#10/11 of them are either written by me (4/10) OR are my friends works influenced by me and/or are gifts for me (6/10)

.... Yeahhhh I REALLY think not.
This request was sent to us and we made a poll in response to it. Send any Blorbo-related question you want to our inbox and we’ll make a poll on which people can vote with their own Blorbos in minds
#i (ai)#death note#light yagami#but yeah. NOPE. they will both.... really not vibe with that lmao#you see. San Kagura's ao3 tag has only 11 fics total. out of those 11 fics#10/11 of them are either written by me (4/10) OR are my friends works influenced by me and/or are gifts for me (6/10)#and San would NOT love reading about the way I love to write her the most lmao so yeah. not at all#I love to make her suffer from pain embarrassment humiliation and everything else too much lol#also. all of the 11 fics are ship fics and San gets very embarrassed at the mere mention of the topic of romance to begin with#now as for Light Yagami. HAHAHAHAHA yeah I'm sure it goes without saying but no. he wouldn't survive it. hes got 8.3K fics in his tag#and he would die from ANY one of at least 8.0K/8.3K of them I estimate#I think he would want to murder some fic writers after that ngl#also tbh. one of the qualifiers of being a One True Blorbo for me is that a character must be someone I REALLY enjoy bullying in particular#which also for me means they're the kind of people who REALLY deal not well with humiliation lol#and this sure is 10000% true for both San and Light so#whoops well it sure is weird in the tags down here amirite. hello whoever has read up to this point

Tagged by @dragonologist-phd, thank you! Tagging (if you would like) @rannadylin, @risualto, @sayonaramidnight, @pyritea, @raynshyu, and anyone else who would like to!
1. the last book I read:
The last book I finished (just yesterday) was The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley. It had been on my to-read and I saw it on the shelf at the library so I took it. I enjoyed it, I think it’s well written and the main character realistically flawed in an interesting way, but I don’t know that I would ever reread.
2. a book I recommend:
Depends on who I’m recommending to, but I did actually in real life recommend Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid to a friend and she read it (although she didn’t enjoy it as much as I did).
3. a book that I couldn’t put down:
I read quickly, so I either read books in one day or it takes me multiple days of reading a few chapters at a time, but I absolutely devoured The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. Stay up past bedtime to finish reading levels of hooked, which is rare for me as an adult.
4. a book that I’ve read twice (or more):
I reread more in my childhood, but a series (that I read in childhood admittedly) that I’m intentionally re-reading now is the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy by Tad Williams. Currently I’m on volume 3(.1), To Green Angel Tower, part 1 because the book is too long to publish in one mass market paperback volume. (The original form of the book I read was all one volume).
5. a book on my TBR:
I either own books because I love them, or because I want to read them, and The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi is in the latter category. I originally got it from the library, didn’t finish it, put it on my christmas list and received it, and now it’s sitting on my shelf waiting for the stars to align and actually read it.
6. a book I’ve put down:
Last book I intentionally put down was The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang. Not because of the quality or anything, I’m just extremely uninterested in school stories right now.
7. a book on my wish list:
I am extremely looking forward to The Lotus Empire by Tasha Suri coming out later this year.
8. a favourite book from childhood:
Watership Down by Richard Adams is the book that I’ve read most in my life, to the point that my copy is falling apart.
9. a book you would give to a friend:
Is this either A) to lend or B) as a present, in which case A) no I hate lending my books to people. If it’s B) it supremely depends on the person and what they like reading. Hopefully I would give them something they want. I don’t like this question.
10. a book of poetry or lyrics you own:
I don’t really own short poetry, but I do have multiple Shakespeare plays and also national epic poems. So let’s call out The Kalevala by Elias Lönnrot (translated Keith Bosley) which is a beautiful work of poetry, even translated, and it touched me to my soul and I love it and it makes no goddamn sense.
11. a nonfiction book you own:
I have one history book that I have two copies of (by accident) but I’ve kept both because they’re actually slightly different! The Influence of Sea Power Upon History 1660-1783 by A.T. Mahan, but the second is a larger copy with more pictures that’s 1660-1805 for some reason!
12. what are you currently reading:
I have, in progress, The Unbroken by C.L. Clark, To Green Angel Tower, Part 1 by Tad Williams, and The Journey to the West, Volume 1 translated Anthony C. Yu.
13. what are you planning on reading next:
I just picked up from the library today Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Volume 4 by Kanehito Yamada and The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo!
#thanks for the tag!#I put volume one of frieren on hold at the same time as volume one of delicious in dungeon#I have now received the fourth volume of frieren and am now 9th in line on 8 copies for delicious in dungeon#which is up from the 21 on 4 copies when I placed the hold#tag game#books

20 questions for writers
Thanks to @thequeenofthewinter for the tag <3
Tagging: @elavoria @atypicalacademic @gilgamish @nuwanders @ladytanithia @sheirukitriesfandom @throughtrialbyfire @lucien-lachance @miraakulous-cloud-district @bostoniangirl21 @terendelev
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
6
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
704,291 😅
3. What fandoms do you write for?
The Elder Scrolls and probably only ever the elder scrolls. Mostly Oblivion but I have one Skyrim lonngfic in the works. I read fic in several other fandoms, but this one has me by the throat.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Well, I only have 6 in the first place so it's not saying all that much.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do the best I can to! Sometimes one slips by me on a particularly busy week, and then I'm too mortified by the lapse of time to answer. I don't think it's happened too often, but please know I read them all and am always grateful for them ❤️
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Haven't finished either of them yet, but it's gotta be The Illusionist Part 2, which is an Oblivion novelization with emphasis on the Dark Brotherhood and Mages Guild, or Beyond the Break, which is just me crying about Mathieu Bellamont.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Treacle which is still hella angst lmao, but Scar-Tail does live happily ever after, and it's all thanks to @atypicalacademic for the inspiration ❤️❤️❤️ I have also vowed to make my Skyrim fic, Slither and Writhe happier 😤 Thus far, it's going... well, it is going.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I haven't, and the few dissenting opinions that I have received I wouldn't consider hate either. They're just opinions. I hesitated to mention this, but since I was LITCHRALLY talking about Lucien Lachance on one of Ray's posts a few minutes ago, in the past I have receive messages detailing how my interpretation of Lucien is distasteful, given he is unabashedly a villain in my story and 1/2 of a toxic relationship (also he's... kind of pathetic lol). It's a darkfic and not for everyone, I'm well aware. Fortunately, many of my very lovely, talented friends and mutuals write great Lucien fics that are different from mine, so at the end of the day we all get what we want :D Variety is the spice of life, and you can pry grossnasty Lucien out of my cold, dead fingies.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I write sexual content (idk what counts as smut). Originally, I wrote all the sex scenes as fade-to-black, and while they're not super graphic, while editing a few months ago I thought "you know what, this needs more cunt." So yeah. The sex scenes have become a bit more explicit now than they were in the first iteration.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nah, and I don't think I ever will.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, and unless people are out there lifting passages of my writing and inserting it into their fics, I'm not going to claim ownership over ideas. We're all playing in the same sandpit, and while the execution is my own, I find it quite difficult to say the stories are totally original or novel because all my writing, from concepts to style, have been influenced in some way by the works of others.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but I've tossed around some ideas with @zomboidatomic that may or may not one day bear fruit...
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I've worked them all out of my system at this point, tbh. Romance doesn't really do anything for me on its own without compelling characterizations and intriguing plot. I select by other tags over ship most of the time too. That said I've been driven crazy by some of my friends ships with characters I've never even spoken to before. If it's good it's good, you know. (Though I am currently re-watching Hannibal and I will confess that I am still ill about Hannigram ajkfhalg)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'm going to finish them all, dammit!
16. What are your writing strengths?
Characterization, I think, especially when writing people who are awful lmao I've received a lot of compliments when it comes to writing villains and morally grey characters.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Ugh, I am so self-indulgent. Sometime last year I edited The Illusionist part 2 and trimmed out 60k words. It was so BLOATED (probablly still is). I think there were times when the plot got sidelined because I had an idea for a fun scene. Yes, I love writing Lucien and Nim hate-fucking and tearing each other apart in some weird mashup of Tommy Wiseau in The Room and the alien in The Thing. No, I did not need three chapters of this back to back, but I wanted it...
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
If the plot calls for it, then by all means 👍
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Hmm, now that I think of it it may have been a Fallout 3 Harkness fic that I kept in a composition notebook when I was 12. It will never see the light of day, obivo.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
OoOoh, that's tough. Slither and Writhe already feels stronger to me because I'm a more experienced writer, and I actually planned it out, but The Illusionist is my first baby.

