For #FilAmHistoryMonth and #Inktober I thought I’d learn about Philippine mythology using the #Engkantober prompts @malamaya.Noel put together a few years back! Third is a Kapre - the source of my username 🥭 This dude (affectionate) is like if bigfoot was a massive stoner, but instead of being weary of embers dropping from his towering toking each puff produces fireflies! If you find a Kapre in a Kawayan (bamboo), Mangga (mango), Akasya (acacia), or Balete (banyan) grove beware, they’ll get you lost in the grove and only let you return once you steal the tiny pearl they carry.

none of this is in the anime and it's a damn shame! I like the lore (again, setting up the resurrection) and the bonding sesh for Namari, Kiki and Kaka.

My heart goes out to everyone finally figuring out that we aren't getting the death worm this season, I am really excited to see it animated too. But tbh there was never any way it would fit

Like think about everything that happens in the cursed house arc. There is SO MUCH there that I personally think just the death worm stuff is going to be 5-6 episodes on it's own to get through it. They didn't have enough episodes left even if they completely skipped the serpo arc.

Personally I've always figured the episodes are gonna shake out like this:

Ep 8 - shenanigans with Okarun/Aira and getting in to empty space (I was right! though I wasn't sure we'd get to Acro Aira but in hindsight that's a perfect cliffhanger cut point)

Ep 9 - the fight, probably ending with the big final blow

Ep 10 - public humiliation and mr. shrimp joins the team, Jiji appears at the end!

Ep 11 - Jiji is actually introduced and goes to school with them, ending with Taro appearing "chasing" Okarun

Ep 12 - anatomical dummies shenanigans and a sort of cliffhanger teasing the cursed house arc next season

I think people forget that it takes seconds to read a fight scene when it's just a few sequential images but several MINUTES to show that same fight scene animated. The Serpo arc is largely action, so it's no suprise it's taking a couple episodes. Also dialogue! Dialogue takes longer to voice act than it does to read. There's only so much you can fit into like, 25 mins

Boy let me tell you all the fun I had this month I was completely free!

I went through many dimensions and solved many puzzles, getting inside someone’s personal work

Everything was very beautiful, I really hope this individual is doing better with his struggles though!

I then went to a subway station and got lost many times…

Many, many times…

But the places I visited were very interesting with very interesting people in them as well

After getting loss many times on that subway station, I decided to take a break for a few days in someone’s house, it was cozy, but a bit too welcoming for me…

At the end of my journey, I went inside someone’s mind!

It was bizarre but mesmerizing, many interesting things in there

I had so much fun exploring with no limits

…

But the month is over and the deal is broken, now I'm back and my body hurts… I wonder what he did while I was gone…

I hope I get to visit those places again someday in the future… they were nice…

10/23/24 WIP Wednesday (Closed) | TBD AU

He took himself off of the Maserati’s insurance, off of any of Andrew’s in case of emergency contacts, put all of Andrew’s clothes back into his dresser and portion of the closet and took all of his own out to move into one of the spare rooms that had come about due to a freshman backliner dropping out due to bad grades. 

Robin had helped him pack up every last thing but Nicky had demanded that Neil leave behind the random souvenirs he and Andrew had picked up along their many trips. Neil had already taken all of the pictures but Nicky had insisted that Andrew needed to see that the five years weren’t just empty and Neil…Neil had left them all behind.

He’d kept the key to the Columbia house on Nicky’s insistence as well and Neil…hadn’t had the will to fight against that either.

He still had that key with him even though the house had been sold and remodeled. He didn’t think it would have worked even if whoever had bought it had kept the locks the same, Neil had worked the key over in his hands so often that he’s sure it’s worn down some.

Andrew left the hospital after a week and Aaron blocked any and all attempts made by the other Foxes to bring Neil up to him. Andrew had spent a not inconsequential amount of time staring at Neil but Neil kept his distance, it was mechanically very easy to do. Without practice or living in the same room it was easy to avoid Andrew and he even knew how to lose Andrew’s interest.

He heard through Nicky that Aaron and Katelyn had managed to change their post-graduate medical school to one in Chicago and Neil was glad that Andrew would have the support.

i am delighted to report that Shin-chan Movie 15, in which a bomb gets attached to the family dog’s ass and can only be detonated by singing, is maybe the most emotional Shin-chan movie out of the 14 or so i’ve seen. from small children dancing in Broadway style kick lines to Shin’s parents thinking he died in a brutal, fiery explosion and the moment played with utter heart wrenching sincerity, i officially decree this a Good Movie
