I just wanted to take a minute to reflect on my life. I feel like I’m closing a chapter of my life and I think I’m about to start a new one. 

First of all I wanted to say thank you. Thank you to that one person who changed my perspective. We met online and you became someone who I will be forever grateful for. I will always have a place of love for you in my heart, because you truly saved my life. You were one of my miracles. I don’t know where I would be right now if I never met you. You completely changed my life and I will forever be grateful for that. I wouldn’t have ever even guessed that the amount of happiness I have today would have been achievable.

Next, I wanted to say goodbye to my past. Thank you for letting me reflect and grow from my experiences. I know we really struggled and went through some pretty tough shit. But, I wanted to say thank you for giving me that chance to grow. Thank you for allowing me to become the person I am today. I am amazed at the amount of progress I have made in my life and with my own personal happiness. You will always be a part of me, but I am ready to finally leave you where you belong. In my memories. 

To my mom. We have experienced a lot of changed over the past few years. I respect you as a person and I’m sure you believed you were doing things with the best intentions. But I told you then, and I still believe now, that the choices you made were not what was best for me. I’m sorry that you felt lost during that time, but I hope one day you will be able to grow and understand just how hard it was for me. I’m sorry for any of the things that I said or did during that time that may have hurt you. I just need you to understand that at that time in my life I felt completely lost, forgotten and most of all really hurt. You hurt me in ways I’m not sure I will ever really heal from. 

To my dad. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you a million times over. You have been my rock in my darkest moments. My one reason for even continuing to stay alive. Thank you for listening to me, being there for me and supporting me. I know our relationship isn’t the best that it could be, but I want you to know how much I love you. I hope I can work on myself and grow into a better person and that our relationship can grow with that. You have been there for me in moments that you probably don’t even remember. You are somone that I never want to lose. Thank you for always making me feel heard even in times when I felt like nobody else cared. You couldn’t do much, but what you did do for me mattered so much more to me than any amount of money could but. You loved me and gave me the space to feel safe even if you couldn’t do anything to change the situation I was in. Thank you so so much

Some downsides to the demigods powers/just being a demigod in general

Quick TW, I advise you tread with caution because some of these can be darker than the rest

1. When Will heals he's literally putting a piece of his own health into someone's body, so if he goes too far he'll end up killing himself

2. All the Apollo kids have very very sensitive ears, which contributes to sensory issues, getting overwhelmed, and meltdowns

3. Hazel/the Hecate kids struggle separating reality from illusion sometimes and can be prone to psychosis and hallucinations

4. Hypnos kids very ironically have insomnia

5. Similarly, Poseidon kids are prone to dehydration

6. Zeus kids are obviously asthmatic

7. The Hades kids have hypermobility issues/hEDS

8. Any chthonic demigods also struggle with fainting disorders

9. Some Hermes kids have ironic navigation issues, and can never remember any directions they're given

10. Apollo kids can't lie even if their life is directly on the line

11. Aphrodite kids are prone to NPD and struggle to form relationships

12. Ares kids are just as prone to BPD or bipolar and struggle with vulnerability and letting people in

13. Rachel commonly dissociates and sometimes feels like her body isn't actually hers

14. Hazel has problems with stiff muscles and her body feeling like a rock itself

15. Frank sometimes forgets he's actually a person

16. Athena kids are prone to anxiety and panic disorders, paranoia, and agoraphobia

17. Reyna forgets she has an actual body of her own

18. Demigods in general are prone to POTS or autoimmune disorders

19. Leo is sensitive to any other kind of burn except fire (steamburns/carpetburn/sunburn/etc)

20. Nico is prone to hypothermia if he overuses his powers

21. Leo and Will are both prone to overheating from their powers

22. Iris kids are ironically either colorblind, or have the color perception a shrimp. There is no in between.

23. Dionysus kids often have ABS (Auto-Brewery Syndrome)

24. Hephaestus kids are prone to heat stroke/fevers

25. As well as issues with weakness and fragile bones/joints in their legs

26. Some Apollo kids can scream so loud they can burst eardrums or even stun those close enough, although this usually leaves them with raw, bleeding throats