Fanfiction Ask Game
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 21
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 184,514
3. What fandoms do you write for? ACOTAR (my current obsession), and I used to write quite bit for Avatar: The Last Airbender (back in the DAY with fanfiction.net and livejournal.com just to show my AGE), and I have dabbled briefly in GOT haha
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
when destiny keeps calling (Zutara, ATLA)
the other side of mercy (Zutara, ATLA)
surround me (Zutara, ATLA)
Call Me Selfish, Call Me Wreck (Elucien, ACOTAR)
Dear Lucien, Dear Elain (Elucien, ACOTAR)
Major love to my old Zutara fandom.
5. Do you respond to comments? I didn't always understand the importance of doing it and I used to be very shy in fandom, but now I do my best to always respond! I have made friends from engaging on fics on Ao3 which I love. It makes the writing experience feel like a community event which has been really fulfilling.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I usually leave on a hopeful note, but I did write water can heal, water can break which was slightly Zutara with anti Kataang vibes and the implications of the ending break my heart because they were aligned with the canon for Katara. I basically was so disappointed by the absence of her story in LoK that I needed to explain why it wasn't her fault and her own internal heartbreak about it.
Call Me Selfish, Call Me Wrecked is happy but also has my special mix of angsty-HEA. 7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of them LOL. But maybe Courting Lucien Vanserra because I was just in a silly goofy mood when I wrote it. But I also still technically need to write the epilogue....shit....
8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Oh! I used to not. @zenkindoflove influenced me lmao. Now I am getting better at it. So, yes, I do. I'm going to call it smut-with-lots-of-feelings.
9. Do you write crossovers? I have not!
10. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but please tell me if you do LOL
11. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Oooh yes. Me and @zenkindoflove have written two works together. I highly recommend it to anyone else considering it. It was some of the most fun I had writing in a long while- a true creative experiment. We basically have our own "Canon" universe of crazykindoflove that we have established in our heads. It helps we very much have the same tastes.
12. What is your all-time favorite ship? Zuko/Katara was the ship that started it all for me. It taught me fandom obsession, fandom community, it spurred a life-long passion for writing....I think I have to give it credit where it is due. Elain/Lucien is getting up there. Their book might be the very thing that puts them into the number one slot.
13. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Divine Punishments....the multi-chapter fic I had grand plans for that I abandoned after the first chapter LOL.
14. What are your writing strengths? Metaphors. I can come up with a damn good metaphor. That's my poetry background coming into play. My writing is very lyrical, descriptive, and introspective. I love finding a beautiful metaphor that just perfectly describes an emotion or situation.
Because were she to ever wear the dress, those stitched sunflowers, with their bright yellow petals, would be a declaration to the whole world exactly what his heart intended. That she was the sun and he was the humble sunflower, forever loyal to follow her, forever in adoration of her shine; for the sunflower only grows facing the sun’s light, in an eternal chase of her orbit. It didn’t matter where either of them moved, he would be there, waiting to bloom at her smile.
Like damn look at this. I still think about this one LOL
15. What are your writing weaknesses? Plot LOL. I was a oneshot girl my entire life and could never tackle multi-chapter works with elaborate plots. Until ACOWAR (Elucien's Version)!!
16. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I'd love to incorporate my Spanish but haven't had a reason to yet in a fic.
17. First fandom you wrote for? ATLA!
18. Favorite fic you’ve written? This is really hard. Several are near and dear to my heart. But I'm going to say ACOWAR (Elucien's Version). Because I'm really proud of the quality of the writing, the interesting take on Canon AU, the characterizations, and the time spent mapping out the chapters. I'm halfway through and it's already been beyond rewarding.
I feel as though everyone has been tagged on this one, so feel free to steal and share!!!

20 questions for fic writers
tagged by @starrynightarchive and @feralshadowdemon, ty for the tag!! putting most of this under a cut since it's long lol
tagging (with no pressure): @that-was-anticlimactic @backhurtyy @rejectscanon
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
167 linked to my main ao3 account. maybe some others floating around that have been made anonymous or orphaned or something. who knows
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
965,845 - okay wow i did not realize i was that close to 1mil. huh
3. what fandoms do you write for?
well right now the bsd brainrot has taken hold of me and i cannot think of much else. but i do have a handful of zine fics for other fandoms that are in progress / will be posted eventually. i have a very long list of fandoms i have written for in the past; however, i would not recommend reading anything posted before 2021
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?
plum blossom
you clutched my brain and eased my ailing
my calamitous love & insurmountable grief
five times ryan came out (and one time he couldn't)
(just wanna be) somebody i'm proud of
my disclaimer here is that these are absolutely nowhere even close to being by best fics and i kind of resent them being my top five
5. do you respond to comments
i'm trying🫠 i let like 600+ pile up in my inbox over the course of a year and a half (or more) and so i recently went through and just marked everything as read instead of actually responding. BUT (almost) all comments on fics posted since ~august 2023 will get responses. exceptions are if i literally don't know what to say bc i'm bad at talking to people sorry
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
you don't even want to know the horrors that showed up in my google docs this weekend. but also either if one of us dies or may we stay lost on our way home
7. what is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
i'll go with this ultraviolet morning light just bc it's probably the greatest payoff since it takes longest to get to the happy ending
8. do you get hate on fics?
not typically but there have been a few mean comments over the years. actually i got one bookmark on a fic that's in a series for a fanweek that says "ignore the others in this series but this one is good" and honest to god it just made me laugh. like.. you do realize i can see that, right?
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
i can barely write kiss scenes
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?
i don't usually BUT when i was in middle school my friend and i created The Megacrossover, which consisted of us putting a bunch of different book characters into a hunger games arena. and we just kept adding more fandoms, and having new characters be transported into the arena. it was a good time. this was also entirely handwritten as all fanfiction should be when you're 10-12 years old
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
not to my knowledge. definitely found one fic that was like. heavily influenced by mine back in my ouat days though
12. what's the longest you've spent working on a fic? and the shortest?
longest: over a year, at least shortest: a couple hours (not including editing)
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
not technically since the megacrossover but corey and i co-come up with ideas like. at least once a week
14. what's your all-time favorite ship? from all fandoms?
outlaw queen has to be my answer to this forever and always. never forgive never forget 🏹🍎
15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
too many to answer. probably the biggest one is the azula-centric sequel to tuvml that i simply do not have the attention to write bc the hyperfixations have travelled elsewhere :( there are many many others though. i have an endless amount of ideas and not enough time
16. what are your writing strengths?
people often tell me i'm good at characterization and tbh i do pride myself on knowing characters better than 97% of the rest of the fandom. not all of the characters. but most of them.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
short attention span </3
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
do whatever you want forever. but like.. respectfully
19. first fandom you wrote for?
probably percy jackson when i was like 10. no you cannot find that anywhere online because i, like an idiot, deleted it without saving a backup copy
20. favorite fic you've written?
definitely (i am) the whisper of a memory. i love a lot of my fics, but that is one i am especially proud of because i tried new things with the formatting and i think it worked really really well
#can't remember if i've done this one before or not but if i have it has been a While#tag game#idk what else to say here. i'm tired

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @cuubism and @tharkuun!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
36.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 613,717. I had hoped I'd get that a little higher this year but health issues have been kicking my ass and I haven't written half as much as I'd like.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Only the Sandman at the moment.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
All my titles end up fairly long so I'm shortening most of them lol but: When Atlas Shrugs (1,410), the space that's inbetween (942), take it slow (583), the majesty of fantasy (582) and all i want is to be a bit warm for you (529).
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always! It may take me a few days, but I will. People have taken the time to interact with the things I've written, and I feel as though I should take the time to express my gratitude for that.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
One thing I do not write is unhappy endings. However, Shoulder the Sky is easily the angstiest thing I've written, so I'll say that one.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Either your heart in my hands (and mine in yours) or enough for now.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, I haven't
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do not! If I did, it would absolutely be very emotional, and potentially angsty.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Typically, no, and I have no crossovers posted. I do have one in my drafts, though whether or not it'll be completed is another matter entirely. It's a Sandman x The Raven Cycle crossover, because the two of those just fit.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
As far as I'm aware, no.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! In the Sandman fandom, my dearest friend @samsalami66 and I co-wrote Embrace me, my sun and A Chance Encounter together, and another (much, much) longer historical AU in progress. Sam is also the one to listen to all of my rants and often offers ideas of their own, so many of my fics have been influenced by Sam too, even if we didn't write them together. For the Witchlands, @un-empressed and I wrote Safi, No together, which was a great time. (We should write together more, bestie.)
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Truly, I have no idea. I've written more for Dreamling than I have for any other ship, though I wouldn't say that makes them my favourite. Perhaps Griddlehark from The Locked Tomb, even if I haven't written anything for them.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I fear that may be apotheosis, my Hob!Hope WIP that has been stuck at 13k for the last six months. I fear I may have overcomplicated the plot for myself, but who knows? Perhaps I'll reach a breakthrough at some point.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Writing things heavy in emotion, relationships and introspection, probably.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I struggle with characterisation, sometimes. Too much of myself escapes into the characters I write about. I get rather repetitive sometimes without really noticing--thank god for beta readers to tell me where that happens lol. I sometimes write too much introspection, too.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Have personally not done so, but I think it should be used only if it makes sense in the fic.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Honestly? Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas when I was thirteen. Clearly, thirteen year old me did not have very good taste in fiction. I like to think I've grown as a person since then.
20. Favourite fic you've written?
For Horizon, it would be metanoia. I am extremely proud of all the characterisation in that one shot, and the writing itself. For the Sandman, it would be the majesty of fantasy (protects me from tragedy). While I have improved as a writer since then, I'm still incredibly proud of how this entire fic came out. I put a lot of time into it and it paid off!
tagging @un-empressed, @landwriter and @seiya-starsniper if you feel like answering 20 questions :)
#tag games#honestly i don't think i'd ever write smut but i'm tempted to try out of pure curiosity and nothing more. just to see if i could.#i want to know lmao

