Shoot, have you ever heard of the Star Darlings books or the cartoon? Oh my god Star Darlings is sooo good it’s up there with Ever After High for me. It’s about this planet of essentially almost star beings that have their main source of energy come from granting wishes on Earth. It is obviously very star themed as even the way the mcs get to Earth are on hitching rides to shooting stars. Anyways, for years they’ve been having weird readings in the energy, and they decide that not enough wishes are being fulfilled to meet their needs, so they decide to train a group of 12 girls from the nearest academy and essentially have them taking expedited studies while also keeping the energy problems secret as it will cause a panic or cause students to be jealous. The girls go down to earth one at a time and realize that the magic isn’t going to be as hard as they thought and that they’ll quickly have to fit in to an alien culture to make it in their missions. Of course there is an evil villain reveal and lots of obstacles on the way, but if I said anymore it’d be a huge spoiler. It’s a damn shame that Disney cancelled the books and the webisodes though so there are 11 books. I heard years back it might come back, but I’m not holding my breath.

Omg i didn’t know there was like? actual lore for the star darlings? I actually had run across a clip on youtube when they were first coming out but I didn’t know where to watch them + it did not aeem from that clip that there was EAH levels of plot or plot at all so I kinda lost interest before I even started. When DC loses its chokehold on me a little bit, I’ll have to check it out, ty!!

Hey, I think the new Power Girl and Wonder Woman variant covers might be AI

look, I’m no artist, but I think I’m pretty decent at spotting AI “art” when I come across it. There’s usually just this weird look about it that causes me to raise a metaphorical eyebrow, and if I look closer, I can find the inconsistencies in it a real artist wouldn’t make.

Both of these variants were made by Daxiong, I’m not familiar with their artwork and tried looking them up and their usual style is very different than what they had this time around.

Let’s start with the Power Girl cover:

At first glance it looks fine, but if you look closer you can spot the inconsistencies

There are these weird ribbons? or hair? just popping up from her head and belt that kind of connect but are just confusing to look at

The belt itself is very inconsistent

The hair ends differently in places compared to the rest of it

There are lines in weird places

And for the Wonder Woman cover, I admit, I don’t think I spotted as many, but there are still areas where it looks weird

The lines on her “W” belt are inconsistent

The lines on her armband/gauntlet thing are all over the place with no coherence

And the symbols on her shield don’t really look like anything and they just fade away

Like I said, I’m no artist, but this looks like the work of AI to me.

I hope I’m wrong, I don’t want to see people using AI “art” at all, let alone professionals in the comics industry. But if this is actually AI, I don’t think people should buy these covers if the “artist” didn’t even think it was worth their time to actually put effort in and make them.

1/3 of their funds have went towards outrageously expensive rent, healthcare, and basic supplies.

Mohammed (@mohammedhaboubsblog) was shot in the leg.

Mohammed's twin sister was injured during the Khan Younis massacre and went through a surgery the family currently cannot afford.

Rent alone is 1/10 of their campaign goal and the family is struggling to afford it.

Donations are sparse and amount to around $100 USD daily. At this rate, the Haboub family will not be able to evacuate.

Their campaign goal is reasonable: roughly $29k USD to evacuate 4 adults. However, the currency is SEK and that seems to intimidate people.