27. Demeter kids are prone to scoliosis due to how frequently they need to bend down to garden

28. Hermes kids usually mask their real personalities with a "chaotic mask" so they usually forget what they're really like

29. Iris kids are very sensitive to light and often need to wear sunglasses just to be able to walk around because of retina sensitivity

30. Occasionally, Athena kids can experience degeneration in their optic nerves that can cause blindness and eventually spread to other areas of the body (bilateral optic neuropathy is what I believe it's called but feel free to correct me on that)

let me cook. picture me this.

we're about 12-14 months into hermitcraft season X and people's seasons are starting to wind down. finishing touches on megabuilds, games are being played and episodes are mostly spent with the hermits just screwing around for fun, (snails, gigacorp, cleos story for their base, etc. are all wrapping up)

however, one thing that has been prevalent throughout the entire season, so much more so than seasons' past, was the fact it seemed it was always raining. not just little in-game showers that lasted maybe 20 minutes no, i'm talking rain that would last hours, days even! and this has been very notable with multiple hermits addressing it in their videos and not being able to get around filming during the times when the sun was out, because it never lasted too long.

anyways, this doesn't matter that much, and many hermits learn to enjoy the rain! gem's trident shop ends up selling out quick as people realize riptide 3 tridents are much more efficient for elytra travel compared to rockets, and with the right shader packs many are able to make their videos more atmospheric and ✨aesthetic✨. so overall, the rain isn't a huge issue, just a minor inconvenience.

until the river starts flooding.

it's inconspicuous at first. very few hermits have builds that are right at sea-level so even fewer even notice any huge change. plus, the water only rose by one block so who cares. days pass by, then a couple weeks, no change, no worries. then it rises again. again, only by a block, but now the waves are starting to lap at the foundation of some houses, shorelines and property-lines becoming closer to being one and the same. now, while not too fussed, some hermits are starting to become slightly paranoid about the water.

the next water rise comes quickly, mere days after the last. still one block but now the hermits are taking quick notice. the race to high ground is swift, many building new bases on nearby mountains, other more dedicated hermits moving their entire bases up onto stilts to avoid their beautiful builds being drowned by the ever-expanding ocean deep. and the water keeps rising.

redstone farms are destroyed, the shopping district has become a capitalistic lost city of atlantis, grian and gem are unsurprisingly thriving in their new aquatic environment. the only safe dry areas are the nether and the end, because how would you flood the void.

we've reached the near end of the season, the sea expanding out for thousands of miles, as far as the eye can see, with the tops of mountains having become islands, sanctuaries from the deep unknown blue of the ocean. grian, gem, impulse, skizz, scar, joel and mumbo all sit on what used to be magic mountain, now just a few blocks above sea-level, looking out across the endless ocean skyline through the near eternal rainstorm.

"grian," mumbo begins. "yes?" grian sighs, tired and weather-beaten from the endless downpour.

"is the ocean big?"

so i did end up making his silly little doily. it's not terribly difficult but i'll put what i did under the cut

chain 4, slst into first chain to create a circle

chain 3/chainless dc/stacked sc (your choice, i do chainless dc personally i think it looks best) in the ring. 11 more dc in the ring. slst into 3rd chain/first stitch

chain 1, sc in the same stitch, ch3, sc in next stitch around, slst into first sc

slst to the middle of the next space, ch1 and sc in the space. ch4 and sc into the next space all the way around

continue to repeat the previous rounds adding one chain to each space until you reach 8 chains (slst to the middle of the space, ch1 and sc in the space, chain x, sc in the next stitch around, slst into first sc)

slst one into the next space, ch3/chainless dc/stacked sc to begin the first petal, 7 more dc in the space, slst into next sc, 8dc in next space, slst into next sc around. slst into the final sc from the previous round and tie off.