1. I have, after checking, 13 works published on Ao3
2. My total word count is 112k
3. I think MHA, AtLa and Zutara are my mains
4. Okay so
Bothered be all he's a bird in spring at 503 kudos
The enigma of the unfathomable and the human at 263 kudos
In which Shinso becomes a discord kitten to scam Mineta at 244 kudos
A scent of change (plz don't read it) it's a 288 kudos
When the devil answers your prayers at 110 kudos
5. Yes, all of them
6. Of Burning down and consuming out
7. I guess it'd be When the devil answers your prayers
8. I don't think it has ever happened to me
9. I write a lot of smut. Some of it doesn't get published, but I have this thing where I get very specific visions and I need to build up to it so it makes sense, and that's how I find myself 15k into a fic before I can finally fucking wrote the characters doing the frutifantastic horizontal tango. But I'm a little bit into BDSM, a little into heat fics for Hawks (don't ask me why, I just have a breeding kink okay), and idk in general most of my stuff has a dom-sub vibe. Sorrily I only write straight smut. Well, maybe in the things that are not fanfiction but like my original stuff (which I admit gets ignored a lot due to me being busy as fuck and needing quick creative relief) there's lesbian smut, but I just can't get into two men's heads well enough to think out how they'd be in the sheets and I don't really have many wlw ships. Which is funny because if you notice I almost always write from the point of view of someone who wants to fuck a woman with a passion. Is it my brain translating my desire for women into a het narrative due to my own internalised biphobia? Am I just more experienced with men so that influences me? Have I not eaten enough cunt to write it well enough? I don't know. The quid of the question is that so far, in my fanfiction, I've only written het pairings.
10. Well, actually, yeah, I have a Jarida fanfiction that I keep rewriting on and off to make it acceptable because I wrote it for the first time when I was 15 and my English wasn't... Good. But I think Rise of the Guardians and Brave is the only crossover I've written.
11. Nah, I highly doubt someone has ever stolen my fanfiction.
12. Nope
13. Yep. One of the fics I abandoned was because my friend started getting so busy we stopped talking. I think about her often and wonder where her life has taken her.
14. Zutara. Without a doubt. Also fiolee. I've shipped them since I was a little kid, they are a constant in my life
15. I have this big Victorian universe in MHA that spans like six fanfics and it's really big, really a lot of research and reading went into drafting and world building but my brain thrives off of attention and since I don't have the attention of other people to push me forwards on it, I keep not writing it. Which is a shame cause I think it's one of the best things I could have written.
16. I am really good at getting to the headspace of my characters, of making a text acquire a voice that sounds like the character.
17. I suck shit at grounding things in a place, but I think I'm reading so much Balzac for uni this quatrimester I'm going to learn to describe things or die trying
18. I need to speak the language I'm inserting into the text. I need to be able to confidently bullshit and know that a native speaker would go eh, someone might say it like this, before I do it. Either that or I ask a native speaker. I don't trust AI.
19. I think my first fandom I wrote for was Adventure Time, actually, back when I didn't fluently know English and on fanfic.es very very long ago. Like a decade ago. I think I was thirteen. And it was bad fanfic. Dear god was it bad.
20. My jasiper Roman AU. I'm in love with Ancient Rome, I'm actually studying Latin and reading ancient texts just so I can get in the head of ancient people's better. I read a lot of books about domestic ancient Roman history, i can't begin to tell you how much I love it. And I think Jasiper is a pairing that seldom gets any sort of love and idk, I really like it, I think it's a wonderful ship and it has so much potential. I love the things I plan about this fic, even if I'm academically busy I'm always thinking about it. I love it to pieces. It's called Everything that could, did, does, will do
I'm tagging three of my favourite writers here but if anyone wants to just add themselves for the fun of it, by all means! Reblog and add your things babes!

Trying to remember how it feels (to have a heartbeat) (57 kudos)
we'll say Hallelujah (you're home) (34 kudos)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! Because i like replying, also I think it's right since they decided to have words about my writing and i love to reply to show that I appreciate what they think about it
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
It's Trying to remember how it feels (to have a heartbeat)
To be fair i try to write more on the comfort side despite my last fic being somewhat heavy on the topic
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Tangerine! It's just wholesome moments for the core four and Adrien pining
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not the i know of xD
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Maybe 👀
Yes, i do but ehhhh haven't posted any yet because i never finished them and there's some monsters, and crack and straight up sin AUs in there xD
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I'm working on a rewrite in Spanish for Tangerine
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Have not entirely but we did try to start one with @asti-doodles and @halfahelix, it's just a lot of brainstorming and lose scenes
(I don't remember if you guys have posted fics or I just read the snippets you shared but you are welcome to join the game!)
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Love square, they have almost complete reign of my braincells.
And percabeth!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
My chlolix fic, i want to finish it but words never want to come out.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I have no idea, but I got some people talking about the way i do dialogue feeling natural
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I say multi chaptering and writing the in-between scenes of the important bits of the story, like how do you get from point a to point b and from there to point c kinda thing
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
10/10 if it makes sense and is relevant to what is happening. Gotta think like that being bilingual myself xD
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Does it count as fandom if i was a kid and not in social media? Because if it does it's The Fairly OddParents, BUT if not it was for One Direction.
All of that has been deleted from existence tho
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
we'll say Hallelujah (you're home)
That's a fic that i think will forever be my favorite because it's not only something that i think needed to be explored about Adrien but because it's something i deeply resonate and relate about him. Some stuff in that short fic is stuff i think Adrien could have gone through specifically and some others are my actual experience regarding it.
Thank you again for tagging me!

Fic writer meme thing! Thanks for the tag, @intyalote! I love mucking around with writing-adjacent introspection.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
17
2. What is your total AO3 word count?
54,055
3. Top five fics by kudos
Connect with friends and the world around you (NiF, crack)
Rock, Burning Up in the Air (DCMK, Kogoro & Conan)
Every Heart Sings a Song (DCMK, ShinRan)
the dcmk shipyard (DCMK, various)
Two (Guardian, Shen Wei & Ye Zun)
4. Do you respond to comments, and why?
I love getting author responses on comments I send on fics, so I always try to respond to reader comments on mine! And I don’t get so much that it’s overwhelming, or anything.
I’ve gotten much more comfortable responding to comments over these past two (three???) years I’ve been writing fic. I used to freeze up so bad. In delight, but also for fear of saying the wrong thing/not adequately conveying my brain-explody appreciation. Now I just say whatever comes to mind. :D
5. What’s the fic you have written with the angstiest ending?
Days in the Sun for sure. And even that has a lovely, hopeful ending... unless you know canon. >:)
Oh, though “Messy,” the ShinShi short in the dcmk shipyard, has a pretty angsty beginning, middle, and end.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Unambiguously happy? Probably Every Heart Sings a Song or its followup, Sensory Input.
I hadn’t realized how many of my fics were sort of in a not-quite-angst gray zone.
7. Do you write crossovers, if so what’s the craziest one you have done?
I’ve written one, a Chihayafuru x DCMK crossover. It’s not quite crazy, but with two sets of characters and canons it’s hard to decide where to focus.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nope.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I have published about four lines of smut, but I’ve written a lot more for a WIP. It’s pretty vanilla M/F stuff.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t think so?
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep, the first part of touch (DCMK) is translated into Vietnamese here! The translator may or may not finish the rest.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven’t collaborated on the actual writing, but I’ve had really involved conversations that deeply influenced the tone and direction of a fic. And some of my betas have been really involved, too.
13. All time favorite ship!
Maybe... RoyAi, from Fullmetal Alchemist? They’re certainly my oldest ship that I still ship. I just love the trust they have in each other.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you will?
Ah, the faux-history paper on the events of Nirvana in Fire, unfortunately.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Derp? I used to really like writing dialogue, but now it doesn’t come so easily. At one point I would have said a lyrical writing style, but I’ve been consciously trying to write in a more grounded style. IDK, hahaha. I am a pro at using the thesaurus?
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plotting. Plotting. Plotting. How to rising action? What is conflict? The three-act story and Hero’s Journey are the banes of my writing existence. (I do like the brackets idea from Brandon Sanderson, though. That’s helped a lot.)
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I’m with @intyalote on this, unnecessary in the vast majority of cases. In non-dialogue, as well.
18. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter, I think? Though I either didn’t publish them or took them down soon after.
19. Fave fic you have written?
Ooh, this is hard. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with allll of them. Maybe Days in the Sun and Every Heart Sings a Song*? Two of the longest.
I will tag @cortue and @privateeye-cj!
(* I have complicated feelings about Every Heart, because reading it now, I can see how badly I f’ed up the main character’s characterization. I did feel like her characterization was a struggle while I was writing, but it’s even more obvious to me now. But still. The fic contains some of my favorite lines.)

