanaya being praise for how “fair” she is. Or complaining about being called a monkey for it, I understand her but at the same time… it’s like girl you are stunning, you are quite literally the norm of what is considered beautiful in India whereas we still have shows that show the difficult lives of horrible looking dark skinned girls because apparently dark skin translates to ugliness. I also find the who “I was very old when I had my first time” and saying 22 and it being a thing weird. Since when is 22 considered old especially in the Indian society????! Bruh I am virgin asf and I am 23 and i don’t think it’s old. Lol. Idk the interview was entertaining ish but seemed problematic. And Sanaya not answering why she’d wanna punch Donald Trump… it seems like she just said a name for the sake of it. And saying that drinking cow piss is like the baptisms..? I respect all religions but what? Also what is a fake vegan? Do you care about the rabbits or not? They talk about not caring for validation throughout the interview but feels like they thought through every single answer. Except that one time when Barun was giving a beautiful answer about acting and connection and appreciation and Sanaya just cut him off and said “yea we are cool” all the love to Sanaya but darl, STOP CUTTING BARUN OFF??! also all the love to Barun but my man, how you saying girls dont use pick up lines? Also he hasn’t had a one night stand ever? Thats a lie fosho. Also their obliviousness with how they as actors were shipped is insane. Like I was what 12? And I remember them being the talk of the town. I had ZERO clue that Barun was married until recently lol. And tabloids are actually a huge part of the Indian cinema and always have been I am surprised they would think it’s more in hollywood because indian television is so invasive and has been, I mean saas bahu and saazish???? Anyway, i am a bit annoyed I thought Id like them more… also Baruns accent on IpKkND is so different- wish he’d kept it.
