Me, whenever I want to handwave some magical effect needed for the plot: Wei Wuxian did it.

He's such a perfect character for this, too, you can't question it.

Why did Wei Wuxian do that? Well, he hadn't slept in three days and only eaten turnip and bad wine soup for months, so it just kinda happened. He blacked out and has no clue how or why. He saw the ghost of plot conveniences reach out to possess him and decided to just vibe with it.

He's the perfect excuse for magical plot shenanigans.