200 Followers: Meet The Writer
Hello everyone! We‘re happy to announce we have over 200 followers and we thank you all for joining this project. For our fourth Meet The Writer Q&A, we’ll introduce you to another talented writer of our fandom:
Blog: @troublemakerinspace Name (and/or petname): Zoe or Z Birthday: August 29th Nationality: USA Current residency: NYC Languages you speak: English Masterlist/AO3: Choices Masterlist / Iambutterflyaffected (AO3)
1. Is there a meaning behind your url name?
I wanted something that was Ride or Die inspired. ‘’Troublemaker’’--Logan’s nickname for the MC, and ‘’In Space’’ is a direct reference to his infamous, yet heartbreaking quote ‘’I was just a rock in space lucky enough to burn up in your atmosphere for a moment’’
2. When did you start playing Choices? What's the first book you played?
Actually, I started playing choices just this time last year. So it’s been about a year! High School Story was my first book!
3. When did you decide to join Choices fandom?
Even though I have been playing choices for about a year now, I didn’t join the actual fandom until late January when I made my tumblr account. (after playing Ride or Die for the first time and needed closure)
4. Go back to your archive and tell us what was your first post on your Choices blog was about.
Ahh! So the first post I ever made on this blog was actually a reblog of my good friend @client-327 and her lovely fic Forget His Name. She’s great, I recommend reading everything that she writes!
5. How long have you been writing fanfiction?
I have actually been writing fanfiction for about 10 years now, technically. I started writing (but never posted) final destination fanfiction when I was around 13, and I got creative with it! (crossing it with other horror movies i.e. childs play, Friday the 13th, the grudge etc.)
6. Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it or would you change anything about it?
My first ever fanfic I have written for this fandom, is actually the first ever fanfic that I have posted publicly--ever. It’s called Unrequited and it’s set in a slight-alternate universe/timeline where MC falls for Toby instead of any of the other love interests in the book. Of course the feelings are unreturned, and MC turns to Ximena to provide comfort for her hurt. Ultimately it's a Ximena/MC ‘’friendship’’ hurt/comfort one-shot.
I actually still like this one! It's my first ever published fanfic in general, so it does hold a very valuable place in my heart. If I were to change one thing about it though, I would probably rephrase a few repetitive adjectives/adverbs that I used in either the same sentence, or paragraph.
7. What are your favorite Choices books to write about?
Ride or Die. That's it, that’s all I write for--at least for now. I’m trying to open my heart a little bit to writing for other books, but so far none of them have captivated me enough to write for like Ride or Die did, but I’ll keep looking!! (this does not include the Witness ending crack!fic I wrote about a week ago)
8. What is your specialty as a fanfic writer?
I would personally say writing fluff! That’s become my go-to, especially during quarantine.
9. Do you have any abandoned WIPs? What made you abandon them?
Oh my goodness, do I! I have so many, they’re hard to keep count of! To be honest though, the majority of them I do want to continue--I just keep getting new ideas while in the middle of working on one, and so I switch and sometimes some get left behind more than others ; if that makes sense.
10. Do you participate in any writing events or challenges throughout the year? If so, what do you like about them?
Sometimes! I haven’t in a while, I’ll admit. But what I love about them is the fact that they usually always provide one-word prompts that are so fun to challenge myself with. Like you can create literally just about anything with one word. It’s great. I love it! (Also I am participating in RODAW coming up, of course!)
11. Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?
Absolutely! One of my favorite published authors is Jill Santopolo. I love her rawness in expressing emotion from her characters. She’s one of the few authors who has actually made me cry (I also met her at a book signing in New York and she is beyond lovely.) and I hope I can evoke even half of the emotion she does when I write. I also like the style of E. Lockhart and Nina Lacour.
In the fandom, definitely @lovehugsandcandy, @domesticatedantelope, @client-327, and @omgjasminesimone have definitely inspired me! Just to name a few. (there are of course many others, too!)
12. Do you tell the people in your life that you write fics?
I so totally do! Most of them don’t care either because they, too, also write fanfiction, or they’re just very supportive! I work in a bookstore in my real life, so the ones who know about it are in the same environment that would encourage it, due to the ever growing number of fanfic-turned-published authors.
13. What’s the most personal fanfic you’ve written?
Oh dear. Well there is one that I wrote back in march that I am utterly terrified of posting on here. It’s extremely personal and putting it out would feel like leaving myself vulnerable. BUT, there is one I actually did post and it received a pretty positive response. It’s called Thundering Lullabies.
14. If you could recommend one fic of yours to a new reader who just found your blog, which one would you choose? Why?
I would say my first ever fic, Unrequited. Just because it was my first introduction into this fandom universe, so I believe it will be a good start for a new reader, too.
15. Do you write original stories?
I actually do! I’m taking a script writing class, and have been working on an actual book as well! I have plenty of excerpts/saved documents of short stories and original concepts! Whenever I publish my first book, I will definitely link it!
Do you want to contribute with questions/ideas for the next Meet The Writer Q&A? Send a message to @cfwcadm
Thanks for reading! Reblog to share your appreciation for @troublemakerinspace ❤️

Echoes
One book from my childhood has always haunted me. Cursed Be the Treasure, by H. B. Drake, didn't just get under my skin, it crawled inside and gnawed. An "adventure" tale of smugglers and pirates, of guilt and vengeance, it was a cold soak in an alternately reality that I could believe with all my heart.
My mother presented it to me at I'd guess age 10 or 11. Probably it had been in our collection all along. I assumed it was from her own teen years, so in the 1910s. I never knew where my mother came by such things, she seemed to absorb offbeat, peculiar works through some etheric transfer.
Over the years, I remembered little of the plot – just two incidents so horrific that they hung on me like literary albatrosses.
Perhaps five years back, that haunting returned and I felt the need to find that book again – the original had disappeared into the mists of yesteryear. I bought a copy online – a mere $3.50 if I remember rightly – a ratty-spined hardback. I immediately determined not to read it. I couldn't face the possibility that it would be just another "young adult" monstrosity that had overwhelmed my feeble mind. That would be a gut stab.
But with Daniel Riccuito's strong-arm encouragement, looking for an "unusual" book from the '20s or ''30s – my pick – I immediately thought of Cursed Be the Treasure... but "uh-oh, wrong decade." Yet when I flipped back the creaky cover, I found the copyright was 1928. So I committed to reading it again, with dripping trepidation.
And...? It resonates with the "now" of me as solidly as with the "then" of me; it's left an unusual sense of wonder, a "how can the universe work this way?" that I pooh-pooh in daily life.
Before getting to that: Who was H. B. Drake?
I've found minimal online biographical info on Henry Burgess Drake, who had two (at least) parallel careers. Born of British missionary parents in China in 1894, the next to last of seven children, he served in WWI, then taught English in China, Korea (at a Japanese university) and England, sometimes alongside his younger brother, Eric – this bio snippet, an aside to a longer one of Eric, does not mention Henry's writing. During (or before?) WWII, Henry served in the British Intelligence Corps, "to recruit spies to penetrate Japanese held territory" in China.
Of his alternate existence, fantasy and SF sites note him mainly as author of The Shadowy Thing, which had a strong influence on H. P. Lovecraft. You can purchase a 1928 hardback edition online for $967; I don't plan to. Beyond that and Cursed, he penned a few sea and other adventure tales (sometimes as Burgess Drake), and a five-volume Approach to English Literature for Students Abroad during the '40s and '50s. He died in 1963.
I've had little truck with adventure stories. The Conan tales bore me silly – great gnarled nonsense. I recently downloaded a humongous boulder of public-domain fantasy/SF/adventure (many of them novel-length), looking for a simple, non-challenging read. The first four I staggered through were almost malignantly bad – cumbersome slagheaps of adjectives, mostly multi-page descriptions of otherworldly scenery, including, so help me, two travels through nothing – quite literally a void interrupted by different-colored lights. They showed less imagination than an addled exterminator.
It's turned out that what I was looking for in that muck, without knowing, was Cursed Be the Treasure, which harks back to lesser-known works such as R. L. Stevenson's The Wrecker, about a ship ("The Flying Scud") in which the adventure is as much inside the narrator as mired in convoluted events wavering beyond the written horizon. I think Drake also took inspiration from Dickens, especially Nell's wanderings through the countryside with her grandfather in The Old Curiosity Shop. (Though unlike Dickens with his often black and white characters, all of Drake's emanate shades of moral grey.)
The first-person narrator of Cursed is Tommy, recalling his youth from age 6 to roughly 17, consumed in continual flight with his father from the vengeance of what his father calls Shadow-of-Fear. During their flight, they are briefly "trapped" by a witch-like figure, Bite-in-the-Dark, whom Tommy kills by accident. Then the flight continues, because... who or what is Bite-in-the-Dark, and can the greater Shadow-of-Fear be killed?
Baldly stated, this can sound silly. But it's written with a riveting intensity of isolation and unfocused fear. His father will run forever to protect Tommy, but does not feel he can, himself, escape the inevitable. And there are also the magically bright summers at the Dolphin Inn, where Tommy investigates the caves and rock ledges of the coast, the supposed refuge of smugglers, uncovering secret passageways leading to... what?
Along the way, he and his father stop at a supposed haunted house. Tommy sees a ghost (does he?) and encounters a skeleton (he does). When his father must leave on for an extended period, Tommy goes to school for the first time – his father's extensive, intensive knowledge had been enough to meet his educational needs.
Tommy makes friends with Worthing, an older, rule-bound student (who faults Tommy's adventuresome ways). Tommy invites Worthing for a stay at the house, during which Tommy finds a hidden passage and loses it again. In a later stint at the house, he meets Captain Field and his daughter. She, like Tommy, is traveling alone with her father, and like his father, the Captain is haunted by an implacable enemy.
Why no mother for either of these near-bewitched children? The word "mother" never appears in this tale. For both, the single parent and the single child have always been thus.
From here on, I'll leave the plot alone, because it's the method of telling and the near-perfect pacing that make this book, in my mind, close to a masterpiece. Reliving it, retrieving the incidents I forgot through the years, was unlike any other literary experience I've had; 70 years between readings, and it holds the same searing chill. And those two remembered incidents that I did recall – I can't talk sanely about them. The second details perhaps the worst mistake any human being could make.
There's nothing overtly supernatural in the telling, but the possibility of it hangs like a torn curtain. As Tommy slowly uncovers clues, a more enmeshed tale emerges, tying together disparate elements –almost typing them together. Certain small details don't quite fit... but not because Drake is lax. It's because nothing here can be complete, wholly true or fully whole. A "definitive" through line would only cheapen the tale. The passageways by the Dolphin Inn lead to no found end; the lost treasure is truly cursed – through the intertwined vengeance of those who fought and killed for it, and the inescapable guilt with which each must live.
That's the book, as written. But its effect on me goes beyond the words. It reaches something in me as inescapable as Shadow-of-Fear, like a reflected study of my life. Not Tommy's flight – the entire tale. I have none of Tommy's robust, adventuresome spirit... at least not externally. But something of my mind works the way this story works, with the details incomplete, the compounded feeling of guilt, the need for everything to be different, released. It was somehow like I was reading myself.
But a few details....
The novel I've been working on for the past couple years (before I reread Cursed) encapsulates a woman in her early 30s:
raised by her father, from the ages of 4 to 16
haunted by the past and her eerie effects on the present
with no direct memory of her mother, though unlike Tommy, the not knowing torments her
her name is Jenny; Captain Field's daughter's name is Jenny
This litany of congruence rattles my innards.
Did those plot details from Cursed that I thought had been lost remain hidden in the far reaches of my mind?
I don't think so. On rereading, the early chapters seemed fully new to me.
Are there cosmic associations that exhibit when we least expect them, in the least likely ways?
I think that even less.
I see the world as a grand accumulation of circumstances, ruled by laws that we can never directly experience or untangle as they apply to the minute incidents of life. Sometimes these circumstances heap in symmetrical piles that can delight or terrify, as did the Dolphin Inn and Shadow-of-Fear for Tommy.
In my case, the dovetailing of this marvelous tale with driving events in my life is an overwhelming gift.
I refuse to question it.

(1/18) *peeks from behind the wall* I hope I am still welcomed here hahaha cricket anon is here! <3 I am very sorry for making you worry last time O.O, for sure no matter what happens to the story, I'm going to be right there to read it! Huehuehue, I literally was not lying when I mentioned that this story is bringing me lots of joy this year :3 Cricket anon is fine now! hahaha my last work place was really bad, kind of black-company-level-bad, and it really took a toll on my mental health…
Dear cricket nony, I already answered one of your non-anonymous asks privately because I was so overwhelmed by the sheer amount of email notifications I got from tumblr and Ao3 that I had to thank you right away, but I still want to do it publically because even after days I’m still overwhelmed that you took so much time to write me a whole essay. I’m still all soft and wobbly and squishy on the inside. Your notifications really made my day, week, probably month – so thanks so much again. It really means so much T___T
(2) so, I kind of took two months? break from social media and just literally try and figure out my life lol basically quarter-life crisis also happening, but yeah slowly getting better now! I hope you are doing fine as well, sending you lots of hugs and love ~^^~ Firstly though!! I wanted to say sorry too that it took a while for me to reply hahaha… BUT!! Let me tell you omg during my rest of 8 weeks, I have managed to re-read ALL. SEVEN. CHAPTERS!! So many things to share!!
I’m so sorry to hear that your last workplace took such a toll on your mental health and I really hope that you are going to get better. I cross all my fingers for you and send you good vibes only. Please don’t feel pressured to comment at all. I mean everyone loves receiving comments, but it shouldn’t feel like a chore. So if you feel like sharing your thoughts I’m always glad to read them, but if you don’t feel like sharing them, please don’t feel bad about it. <3
(3) However, since my comments were a grand total of 4,000 words lol, I inserted them in AO3 under "cricket anon" in every chapter! :3 You might get confused as you read them because I take notes as I read the chapter lol hahaha I hope my comments might bring some joy <3 Ahh! By the way! These anon messages are partly not anon since anon asks are limited to 10 per hour? I didn’t know that! :( But since I accidentally have revealed myself to you lol I think it should be okay!
I’ll also try to answer your comments on Ao3 in the upcoming days because (if I remember correctly) you had some questions and I hope I can answer some of them. ^^ But I’m impressed that you went through all the chapters again. We’ve reached 150k now, which is quite fascinating to me because there are still quite a few chapters left. I wonder how long the story will be in the end *hides* I didn’t know that either! I’ve been on tumblr for so long and yet this 10 ask limit is new information for me, but it makes sense in some way – if I think about spam accounts or people going around spreading hate or something.
(4) Also, I think I’m going to make my snorts reactions straight onto AO3 from now on, rather than spamming your ask box with 10+ anon messages hahaha but I’ll still come here to share you my overall reactions and analyzations huehuehue and also to possibly warn you about the length of the comment lol something I noticed, from chapter 1 to chapter 7, the comment got longer lol more things to discuss about, I guess!? But yeah!! Let me reply to your reply to my previous ask here!!
LMAO I admire your dedication. Do whatever is most comfortable to you, I will be happy either way ^^ I think it makes sense that someone can comment more on later chapters because the painted picture gets fuller and fuller with details, there is more information about the different characters, the storyline is more developed and so on… ^^
(5) Is the sad scene in chapter 6, you were referring to the conversation that Jong-Taem were having, and then Jong tried to diffuse it into another lighthearted banter, and Taem is just. tired. of. Jong avoiding the conversation? and despite all that, Taem still let Jong come into his room and cuddle to sleep? idk... I find that scene really heartbreaking :( or maybe it was another scene?
For me it was the shower scene tbh. I don’t know, but it always struck something inside of me (is it weird that I’m saying this although I’ve written it?) There is something very fragile about Jonghyun in that scene and Taemin does feel a little helpless and is so caught up in his own thoughts, in his own needs, what he wants (and doesn’t get from Jonghyun) and yeah – it always makes me go :( but yes, the follow up scene is sad as well because you sit there and think – you two are just so damn dumb, which is something most people, who read this story so far – seem to think constantly, because yeah, they are very dumb – each in their own way. ^^
(6) I think I mentioned in the AO3 comment somewhere that even I started to feel like Taem can just leave Jong because Jong is not trying to understand Taem, I mean, nothing to do with his mood swings or his claim that Taem will get bored of him, just that he isn't trying to see things from Taem's perspective whereas Taem is trying! so! hard! and he even tried to ignore the fact that Jong avoid the vital conversations for like the 10th time already :(
Feelings are a very difficult topic – and while chapters 1-9 are very focused on what Taemin does, thinks, wants, needs, wishes etc. the focus does shift a little over to Jonghyun starting from chapter 10. So the reader does get an inside of why Jonghyun might have acted the way he did. If his behavior makes sense is up to the reader (and Taemin as well) to decide – but I think it shines a little more light onto Jonghyun, who the reader doesn’t know much about – feeling wise –, although he’s one of the main characters of the story. ^^ It’s the onion layers that get peeled one by one. ^^
(7) Yeah, re-reading this definitely showed me muCH MORE parallelism in Jong-Key and Taem-Jong dynamics. Even with Taem's mood in a sense? Like how Jong used to be really upset when Key has a new friend, and then suddenly okay when they do sexy times. Before, I only noticed the puppy-love-ness parallel, but then there is more to it, like I said, Taem's mood affected by Jong a lot, just like Jong's by Key, and also the way Jong claims that Key doesn't understand his feelings,
(8) well, it applies to Jong not really wanting to understand Taem's feeling? by just brushing it off as Taem will get bored of him or Taem doesn't know what he is talking about. I mean as a reader, I am also not sure, if it’s either Jong doesn't care or he is scared to show himself or both or maybe there is another reason? Hahaha ^^;;
This is true and done on purpose. ^^ This knowledge doesn’t play a key (haha) part in the storyline, but it is there to show how blinded one can get by one’s own feelings. After adapting to his new life in a dorm Taemin sees through Jonghyun and Kibum’s relationship quite well, but later when it’s about his own relation to Jonghyun he’s completely blindsided and doesn’t see how unhealthy it is at first – him going back and back and back over and over again in the hope that Jonghyun’s behavior towards him might change.
(9) You mentioned that there will be more Jongtae drought, and honestly, I think they need it? I think some space for them to think about things and you know do other things and talk to other people about other things lol maybe it will clear up their heads hopefully? Ahh!! You said the beginning of chapter 5 is for your own sanity lol I totally understand ;), it was a very sweet scene, soft, and kind of endearing compared to what is coming in the next chapters TnT
It depends on how we describe the drought. The hard cut was done in chapter 8. I went in like a warrior and just cut all the strings, not showing any mercy. ^^” I don’t want to spoiler anything, but yeah – the hard drought will continue throughout chapter 9 – soft drought from chapter 10 …… till ….. *closes mouth* 6v6
Working on chapter 8 made me write two lovey-dovey JongTae oneshots because I couldn’t stand seeing them fight in my own fanfic, in front of my salad. T_T so yeah, the beginning of chapter 5 was for my sanity. While writing chapter 8 I also realized again while I never really write angst, fights – anything dramatic really, because I’m a very chill person in real life, and I like my fanfics to be very chill as well – so writing this was completely out of my comfort zone. For others it’s writing smut for me it’s writing angst lmao. I usually want to wrap up all the characters in fluffy blankets and make them tea, and yet here I am – letting Taemin suffer for so many chapters. I’m a monster T_T
(10) Yeahhh, about the fact that we don't see Key so much since it is in Taemin's point of view, and also the fact that our (the audience)'s perception of Key is very much influenced by how Taem sees Key, right? I think I even mentioned somewhere in the comments, that in a way, a Rashomon effect is present as the readers read the story right, since they are all on accounts of Taem's witnessing, but then also maybe I am just reading too much into this lol
It would be the Rashomon effect if I wrote the same fic out of Jonghyun’s perspective and Minho’s as well for example. In this case Taemin is just a very unreliable narrator and we don’t (well I do :’D) but the reader doesn’t know what’s really going on, if everything Taemin is experiencing is true or if it should be taken with a grain of salt. Considering that everyone in the dorm, except for Taemin, gets along well with Kibum, we might want to believe that Kibum isn’t the bad guy Taemin wants to make him out to be. ^^
(11) Honestly, I could hear my English Lit teacher saying "maybe that is not the author's intention" hahaha xD Yes yes yes!! more chapters for Taem's development!! I am ready for it!! I mean the end of chapter 7 marked the sign of the broken vase, and paired with the JongTae drought, I am looking forward to the next part of the story!! Some character development at this point is perfect I think!! And also!! About the advices, I think I commented a few times on some of the chapters.
(12) I didn't notice that before! And after you pointed it out, I think I made some comments on Minho's, Key's, and Onew's advices to Taem and definitely, based on how the events unfolded, we could argue that the advice was bad - in a way though, I can't seem to tell (yet, maybe?) if the advice giver was genuinely trying to help or do they have ulterior motives? hmmm but either way, I like how you placed a lot of thoughts in the story, even on things such as advice.
(13) Because for sure, in reality, people tend to give bad advices, and act on bad advices. It is true that most fics tend to focus only on the good advice and then the story ends happily ever after. Real life is most definitely not like that :3 your "slice of life" tag is holding up to its name ;) Thank you so much for your hard work!! You added 10,000 words for chapter 7?? omg… huhuhu (insert a bowing LINE sticker)... yeah, for sure, the way the story unfolds in my head,
(14) probably is different to other readers, right? And for sure, very different to you, the author! There are probably a lot more instances, scenes, implications, interpretations? that we as readers are unaware of! Thank you so much for all your hard work TnT, as readers, having more context into the story does give much more clarity on the flow of the story and the feelings of the characters, etc. Thank you for all your hard work! (bow bow bow)
That was something @hwarang-number commented on as well while betaing the story. What if Minho has ulterior motives?!?!?!?!? In Minho’s case it does make sense to give out bad advice to lure in the innocent lamb haha but for example what would Jinki’s or Kibum’s ulterior motives be? Sometimes people want to give out good advice, but in the end it just turns out to be bad advice – unintentionally – humans are just humans after all – and none of us is all knowing, we all perceive things differently, and what might work for one person might not work for the other. I did add 10k to chapter 7 and 25k to chapter 8 – because chapter 8 felt like the most incomplete out of all the chapters in this story.
I think I’ve mentioned it before but hwarang_number is super attentive while reading and figured most things out that I’ve implied – even smaller details which I thought might get lost in the chapters – which I’m still impressed by, but I also said before that everyone reads stories differently, and some aspects that might not be important to me as the author of the story might be important for the readers and the other way around. For the past chapters I just tried to fill in the gaps that might confuse readers unnecessarily. In the original draft of chapter 8 Taemin is doing the deeds with Minho far more spontaneously because he’s so frustrated with Jonghyun – it made sense like that as well – but I think his frustration got more depth through the added scenes. :)
(15) Ah!! By the way!! Please don't feel like you are forced to reply to all of my messages! Having you read them already makes me happy! I don't want to make it feel like an obligation to you because... well omg my comments like super loooooong hahaha ^^;; And yeah!! Take your time with the next chapter by the way!! I am rooting for the development of the story no matter how it will go :3 I will be waiting for the next update (though no pressure, just want to put it there haha)
Dear cricket nony, if you write me 50 message I will still try to answer all of them ㅎㅅㅎ I might just take a little longer. I hope you will like chapter 8 as well, despite the drought ^^
(16) Next time, this cricket anon will bring some more noise ~ I hope your real-life stuff works out well too :D Once again, thank you for answering all of my messages, and for writing this awesomely written fanfiction! While I wait for the next chapter, I think I'm going to re-read songs of siren hehehe :3 Please stay safe!
Please do! Song of Sirens is definitely a story I would have loved to treat like “Dorm Life” in a sense that it would have turned out better if I had worked on it longer, but I’m still a fan of the big brain energy I had running through my veins when I came up with the mythological aspect of the story…lmao So I hope you will enjoy re-reading it. ^^ Chapter 8 is longer than Song of Sirens (just as a side note haha)
(17) Ah!! I forgot to mention!! After I re-read it, my most favorite literary device that you used in this fanfiction (lol this commentary is beginning to sound like a Literature essay) is the Biblical Allusions? I am not sure if this was your intention, but the juxtapositions of Bible verses or reference to God, in Taemin’s thought reminds me heavily of Taemin’s songs, particularly Heaven? It be a sexy time song if you look at the lyrics, but the composition is that of a choir church song
(18) I find the contrast chilling, and maybe you were trying to invoke that feeling to the readers? Orrr maybe I am perhaps, indeed, reading too much into this hahaha ^^;; but really! I really enjoy reading your fanfictions and coming up with analyzations, it’s very fun, and the fact that I can discuss or ask you questions about it is just makes it even more fun – since in Literature classes we can’t actually ask the author of their true intentions right hahaha okay!! I am done :3 Thank you!! <3
It was my intention and still is, so I’m glad you picked up on that. ^^ I always wanted to write a fanfic in which Taemin’s religion plays a role – even if it’s just on the side – I always make some references to Dante’s circles of Hell (when Taemin is being dramatic again) or I also made a reference to Hieronymus Bosch’s painting The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things in chapter 8. (I’m a big fan of his work – that dude was wild – the way he painted blows my mind every time I look at one of his paintings). So yes, dramatic Taemin talking about religion and throwing around with biblical references is my brain being wild. ^^
I would say that ‘Dorm Life’ is not a really deep story, but I did put a lot of thought into it to not make it your regular smut/romance fanfic. I mean it took time, still does – but I’m glad when people, like you dear cricket nony, appreciate it. So thank you so much for your kind words and sending me all your thoughts and interpretations. <3 I hope you will have a lovely December – please stay healthy and please take good care of yourself. <3

11/11/11
rules: answer 11 questions, write your own 11, tag 11 people
i was tagged for this by @carnationwrites and @mercutioswriting! Thanks guys. I’ll be answering all 22 questions.
I’m going to start off with carnationwrites questions!
1. Which of your ocs is most like you? Which one is the least like you?
One of my first OC’s, Jasper would be the most similar to me. Jasper is actually from an abandoned WIP, but I based a lot of her character traits on myself. I’d have to say Ash is the least like me. He is a character in my current WIP, my game.
2. Do you prefer writing original fiction or fanfiction (if you do both)?
I prefer writing original fiction but fanfiction if I’m in writers block I will write for my fandoms.
3. What is your favorite line that you have written?
And now you are being pursued by the authorities. Great. You really thought you had something special with that shop keeper.
4. . Have any your original works been influenced by other tv shows/movies/books? If so, which ones?
My current WIP is heavily influenced by the steampunk aesthetic.
5. What is your method to get over writers block?
I often go through writing prompts and write them for whatever fandoms or characters I am currently into. Writing anything usually helps, even if I’m not writing for my current WIP.
6. What is one song that represents your current wip?
We’re Going to Be Friends By The White Stripes
7. What POV do you prefer to write in?
Third person, past tense. Though my active WIP is written in second person, present tense.
8. Do you write everything in chronological order, or do you write separate scenes and put them all together?
It really depends what I’m writing. Often times I will start writing in order then kinda fizzle into scenes all over the place.
9. Do you prefer to read books in a series or standalone books?
Standalone
10. When did you start writing?
Well I have a couple embarrassing stories I wrote in 3rd grade, but I didn’t seriously start writing until a few years ago.
11. Is there a book that you read all the way through, then ended up disliking?
Inkheart. I didn’t finish the entire series but the first two books I read through entirely. I gave up halfway through the third.
The next set is mercutioswriting questions
1. Are any of your ocs based on facets of your personality?
My OC, Kit, definitely has my whimsy and love for the sky.
2. Are your ocs based on people you know in real life?
Most of my OCs have a least one facet of either my or my friend’s personalities.
3. How much are your wips like real life?
Well I currently have 2 wips. One of them is like a slice of life so that one is based off of events that have happened in my life or just cool things that could happen in real life. My other wip is in a steampunk universe and not similar to our world at all.
4. What aesthetic do you associate with your wip(s)?
Well as I mentioned, steampunk
5. favorite thing you’ve written? (can be a story idea, a snippet, a relationship, etc)
I love writing Kit & Sam together. Their friendship is so much fun to explore.
6. Least favorite things you’ve written?
I have some really bad poems I wrote in 6th grade. I like to think I’ve gotten much better at poetry since then.
7. what tv shows/movies do you watch?
Currently I am waiting for season 15 of supernatural, The Dragon Prince, She-ra, and rewatching Psych and Bones. I’m a sucker for most crime dramas. Studio Ghibli is my life.
8. are you inspired by other media?
reading fanfic and, im not sure if this counts as media, but d&d inspires me
9. what’s your favorite genre to read?
Fantasy and Sci-fi mixed together.
10. what’s a genre you’d like to write, but haven’t?
historical fiction. I find it really interesting to read books and stories in this genre but I admit that the amount of research that goes into it is a daunting task.
11. what scene from your wip hits the hardest?
tbh i haven’t thought that far yet.
okay and my 11 questions
1) Do you prefer to write on paper or computers
2) What is/are your OC(s) favorite colors?
3) What is one method you use to flesh out characters?
4) If you could put your OC(s) in a different genre which one would you pick?
5) Whats one thing you think you have improved on since you started writing?
6) What have you changed anything about your OC(s) since you created them?
7) What is your favorite genre to write?
8) What is one of your favorite quirks about your OC?
9) What was your favorite book as a child?
10) Is there a trope that you will never get tired of?
11) What is your favorite scene from your WIP?
feel free to do this or not guys! Have fun @sanguinewritings @anomaly00 @demidemonwrites @writinginthesilvermoonlight @yikescomma @1kwordsand10littlecandies @phoenixmakeswords @slantednotstraight @inexorableblob @labyrinthians @thegreyboywrites

part two
synopsis
A girl, merely seventeen is a rockstar in the making, her biggest influence being the legendary rock band, Queen. Her parents always disapproved of her choices, understandable, since they wanted her to study software engineering.
After a bunch of heated arguments with her father, Amyra looses hope and almost gives up on her dreams, when a voice springs up next to her. The voice claims that it knows all the secrets to make her the rockstar she was destined to be.
Follow Amyra Dasgupta as she makes various choices through her story, some good, some bad, and others risky.
part three
author's note
[Good day, dear readers. I hope you are having a great time here on Wattpad.
Welcome to this book. You may know me, Mayak007 to be that kid who wrote anime fanfiction, and some of the weirdest content on this platform. However, lately, I have found a strong interest in the band, Queen. And I have been listening to their music on repeat, and have watched Bohemian Rhapsody quite a few times.
I have also spent quite a lot of my time here reading Queen based fanfiction and stories, and have enjoyed them quite a lot. And one fine day, while walking to the supermarket while listening to Bohemian Rhapsody, an idea struck my head. Almost as if it was an arrow to the heart, my writer's block was gone and I had found inspiration for a story.
So through this story, I hope to tell a story of a young girl who followed the voice in her head to follow her dreams despite the odds she might have to face. It is the story of a girl who was inspired by the legendary Freddie Mercury, and even so many years after his passing, used his story as motivation to write her own.
I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing this.
Side note: I have only just entered my second year of college, so if my updates slow down, you will know why. I have a handwritten draft of my story so I will be working on that as well as updating chapters as and when I can, so please have patience while I work on this story.
Start Date: 23 September 2019
End Date:

New ask game for writers: 1. 4. 5. 10. 11. 13. 14. 17. 19. 22. 23. 27. 30. 33. 34. 36. 37. 39. 40. 41. 49. 50. 51. 52. 54. ... i am sorry they are all so good ... so i wanna know all
First of all, I want to say I love you. Thank you for sending them in! <3
(new ask game for writers)
1. Favourite place to write.
My bedroom, candlelit and all, preferably with coffee nearby. My room is my own little bubble where I can actually get creative things done.
4. Do you have writing habits or rituals?
Yes! I light up candles whenever I can and I brew a pot of coffee. I also play music that would suit the thing I’m writing. I have an angst playlist for sad stories etc.
5. Books or authors that influenced your style the most.
I started to write fanfiction as a literal kid because I was in love with Erin Hunter’s warrior cats books. Also, I’d say R.L. Stine’s goosebumps books have inspired me a lot. Recently, fanfiction inspires me a lot and old classics. Shakespeare is my favourite right now!
On tumblr, @delicrieux inspired me to make this blog and I am forever grateful for finding her amazing works.
10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
Ooh, I like this one. I would absolutely love to write an angsty/horror book with Stephen King! Probably a murder mystery, but I want to fill it with twists and just unthinkable solutions.
13. How do you deal with writer's block?
I procrastinate a lot. I either just sleep all day and feel bad for not writing, or I try to focus on art. Sometimes focusing on other things is a good canvas for fresh ideas.
14. What’s the most research you ever put into a book?
Once, I wrote a 100K word fanfic about Titanic so I read a lot of books about the ship and I watched a bunch of documentaries too. I also researched a lot in general of the early 1900s so I could try to make it as authentic as possible. I’m sad that I deleted it though. It was a lot of work.
17. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day?
This can be from 0 words to 20K words. But on average, I’d say I write about 1K words. Even if I don’t finish a fic, I try to write something every day.
19. First line of a WIP you’re working on.
“Mysteries have long questioned humanity on Earth, made mankind scratch their heads in wonder as they pondered what could possibly be the reasoning behind the odd things that occurred.”
22. How many drafts do you need until you’re satisfied and a project is ultimately done for you?
Honestly, very few. I tend to write on the go. Usually, I have two or three drafts and the rest just comes with time.
23. Single or multi-POV, and why?
It depends on the story. Personally, I like to write single POV better, but when I try to make the story oblivious and full of misunderstandings, multi-POV is much better.
27. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?
Sometimes, yeah. I usually ask my best friend for opinions and sometimes I might explain my plots to close friends. But that’s rare. They tend to stay in my head.
30. Favourite line you’ve ever written.
Well, it’s more than just one line, but I couldn’t think of anything else, I’m sorry!
“Their lips touched gently, yet all their love poured into it. For that short, beautiful moment, they tried to forget it was their final kiss goodbye. It was their final kiss on the same fields where they had their first. A kiss to seal the chapter of their love story to an end. “
33. Do you listen to music when you’re writing?
Always.
34. Handwritten notes or typed notes?
Handwritten! They feel more personal. It’s romantic.
37. Most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you.
“You can be anything you want to be, just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be.”
39. Do you base your characters of real people or not? If so, tell us about one.
Yes, I do that quite often, but not always. I tend to base them on people I know or even celebrities.
If I have to write about someone who is being nasty or rude, I just imagine whatever my highschool bully would say/do.
40. Original Fiction or Fanfiction, and why?
Original fiction because it is the source for fanfiction. Without it, we wouldn’t have fanfiction at all.
41. How many stories do you work on at one time?
Too many.
49. What do you find the hardest to write in a story, the beginning, the middle or the end?
The middle, maybe. I try to avoid plain, boring ‘grey spots’ in fics and they always form in the middle. I hate that.
50. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had.
It’s kind of weird, but I loved it.
So it’s about these creatures ‘ethereal explorers’(EE) that travel through dimensions/alternate universes. They keep track of different worlds, collect stuff and study creatures etc. Their main purpose is to be a messenger and try to keep up peace. Some of the EEs are good, others are evil.
Only these creatures can travel through many dimensions at once, but a human can only travel through one at the time safely. Then one day, a human slips into a portal accidentally and goes through multiple dimensions and miraculously survives, which is a 0.1% case. The ethereal explorer finds this human and is naturally interested to know how they survived.
The story revolves around the human and the EE as he is taking her home to her home dimension, which means they have to travel through 20 something dimensions. Of course, during that time they get into danger but they also get closer.
52. How did writing change you?
In many ways. Writing has brought me closer to other people. It has made me patient and perhaps wiser when it comes to choosing my words.
Writing has made me an old soul. I have studied the past so much and fallen in love with a time that is no longer.
54. Any writing advice you want to share?
Don’t worry too much about what other people will think about your writing. Write whatever you like and so you build an audience that likes that as well.
Take your time. Don’t pressure yourself or force yourself to write when you don’t want to. If you don’t feel like writing, but you have ideas please write them down. I hate how many times I’ve lost ideas because I didn’t do this.
And listen to music! Music can set the mood to writing and it’s magical.
Just be you. Don’t be anything you aren’t, it won’t work in the long run.
Thank you once again! This was fun :)

11/11/11
so I was tagged by TWO people for the 11/11/11 questionnaire (I love you guys!) where you answer 11 questions about your WIP, tag 11 people, then ask those people 11 of your own writing questions. Instead of answering 22 questions and keeping everyone including myself here all night, I’ll pick half the questions from @sarmarble and half from @limassol-writes !
1) What do you like most about your WIP? (asked by limassol-writes)
I love the dynamic between my characters and I think I’ve come up with a lot of really clever dialogue exchanges, both funny and serious. I also love the familial relations and backstories I’ve built for the characters, especially in Jacket’s family.
2) Which of your OCs is your favorite? (asked by limassol-writes)
For my current WIP, and this will surprise nobody, it’s Jacket! I love their dry, sarcastic humour and I love the complexity that arises from them being someone who is deeply loving and loyal but is, at the same time, going through intense struggles confiding and connecting with others. Also they’re a vampire and ya’ll KNOW how I feel about vampires.
3) First WIP? (asked by limassol-writes)
I often say my first real WIP was Division Four in 2009 (9th or 10th grade) which I continued until something like my freshman year of college. It was pretty cliche; it was about kids with special superpowers who were being tested on at a shady facility that may or may not have been with the government.
Even though the plot was definitely nothing original and I’ve grown so much as an artist since then, I can recognize certain aspects of character development and writing style that were surprisingly mature and I will always love it for what it meant to me at the time and how it had a lasting impact on who I became as a writer.
My apologies to OCs Allin, Pi, Dess, and Dec, since you’ll never get your stories properly told. I still love ya’ll with all my heart and I hope you take down Divisions Four and Eleven someday and escape to a better life.
4) Which scene from your WIP brought you the most outside of your comfort zone? (asked by limassol-writes)
One scene I wrote which was kind of combat-oriented, since I don’t write action very often and it’s not an action-heavy book by any means! Also I’ve written a little bit of romance between Kofi and Analyn for a companion book about Jacket’s family, and I’ve never really written romance before but I love Kofi and Analyn so much that I had to do it okay
5) What form of media is most inspiring to you: books, movies, tv shows, videogames, or something else? (asked by sarmarble)
I find all of them inspiring, but I think out of the stories that have touched me most, most have been TV shows! I think it’s something about the way television gets to be paced, and the way you can focus on multiple character arcs without feeling like you’re drawing too much attention away from other characters.
(I actually think CCGCCL would work best as a TV show, but given my lack of resources, I can definitely make it work as a book!)
6) What are your top 3 fictional relationships, platonic or romantic? (asked by sarmarble)
Is it too much to have one of my own works in here because listen guys, I live in a constant state of having feelings about Jacket’s parents, Kofi and Analyn.
I also have constant feelings about Jack O’Neill and Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1, BOTH platonic and romantic because the show has always always always shown them first and foremost as teammates and family (I can actually talk your ear off about ANY relationship in SG-1).
I also love Peridot and Lapis Lazuli in Steven Universe as best friends!
7) Do you listen to music as you write? If so, what kind of music? (asked by both people!)
Only sometimes! Usually if I’m having focus issues and/or if I really need to get into a specific mood. I usually can’t focus with lyrics, so either I’ll listen to lyrical music then write after I get into the mood, or I’ll listen to music without lyrics.
8) If you had to, what books/movies/tv shows would you compare your WIPs to? (asked by sarmarble)
I know, I know, everybody is sick of me talking about the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers! But it truly was a core inspiration for CCGCCL and I can’t help but draw the comparison in terms of how I want the pacing and characterization to happen.
9) Were there any books that made you decide to start writing? If not, why did you start writing? (asked by sarmarble)
The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins and Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda were the two series that made me fall in love with fantasy! But I think I always wrote, even younger than that, and I can’t remember why I started. It just always made sense to me!
10) Have you ever found your real life decisions influenced by one of your OCs? (asked by limassol-writes)
I go to fictional characters for advice all the time, and that includes my own OCs!
11) Favourite book you had to read in school? (asked by limassol-writes)
I remember reading And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie in seventh grade and absolutely hating the first 2 chapters, but after that it REALLY picked up and I loved it! I also loved Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix in sixth grade, and even though I hated Watership Down at the time, it’s one of my favourite books now after re-reading it in high school.
---
Tagging 11 people to answer the following!
Is there any genre you won’t write?
If you could collaborate with any writer on a project, who would it be?
Write a review that you hope somebody would leave on your current WIP.
Do you have any cool foreshadowing used in your current WIP you want to share?
What is one fear you have about your writing?
Are you aiming to publish? Do you want to self-publish, or publish traditionally?
Have you had any fun daydreams about being a famous writer/having a work published?
Any inside jokes or references in your WIP that very few people will understand?
Have you ever written under the influence (alcohol, drugs, etc)? If so, what was that like?
Weirdest thing you’ve done for the sake of “writing research”?
Do you belong to any writing communities (online or offline)?
I officially tag anybody who wants to answer these questions! But also specifically:
@mascmalfunction @the-midwrite-oil, @pbjplatypus, @dimmadarn, @luna-evans-writes @elliswriting @tinybroodinggay @therealghoulfieri @thelonelyrainbowenby @wardoffthenight @abalonetea

The first time I posted about Choices was in July of 2017 on an old side blog of mine.
4. Go back to your archive and tell us what was your first post on your Choices blog was about.
This blog is very old so my first ever post was an rb about Nico and Bianca di Angelo from Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but my first Choices post on this blog was about getting to marry Jake from ES and Drake from TRR.
5. How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Since June of 2014!
6. Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it or would you change anything about it?
I wrote my first fanfic when I was 13 but it has since been erased from the face of the earth and will never be seen again, which is honestly for the best. However, the oldest fanfic of mine that can still be found today is called Somewhere Else. It’s a TRR AU Drake x Riley fanfic in which the two meet in NYC and have a whirlwind romance as Drake searches for Savannah. I still like the fic even though its plot is solely focused on romance—which isn’t really my style anymore—and it’s pretty short.
7. What are your favorite Choices books to write about?
Blades of Light and Shadow and Bloodbound.
8. What is your specialty as a fanfic writer?
According to my readers, it’s exploring worlds and complex characters in-depth while spewing loads of angst.
9. Which part of writing do you struggle with most?
Lately, the hardest part for me has been staying focused! I think a large part of that is because I’m working on a really ambitious project right now and I have a lot of ideas I’m worried about executing properly and I have these self-imposed expectations I’m afraid I won’t meet. It’s daunting but in a good way. Writing usually comes easily to me but I think it’s good to struggle sometimes because it helps me grow and improve.
10. Do you participate in any writing events or challenges throughout the year? If so, what do you like about them?
I haven’t participated in a writing event or challenge in a while! I used to do them when I was still in The Arcana fandom. I think the best thing about these challenges or events is that they can either break up my normal writing routine and give me something new/different to work on so when I come back to any current WIPS, I do so with a fresh mind. They also sort of force me to tackle subjects or themes I’m not used to writing about which ultimately helps improve my writing overall.
11. Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?
Rick Riordan definitely showed me how important it is to have a clear voice/style in your writing. That has definitely made writing infinitely more enjoyable for me because it doesn’t just feel like I’m telling a story but like I am also expressing myself through my work. Another author that has influenced me is Sarah J. Maas. Her Throne of Glass series is what encouraged me to be really ambitious with my current project, Ashes and Embers (A&E), in terms of creating an elaborate plot, exploring not only the main characters in depth but also the supporting characters, and worldbuilding.
12. Do you have any writing buddies or critique partners?
My dear friend Alia ( @thealia ) betas chapters of A&E for me! Without her, I would probably be crushed beneath the workload. Liza ( @shadowcourt ) graciously listens to my ideas and hypes me up with her A&E headcanons. I also have to give some recognition to Kelsea (@shegrumbles) and Sav (@courtesanofedenbrook ) who not only provide me with endless love and support but are also fantastic writers!
13. Do you reread your own fanfics? If you do, which one have you reread the most?
I actually have not reread any of my multi-chapter fics simply because I haven’t had time to! The moment I finished Bound, I immediately jumped into writing A&E. But I have reread a short fic for The Arcana called “The Power of a Name” a few times because I love the angst.
14. A Hollywood producer tells you that they want to film just one of your fics. Which fic would you want it to be?
Oh, absolutely Ashes and Embers. Maybe I am biased because it is the fic I am currently working on, but I truly think that it is the most action-packed and elaborate story I have ever written. I have so much planned for that fic—including a second part that has yet to be named—and it already feels like a movie saga in my head.
15. Do you write original stories?
I do! My original WIPs are currently shelved just because of timing/workload but I hope to finish them one day!
